Wir möchten uns recht herzlich bei allen bedanken 🙏 Wir haben eine 3 tägige Buschtour über das Hotel gebucht und können es nur jedem empfehlen! Ich bemühe mich immer bei lokalen Anbietern zu buchen und das war ein voller Erfolg! • Michel (10/5): - A wonderful homestay with very clean and spacious rooms, a kitchenette, and outdoor seating. We felt comfortable and welcome from the very first moment. The hosts are extremely warm and helpful and give great tips for excursions in and around Maun. Tours can also be booked through them. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights there and would come back anytime. Thank you for everything!

• Luisa (8/5): Hotel rudimentario pero digno - Aunque no estaba incluido el desayuno, lo encargamos y eso encareció un poco la estancia pero estuvo muy bien organizado, en un jardincito muy agradable. El personal muy amable. La ubicación del hotel estaba un poco alejado del centro. La piscina no la utilizamos pero no hubieramos podido porque era del tamaño de una bañera. Muy rudimentario aunque limpio.

Very clean and spacious. Secure parking, swimming pool, places to sit outside. Owners went out of their way to store our bikes and bags while we went on safari.

Die Besitzer Lasch und seine liebe Frau Cay sind extrem hilfsbereit und liebenswert. Sie helfen, wo sie nur können. From the moment I arrived, the owners welcomed me with kindness, generosity, and genuine care. After many years traveling and living abroad, it felt like finding a place of peace and humanity. They were truly a God-send during my time in Maun. What inspired me most was not only their hospitality, but also the spirit of the community around them. The connection between people, culture, and the land here has deeply moved me. It reminded me why places like this are so important for healing, creativity, and community. I am an emerging contemporary artist and founder of a cultural initiative called House4Love. After 36 years in the diaspora and many years working with artists in places such as Ruigoord in the Netherlands, I have come to Botswana to explore the possibility of creating a small cultural ecology studio and workshop space where art, storytelling, nature, and community healing can meet. The kindness of the owners and the beauty of their community has inspired me greatly. I hope to learn from people here and understand the land and culture with respect. I would be grateful for any guidance they may be willing to share as I continue to explore this vision. Thank you again for your generosity, warmth, and the peaceful space you created. • Nina (10/5): - The rooms are incredibly clean, and for such a low price the comfort is really impressive. Room: there is hot water in the bathroom, and the room itself is beautiful, very well maintained, and smells fresh. There is access to cups, coffee, tea, bowls, as well as a fridge and a microwave. Outside the room there is a large shared space where you can relax, with books, a swimming pool, and a very peaceful atmosphere. I also cannot forget to mention the owners. They are VERY friendly. Their children also surprised me a lot. They have three sons. The youngest completely stole my heart. But the two older ones are also incredibly well-raised. The boys are very helpful, open, intelligent, and also funny. Talking with them feels like talking to adults. I don’t know how you did it, but you can be very proud of them! :)

They kindly allowed me to check in early, which I really appreciated. I had initially booked for two nights but needed to extend my stay, and they went out of their way to arrange additional nights for me without any hassle. Their hospitality and professionalism made my stay very comfortable. Everything met my expectations.

Not sure if standard for Maun, or Botswana in general, but the staff advised us not to walk to a nearby restaurant (1km away) and take the car instead.

You feel like a part of their family I booked trips with them, both a day trip to Moremi and a camping trip including a mokoro. Everything was perfectly planned and I was very well taken care of.  The rooms are nice and well cleaned. I felt safe and cared for.  Highly recommend if you are in Maun. They offer state of the art accomodation in a peaceful area of Maun, and arranged a very well organized overnight mokoro trip, which I can highly recommend as well. It s a great place to stay if you like to connect with people and but you dont have to if you prefer just to rest. Really nothing

• Abby (10/5): Loved it! - We loved our stay here and would happily return! We were booked in for a camp site at another accommodation and last minute did a same-day booking for golentle as we were struggling with sickness and needed a place to rest with aircon and some home comforts. Golentle was perfect for us. It's family run and they were so friendly and took great care of us. Shout out to Kalesha (oldest son who is at highschool) who chatted to us each day, gave us so much information and cooked us dinner and breakfast. He is fantastic, has great work ethic and is going places! Their youngest son Sasha was 5 and the absolute cutest! We made good friends with him and enjoyed his cat whispering skills. Not a major but the door to the cabin had a gap between the frame. This allowed a lot of wasps and mosquitoes in. Golentle warned us when we arrived that we may have a problem and provided bug spray. But just be prepared to do some bug wrangling

• Saskia (9/5): Well worth the price - Kay was very sweet and welcoming! Allowed me to retrieve some cash (via card payment) so I could take a taxi to the city. The beds are COMFORTABLE which is so rare!! I love a cushy mattress and there was a duvet, even though it's warm I need a duvet to be comfortable so that was amazing. Several pillows so I could position them how I needed. I also got picked up at the airport as it's my first time in Botswana so I wasn't sure how it worked. It made the transfer to golentle that much easier, but if I were to go again to Maun I'd take out some cash at the airport and take a local taxi as it's easy to do, 16 pula (1€ vs 4€). The airconditioning worked very well, well lit room, location is walkable to big street to get a taxi, there is tea and coffee provided in the room. The towels were a bit small for me, I think a travel size of shampoo (rather than just 2 body washes) would be useful. There was no hand soap (only body wash) for the sink. The pool was not clean when I arrived, lots of leaves, dirt and insects, I ended up just soaking my feet. Besides the pool, these are so minor as many people will bring their own products/towels. I would stay here again, it was worth the price for me.

• Roisin (10/5): Great family run guest house, which makes you feel welcome and is very good value for money - This is a great family run guest house that really is value for money. It's very good value for money. The rooms are spacious and clean with air conditioning. It's situated in a local neighbourhood that's close to shopping facilities and the centre of town. There's ample, secure parking available and space to load / unload your 4x4 vehicle if you're doing a self drive safari. We will definitely stay here when we're back in Maun. The bathrooms are a bit small.

The host and their family have created a truly special place with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. The dinners prepared by their son were outstanding — every meal was delicious and made with care. We also joined the Moremi and Mokoro tours organized by the host, which were unforgettable experiences. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and attentive, always ensuring we could capture great photos and enjoy the moment. On the Moremi tour, we were incredibly lucky to see four of the Big Five - all that can possibly be found in the Okavango Delta. Our guide’s determination to find a leopard after hearing reports from other guides was truly impressive. Golentle is a place full of heart, authenticity, and great adventure — highly recommended!

• Martine (10/5): Fantastisch verblijf, zou het zeker aanraden! - Wat een fijne plek is dit!! Je wordt zo onwijs gastvrij ontvangen en geholpen met van alles. Ze bieden ook ontbijt en diner aan. Diner hebben we alle dagen afgenomen en wat hebben we lekker gegeten! Kalesha kookt erg goed en bedient je ook als een professional aan je eigen opgedekte tafeltje. Er moest ook even iets vast gezet worden aan onze auto en ook daarbij hebben ze geholpen. Goed om te weten is dat je ook je was kunt laten doen voor een schappelijk bedrag. Niets. Wat wel handig is om te weten is dat ze ook excursies aanbieden (Moreni, Okavango). Wij wisten dat niet vooraf en hadden dus zelf al alles geregeld. Maar vraag ze gerust naar de mogelijkheden.

• Denise (9/5): - Golentle is run by the nicest couple Kay and Lesh. The airline mislaid our baggage for 6 days. Kay was very helpful in helping to deal with the airline plus advising us where we could go to buy clothes for our planned safari. Our bags turned up when we were on safari. Kay collected them for us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They are cleaned every day unless you say otherwise. If you want to cook for yourself and you find you are short of equipment, speak to Kay or one of the staff and they will sort it. The guest house also does breakfasts and dinners. We thoroughly enjoyed our safari. It was well planned, and we were well looked after by Lesh, Kalesha, Doctor, and Polite. Kalesha and Doctor, thank you for the great meals, never been fed so well. Polite, thanks for keeping our tent clean and tidy. Lesh is an excellent driver and guide, very knowledgeable about the animals and plants. We saw lots of both. Going back to the guest house after the safari was like going home. If we go back to Maun we will stay here again. Kay and Lesh thank you to you and your family for making our trip so enjoyable. N/a

The food was excellent and staff all friendly, nice family run business. I was told we would be able to go on a cultural tour but didn’t find out until that morning that it wasn’t possible.
