Julius (8/5): Beautifully located and nice standard, friendly owner - The location is quite special with the mountains surrounding it. It is also a bit "far away", but you should know this. I think the standard is very good: the kitchen, the beds etc. It's clean and nice. Very friendly cleaning staff and owner! Free churros on sundays ;) If you are looking for a place in the mountains consider this for a try. I did not know that the place does not have a physical check in desk/welcome staff. You check in by your self, there is not somebody besides the cleaning lady. I don't know, maybe it is informed on the booking site, so I could have a wrong understanding - if so; my bad. The cleaning lady is very friendly, but does not speak english. Not that it is a problem, but it could be nice to have somebody present to communicate with regarding turist questions. On that note, you do have the owner. Who is very nice and easy to get in contact with - I only used digital or phone contact (never met him). He helped me during the storm regarding re-booking and so on.

Levi (7/5): Excellent location, good vibes, but lack of comfort - The location was perfect, we needed a getaway from the everyday buzz and for that La Casita was perfect. We also liked the common areas that was cozy and well equipped. The room itself was very basic with nothing more than a bed. It was also quite cold, and although there was an electric radiator, house rules stated that we shouldn't turn in on before 9pm to avoid overloading hostel's fuse.

Душова кімната знаходиться майже на вулиці, тому купатись в січні було трохи прохолодно, бо вгорі, де знаходиться хостел холодніше ніж на інших частин острова, але це не завадило загальним хорошим враженням ☺️

Sarah (6/5): Très cher pour cet hébergement rudimentaire - Chambre et salle d’eau très propre, heureusement car c’est la seule chose positive. Sauf la très gentille personne croisée le matin, je suppose qu’elle était là pour l’entretien du lieu. Il faisait froid, sol glacial, radiateur rudimentaire qui ne chauffait que partiellement la chambre. Très cher pour une chambre très basique sans aucune déco, juste une chaise pour poser ses affaires, une salle d’eau minuscule et des serviettes propres mais usées, dans un endroit isolé au milieu de la montagne.

Tereza (10/5): Great place, totally reccomend! - - Great location, easily reachable also by the bus (though only a few times a day) - lovely staff and facility, clean - amazing views - even though the nights were cold, we got an electric heater - well equipped kitchen + a very lovely hostel cat Simba ❤️ The social area and rooms are directly connected without any division, which carries the sound a lot if someone‘s speaking in the evening. Would be easily solvable by putting a door in between them.

Dominika (8/5): A pleasant experience in a beautiful setting - Peaceful location, pleasant atmosphere, countryside setting, very clean. In the kitchen you had everything you needed, the host was nice. Every day clean towel, bed made. There are both indoor and outdoor common areas, a beautiful view, and plenty of space for yourself. The doors to all rooms (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen) are old and difficult to open/close. They also do not seal properly. As a result, they are quite noisy because they are hard to operate. During the day this is not a problem, but if the doors are constantly being opened and closed later, when you are already asleep, it becomes unpleasant. The building is old, so noise carries quite easily.
Juhász (4/5): Your satisfaction strongly depends on your expectations, but overall, it does not offer good value f - Perfect location if you are planning to go hiking in the mountains, especially if you prefer nature and like to avoid the crowds. It’s a great place to make international friendships and have personal contact with other guests. You can’t flush toilet paper in the toilet, so you need to collect it in a bin. The bathroom has a terrible drain smell. There is no desk, chairs, shelf, or wardrobe in the room, so you have to leave all your clothes on the floor. Electricity is only available when the place is not fully booked; otherwise, too many people use it at the same time. You don’t have Wi-Fi access in every room.

Gudni (3/5): Vinalegt umhverfi en aðstæður ekki góðar. - Gott vatn var í boði fyrir gesti í sameiginlegu eldhúsi. Vingjarnlegir og hjálpsamir gestir. Það vantaði skriflegar upplýsingar á staðnum þar sem ekki var starfsmaður heldur eingöngu lyklabox við herbergið. Það var mjög hljóðbært milli herbergja og utan frá. Það hefði átt að vera einhver lýsing á síðunni um aðstæður, sem hentað geta þeim viðskiptavinum sem markmiðið virðist vera að ná til. Glugginn í herberginu var lítill og hátt á vegg. Starfsmaður spurði ekki um atriði sem skiptu máli. Það var mikil ólykt í herberginu þegar við komum og þegar við fórum að sofa var hún orðin að klóakfýlu, enginn vatnslás undir vaski á baðherberginu svo ólyktin streymdi óhindrað þar upp, herbergið var mjög hroðvirknislegt og óvandað hvert sem litið var. Að koma þröng og mjög þröngt bílastæði.

Mårten (9/5): - I had a memorable stay there for about a week. I originally intended to only stay for a day but ended up extending for several more days. The beautiful surroundings, Filippos dedication and the nice people I shared the place with made it a memorable experience that compelled me to return each day. Mireyas visits as well as the cat and chicken in the garden was the cherry on top.

Rose (9/5): Stunning hostel location - Stunning location up in the centre of the island with walks on its doorstep. The view out the front is a contender for pic of the holiday. Eating breakfast outside with the sun shining down, as well as the clouds at sunset and the amount of stars at night are memory makers. I in a single room with shared bathroom and I had no problem with access to them. The bedrooms have an electric heater to take the chill off as well as additional blankets. The shared kitchen is clean and functional with 6 tables and chairs. Everything was clean and the bathroom and kitchen bins emptied twice a day. There is also plenty of parking. There’s a communal cat who doesn’t mind a pet or two, and some chickens who wonder into the courtyard to steal his food. It’s not glamorous but ticks every other box. Little annoyance was that my ‘garden’ view room had a car parked 1m from the window but meant I got to spend more time out the front But reason for 1 withheld star is for the amount of broken outdoor furniture, it could definitely be more comfortable for sit outside and enjoy that view.

Morgan M (1/5): Decepcionante - La ubicación Mi experiencia en este alojamiento ha sido decepcionante. Lo elegimos porque andábamos por la zona y se hacía tarde. Hemos pagado 81 euros por una habitación doble (la número 7) en la que el olor a cañería es insoportable, además la habitación tiene humedad y está dotada de una pequeña estufa eléctrica que ya te dicen en las normas que está prohibido encender de 21:00 a 7:00 por riesgo de cortocircuito. El baño es lamentable, una puerta de acordeón más grande que el hueco y como una imagen vale más que mil palabras ahí tienen las fotos. No hay armario, ni cabecero ni una silla o banco en el que colocar nada y para colmo, mientras dormíamos nos cayó una tijereta. Nada recomendable
Loire (3/5): - Le lieu est très calme. Après avoir réservé, réception d'un long message indiquant les détails du séjour. Nous y apprenons qu'il est STRICTEMENT INTERDIT (en majuscule dans le libellé) de mettre le chauffage entre 7h et 21h30 en raison d'une fragilité de l'installation électrique. Fin janvier en altitude (1200m) la pièce (non isolée) est gelée à notre arrivée en journée et elle le restera. Le petit chauffage infrarouge ne permettra pas de chauffer la pièce la nuit ni d'en chasser l'importante humidité. Nous rajouterons à cela une porte de sanitaire en accordeon cassée qui ne permet pas la fermeture, un côté du lit où il manque une prise (choix difficile entre chauffage et lumière...) et des odeurs d'humidité (aucune aération...). Nous sommes resté une nuit au lieu de deux, fuite au matin ! Si cette même liste a été énoncée au service client nous n'avons reçu aucun geste ni retour du propriétaire. Nous avons réglé les deux nuits (160€!) pour en avoir passé une seule dans de très médiocres conditions. À titre informatif nous avons tout de même préféré payer une nuit supplémentaire ailleurs...
Tia (8/5): Cosy stay with a lovely view - The whole property is very cosy, you feel at home. There's a cute cat named Simba always ready for cuddles. There's a lovely view, great for sipping your morning coffee or resting in the evening watching the sunset. The location is a great starting point if you want to go hiking. All the best hiking spots are around La Casita. The cleaning lady came every morning and she was very sweet and helpful. The bathrooms were fine, but we had a lot of troubles with the lock, not being able to lock the door sometimes or open it very easily. It would also be great to have some shelves in the bathroom.

yeshica (6/5): Oke, - Ik sliep op 1 nacht na alleen op de kamer. Het was niet druk in het hostel. Was een hele lieve poes/kater als huisdier. Het uitzicht was fantastisch! Het was erg koud, was erg koud en tocht in de kamer. Er is geen verwarming. Wel een hitter alleen die laat je niet de hele nacht aan staan. Heb de host niet gezien of nauwelijks gehoord. Alleen de code gekregen meer niet.

Aurélie (1/5): Horrible - La vue. Les premiers échanges avec le propriétaire ont été cordiaux. Le propriétaire a accepté de nous héberger (mon compagnon et mon fils de 4 ans) pour une première nuit malgré l’absence de chambre triple, ce qui nous a permis de ne pas rester sans solution avec notre enfant de 4 ans. Le prix de la chambre double (56 €) est correct au vu du niveau de confort proposé. Les deux nuits suivantes, le prix de la chambre tripe est beaucoup trop élevé. Le logement était très inconfortable pour une famille et le prix demandé pour les nuits suivantes (plus de 200 € pour 2 nuits) était totalement disproportionné par rapport à la qualité réelle et aux autres logements disponibles dans la région. Plusieurs éléments ont rendu le séjour difficile : - mobilier extérieur très abîmé, - crottes d’animaux dans le patio et le salon extérieur (mais lavés rapidement) - logement froid et humide, et impossibilité de chauffer vraiment avec mini-chauffage électrique sinon ça faisait sauter les plombs, - absence de rangements dans la cuisine par chambre - salle de bain super sommaire Petite précision : aucun des services annoncés n’était disponible (cours de yoga, table de billard, espace jeux pour enfants). Nous avions vu qu'il y avait des petits déjeuners dans les commentaires, mais il n'y avait rien à cette saison. Nous avons décidé de partir, suite à un échange de plus d'une heure par message avec le propriétaire, et avons perdu plus de 200 euros. Nous avons tenté de communiquer sereinement, pour dire que ça ne nous convenait pas pour un prix pareil. Le propriétaire a adopté un ton moqueur, désagréable, voire agressif, sans jamais remettre en question le logement ou le prix. Les échanges par messages sont devenus pesants, ce qui a renforcé notre malaise. Avant notre arrivée, nous avons reçu un long message avec entre autre les choses INTERDITES à faire (écrites en majuscule, ce qui n'était pas très accueillant) Je précise que je ne me plains pas de la météo (tempête et températures exceptionnellement basses) mais du prix des chambres triples qui est démesuré. Ce logement peut par contre très bien convenir à une personne seule ou à des randonneurs qui dorment en dortoir (prix correcte), mais pas à une famille dans ces conditions.
loik (2/5): Terrible - L’endroit est plutôt sympathique et le concept assez intéressant. Même si beaucoup de finition reste à faire. Nous avons réservé cette chambre en janvier, il faisait 5° dehors et de la pluie.. les draps étaient humides et la chambre non chauffées. Nous avons essayé de chauffer cette dernière par un système électrique qui ne servait strictement à rien. Nous avons donc dû renoncer car il aurait été impossible de dormir dans cette chambre . Le propriétaire a refusé de comprendre la situation et n’était pas sur place pour en discuter ou trouver une solution.

The hostel allowed us to explore the local area and go on wonderful hikes up roque nublo. The hosts were also very helpful and organised taxis for us 😊 thank you

SandraOst (9/5): Cozy hostel with lovely staff - The hostel is super cozy and clean and the staff is just amazing. I felt very welcomed. Everything is spotless and it was a pleasure to cook in the common kitchen. It's well located if you wanna go hiking. I recommend a car but you can also reach it by bus. I visited in January 2026 when it was exceptionally cold on Gran Canaria which meant it was even colder higher up in the mountains. I wasn't cold in the night because the blanket was very warm but during the day I often feel cold. Bring enough warm clothing if you are visiting in the winter.
Adam (8/5): - The owners are great, very good communication. They also brought us free churros on Sunday 🤩 Place has great location for chilling, suported by magical vibe. However I believe it is better to experience it in summer because of how big the altitude is (it was quite cold and rainy). Kitchen was pretty and well equipped. Shared patio and terrace was awesome, as well as hamok and all the tables with view. The heathers provided enough heat for comfort. Enough parking spaces. It is truly special place :) The bathrooms could use some places where to hang your towel or where to put yout stuff. There is no shelf, actually nothing. The doors were getting stuck. Same could be said about the room - it is very big and spatious, yet there is just small table for all your things and just one hanger (which tends to fall down from the wall..). Rooms feel empty and they lack a bit of character - even though it is hostal, i think it could be easily improved. Last small minus - we missed the can opener in otherwise well equipped kitchen :D

Mélanie (7/5): - Le cadre est exceptionnel et le lieu est super bien entretenu ! C'est absolument sublime mais c'est difficile d'apprécier les espaces communs lorsqu'il fait froid. La seule pièce fermée est une petite cuisine. Choisissez bien vos dates ou couvrez-vous bien et profitez de ce très bel hostel et de son emplacement magique !
Maciej (8/5): Really good stay, only a bit far from everywhere ;) - Quiet, nice place. Good starting point to hikes in center of the island: Pico de las Nieves, Roque Nublo... It is good to come with supplies (if you don't have the car), as closest store is quite far, also restarants are not always open. In December it was a bit cold in the common areas in the evenings (but rooms have heating, so ok!)
Claire (10/5): Un coin authentique dans les montagnes - La Casita est un lieu calme et sincère, niché dans la verdure des montagnes de Gran Canaria, idéal pour celles et ceux qui recherchent le repos et l’authenticité, loin du tourisme de masse. L’atmosphère est rurale et accueillante, avec des espaces communs agréables et des cuisines partagées bien équipées. Les propriétaires ont été vraiment gentils, amicaux et chaleureux, toujours disponibles et généreux en informations utiles, transmises avec beaucoup de politesse et de bienveillance. Le dimanche matin, les churros sont une petite attention simple mais très appréciée. Un endroit authentique, parfait pour les amoureux du calme, de la nature et d’un accueil humain. Honnêtement, rien à redire : la chambre était bien aménagée, confortable et équipée d’un chauffage qui réchauffe parfaitement, créant une atmosphère chaleureuse et agréable. Un lieu authentique, parfait pour ceux qui aiment le calme, la nature et un accueil humain.

jehin (1/5): Terrible experience - Disgusting place and Abusive Host - nothing "Absolute nightmare. The room was freezing, damp, and lacked basic furniture. The only 'heater' provided was a bright infrared lamp that lit up the room like daylight, making it impossible to sleep. The host was extremely aggressive and sent insulting, discriminatory messages regarding our nationality. He even deleted his messages after Booking contacted him to cover his tracks. Do not stay here if you expect respect and basic comfort."

Elzbieta (5/5): - The hostel was located in the calm green area. There was no one to welcome you there (the host can only be communicated with through texting) and there was not enough information about the place prior to arriving unless asked. In summary, the place has no common room as it was turned into a dorm. There’s a small kitchen where you can cook and meet other guests, but it gets crowded with 3-4 people already. Although there’s an area with another kitchen outside, you need a proper winter jacket to sit there in the evening as December nights are cold. During day with the sun it’s nicer. There’s also no nearby restaurants that were open and the closest supermarket is 4,5 km away downhill, which isn’t so easy to reach without a car and the bus isn’t very frequent. You need to stock up on food before your stay and make your own food. There’s no restaurant on site nor breakfast with the exception of Sundays. Overall, the location isn’t easy without a car and it’s quite a hike up to start the trail and be near Tejeda around where you can do lots of nice hikes. If you are looking for something sociable with meal service and closer to hiking routes, this isn’t the ideal location. Perhaps better for guests with cars or cyclists that stay for one night and move on. Finally, the four people dorm where I stayed was really tiny and certainly not suitable for four.
