Guest Reviews
- Asher (4/5): Disappointing - I liked that the owner was helpful in returning my lost wallet.
The design of the room is nice, there are a lot of books to read.
Overall it has kind of a peaceful, free love vibe. The happy cat goes along with that, it literally jumped into the boot of my car while I was unpacking. I stayed in August, and the room was terribly cold, despite having a small radiator heater turned on all night. I will explain why shortly.
Underneath the bed is a row of 4 long drop toilets, still with their seats attached. In Maori culture it is considered sacredly forbidden to sleep near a toilet, yet my head was on top of literal matter. Mind over matter, get the joke?
The room itself isn't a 'cabin', it is a outdoor toilet building, and they've built a custom bed frame on top of the toilets, they have not dismantled or filled the toilets in, they've built the bed ON TOP of the toilets.
The room is cold because there is no insulation at all, there's also no double glazed windows.
I could have had a peaceful moment to rest, but as soon as I realised there were toilets underneath my head, I could not relax at all, so I was awake all night long. A very pleasant stay! I don't mean to rag on these guys, but I think that is kind of disrespectful towards your guests.
