Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): Well equipped.comfortable beds - Very comfortable and owner was really easy to contact when we had a query
- Konrad (6/5): it just wasn't for us - we paid for 3 nights, moved out after day 1 - Don't get me wrong - it's not a bad place. It just wasn't for us. It was my wife's birthday, and immediately she asked "can we look for something else".
The bottom bedroom was spacious, so was the bathroom (upper rooms were locked so can't comment). It was clean. There were all the cooking essentials (pots, pans etc) and also some spices. Also, there is wood for the fireplace, and coal for the grill - cook away :-)
And, there was a small welcome package - a wine bottle - that we appreciated.
Oh, parking is really outside on nearby village square - the house courtyard is way too small to park, and it's too difficult to steer as well.
And there is a lot of cats. A lot. They will run at you each time you open the door (they expect you to feed them and they insist! :-). I didn't mind, but my wife did. First of all, the pictures of the house are done very, very well - with all lights turned on and with a warm filter. Very ... trickstery. In reality, when we came the place was dark, the air was damp, and it was a bit depressing (it might be different with full sunshine and 30 degrees?). Opening all the windows and starting a fireplace helped a bit - but not enough.
Pictures were done in such a way that you couldn't see old stuff behind the building (rusty wheelbarrow, some broken chairs etc) - puts you off a bit. Oh, and the "garden" is waaaay smaller than on the pictures.
Only the main bedroom has ample light (big windows). The kitchen+living room is rather dark. And damp. Perhaps it's better in summer months.
My wife was a bit apprehensive regarding the cats, so she didn't want to sit outside in the garden - basically the only place for her to sit was in front of ancient TV with barely working remotes, or at the kitchen table, in moderate darkness (yes, we were turning on the ceiling lights at 3pm).
Entrance gate is simply broken - falls of the hinges and drops on the floor each time you open it a bit wider. Bit inconvenient to have to put it back each time.
Bathroom is very cold (April, maybe it's different in July), and since there's no power socket in the bathroom we couldn't use the electric heater there to mitigate that.
There was a mishap with the key lockbox code (we were given one code, and it didn't work, and only later it turned out that the host sent a new code by Booking messaging mere few hours before our arrival - and we driving and didn't have internet access at that time). Also, we booked "the whole property" but the upstair rooms were locked and both codes provided didn't work for that key lockbox - this was a working vacation for me and I needed "an office" / separate room to work, and simply couldn't.
- Maria (9/5): Superb -
- Elena (9/5): Superb - Clean ,comfortable, quaint. Just to note the bedroom upstairs you must come outside and back into the downstairs flat for the bathroom but no problem!
- Styliana (9/5): Pleasant stay. - The place has a really nice kitchen and a fireplace. The keys were easy to picked up. The only thing that was not pleasant was a bad smell that was coming from the bathroom area. The bathroom was clean, but there was a bad smell coming from the pipes.
- Yiota (10/5): Exceptional -
