Guest Reviews
- Spoerke (10/5): The Best In Djibouti! - stayed four nights at Les Acacias in Djibouti City in April of 2026. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous artistic accents. The rooms with balconies are exceptionally spacious and provide a refreshing and relaxing view of the Indian Ocean. The air conditioning provides a lovely and comfortably cool respite from the omnipresent heat. The outdoor areas are lovely for sitting and watching the ships come in and out of the harbor and the restaurant does not disappoint. The staff is beyond charmingly polite and courteous and helpfully cheerful. A particular staff member, unfortunately I cannot remember his name whom helped me with my luggage has such a positive and effervescent sense of cheerfulness and always made sure I was having a decent time. Thank you most kindly and graciously to the staff of Les Acacias. WiFi can be a bit tricky, but a bit of patience and a VPN makes for a smoother connection.
- Andre (6/5): Mediocre place in Djibouti - Mediocre place but nice staff Not at international standards

- Mark (8/5): Not that bad, but there is still some to improve... - -The view from the balcony
-The staff (except some people)
-The AC
-The bed
-The whole room (except the limited amenities)
-The tour company recommended by the hotel -The airport transfer driver. He told he is waiting for me long ago, but that was not true. He was not nice all the way and seemed to be not that healthy neither (caughed a lot and so).
-The expired yogurt (by taste and texture) and the expired cheese (by color - this type used to be white, not brown...)
-Overpriced restaurant and just OK food and half-rude service
-It took at the minimum 5 mins. to get hottish water

- Celine (8/5): -
- Jan (7/5): A peaceful location near the sea. - Nice pool area. The so called "beach" of the hotel is not suitable for swimming.
- Kassem (7/5): -

- Taib (9/5): - I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The staff members were very friendly and professional, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The restaurant food was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations. I truly enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend this hotel to others. Nothing to mention
- Carmen (6/5): -

- Lisa (7/5): I would stay again - Loved the room the pool and the breakfast Reasonable location a good 45 minute walk from the city centre The military boys came to the hotel for Thursday - all day, I chose the hotel for the pool in the heat. These guys made having a swim near impossible.
- Ronald (8/5): Very good -

- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- Ambra (8/5): Very good -
- James (10/5): A wonderful place to stay in Djibouti City! - The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The reception arranged several things for us, including transportation and a restaurant where we enjoyed two lunch meals. The hotel restaurant provided excellent service and food. The breakfast was outstanding, with a nice selection of fruits, breads, and beverages. Omelettes to order were available upon request.
It was also very quiet so no problems sleeping.
The free airport shuttle was waiting for us upon our arrival and whisked us right to the hotel. The lighting in the room was somewhat dim, including in the bathroom. Aside from that, virtually nothing.
- Keith (10/5): Extremely Wonderful !!! - The hotel sets in a very unique area that give you that feeling of relaxzation and freedom. The staff are Extremely Wonderful with ensuring that your stay is HIGHLY Confortable. Small drainage issue with bathroom sink and shower. Small issue with A.C. Units freezing-up or not cooling when they should. Showers area need full Shower Curtains.
- Tracy (9/5): Great accommodation option in Djibouti - We spent the last 2 nights of our Djibouti journey at this hotel, and it was the best! We booked a sea/pool view room, which turned out to be a 1 bedroom unit. Both rooms had an AC unit, however only the bedroom had a tv. Unlike all the other accommodations that we stayed at around Djibouti, this hotel actually had warm water for a shower, and best thing of all was that they served fresh fruit at breakfast (as well as having a chef on hand to make omelettes). The daily room clean was a really nice touch that was also appreciated.
The location here was great, being on the peninsula and in amongst other hotels, embassies, and the french base. This proved to be a little removed from the 'real' Djibouti town center and all its chaos and noise, but it also made for a quiet peaceful stay. We really appreciated both the courtesy ride to the airport, and lovely staff who work at this hotel. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for quality accommodation before they head out into the wilderness that is Djibouti!!!
- Alaswadisania (7/5): Good - Quite and nice hotel. The food was excellent. We ordered lunch and it was tasty. The breakfast was also good with lots of options. The room is spacious and comfortable. The location was a bit too far from main city center. The room is slightly dark and not all lights were working.
- Aline (8/5): Very good - The hotel has a view on the sea and the swimming pool is very quiet. Rooms are spacious.
- Ulugbek (5/5): I wouldn’t recommend - Difficult to say anything Poor facilities, rooms are not clean; it’s definitely not a 4 star hotel
- Murat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Khaldoun (6/5): High prices are too high everywhere, - Pool Room isn’t good, bed isn’t comfortable, the bathroom isn’t good
- Bernard (7/5): Good -
- Molla (8/5): Very good -
- Gabriel (2/5): Terrible hotel, to be avoided - The room was dated, and generally dirty. The bathroom was falling apart - shower head, towel rack. The breakfast options are very limited, and staff are usually absent and reluctant to fry an egg when requested. Overall, I would never again stay at Acacias when back in Djibouti. Newer, better hotels are now popping up in downtown Djibouti.
- Bernard (7/5): Good -

- Bernard (8/5): Very good -
- Keith (10/5): Over all my stay was AMAZING - Wonderful meal in the morning, wonderful location with a veiw of the water. All is Excellent!!!

- Murat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neha (5/5): Passable -
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Dariusz (7/5): Considering the local conditions, quite ok, but minus the wifi - A very nice hotel, located right by the sea in a quiet place, but unfortunately quite far from the city center. There is nothing interesting nearby, no restaurants or shops. Nice swimming pool and restaurant area next to the pool. Large rooms, bathtub in the bathroom, ac good. Staff very nice, smiling and friendly. Breakfasts quite modest (from 6 am). A big plus is the free airport transfer (taxi costs 10-15$) and the possibility of late check out! Wi-Fi has good coverage throughout the entire facility, but unfortunately the connection cuts out every time and you have to log in again. Only two electrical sockets in the room. The bathroom is old and dilapidated.
- Murat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Murat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arnaud (8/5): Great value, excellent location, friendly staff - Very friendly staff !
- Asif (7/5): Good -
- Thierry (8/5): Restful. - Good food, nice staff.
Good Wi-Fi. White salt taste and remains from shower and tap.
Bathroom equipment turning old.
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Sabrina (4/5): Average. Not a four star hotel at all. - The location on the water is lovely. The WiFi is unreliable at best. For business travelers this is a major issue.
The rooms show water damage and damage from doors having been previously broken into.
The bed is hard as a rock and you are only offered to small flat pillows.
There are very few amenities available--no gym. there is no hotel information in the rooms.
The breakfast left much to be desired. The only egg options on a daily basis were burnt scrambled eggs and when you asked the staff for a different egg option or fresh coffee they referred you to what was on the "buffet" and would not serve you. The bread was dry, and there were almost no other edible options.
In terms of other food options. The hotel ran out of several simple dishes on an already sparse menu during the seven days of my stay.
- Javed (4/5): Disappointing -
- Nuria (7/5): Good location but poor services - Good location right by the sea, nice pool and outside restaurant area. The restaurant staff was particularly friendly and attentive The housekeeping services were poor - they consistently forgot to bring towels, water, etc. The reception staff was also quite rude, calling me in the middle of the night at 1:30am while I was sleeping.
In addition , my "room with a balcony and sea view" did not really have a sea view, it looked down on the parking lot - also, the room wasn't ready when I checked in (at 8pm at night) so I had to relocate rooms at first. Poor organisation from the reception staff in general.
Finally, the hot breakfast buffet was not great, consisting of dried scrambled eggs most of the time.
- Kim (8/5): Ups and downs - I liked the pool, the cabanas and the food. The bar was also a good thing. The room was also great. The first night I spent in a standard room instead of the junior suite I booked. I also didn't like that my card is put on file when paying for my room but to charge for a guest I was told I needed to provide my card to charge for the guest, which wasn't the problem, if only the system in the hotel would charge the card without me having to provide it again.
- Brendah (5/5): Location offers limited options and bearable for very short stays. - Sea view, pool side bar Low standard of cleanliness, breakfast quite basic, restaurant menu not much choice, exaggerated security to extent of denying customer drop off in front of hotel entrance in the evenings,
- Haddis (9/5): Superb - The fact that the hotel is near the sea and the hotel staff are very pleasant. I did my reservation using Booking.com, but the reception staff told me that the hotel does not have business relations with them l. It was shocking for me since I used my visa card to pay for the days of stay. Front Desk asked me to pay in cash.. it was very confusing. Fortunately, I had the cash and paid. So far, the amount paid to Booking.com has not been deducted from my account.
- Ali (9/5): 👍🏼 - Good people :) Breakfast was not fresh
Internet is patchy
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Raj (5/5): Heritage hotel with good food - Heritage hotel with courteous staff, private beach and good food. Room was not so clean.
- Andreas (8/5): Relaxed. - Very friendly and helpfull staff, they have a very nice pool including a bar. Breakfast is perfect. Rooms are very good and big including airconditioning. After check out they offered me to stay in the afternoon and enjoy the pool. My flight was at 23.00 and a free shuttle to the airport was also offered. Good service and really enjoyed it! Unfortunately I visited the hotel during the hot season, not really nice, too hot. To go somewhere else you need a taxi. It is very important to agree about the price with the local taxi drivers otherwise some of them will scam you. The City centre is about 1000 Franc and the airport is about 2000 Franc. Keep that in mind.
- Husamudin (10/5): Exceptional -

I found cockroach in the bathroom
Then I found more in the bedroom
- Lisa (4/5): Disappointing -

- Arnaud (9/5): Great location, clean, exceptional staff - this is most likely the best value in Djibouti.
great location and really wonderful staff from reception, house keeping, restaurant and security. everyone is so welcoming and going out of his way to make your stay better.
- Hosameldin (7/5): The internet cuts out every time. There is no water gun in the bathroom. It uses the traditional tub. The prices for ser -
