Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (3/5): Promising and then disappointing, owner not contactable, and very overpriced. - The central fireplace was nice - a bit loud though, constant low rattle when it is on. We vacated early (Sunday 3pm) after multiple attempts to contact you. We collectively decided to shorten our stay. Unfortunately, it appeared to have been disrespected by visitors previous to us. We loved the warmth and the space, and the convenience of its proximity to the event we attended. However, there were problems at every turn during our first night and the following day. The power shorted at the front of the house. We couldn't figure out why and exhausted efforts to do so. Sunday afternoon it corrected itself. Cigarette butts were scattered all around the outside sitting area. We don't smoke, so it was unsightly for all of us including our children. We tried to remove majority of them. No heating in one of the rooms! (shares a bathroom between them). The coffee machine doesn't work! We took turns to investigate the problem. It was finally discovered that the area which accepts the pods is missing a piece from the underside, forcing the pods to drop straight through to the collection point without any means to hold them in place to be pierced and the contents of the pods to be extracted. Equally inconvenient - No Wi-Fi. We all attempted to source the problem which was found to be the modem. We weren't feeling generous enough at that point to replace or repair it for you. Yes we followed the instructions - multiple times. Our children are better off for the outcome in my personal opinion. However, no one was pleased. Entry to the house was very frustrating. The door takes two people to open and close. It needs attention. Even worse, we returned to find it opens even without the key! The lock mechanism moves with the key, but the doors can still be forced open. Ants in front bedroom, in the bed! Eight year old was bitten and very upset. He has Autism and took some time to regulate. Not a nice morning. We left Sunday.
- Alek (2/5): Cold. - The location and size There was no heating in the cold this was horrendous, having small kids we all had terrible colds from the temperature and mo heating
- Melinda (8/5): Very good -
- Bianca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paula (10/5): Great place very comfortable could be a bit cleaner - Some of the essentials could have been topped up ( shower wash toilet paper ect)
- Marika (10/5): Perfect - Perfect location and house, for all our needs for the weekend away for the family.
Pool table was a hit with the young ones and the spacious house was amazing. The only fault I could say is the hole in the fly wire door didn't allow us to have the doors open, especially on the warm nights, as have some prone to mozzie bites.
- Sunny (8/5): Good place for a family outing. - Location was convenient. Property has reasonable number of rooms. Pool table and other playing items were definitely a plus. The carpet on the pool table needs changing so are playinh ques as some are missing tips. Vacuum cleaner does not work. It may not be an expectation for us to tidy up the apartment but we treated it like our own home and I was very upset with Vacuum cleaner not working.
- Simon (10/5): The 9 of us enjoyed our stay, it’s location and the facilities on offer. - Location is perfect especially Soverign hill and places to dine out. Ballarat main CBD was only a few minutes drive away so easy to visit. Pool table created lots of laughs and the size of the rooms and house overall accommodated 9 of us without any problems. The bathroom showers are awesome and helped rejuvenate yourself after a full day exploring Ballarat. It was very hot during the first days of our stay and the addition of ceiling fans in the bedrooms would have been nice. Fly screens on the main sliding doors need replacing, so as to be able to have some air blow through the house to cool down.
- Jess (7/5): Good -
- Shirley (10/5): Comfortable accommodation. Plenty of activities to keep children and adults occupied.. -
- Lauren (10/5): Perfect relaxing stay - This is a very warm and comfortable stay. Perfect for our stay, very quiet to sleep. Would stay again.
- Casey (10/5): Very clean, had everything we need and host was wonderful to deal with. Will be back again. -
- Tammy (8/5): Very good -
- Antoinette (9/5): Thanks for providing the space for a lovely family getaway - More than enough space for us, provided everything that we needed. Just a couple of the facilities needed some more attention, the heater was a bit loud, a couple of fridge trays broken, pool table ball missing…small things really.
- Suhith (10/5): A spacious facility in Ballarat near Sovereign Hill - The property was very spacious. It has alot of parking space at the front. It is very close to Souverin Hills approximately 1km. It is about 10 minutes drive into the city. The service was excellent. The property managers were responsive by text message. There was a billiards area. YouTube access on the TV was blocked by the property owners. It might have been nice to have access YouTube on TV.
- Allison (10/5): Dream family stay location. - This house was amazing. Our family was booked to stay at another location, but we chose not to stay there. Within 30 minutes, our family had booked and checked into Shai Beau. Our family loved it so much that we extended our stay by 2 nights. Such a warm, inviting and homely space. Love, love, loved it. Having to leave.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Spacious, fun, perfect for family 4 windows were open where kids were sleeping on arrival, showers could have been cleaner
- Peta (8/5): fabulous accom for a group in Ballarat. - Great layout for a group of 5. Each having their own room. including a dining area, billiard room with two other lounge areas. Bedding was comfortable, and good linen on the beds. Good towel supply, everything you need is there. Washing machine is a great bonus. Carpet in some areas could do with a steam clean, otherwise it’s pretty good
- Allison (8/5): Very good - It was a fantastic space for our family to unwind. We ended up extending our stay as our kids didn't want to leave. The rattle in the gas heater, but it was worth it to have the fire going.
- Burnett (10/5): Wonderful stay - Huge, well set up home. Very clean and had everything we needed. Lots of areas to use and pet friendly.
- Bec (9/5): I think we were lucky enough to book when the place was new, and before it was popular! - Absolutely loved the roominess of the property, so much space. I was worried about keeping warm, but when I worked out the gas "fireplace" it warmed up very quickly. We just closed off the rooms that we didn't use. It's on a "main road" but you wouldn't know it when we were the house in early August. Didn't hear any traffic as we had the house closed up as it was so cold. If you have 2 families it is ideal as you definitely can have your own space. I loved the kitchen, and the big table, massive couches, etc The fireplace does need attention as it was very very loud, but I understand that someone was coming to fix it after our stay. Loved the pool table - shame that others may have damaged the cues. The gate latch broke but it didn't affect us closing the gate. We really struggled with understanding how the TV and washing machine worked. Some instructional sheets or their original booklets on all of the appliances would be very well received.
- Drilltec (10/5): Wonderful all round, thank you. - Wonderful all round, thank you.
- Sue (9/5): Would come back again - The house was amazing we loved the space and pool table Not enough heating the beds could of done with more blankets
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - We liked the size of the accommodation and facilities. It was cold, and we were a little worried about heating in the further parts of the house, but it worked out okay.
Good facilities for a large family. Made a great base for our stay. The kitchen was great and a big lounge for a relaxed night in A couple of extra blankets for the beds would have been good.
Some of our group were dubious about not having locks on the toilet and bathroom doors. We managed okay 😁
- Hope (10/5): Exceptional -
