Guest Reviews
- Andrew (5/5): Great location and price - appartment could do better - There was no bedding apparently available for the side bed and the mattress for the double bed is very old and seriously needs replacing for an appartment in such a good location
- Jennifer (10/5): Picturesque Flat, Well Appointed. - The location was really perfect for the two things we wanted to do in London: attend services at St Paul's and Westminster Abbey. it was a half an hour walk to each church. Guests should be aware that the large windows in the the living room have blinds for nighttime but don't block the night completely! any light sensitive people may want to bring eye masks. A minor thing, though, really.
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- Vicki (10/5): Apartment was clean, in a great location - Amazing location, apartment was exactly what we needed and had everything we could need
- Valeria (6/5): Very noisy. - Location during the day ( not night) Next to shops, restaurants, theatres and metro Station. The apartment it is very noisy, bad isolation in windows, neighbours very noisy ( Washing machine at 4.30 am, under construction next door). For a family of Three it was uncomfortable, no place to put our things. Old rugs, cupboard full of things. The communication was good in time and kind.
- Kirk (9/5): Really good, great host and amazing location. In all excellent. - Great location, excellent Swedish bakery/coffee shop downstairs. Large main kitchen/dining/lounge area with good facilities. A little “tired” decor, bathroom was on the small side with no shelf space.
- Chirag (8/5): Very good -
- Nicholas (10/5): Amazing place, would stay there again when back in London. - Perfect location, clean, hosts were great. Only downside is no AC. But this is disclosed ahead of time. Fan was provided.
- Victoria (9/5): Simply fabulous - Really cute. Perfect location in between Covent Garden and Leicester Square
Worked well for the three of us.
Host very helpful and we were able to drop our bags off earlier which was super helpful.
Fully recommend x I drew short straw and got sofa bed, daughters had comfy double bed!
- Jane (9/5): Very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Thank you - Location brilliant, ideal for theatres and tube stations.
- Mm (6/5): Alright - The location is very good in a very centric area. However, it is a first floor with no views. There is no microwave, the towels are small, there's not enough cutlery, the matresses are not the most comfortable ever. The very centric location makes it a noisy area. The luggage storage is not included in the price, they recomend one to you but you have to pay for it separately. The fridge's door doesn't close correctly. We couldn't contact the contact number they gave us, as we had phone numbers from a different country. The wifi is a bit slow.
- Liv (8/5): Was a nice and tidy small apartment, the owners were really accommodating which was lovely! In a perfect location for ju - How close and convenient the location is. The apartment was a perfect size, also had just about everything! No covers for spare blankets, pillows or sheets to use for the sofa. Not having a microwave. But made use of what was available. Not having access to the tv (no Channels to watch news or any live tv, and other tv apps unless you logged in with your own account)
- Rebecca (6/5): Great stay, great location, host very helpful but would’ve loved a full length mirror near a plug. - Location was great. Key pickup and drop off seamless. Tube stations nearby and perfect for anyone staying in Covent Garden. Apartment is down a lovely little alley with a gorgeous bakery below. Wi-Fi was patchy and as a result watching the television was an issue as it frequently buffered or wouldn’t open the apps.
Absolutely no mirrors in the apartment that we found other than the bathroom which has no electricity outlet nearby. Travelling as 3 women we needed to go and buy mirrors to get ready with - use hairdryer/straighteners etc.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - The location is exceptional. From the flat much of London is an easy walk or quick access to any form of transport. Also, to be self-sufficient with a washing machine and close access to shops, with the Swedish bakery downstairs a special treat. It would have been helpful to have a microwave oven in the flat.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Rod (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (3/5): Disappointing and annoying - Great location in central London on cute little side street I was not initially provided with bedding for my child to use on the sofa bed. This created some angst and was a distraction from enjoying the special night away I had planned for my child’s birthday. We were then given the code for the linen cupboard, but it was not especially well stocked and I had to give him one of the 2 pillows on the double bed. The main bed was small and you could feel the springs. The sofa bed was also uncomfortable. The bedding was cotton, which was nice.
It looks much nicer in the photos than in reality. Really quite tired looking.
One of the lamps didn’t work and the fridge and freezer were all frosted up.
Noise from upstairs apartment (due to poor insulation rather than being inconsiderate) and the street.
It was hot and there was no fan. I was reluctant to open the window in view of street noise
I found it irritating having to pick up and drop the key of at a shop down the road rather than at the property. Whilst you are encouraged to drop the key back to the shop it doesn’t open until 1pm, which is past the check out time. so I ended up taking the key back to the unit and leaving it inside.
My phone didn’t detect the Wi-Fi network details given to me by the host (I didn’t think it was an issue with my phone as it is a new iPhone with a UK sim). The phone and internet signal on my phone was poor, which made things tricky eg when I needed to connect to the booking.com website to get the code for the linen cupboard. To be fair we were only true from 10pm-9.30am so I didn’t report it.
- Molly (10/5): Great stay in Convent Garden - The location is perfect. The owner was as accommodating and understanding as possible. No complaints. As described
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - Gem apartment was in a perfect location for our trip. Everything was perfect, communication was excellent. Would highly recommend.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- David (7/5): Good needs new bed and pillows - Location close by Prefer the keyed code/lockbox …one key makes traveling separately somewhat difficult.
- Marsha (1/5): Unfortunate change of apartment - Unfortunately this accommodation was flooded the day before we arrived and the proprietor moved us to another location. The location was great The apartment had very inconvenient aspects and many things were broken when we arrived. There were very few outlets for appliances and charging ports were non existent or had to find. There was a very scary spiral staircase to where the bedrooms were and although there was a heater in the basement the bedroom was very cold. The contact we had told me we were only allowed 1 key to the apartment when I requested a second key. When she told me I could not have one I was very upset.
- Katja (9/5): Superb -
- Mohsin (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was clean and spacious for a group of three people. Location could not have been better. The host was helpful and responded to messages within seconds.
- Debbie (7/5): Cute and cosy apartment in a great location. - Great location Very Noisy, Pillows were very lumpy.
- Boyanka (8/5): Very good - Nice small apartment on walking distance of many attractions It was very cold on arrival - no heating. On the second day after we turn on the air conditioner I can say it was OK.
The bed for my son was uncomfortable.
- Barker (10/5): Very good - needed to make up my own bed couldn't find all the bedding I needed, so made do. I was however contacted to let me know that the cleaner had forgot to make up the bed and where I might find the bedding
- Brandon (5/5): Best location but issues outlined in survey. - Location Broken washer dryer, wifi spotty, slow inadequate management response, no luggage rack, loud street noise, upstairs tenants cello player, no toiletries storage in shower, small washroom, sink had tiny space for toothbrush etc. , bed uncomfortable. Should inform renters about these things so they know what to expect.
- Simon (6/5): Pleasant - Truly can’t beat the location right in the heart of Covent Garden and above a gorgeous bakery. The apartment is spacious and light filled. It was perfect base for our family of 3 during our stay in London. Whilst the host is incredibly friendly, communication was lacking at times. Upon arrival, the washing machine was broken. This was not communicated to us until we reached out to the host questioning the situation. The machine remained broken during the entirety of our stay.
The apartment could benefit by providing a small manual on how to use its facilities, eg TV, washing machine, etc.
The wifi struggles during peak times in the afternoon and evening.
- Leon (4/5): Disappointing stay - The location The washing machine didn’t work. The TV worked only on wifi and was intermittent with no access to free to air. The bed is very small and uncomfortable. Rang the owner who said she would send someone around which never happened. Subsequent calls and messages went unanswered. Would not stay again especially at the price.
- Nikoleta (8/5): Recommended for its great location, but it needs extra care to justify its price. - Great location! Very accessible with public transport, plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars, pastry shops for every taste. Cosy, spacious and bright enough, clean, easy to communicate with hosts, sufficient kitchen equipment. We were allowed to drop off our luggage earlier than the check-in time and to keep them inside the appt later than the check-out. Bed was quite uncomfortable, especially when you look for a good night sleep after a long day. Washing machine was not working, and we had packed considering that it did. The host arranged fixing immediately when it was reported, however that would be after the end of our stay. It was very noisy during the night which made us to wake up multiple times, especially because of the garbage collection and the washing machine from the apartment on top of ours. Considering the pros and cons, the value for money was ok-ish for centre of London, but it could be much greater.
- Craig (7/5): Central location perfect to go see the sights. - Location was literally off the high street Better sound proofing in the property.
- Nir (9/5): Great experience - The apartment is located in a beautiful colorful alley in ground zero of covent garden. It was about 5-15 minutes pleasant walk from any attraction we thought of. The hosts were very communicative and helpful and allowed us to leave luggage for a few hours after checkout which really helped us. The apartment is located directly on top of a fantastic swedish bakery which supercharged the entire experience with their enchanting smells and delicious buns and cookies and bread every morning. Wifi is based on cellular reception and that just wasn't great when we were there possibly because of the multitudes of people in the neighborhood.
- Aline (6/5): Amazing location and nice hosts but could be more comfortable bedding and nicer furnishings for the price - Location, well equipped, responsive host Main bed is small. Not comfortable.
Overpriced, even taking into account location
- Michael (10/5): Excellent location - Fantastic location only minutes walk to Trafalgar and Leicester squares, picadilly and theatre district. Also an abundance of pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from.
Hosts were also easily contactable and happy to help out. Thank you very much.
- Yunus (7/5): Good -
- Bahern70 (9/5): Superb - Great location in the centre of Covent Garden close to theatres, shopping, restaurants and direct train to Heathrow within walking distance.
- Ashley (7/5): Great location if you're a heavy sleeper! - The location is great. Just a few minutes to two tube stations. So many great spots to eat and shop right outside the door! The convenience of a kitchenette was great. Private bedroom was also a plus. The rings felt very homey and warm. Hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. Process to get keys was simple and quick. It was very noisy. Not a lot of extra bedding. Washer/dryer combo lacked the ability to clean and dry clothes.
- Alice (9/5): Cute apartment close to everything! - Great location! Everything is so close - shopping, theaters, 2 tube stations.
- Amanda (10/5): Wonderful stay - This is a fantastically located apartment. Close to theatres, shops and restaurants. There was nothing to dislike.
- Matt (9/5): We had a great 3 night stay, thank you. Would definitely stay here again. - Owners are very helpful with great communication. They also live not too far away and will sort any problems out should they arise. Excellent location in the middle of Covent Garden right near numerous bars, restaurants, bakeries, shops etc and within 2-7 minutes walk of 3 tube stations. Could perhaps do with a microwave, although I'm not sure there's room for one in the kitchen area (there's plenty of cooking utensils, pot & pans etc for the oven).
Three things, none of which are a reason not to stay here as the apartment is great:-
1) There are no Freeview tv channels you can tune in (we just wanted to chill with the tv on for an hour at beginning/end of sightseeing days). There is only Netflix, Amazon Prime & YouTube available (account details are on a leaflet in cleaning cupboard if you don't want to use your own). This is connected through the internet via a remote box on the windowsill. If you have any problems getting connected to the internet to get the TV stuff on - turn off/on the tv and the router at the plug.
2) Tbh it was freezing in the middle of the first night in bed as the heating went off on the automatic timer. We did change the settings slightly the morning after (changed it back when leaving), so it's possible to set how you like it.
3) Whilst on a side street off Floral Street, it can be fairly noisy around this area and the windows aren't double glazing. We stayed at a weekend and it did also quieten at a certain time, so was quiet throughout the night. Also, the bins at the end of the street were emptied every morning at around 0715 and that would be an alarm clock in itself.
