Guest Reviews
- IAN (7/5): - Location, comfort, suited our purposes Lack of instructions for laundry and kitchen appliances, couple of elements on gas stove not functioning, plum tree near front steps dropped plums all over steps making them slippery and messy.
- David (6/5): Just met our needs - Well-situated in a lovely suburb of Launceston. The house has genuine potential. High speed WiFi. Car port for off-street parking. Just enough was done to achieve a reasonable standard. Other properties at this price point do better in delivering a more welcoming stay and complete level of amenity. To offer more detail: front and rear security screens could not be locked; no window covering on the property's only bathroom (overlooked by a neighbouring property); front adjoining room to main bedroom not complete (plasterboard not sealed and painted fully) with one blind missing from a window; no cupboard in second bedroom; coffee machine drip tray missing; exhaust fan over stove top not working; inadequate ironing board; exterior rubbish bins full to overflowing on arrival; and disused rug crumpled in corner of the laundry.
- siew Fun (7/5): Good location, comfortable and clean - Whole house to ourselves. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Availability of washing machine and dryer is a plus. Quick response from owner when we had trouble with the access code to the lock box. Shed that housed the washing machine is not well kept, although the machines are well maintained. Dark garden. 2 layer Front door and back door to the garden but only 1 layer can be locked. Entry to the house garden can be access direct from the front of the house without additional security which is a concern. Therefore, the back glass door has to be constantly locked since the first layer door (net) lock is not working. This reduces fresh air coming in
- Kate (3/5): Disappointing - The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels and hot water. The location and designated parking was helpful. The air-conditioner worked well. We asked for body wash & it arrived 2 days later. The backyard had a long dead rat it in and the garden beds weedy and unkept. The oven spewed smoke out and only one burner on the cooktop worked. No kindling or matches left for using the fireplace. Bedside lamps could not be used as they don't connect to the powerboard. While the manager sends a guidebook in an app, the links don't work so there was no information about using the bedroom heaters. There's plenty of support offered but when you reach out they are unavailable and then blame you for completing your stay.
- Anne (8/5): We would’ve been happy to stay on here in Hollybroke Cottage longer. Definitely recommend it for a stopover in Launcesto - Lovely spacious clean home, very comfortable beds, close to the city and tastefully decorated. Great to have a local coffee cafe in walking distance. Only 2 outside chairs and I small table provided .
With 5 adults staying we would’ve liked to enjoy the outside deck
- Smedley (10/5): Great location, clean and tidy and lots of space! - Clean and tidy. Great location. Has everything we needed.
- Tyler (8/5): - Bathroom door is not closable. Made calls to the nominated number from the booking but still not resolved during our stay.
Provided an extra heater for the bathroom as requested. Great!
Else, all good.
- Paul (10/5): Easy, clean and comfortable - Beautiful place
- Vivie (7/5): Potentially pleasant but a bit scruffy and dirty. - Potentially pleasant place, nice location opposite a park for a walk, run etc. Charming old house, nice old features like doors and old light switches, nice towels, sheets (although weirdly no duvet covers) and comfortable beds, washer/dryer and sink in outside shed, well equipped kitchen, plenty of storage, wardrobes. Could do with a paint touch up as badly scuffed and general upkeep is poor, a bit grubby with dirty hob and cooker hood, messy cupboards with some handles coming off, old food down side of fridge, dirty ill-fitting carpet. One mean, single loo roll for a 3 night stay for 3 people. Washing up liquid and laundry liquid was delivered after asking for it (and 4 empty trash bottles left on the counter). Two wardrobes in one bedroom but with random items in like bins/pictures yet to hang, but no wardrobe in the other bedroom. Whole house could be nice but is just not visitor ready and no real care taken, scruffy garden, nowhere to sit outside. Would only take a bit of effort to sort these problems out and it could be a good place to stay.
- Kathleen (8/5): Good value - Location good Just needs a few repairs for example window in front bedroom would not close
- Naz (10/5): Exceptional - The house has such a beautiful, strong personality, so well decorated and clean Everything was fabulous
