• Mieke Christine Vera (9/5): - Prettig verblijf gehad in een leuk deel van de stad. Centrale ligging, vriendelijk personeel en erg schoon. Precies wat we van het verblijf hadden verwacht. Er waren zelfs paraplu's die we mochten lenen :) Er viel niets tegen.

• Lena-Aileen (9/5): - Grosse und saubere Zimmer. Reinigungspersonal war top! auch die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich. Die Nachbarn, welche dort Wohnhaft waren, waren sehr unhöflich. Sie haben sie direkt beschwert wenn man auf dem Balkon war. Uns wurde sogar mit der Polizei gedroht nur weil wir das Licht an hatten. Beleidigungen mussten wir uns auch anhören. Dadurch hatten wir auch sehr angst.

Die Straße ist ruhig und doch ist man in 2 Minuten am Galata Turm und im schönen Viertel mit Cafés und Restaurants. Ich habe absolut nichts zu meckern.

El personal encantador. Las camas son bastante incómodas para mi gusto, lo que para hacer turismo no viene bien ya que te levantas reventado. Las instalaciones están bien pero las tienen que mantener mejor, la limpieza bien, aunque tienes que indicarlo tú a diario lo cual me parece raro, pero funciona.

Возникли проблемы с такси, которое мы заказали через отель в аэропорт. Водитель не согласился с суммой, о которой мы договорились в отеле (2300 TL). В итоге я оплатил поездку картой, но обещанная скидка 10% предоставлена не была. Кроме того, с меня дополнительно взяли комиссию за использование терминала водителя. Ночью немного слышно музыку из ночного клуба.

• Emely (3/5): Poor. Don't book it if you like a comfy bed - The hotel is situated just around the corner from the Galata tower with a lot of nice restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations at all. The street where the hotel is located felt more like a dirty backstreet, which immediately gave a bad first impression. The garbage on the photo was spread all over the street when we arrived. Our room was on the ground floor and did not feel anywhere near the advertised 38 m². We were staying with three friends and could barely pass each other. Privacy was very limited: the “windows” of the toilet and shower are far more see-through than the photos suggest, and you can hear everything from the bathroom, which is quite uncomfortable. Our biggest disappointment was the beds: No box spring or slatted bed base but a hard wooden plank with a sagging mattress. Extremely uncomfortable. We have honestly never slept so badly. It was also very hot in the room. Additionally, there is a so-called bar in the room that is completely useless and only takes up valuable space. It was also unclear how to operate the lighting, with no logical switches or instructions. We do not understand where the high rating comes from, probably from people who normally stay in a tent. Of course, we addressed the issue the next day, but unfortunately no solution with decent beds could be offered. Given all of this, we felt we had no other option than to leave after the first night, despite having booked three nights. Our hips and backs were just aching too much. To make matters worse, the hotel marked us as “no-show,” as if we never showed up at all, which meant we would be unable to apply for a refund. This was extremely disappointing. This particular hotel demanded full payment in advance and I now understand why. Good learning lesson, will never do that again. Overall, a very poor experience. We sincerely hope to be compensated in one way or another.

Persoonlijk was ik zeer tevreden over het hotelpersoneel en ik zou dit hotel van harte aanbevelen aan iedereen die naar Istanbul reist.

We had a 40th birthday celebration so the hotel staff were very accommodating and helped so much with letting our family members into our room to decorate it with balloons The lighting in the room we had was quite bad. Not good for a woman who likes todo make up and hair. What’s needed is a main bright light for those dark mornings and evenings :)

• Riccardo (7/5): Base - Il punto di forza del Galata Rasso Hotel è la posizione; si trova vicinissimo alla Torre di Galata, in una zona non esclusivamente turistica, e questo permette sia di godere, appena fuori dalla porta, di una parte autentica di Istanbul, sia di avere a disposizione un buon numero di ristoranti e locali dove cenare e trascorrere la serata. Con una passeggiata di 15 minuti si può raggiungere anche il Ponte di Galata, e da lì le zone di Sirkeci e Sultanhamet, dove si trovano i luoghi da visitare assolutamente in città; ancora più vicina la zona dello shopping di Isitklal Caddesi. La camera aveva dimensioni adeguate ed era sufficientemente pulita (ma questo aspetto può essere migliorato); interessante la soluzione del bagno ‘a vista’ (ma l’illuminazione di questa zona potrebbe essere più efficiente). Ha costituito quindi una base assolutamente strategica per muoversi in una città così estesa. Come ho detto, la pulizia della stanza potrebbe essere migliore, così come l’illuminazione (in particolare della zona bagno – specchio senza illuminazione frontale). Lo staff si è dimostrato professionale ma non particolarmente empatico.

The shower also had good water pressure I didn’t like the flooring in the room—it is close to the shower and seemed damp and damaged. I would recommend changing it.

Unfortunately I did not get the room I had booked and paid for and when I queried this with reception I was dismissively told to change my booking on booking.com. Lights were very dim so the room was dark all the time. Very noisy until 5 in the morning. I doubt I will stay here again.

• Rui (10/5): Calm, relaxing, central - great value for money. - The hotel is just a 2-minute walk from Galata Tower, but on a quiet, peaceful street - a catch in such a central area in any tourist destination city, really. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed and a very nice bathroom. I stayed on the third floor facing the back and was treated to a beautiful view over the rooftops of the Old City, with its hilltop mosques rising in the distance (not the view from the Hilton - this isn’t a 5-star hotel - but a great view nonetheless; I just like to keep fellow travellers’ expectations in check). And a bargain - you’ll pay more at a 3-star chain hotel and get much less. Great value for money. Will definitely stay again. And friendly staff. Honestly, nothing that bothered me. If I had to nitpick, a couple staying longer might have wished for a slightly larger closet. But for me, everything was just right.
• Sebastian (8/5): Great place when it comes to value for money, in a very convenient location. - Great and super convenient location - very close to the Galata Tower, supermarket and restaurants. Perfect starting point for daily sightseeing. My room was out to the back - here you won’t hear anything from the outside. The rooms are not fully sound proof, the neighbors can be heard above and next door. If you want to sleep early, bring earplugs then it’s totally fine. Besides that it was quiet from midnight onwards until the morning.

• Christina (10/5): Friendly, clean and well thought out design - I loved the fast communication and the surprisingly peaceful location, moments from the Galata Tower, but most of all I liked the thoughtful design. The bathroom was really simply and beautifully thought out and the room didn’t feel small because of the entire wall of glass sliding doors (which you could open) looking across to the blue Mosque. The staff were really helpful and friendly. None, but I don’t think the reception area design does the hotel justice! So I would ignore pictures of that.

Staff was very helpful with every request with had, we asked for extra blanket, for iron and they delivered it in few minutes. Front desk was always up and was really friendly and nice. They helped us with organizing transfer to the airport for a fair price. Overall, it was a good stay.

• Ekaterina (6/5): Great value for money but unsafe - Premium room is spacious and clean, location is stunning We arrived at 6:30 in the morning and were peacefully sleeping at noon when two stuff members just opened our room’s door and insisted they “check the door” and did not agree to do it in the afternoon because “it’s already afternoon”. I have no idea what they needed to do as they had never explained it to us but I decided to cancel my next booking at this hotel as we didn’t feel safe as women traveling in Turkey
• Noeleen (9/5): Friendly hotel in a vibrant area - We had a very pleasant 3 night stay at the Galata Rasso Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was ideal, as it's around the corner from the Galata Tower which is surrounded by great cafes and restaurants. We enjoyed spending our evenings in the area as it's very festive and lively. The hotel is also a 5 minute walk from a metro station for easy traveling. The bathroom is smaller than I expected, but still consider this hotel value for money considering its prime location.

The room was also very nice, clean, and it was great to have a balcony. The only negative point was the shower drain which was clogging if the cover was left in place. This seems to have been a problem in the past as well, as the laminate around the bathroom was swollen and squicky. But these were minor details compared to the great stay we had. 😊

• Alya (10/5): Cosy rooms with very helpful staff! - Located only a 2 minutes walk away from Galata Tower. Lots of places to eat nearby. Hotel staff was extremely helpful, with everything we needed help with and even went out of their way to help us find ferry boat to bursa and tours around Istanbul. Room was fully equipped with everything we needed, iron was available on request. The view is not great because it is in a back alley, but that also meant the rooms were quiet in a very active neighbourhood so I didn’t mind.

It is quiet (if the room is facing the back yard) The hotel is poorly managed. The staff are lazy. For example we asked for wine glasses and the receptionist brought us tea cups because he said the glasses were “dusty” The rooms are not clean with stains on the walls. The windows were dirty. The shower gel provided was just too bad by any standard. No shampoo or conditioner.

Whenever we activated the clean-up service in our room, no one came to clean it. After a short time of use, the bathroom developed an unpleasant odor. Additionally, there was a scratched, damp ceiling, likely caused by the steam. This is why I felt it was necessary for the room to be cleaned every day.

Excellent WiFi. Comfortable beds. New and white towels. Room cleaning, although only on request, is good. It is surprising that the hotel has such a high rating on Booking. The main drawbacks: Located on a terrible street; I have never seen a dirtier place. Hard to get to by car/taxi. The lobby definitely smells like sewage; luckily there was no smell in the room. The appearance of the room has little to do with the photos. The furnishings are basic, without any amenities; there is not even a chair in the room. The storage space (wardrobe, lockers) is scarce, on the other hand, there is a huge counter with an unclear purpose. Toiletries are in unlabeled bottles. In general, for the same or slightly more money, you will find a much better place.
