- Pierre (10/5): - Très joli lodge, notre coup de coeur parmi les 5 de notre voyage pour un prix plus bas que la moyenne. L'emplacement est parfait, proche des cascades de La Paz et du volcan. Les trails proposés au départ du lodge sont très sympathiques et passent à travers les pâturages. La chambre est spacieuse et très propre. Le seul (très petit) bémol est que la volière à côté de la chambre est un peu bruyante mais ça ne nous as pas vraiment dérangé.

The hotel was super clean, and the whole place had a really calm, peaceful vibe. Staff were all really friendly, and the food from the on-site chef was so good. We loved the walking trails on the property and the proximity to Poas Volcano. Easy parking. Comfortable with kids! The kids loved the two peacocks.

Ça n'a presque pas changé, la décoration est magnifique. Personnel très serviable. Je n'ai pas eu la chambre demandée. Il y a 2 types de chambres. Des bungalows et des chambres dans le bâtiment principal. Lors de ma réservation, mon choix de chambre était dans le bâtiment principal. J'ai eu un bungalow. A l'arrivée j'ai demandé directement a changer . On m'a répondu pour 1 nuit,pas les 2. Le garçon de la réception m'a répondu qu'il donnait les chambres selon les infos fournies par Booking. Hors j'avais sur Booking une chambre dans le bâtiment principal. Les personnes logent 1 nuit en général, l'endroit est tellement beau que j'en ai pris 2. Le lendemain j'ai réitéré ma déception....et là, on me dit qu'on aurait pu me donner 2 nuits et que si j'avais demandé à une des jeunes femmes,cela aurait pu se faire. Un voyage que j'organise pour retrouver un lieu superbe....et cela a été gâché! J'en suis vraiment triste. La réservation était faites depuis 3 mois.

Delicious breakfast, so beautifully served in a gorgeous private dining room with glass windows all around, to soak up the views while breakfasting. Morning walk on private trail to giant ancient tree was great, so were the free use of black rubber boots. Loved it! And the little begonia greenhouse is a hidden gem. Very peaceful place. Would go back in a heartbeat.

The main building which had been a private home is stunning with a conservatory and a library . Views of birds with binoculars provided ( we were in cloud though and didn’t see any) . Catalina on reception was very helpful and friendly . There were lovely walks around the property . Nothing comes to mind

Auch das Abendessen war sehr gut, tolles Ambiente im ganzen Hotel. Schöne Umgebung mit 3 Wanderungen in der näheren Umgebung, Lage für den Besuch Vulkan poas perfekt. Es war sehr sehr kalt im Zimmer, gab zwar Heizdecken, aber der Raum war einfach kalt. In der lobby und im Restaurant wurde mit Holzöfen eingeheizt, das war super. Leider war bei uns kein Zimmetservice nach der 1. Nacht, die Handtücher konnten aufgrund der Kälte nicht trocknen. Wir haben aber auf Nachfrage frische bekommen.

- Michaela (6/5): Nächstes Mal lieber im Haupthaus - Es war eine schöne Unterkunft, das Frühstück war toll. Es war grundsätzlich eine schöne Unterkunft, jedoch waren wir nicht im Haupthaus untergebracht, sondern in den Zimmer etwas Abseits. Diese rochen sehr klamm und auch die Betten/Bettwäsche war klamm,
- Stephanie (5/5): Ça aurait pu être bien.... - S'il avait fait beau : l'emplacement qui est magnifique avec des randonnées qui partent de l'hôtel. Les infrastructures (la maison principale avec ses divers petits salons, la salle de billard...). Le petit déjeuner avec de très bonnes crêpes maison. Le Lodge est grand mais... Tout d'abord je voulais dire qu'il est très rare que je mette un avis négatif sur un hôtel alors que nous n'y avons passé qu'une seule nuit mais je pense qu'il est important de faire remonter les informations que je n'ai vu nulle part dans les avis postés. Nous logions donc dans le Lodge, il y avait une simple bruine dehors, ce qui, dans cette région, est plutôt normal... La toiture est en tôle, surplombée d'un arbre assez imposant. La condensation de la bruine sur les feuilles crée de la pluie et celle-ci se déverse sur la toiture dans un bruit amplifié par la tôle à un point qu'on ne peut pas imaginer. Bref, dans ces conditions, impossible de dormir. J'en suis même venue à télécharger une application pour calculer les décibels et le résultat est sans appel (voir photo ci-dessous). Nous aurions été plus au calme dans la voiture mais pas à 4. Le matin nous en avons fait part à la réception qui nous a dit texto "C'est la nature, c'est comme ça !" Pas une excuse, pas un geste commercial. Je ne pense pas que ce soit la nature qui a mis un toit de tôle sous un vieil arbre pour une chambre d'hôtel à 350€/nuit et pour le coup ne pas dormir ;) Attention, si vous souhaitez y rester plusieurs jours, les accessoires de cuisine sont quasi inexistant et ceux présents ont eu la vie dure. La salle de bain est très vieillotte et pas impeccable. Je ne doute pas que par temps sec le logement soit agréable ainsi que les autres chambres proposés mais dorénavant vous êtes prévenus.

Eigentlich auch nett eingerichtetes Zimmer aber..,, ….es war überall so kalt dort. Im Zimmer nur ein Heuzlüfter. Der machte aber nur so überschlagen. Sonst in den Räumen Miniöfen. Aber man fror. Trotz vieler Klamotten. Das war sehr schade.

- Leonardo (8/5): Great place to stay, staff is very attentive, and the ambiance is very cozy. - Even though the breakfast is included in the rate, we didn't eat it as the options are only eggs and waffles. For the standard of the place the breakfast should be a lot better. There are several places around the area with cheap and great Costa Rican breakfast therefore the hotel should raise the bar In general, the food is just average, The menu is limited and the quality can be a lot better. This definetly is the weakness of the lodge

- Dawid (8/5): - Beautiful design and location, with lovely hiking trails. Charming room. Very good breakfast and nice restaurant, great pool table. It was very cold, especially on the first night when it was windy. I read that there are fireplaces, but there are actually these small stoves that you can't really get warm with. There are electric blankets in the room, but in our opinion it shouldn't be so cold, especially for this price. Bring very warm clothes!

- Kati (6/5): - Friendly staff. For the high room price, outdated, not very clean, damp room, very weak to zero wifi in room, no heating just a tiny heater, limited breakfast options.
- Nir (9/5): Nice lodge - The food for dinner , living room, garden Our specific room was ok. It seems the rooms in the main building are butter.
- Ingo (8/5): - Das sehr ausgiebige leckere Frühstück, sehr gemütliche Aufenthaltsräume sehr schöne Außenanlage. Wir haben manchmal ein bisschen gefroren, da der Frühstück- und Abendessenraum wenig geheizt war. Leider war doch recht viel Straßenlärm zu vernehmen.

Very muddy, unkept hiking trails. - Main building was beautifully decorated and architecturally interesting Room did not look anything like picture: it was a cabin outside of the main building. Front desk person was distant and not terribly helpful on both days (same person). Breakfast and dinner menus were minimal with uninspiring offerings. Food was minimal but nicely prepared.

- Sara (8/5): Beautiful views and serene surroundings - Amazing views of the valley and the volcano. Great little café nearby with milkshakes, and we ended up walking right next to the local cows on our way back. Really likes the common areas in the house as well! A bit cold inside, prepare with clothes. We were waiting a while for our breakfast in the morning despite specifying time. Got a bit tight for the time set for going up to the volcano.
