• BG (8/5): Bastante cómodo - La ubicación, el personal y el acceso es excelente El aire acondicionado de La habitación que nos dieron no servía, y hacía mucho calor, sin embargo nos dieron otra habitación mientras reparaban ese, así que en teoría si nos solucionaron el problema, después nos regresaron pero igual el aire seguía sin servir, y la puerta del baño no cerraba :(

• Peter (4/5): - The location by the beach is fantastic. Close to the estuary as well. We saw many lizards, birds, and other wildlife very close by. The room had an ant problem, the staff was not super present or helpful, and the accommodations overall were disappointing. The restaurant seemed nice but was almost always empty.

Wir hatten uns ein Surfbrett für unseren 10 tägigen Aufenthalt gemietet und ohne Probleme mit auf's Zimmer nehmen dürfen. Morgens, abends, tagsüber in nur 3 Minuten ins Wasser. Ein absoluter Traum. Und das noch zu einem unfassbar guten Preis. Eines ist sicher, Tamarindo Hotel Laguna del Cocodrilo...wir kommen wieder 😃👍🏽 .. besten Dank nochmal ans ganze Team... Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden.Weiter machen ,wie bis jetzt .
• John (1/5): We did not stay. Left the keys and paid for accommodations closer to town. Would advise against booking here. - We checked in and left to find other accommodations. Not as advertised Not a good location. Rooms were extremely bare bones. Looked like it was right on the beach but we were unable to get on the beach from the hotel. Had to walk several minutes on a busy road, with no sidewalks to get to beach access. Hotel was very dark, with no lights on in hallways at check in.

Wouldn’t stay here again but the staff were helpful and nice and it was easy to go to the beach and restaurant. Walls definitely need to be cleaned, bug problem needs to be taken care of.

Bathroom in the room has no door, the tv control remote did not work, the noise from the restaurant below was heard from the room. There was no parking lot for the hotel guests, there are some parking spaces outside by the sidewalk, but shared with the restaurant.

• Jenna (8/5): great location with great accommodations - The hotel has perfect location with a path to the beach, and easy walking down the street to the rest of town. The restaurant inside was amazing as well, and was available whenever you needed a drink or something to eat. The staff at the front desk were so friendly despite our language barrier, and showed us around as we checked in so we knew where to go and how to operate the lights in the hotel. They provided soap and shampoo, and the AC was great!
• Beehler (1/5): Cheap, and still not worth it! - No A/c at checkin so west facing room was unbearable, refrigerator unplugged at check in and so unusable. Intermittent working lighting on stairs so unsafe. No hot water so only cold showers. Loud thumping music until 2am. Staff blamed us for hot room saying we checked in late at 4 pm when checkin started at 2pm…how this impacts the temperature is anyone’s guess.

I think there is a difference in level of service between the cleaners and the management of the hotel. We would recommend the restaurant of the hotel for sure! The stay is this hotel was oke. My girlfriend and I booked the street view room #9 for 3 nights. When we tried to open the door, the key of the door broke, and inside the appartment the door to the bathroom was partially broken. We were forced to change rooms and moved to another more luxier room and had to pay $100 extra for this room. We were not very happy with the extra payment but it was not negociable. The luxier room was much better than the room we had before.

Broken coffee maker replaced by yet another broken coffee maker. someone knocked on the door twice at night. Top of staircase a hazard missing a wall and railing plus the hall lights often didn't work. had to use the light on the iphone.

• Danny (1/5): See comment above - Once we crossed a stream, we made it to a beautiful beach The hotel still advertised that it still has a French bakery (from the stay we had before). We were put up in a room right next to the restaurant. There was live entertainment, which wasn't advertised. Very noisy when our soul purpose for booking this property was for peace & quiet. When it was owned by the French couple, it was absolutely beautiful & peaceful. There was a nightclub down the street where we could here clearly at 3am. We checked out a day early to find a more peaceful hotel elsewhere. We were so desperate to get out of there, we didn't even wait for the front desk to open to ask for a refund on the night we didn't stay.

Excellent value. Staff was very friendly. We loved our stay at Hotel Laguna del Cocodrilo. The staff spoke very little English. Fortunately, we didn't have any major issues that we needed to communicate with them, so we were able to get by with the small amount of Spanish we know. Just a word of caution for non-spanish speaking travelers...

• Amy (7/5): It was ok, good location. - Employee who checked us in didn’t know how to use the credit card machine. Booked with price in dollars. Offered to pay in cash in colones, gave her the amount she requested. Later walking by, she asked for more money, well above the normal exchange rate.. so we decided to see again if we could just use the card to pay the original booked rate in dollars. Took a very long time, but she was finally able to run our card. Also I had to use the flashlight on my phone to see in the hallway coming out of the room at night with young kids. The lights only worked going up to the room, then turn off automatically. It was a bit odd.

• Marcus (10/5): the nature, beach proximity, end of town but 3 mins to a shop and coffee.. - very tranquil at the end of tow next to the estuary cocodrilo. beautiful property. my terrace had an amazing hidden garden with a path through the palms to the beach. the restaurant next door lit up at night looked extraordinary. very photogenic and great gazpacho! the howler monkeys walked right over my head through the palms in the morning. What a great spot. if it had a pool it's easily twice the price. highly recommended if you like seeing lizards and tranquility. great tunes from the restaurant at night too, not loud, very chill... 🤷🏽‍♂️

I asked for a garden view room but didn't get it, instead had to climb dangerous concrete stairs to access the room, not easy with arthritis! Bathroom badly needs upgrade. The price way too high for such poor quality, it's a pity because it has good beach access. Not access friendly for older guests, steep poorly lit stairs etc.

• Ryan (9/5): Quiet spot a bit removed from the action - The room was very clean and comfortable. It was quiet and away from the main drag which provided some privacy. The shower had excellent pressure, if inconsistent temperature. They had live music at the attached restaurant which was nice. The AC in the room was not very strong. It was a bit of a walk to get into town (very nice along the beach, less nice along the road).

If you are looking for a quote night in the rooms this is not a location for you. The restaurant and the bar are a few feet away and one can hear the music until about 10.at night.

Park your car and walk into town - Met our needs, easy to find, location sufficient, liked having a refrigerator in the room with a freezer we could use to freeze some stuff before the next day's hot travel. On the quieter end of the busy Tamarindo main street and Beach. Bed was ok but not wonderful. Didn't see any place to get ice and the restaurant said no since they're a separate establishment. Noisy neighbors, could hear everything in the hallways. Parking was pretty tight.
