• Turo (9/5): A family with teenagers or two couples travelling together should have a good look at this place - Nathalie and Bernhard were pleasant and helpful hosts and easy to communicate with. In their modern Casa Eden there are two bedrooms, each with a bathroom, a living room with a kitchenette and a veranda. The cabinets in the bedrooms are notably spacious, the rooms and other living space are otherwise relatively small, but entirely adequate for an independent traveller using it as their base to explore the Tamarindo area and beyond. We - a family of 3 - prepared our breakfast meals and late night suppers on site enjoying them on the veranda; if you're observant - and lucky - you may well spot some interesting wildlife (we saw a group of howler monkeys, a deer, a squirrel, a motmot, a jay while having an early morning brew). The nearest supermarket is a 5 minutes' ride away; well stocked to suit most diets, while you reach Tamarindo with its multiple restaurants and shops by car in 15 minutes. Casa Eden might be particularly attractive to two couples travelling together, or a family with teenagers. The house lacks a private swimming pool. However, some local hotels offer cheap 'day passes' allowing guests to use their pool from later morning to late afternoon; we found such an arrangement to suit our needs quite well. (Of note , there is a modern hot tub on site in Casa Eden).
• Emmie (10/5): Rest and relaxation - Perfect relaxation. The couple who own it live next door but leave you to it. They are always available for advice of the nearby area or anything else you may need. Perfect if you have a car. We didn’t have a car but was able to walk to the nearest supermarket and cook at the property.
