- Sally (10/5): Nature lovers sanctuary - Absolutely perfect location! Just around the corner from the beautiful beach and lake, with plenty of nature walks, swimming spots and wildlife around, and a short drive away from Bateman's Bay. The lorikeet visitors each morning were a highlight. Victor and Dee were very friendly and helpful, while giving me my space and privacy. Would definitely stay again.

- Charlotte (10/5): Lovely little cottage near the beach - Lovely little spot in beautiful Durras North. The cottage was so well equipped, with lots of nice touches provided like plunger coffee, milk, chocolate, different teas and fruit.
Lots of wildlife around and beautiful walks to do on the beach or in the bush.
An easy drive down from Canberra, I'd definitely recommend it for a weekend trip away. Nothing
- Tahlia (10/5): Overall the cottage was really nice, definitely would stay there again. - It is a beautiful cottage. It was very clean and the location was perfect. The spa bath didn’t work and the water pressure in the shower wasn’t great.
- Madeleine (10/5): A cosy haven, nestled between the national park and the ocean, abundant with native animals. -
- Neild (10/5): Great place to unwind and de-stress in nature. - Quiet, private, short walk to beach, close proximity to wild life. Nothing
- Christine (7/5): Great spot, friendly hosts - Very helpful and friendly hosts.
The cabin is close to the beach and walking tracks.
Abundant wildlife.
The hosts let me charge my EV from their home.
Excellent, detailed instructions on how to get there. (Unfortunately I did not see these until later). Small table and not enough room for the 'kitchenette'.
- Ehsan (10/5): A relaxing stay at North Durras, with nature and wildlife at your fingertips - The accommodation had all the essentials that were needed for a relaxing weekend in the beautiful surrounds of North Durras. Victor, our host and his partner, were welcoming, they accommodated our request for an earlier check-in, and gave us helpful suggestions for places to visit and see. The cottage itself was clean, and we had all we needed. The firepit made for an enjoyable evening in the backyard, with kangaroos present by our side 😊 having the opportunity to hand-feed lorikeets in the morning was also memorable. The cottage is within walking distance to the beach.
I enjoyed the reading material that was provided, as well! Can never go wrong with a couple of interesting Quarterly Essays! 😊 We loved everything about cottage and its vibe.
- Jorg (10/5): Hidden Gem - Very clean & tidy in well-kept garden; birds & ocean breeze the only sound. Absolutely peaceful & relaxing!
I will definitely return ( come to think of it... - I already booked my next visit!😁) My lack of time to spend more days in this paradise!
- Sinja (9/5): Superb -
- Santa (8/5): Very relaxing and peaceful- comfortable and hosts very accomodating - wildlife galore - Very good location and very friendly hosts ~ exceptional value for money Can’t say there was anything negative to say except no town water but bottled water was not an issue to take with us if we didn’t want to drink tank water
- Heather (10/5): I will definitely return for a longer holiday. - Very quiet and comfortable. It was hard to find. It needs a sign on the road.
- Denise (10/5): Peaceful place, very quiet, lovely place - Beautiful quiet spot, peaceful location, walk to lake and beach.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Wayne (10/5): Home away from home on nature’s doorstep - Location is excellent. It’s a very quick, beautiful drive to pebbly beach and depot beach. There is an abundance of wildlife around and some great walks starting from the property. Victor was a fantastic host who obviously wants guests to enjoy their stay while respecting their privacy. Kitchenette was as described - still, not having a dedicated sink was a minor annoyance.
- Niel (8/5): Very good -
- Adriana (10/5): Fantastic - Loved the location and all the wildlife. Nil
- Timothy (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (9/5): Loved the wildlife in the garden and relaxed pace of Durras - Great we could walk from the cottage to beaches
- Richie (6/5): We only had one night which we very much enjoyed but would not book for longer because of lack of pr - The location and bird life were wonderful. Close to beaches also. Extremely relaxing location. Accomodation was advertised as a very private beach cottage…. The photo above does not show that you do access the cottage thru a side gate Right into a very small back yard with the cottage facing the main house.
The cottage appears to be a converted garage and is small. It was Not private. Not value for money.
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Great location near the beach. Very quiet and peaceful!
- Deanna (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly hosts, comfortable and lovely stay. Great to greet kangaroos and birds in the garden.
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denis (10/5): Relaxing Cottage Getaway - we enjoyed the ambience, the bird life and proximity to the beach. all was good.
- Shelley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tomoko (10/5): Cosy cottage situated in the Murramarang National Park - The property was located in the national park and ideal for wildlife watching. Kangaroos/wallabies were everywhere. Close to the beaches. The host Victor was responsive, reliable, friendly and kind. The cottage was simple, but clean and well maintained - had everything we needed - so we had a comfortable stay :) There was a washing machine available for guest use. Nothing really - we liked everything. However, the kitchen unit in the cottage was small and not designed for cooking (which was perfectly fine with us) - and there was no kitchen sink to wash dishes. So you will have to go outside (10-15 meters away) to the laundry area for doing dishes.
- Camlla (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy and very relaxing
- Christopher (10/5): Seaside Haven - Gorgeous little cottage by the sea. Victor was very welcoming. The fruit and chocolates were a nice touch. Birds and kangaroos everywhere. Everything we needed Nothing
- Fiona (9/5): Overall, This little cottage and the hosts provide a fabulous little getaway. I highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you 🙏 - So happy to find this little gem in North Durras. What a fabulous location and lovely drive into Murramarang National Park. Even though the weather was not so good during my 2 night stay, I was able to get out and about for walks and just appreciate the quiet natural beauty of this place. Lots of wildlife - particularly kangaroos. Birdlife also prolific.
This small cottage is simply appointed but lovely. Very comfy and cozy inside with a great outlook over the garden. Birds, kangaroos and other wildlife frequent the garden. The small kitchenette with microwave with kettle and toaster adequate for a short stay. The attention to detail was notable. Providing guests with a small amount of fresh milk, freshly ground coffee and a few pieces of fruit and chocolate was most welcome.
The cottage is on tank water but no problems drinking the water. The bed was comfortable and AC for heating. Wifi very hit and miss but 4G ok. The bathroom/ walk in hot shower was clean and in good working order. I also appreciated being able to separate my rubbish, food scraps and recycling. Guests can access onsite BBQ, garden setting and Kayak’s. Laundry and washing up facility also available.
There is on-site parking for one vehicle.
Access to the cottage is very private and guests can come and go easily.
Victor was a knowledgeable and welcoming host. He sent email with details and directions before I arrived. There is also a very comprehensive booklet inside the cottage which details all the necessary information about the cottage, including local walks and recreational activities. Just remember to buy food and supplies before you drive into the park. All good.
