- Nina (10/5): - Walkable but convenient to the bus stop and the hotel provides a bus pass! Great Mountain View’s along with lovely landscaping. Breakfast buffet nice but not varied so by day 4 we were bored of choices. Had to have a fan brought to room as AC was inadequate except in the hallway which was really cold. Would definitely stay here again though!!!

We took advantage of the bus right in front of the hotel. You can cross the street and be at the most peaceful part of Lake Luzern. I enjoyed my walk and dipping my feet in the lake. I can’t wait to go back! Oh and the breakfast was heavenly.

- Aaron (8/5): - Hotel is in the nice and quiet area of Haldenstrasse. Its about 10 min drive to the train station. Ensure that you got everything in the "downtown area" like shopping, food and etc. Considering this is in Luzern everything is closed almost after 9:00 pm except maybe some kebab and pizza place or Mcdonalds and Burger King. We got the lakeview front room. However the view is not full due to some treees and building in front. I dont recommend if you want the view but worth if you want the extra room size. For the amenities, towels are replaced and beds are made. I dont believe the room is cleaned except for taking out trash. There were 2 still and 2 sparking water on 1st day that were not replaced. Also included is free breakfast. It's a standard western breakfast buffet. Its a great positive since most food in the city are expensive. Theres also a free luzern city card that allows free bus and boat ride for your duration of stay.

- Mahesh Prasad (4/5): - They asked (and we had to pay) extra charges for our daughter even though we had booked a quadruple room. The shower ceiling was too low. We were not able to shower without hitting our heads and shoulders.

- Zisa (2/5): Don’t stay here. - Place was clean. I’ll give it that. But a hotel room is meant for a sleeping and showering. The place advertised ac, our room was 80 degrees at best. It was cooler in the hallway. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Would never recommend.

- Tasnim (10/5): - Our first room had a very wet floor and only room for one of the children so we called the service desk and they rectified the situation in minutes. They moved us into a beautiful room and helped us get settled in. The staff at the front desk also helped us plan our stay there. The staff in the kitchen was wonderful. We had bought a meal that needed to be reheated and they graciously did it for us. Our breakfast was great for all of the days as well. The bus stop is right outside of the door and minutes away from the town. We loved it and would stay here again.

- Nader (10/5): - The pictures posted on the listing do not do it justice. The property is very pretty. The front desk staff is very helpful. One of the managers, Conrad, helped me with parking the car and to solve an issue with the rental car. The rooms are spacious, newly renovated with updated amenities. There is a great view of the lake from the room balcony The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very modern. Lots of outlets to charge. A bonus was an included breakfast that was delicious with a lot of variety. I highly recommend this hotel.

The food was also very good, we enjoyed sitting on the front porch relaxing, enjoying a drink and dinner. Beautiful area, walking distance to the esplanade is a just across the street. This hotel is just out of the busy tourist area which we loved. There is more of a walk to the old town area but worth it because it is just beautiful. The hotel did provide bus/tram passes for all of us however we did not use them. They also arranged for our taxi to the train station. The hotel is obviously older but the rooms have been updated and are very clean.

- Narmin (10/5): - I read both the good and bad reviews before reserving to be honest I had my doubts before the actual arrival. For context, I’ve travelled quite a bit, stayed in some of the best hotels and generally I’m a picky person. Let me tell you that this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. What a cute soulful place!! Check in was a breeze, they let me do so early even. The room was spacious, neat, the bathroom was impeccably clean (and white so u can actually see how clean it is). no bugs in the room (I checked). But obviously if you sleep w the windows open you’ll invite the nocturnal fauna in your room. They have portable air conditioners in the room to compensate, though I agree that window screens would do wonders in this case. The lake views are of course unmatched. The restaurant was very reasonably priced, food was delicious and hearty. Some reviews commented on lack of luggage ramp and I only had a backpack but how can one complain about this given the historic beauty of this building? It’s only a few steps up & the property sent me a message ahead of time offering to help with luggage at arrival. That is 5 star service to me. One thing I regret is that I didn't get a chance to see the inside of the building much to feel the history bc I was with my niece and for just one night we had very little time in the hotel. I will make sure to see it one day to try to imagine the splendor of this place in its day. Overall, a 5 star stay in a beautiful town.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great stay at this hotel. Was the room hot at first? (It was 30 degrees and sunny outside.) Yes, but it cooled down once the ventilation system started up, and we all slept well. We had a room on the first floor, and the cutest little balcony. If you're looking for a brand new hotel, this is not the place for you. But its age is its charm, and we enjoyed the elegance of this hotel very much. It was sparkling clean, and all the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great supper in the bar. We would stay again without hesitation.

Breakfast is ordinary, and the only available coffee is tapped from a standard industrial coffee brewing machine. The hotel room only offers a very limited range of soap and only one single instant coffee bag each person. The 4-star hotel is an old 3-star hotel.

The only problem was that the receptionist could not find the reservation upon checkin even though I called the hotel to confirm a date change & having the hotels.com reservation confirmation which took a long time waiting. All staff really nice.
