- Christopher (9/5): This is a very lovely hotel, with kind and helpful host and amazing views of the hills and vineyards - Breakfast had a good range of options and coped well with dietary restrictions. Would have loved a kettle in the room for tea!

- Peter (9/5): A perfect stopover on the long drive from the Mediterranean to Santander. - Lovely old building tastefully modernised - with fine furniture and artefacts - near the centre of this beautiful historic town.
Excellent host. Not much to criticise about the hotel. There was a shortage of open restaurants in town but we found food and had a wonderful stay.

Put themselves out to assist. We arrived very early and they accommodated us by letting us into our room a couple of hours early. Very pretty house and lovely location. Very quiet area.

- Francis (10/5): To experience La Rioja, it’s wine, food and beautiful landscape. - Felt like home Nothing!
- Michael (10/5): A rare find in a quaint village - Not many places like this anymore, stacks of character and style from way back. Lots of period furniture with modern touches. The owner was very helpful and polite as were the other staff. If we're ever in the area again I'll be definitely going there. The town was also just as good.
- Jirapun (10/5): Very relax - Nice small hotel with the small decoration that probably owner’s own collection
The room is huge and most have patio to look at the valley
There’s hotel dog which is so friendly too
The owner also very helpful Since there’s many antique item so there’s some dust here and there
- Assaf (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Great room, amazing host and a wonderful stay. Do yourselves a favor and book this hotel if traveling in the area!!

- Golfbravo (8/5): Very good - The hotel is delightful., highly recommended. The price quoted when booking was US$257, the charge at checkout was Euro320.
The internet connection was poor and kept dropping out.
- Steve (9/5): Superb - Sweet boutique Hotel with excellent host, super comfortable bed, and bedding in a cute little village in the heart of wine country. Loved, loved the breakfast! Nice mix of modern and antique furnishings. Would definitely stay again.
- Andrew (9/5): unique experience in superb location - breakfast was fine,
location is superb, this experience is not to be missed - the grand house in a tiny village in an enormous vineyard. the church has an amazing altar piece dating back to 1550, and referencing Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights. the walks are fun, and lots to see.
- Maureen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Easy'nj (7/5): Disappointing room in well located hotel. Overpriced. - Nice views on central location in atmospheric San Vicente. Large terrace. Good breakfast. Cannot park near the hotel, large public parking 5' walking. Fee-based cafeteria. Poorly maintained hotel can use a refreshment. Attic room with low ceiling feeled cramped. Small bathroom with very unpleasant moisture odour. Flower boxes with wilted plants. No free coffee making facilities. Overpriced !
- Jaime (10/5): If you're looking for a place with character, charm, and an inviting atmosphere, this hotel is a great choice. - From the moment I arrived, the experience felt less like checking into a typical hotel and more like being welcomed into a private home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, immediately setting a cozy, personal tone. The common areas are tastefully adorned with antique furniture and personal mementos, creating a sense of nostalgia and history that permeates the entire space.
The bedrooms, in keeping with this theme, are furnished with period pieces, giving each room its own unique charm. While the décor may not appeal to everyone's taste, I found it both clean and comfortable. It’s clear that a lot of care has been taken to maintain the authenticity of the aesthetic without compromising on comfort.
The bathroom in my room was a pleasant surprise—it was spacious, modern, and equipped with all the amenities one could need. This contrast between the historical charm of the room and the modern conveniences in the bathroom was well-balanced.
One of the standout aspects of this hotel is its location. It’s centrally situated, making it easy to explore the local attractions without any hassle. Whether you're interested in sightseeing, dining, or simply soaking up the local culture, everything is within walking distance.
Lastly, the owner deserves special mention. They are not only attentive and welcoming but also engaging, often sharing delightful anecdotes about the house and its history. This personal touch truly enhanced the overall experience, making it feel even more like a stay in a cherished family home.
- Bill (9/5): Lovely boutique hotel in a fantastic location. - This is a beautiful boutique hotel! The room we stayed in was at level -1, but it had a big terrace with fantastic views over the vineyards and mountains beyond. The room was really spacious with a comfy super kingsize bed. Breakfast was a continental buffet style, with plenty of choice ..... really nice! There were plenty of areas in the hotel where you could relax, and a nice touch was the honesty bar. There is no car parking at the hotel. However, there is ample free parking throughout the village within 2 minutes walk.
The location is great, the hotel being located in a small village in the heart of the wine region, about 10 minutes drive from Haro, where the large wineries are located ......although there are numerous small and large independent wineries all over. There is a lovely village square and the are several good bars and restaurants in the village.
I never realised what a beautiful region Rioja is. If you walk up to the top of the village there are 360 degrees of stunning views.
I will definitely return to Rioja for a longer stay and will look no further than the Hotel Boutique Casona del Boticario for my stay! The only small thing that would have been nice would be tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Lovely greeting by Host of Property
Incredible vista, fortress town located on a high hill overlooking Spanish agriculture for miles, and jagged mountains on the other side.
Super comfortable bed and linen
Spotless bathroom
Magical sunset light and early morning mist
Ancient fortress town with plenty of hilly streets to climb
Nice town square filled with happy locals Remember to eat on Mondays before going to the town, or else you'll be out of luck for dinner (dark). We had to make do with 2 bags of potato chips and a nice cup of tea from the "honest bar" on the lower floor.
- Suzanne (9/5): Superb - Fabulous location, hostess, shower and bed! 😀
- Vera (9/5): Lovely place away from tourist paths - We stayed at this small hotel for one night. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who made us feel right at home and even provided excellent dinner recommendations.
The hotel itself boasts a rich history, with fascinating vintage furniture that adds a unique charm to the overall atmosphere. Our room was spacious and offered a lovely view of the city.
Overall, our stay was delightful, and the hotel’s character and exceptional service made it a memorable experience. While we enjoyed the breakfast, it would be great to see more variety with the addition of eggs and vegetables.

- Sahil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (9/5): Charming hotel offering exceptional value for money in a lovely village. - Charming boutique hotel in the heart of a beautiful village. I wasn't expecting a private balcony with stunning views of the vineyards and mountains for this price. Quirky mix of antique furniture and modern fittings. Friendly staff and a great honesty bar. The breakfast wasn't served until 9am which was too late for me as I had an appointment at that time.
- Borbala (9/5): Impressive accommodation in the heart of the city. - The whole accomodation was very tidy and impressive. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The hostess was very friendly and attentive and served a good breakfast in the morning. Everything was perfect!
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is a lovely historic restored building in a very attractive hill top village. It has a lovely garden, and the room had views over the vineyards and surrounding countryside. The room was light and airy, and beautifully furnished. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The manager was charming, helpful and gave information on local places to visit.m
