Guest Reviews
- susan (4/5): - Location was fantastic close to everything. We were very disappointed with our stay and feel the listing did not match the price or expectations.
Firstly, there was no Wi-Fi, which was not clearly communicated. We both needed it for work, so this had a significant impact on our stay.
The cleanliness was well below standard. There was black mould on the lounge ceiling, cobwebs around the chandelier, and noticeable dust and dirt behind the heater. The bathroom has no exhaust fan, making it difficult to use due to steam buildup. The toilet smelled strongly of urine, and underneath it was visibly stained.
There is a fire pit, but we were told we had to purchase our own firewood, and there were no chairs provided to sit around it if you wanted to use it, which made it impractical.
For $830 for two nights, this felt extremely overpriced. We’ve stayed in many Airbnbs and have never paid this much for such poor conditions. There were also none of the small touches often provided, like milk or a welcome basket, which made the experience feel even less worthwhile.
Overall, this stay did not meet expectations in terms of cleanliness, value, or basic amenities, and we would not stay here again.

- Brett (9/5): It’s a cozy little cottage. Good facilities and close enough to walk around town. Great heating considering it can get c - Great location. Would be great for family. Had everything we needed. Nothing really negative
- Ian (8/5): - Location in town Minor detail of French doors at rear needing a block out or curtain
- Lynette (9/5): Superb -
- Diarmuid (10/5): Exceptional - House was really cute and immaculately clean. Lots of nice touches. Beds were comfy with good mattresses and pillows. Chooks in the garden were cool and the location is excellent
- Ben (8/5): Very good - Nice and cosy Fireplace
- Mathew (7/5): Good - Nice little cottage steeped in history.
Fantastic location, right next door to park for kids and a short walk to town.

- Valerie (10/5): Ladies Night in Toodyay - The location was excellent we parked our cars and walked into town. The beds were so comfortable. Excellent provisions in the house. It was a old quaint cottage. We were a group of friends going to a dance in Toodyay. We had a lovely walk on Sunday morning and had breakfast in town. We will book again when next in Toodyay. We liked everything about the overnight stay
- Jarrad (9/5): Met expectations, great location. -
- Amanda (10/5): Great getaway for only an hour out of Perth. Drive there, park your car and walk everywhere. - Historical cottage with oodles of character on the quiet end of town, with only a short walk to shops and pub. Beautiful floorboards, large bedrooms with comfortable beds and elegant chandeliers. Separate kitchen, lounge and dining with a good size table to gather around. Private off road parking, with huge garden. Kids playground next door with easy access to the Avon river and walking bridge, offering a short walk to the aquatic centre. The Christmas store was still closed as too was the other pub. No doubt we will plan our stay around these next time.
- Jaeawes87 (6/5): Pleasant - Beautiful little place reminds me of growing up. Super comfortable. Loved it Unfortunately zero aircons and fans are placed to high which only circulates hot air. If it weren't for no aircons this place would have been amazing. Winter I think would be fantastic but not summer
- Jan (8/5): Lovely place but the shower wasn’t good the bedroom fans were strange with nowhere to plug in - Lovely place, clean and great location Loved the original features cleanliness great for what we wanted
- Kellie (9/5): Superb - Beautiful, comfortable and in a great location.
- Christine (8/5): Three friends enjoyed a lovely relaxing week end away only one hours drive from Perth. - Very comfy old country cottage that is well laid out. Very clean and everything we needed for cooking breakfast and dinner was in the cupboards.
Location on the main street at the end of town made the cottage a great location to be able to walk to town centre.
Also the cottage had a huge back yard going right down to the river. The cottage is also located next to the Newcastle Park and the foot bridge over the river. Would have loved to know the history of the cottage and how old it was.
- Paula (9/5): Superb -
