Guest Reviews
- Holly (10/5): - Super cosy and charming house in a great location a short drive or walk into the centre of Margaret River. Plenty of space for a group and loved the pizza oven and outdoor area
- Sarah (10/5): Relaxing and magical family escape - This property is absolutely beautiful - it feels like something straight out of a fairytale, and we genuinely didn't want to leave. It was cosy, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing couple of days. I loved that there were little nooks everywhere, inside and out, where you could sit with a book or a glass of wine. I won't share photos because half the joy is discovering these spots yourself.
My three teenagers, who are usually glued to their phones, spent hours on the swing seat on the verandah and wandering through the gorgeous garden and spotting the different fruit trees. The property was spotless and had everything we needed, right down to the pizza trays. Check in was simple, and there was plenty of parking. If you are looking to get away from the stress of everyday life, this is the place to go - you won't be disappointed.
- Melinda (10/5): Perfect for the weekend - Clean and comfortable
Close to town
Quiet and the garden was lovely
- Nadege (9/5): -
- Turner (10/5): Amazing Stay! - Location to the town
Cleanliness
How well equipped the cottage kitchen was.
How the picture do not do the cottage justice its is better then you can expect!

- Dariia (9/5): We loved it. It was only two of us. We slept on the second floor because it had nice feel to it, but unfortunately it wa - Cosy, cottage feeling.
Nice. Was too hot upstairs.. and the bed needs a better mattress
- Julie (8/5): Very good location, house is well designed for a small group to share. - garden outdoor entertaining area excellent. Loved the house. Kitchen area very nice to sit and chat while cooking. Rats in the kitchen ate our bread we left on the bench overnight. Bedroom upstairs is not closed off, would have been good to know it was a mezzanine before we booked. Baited rat staggered past while we were having breakfast outside. I am guessing the clearing next door has given a bigger rat problem than normal.
- Jacob (1/5): The Enchanted Mouse house! - Imagine a property with a rodent issue and the host to be so nonchalant about the issue. I saw a mouse the first night in the kitchen but understand country properties could have a random mouse visit, but when we woke up the next morning the food that was stored in cupboards had been stored was eaten by the rodents and multiple droppings through out the kitchen! Absolutely disgusting we clearly didn’t want to stay as it posed a clear risk to our health they offered to clean it but how does that fix the issue of mice in the property. Had to book another place and vacated it at my expense, thoroughly infuriating with my aged parents visiting from the UK. If I was to stay in a hotel I wouldn’t have to put up with this so why should I, in somebody’s house? Especially after paying $1200 for the stay, what’s worse is I had came to an agreement for a refund and reimbursement of the $150 shopping (may I add that was offered to buy my silence) that i had to leave as the new property was a hotel with no cooking facilities and with no fridge was wasted! This was retracted to just the loaf of bread! Abhorrent customer service!
- Morgan (8/5): Great stay - Beautiful home. Lovely spot. Excellent relaxing spots though out the house. Construction ongoing next door, but that cannot be helped.

- Fmma (8/5): Only 2 nights but we had a very nice time in Margaret river and would definitely recommend anyone to visit - Easy location to town centre, house I self is beautiful, everything you need Building works at the back of the house
- Lucy (10/5): - This was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay with great outside areas. Everything was great.
- Alice (10/5): We (four adults) had a most enjoyable stay at The Enchanted Cottage. Very comfortable, lovely surroundings, and great po - Excellent location and surroundings. A pretty and comfortable cottage which is both spacious and well equipped. Good communication with owners. Would recommend 😊 N/A
- caroline (7/5): Lovely house; would recommend. 1 bathroom may be limiting for 4 or more people. - Good facilities . Pretty house . Great location .
House well equipped. The bed linen (and pillows) is of poor quality . This has been mentioned by other visitors .
There is major building work (25 new houses) next to the property . They started work at 7.45am . This work will be ongoing for some months yet and affects enjoyment of the lovely gardens and sitting areas.
- Anne (10/5): Magical - Perfect location and beautiful accommodation. Nothing
- Hanson (10/5): Great location very quaint cottage with everything you needed. - Stacks of character beautiful garden and a great location, walking distance to the township. Nothing all good.
- Hannah (10/5): Fantastic!! - The warmth and interior design!!
- Wei Young (10/5): - Great location , great decor. Cosy and lovely settings!
- David (10/5): Absolutely fantastic, can’t wait to come again. - It was beautiful and welcoming, cosy and comfortable - like a hug off an old friend.. we Loved the art and crafts that were available to purchase, the gardens and setting were gorgeous. There was everything anyone could need to cook up a storm whilst being in walking distance from the town centre and all the foodies options.. Not one thing, loved this stay.

- Joey (10/5): Perfect Stay for Groups, Ideal Location and Great Host - My friends and I had a wonderful stay here. The place was clean and spacious, and the amenities provided helped made our stay an extremely comfortable and enjoyable one. There was also an outdoor seating area, perfect for groups who want to enjoy some outdoor dinner/BBQ.
The location is also close to most of the destinations in our itinerary, and we could visit most places within a ~20mins drive. There are also some popular coffee shops and cafes around the area that is within a 10mins walking distance.
The host, Nikki, was very responsive before, throughout and even after our stay. She is very kind and provided great help when my friend accidentally left an item behind. She also took the initiative to contact me beforehand and inform me about a construction taking place beside our stay, and also provided slight compensation for the inconvenience caused. (The construction noises did not bother us that much during our stay, we were out during the day.)
Would definitely recommend this place to my friends who are planning to visit Margaret River, and would definitely stay here again the next time I visit :) There wasn’t anything in particular that I did not like about the property, but if I were to really nitpick on one thing, it would be that there’s only 1 bathroom available. My friends and I (group of 6) had to take turns to use the bathroom, but it was not that big of an issue. There is also another toilet available behind the kitchen.
The bathroom itself is also rather huge. It was clean with hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided.
- Agie (10/5): relaxing and enchanting stay - Beautiful and spacious property located closer to the shops, restaurants and cafe Everything was just perfect for us
- Debra (8/5): Quirky and unique property with lovely touches throughout. - Great location, gorgeous gardens and beautiful home. Loved the fireplace and kitchen nook area. The cheap, worn polyester sheets. For this price range I would expect better quality linen.
- Andrew (2/5): Health hazard - noisy and dusty! We could not even open our doors and windows! - Cottage was nice There was construction right beside the cottage!!! Noise and DUST were a regular thing during our whole stay- it would start as early as before 7am for those 2 mornings we were there!!!
We were only advised of the construction a few days before our actual booked dates, we have already made the full payment, and at a time when we were no longer able to cancel or look for alternative places to stay, since those dates were peak ones (Holy Week leading to Easter!)
Yes, the host made a minimal refund (only a measly 10%) but it was not even commensurate to all the inconvenience & hassles we experienced throughout our stay there) most especially the HEALTH HAZARDS that the whole stay imposed on all of us (ie, we have asthmatic family members and my wife even was sneezing hard when she went briefly at the clothesline area, what's worse, one could even see with the naked eye all the flying dust and dirt that the massive trucks were producing, PLUS all that noise !!!!!!!
- Ngoc (10/5): Exceptional - The house is cozy, beautifully set up. My children love their stay and want to go back. I wish we have more time to stay and enjoy the outdoor area. The town is just in walking distance.
- Rachel (9/5): Cosy, comforting & close to town. Perfect family getaway in the heart of Margs - The location is a short minute walk to Margaret River town (circa 3 minutes through Coles car park) which was perfect to get amenities from the supermarket/visit bars and go to town for dinner. The property had a homeley feel, definitely like the cottage described. The outside grounds are immaculate, plus the house was fully stocked with kitchen items to cook up a storm. My only issue would be the comfort of the master bed upstairs. It also can be a little loud if other guests are up early but this is purely due to the open design, and the upstairs balcony and hide out made up for that
- Nicky (7/5): Quirky cottage in good location but development put a negative on our stay - • The location of the cottage is very convenient to walking into Margaret River to enjoy the shops and restaurants.
• The cottage is full of lovely little nocks and crannies to sit and read a book. Hanzel’s Lookout is a lovely balcony off the mezzanine bedroom, would have been lovely to sit out prior to the development now being the main focal point.
• There is interesting history and a story to the cottage which we enjoyed learning about.
• The kitchen and bathrooms were clean on arrival.
• We enjoyed seeing the wildlife in the garden at the end of the day, with birds, skinks, bandicoots and kookaburras paying us a visit.
• Nikki the host was great with all communication (up until we made a complaint that is) • Told 3 weeks prior to arriving about disruption from the land being developed next to the cottage. Not enough time to find alternative accommodation in MR over a weekend for a special occasion. Development clearing began a while ago and owners would have been aware many months ago. We did not expect a development of this size.
• Unfortunately development is a noise/dust issue from 0700 until 1615 each week day. No more paddock. Can't sit outside for breakfast or afternoon drinks as we tried too.
• Bathroom/kitchen clean, the rest of the house not so much. Mezzanine window seals not good, light covered in red dust. Handheld mirrors in the bedrooms were covered with fingerprints as was the TV. Decking dirty (arrived on a Sat)
• Bed linen was poor quality for 4star property. Pillowcases were also placed directly on the pillows, no pillow protectors for added hygiene?
• Mezzanine bedroom is very hot, large balcony door with just a gauze type sheer, the sun just shines in heating the room. Only a fan present which didn’t help at all. Can't open the windows in the week due to the development. No mirror so had to go downstairs to the office.
• Not a fan of all the items for sale, bit tacky and took away from the enchantment of the cottage. Bright fluoro for sale stickers upstairs and downstairs was distracting.
- Aimee (9/5): Beautiful place with character close to town - Perfect location just a short stroll from town. Beautiful rustic property with an outdoor area that really makes it. All the basics were provided such as tea bags, fans etc. Beds are comfortable. The place is very spacious for a group and even with one shower, we had no troubles getting ready. The upstairs balcony is sublime for an early morning cuppa! The BBQ hadn’t been cleaned and there was a fair bit of dust on surfaces that weren’t commonly used, such as window frames and bed frames. Also a funny smell in the loft area (damp or something?). However, kitchens and bathrooms were very clean. I didn’t love the luminous ‘For sale’ stickers dotted around - while I support local businesses wherever possible, such a blatant shop setup detracts from that beautiful retreat ambience. Also not the fault of the property and included in the listing but the construction next door means no kangaroos and noise early on weekday mornings.
- Veronica (10/5): A place to feel enchanted with joy and immerse with nature. - The cottage really made you feel enchanted. Went to the place to connect with friends and play boardgames. Provided lots of space and did not disappoint.
- Mollie (6/5): Quaint cottage for hardy people! - The house is a quaint cottage, with lots of knick knacks and personality. The location is also excellent, as you can walk to restaurants and bars in the main strip. Unfortunately the mattresses and pillows were very old and lumpy! And while of course it’s the countryside there were quite a few dead spiders and flys when we arrived. So probably not for us, but I’m sure some people wouldn’t mind so much.
- Kathryn (10/5): tranquility - stunning beautiful cottage, we were absolutely blown away with the decor, beautiful gargens great for evening dinning ,,all facilities were there. We only stayed 3 nights we wish we could of stayed longer, great location for sight seeing, lovely town just a short stroll .will definitely be returning in the future ☺️
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (8/5): Very good -
- Carrie (9/5): Superb - Super clean and comfortable and a really good location, walking distance from great restaurants. Really great facilities with a lovely big kitchen with fantastic appliances and everything we needed to cook. The host was fantastic, so responsive and thoughtful. Definitely recommend and would stay again. I don’t think there was anything we didn’t like.
- Paula (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Superb - We enjoyed our stay at the Enchanted Cottage. Comfortable, good facilities, close to town and attractions.
- S.jose (10/5): An amazing trip down south, story book stay! Host was amazing! - The amazing sunlight that beams through the kitchen windows were pure magic! The feeling when you walk in, you’re in awe! Something out of a storybook! Host, Nikki- amazing all the way through and communication was great!
- Arun (9/5): Awesome Stay - The house itself and the location NA
- Louise (9/5): It was charming, rustic, peaceful and welcoming. We left feeling refreshed and calm. I would highly recommend this sta - The rustic cottage was charming and welcoming. We were surrounded with birds and nature. The kitchen needs more lighting.

- Jessica (10/5): very good had all we could of asked for and more plus was a beautiful house ! - super clean and had everything we needed and was super close to everything nothing it was amazing :)
- Libby (10/5): The best airbnb I’ve ever stayed in - Such a great house, with great facilities. In a great location with so much to do around. Was awesome to get away for a few days in the cottage, very peacefully and homely. Could of had more supplies such as dishwashing tablets and bin bags, as only two were given and we found that wasn’t enough for three nights.
