While the location is a bit of a trek from the city centre, it's very manageable. There’s a bus stop just two blocks up, making it easy to reach the main attractions

Il personale è scortese e mentre mi facevo una doccia alle 19 è entrato uno dei ragazzi a cambiare le buste del pattume, senza dire niente, mentre io ero sotto la doccia nel bagno delle donne
• Bayer (10/5): Friendly stay and great atmosphere - I really enjoyed my time at Mad Monkey Village, the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. Everything was overall good, just sometimes a bit busy. But it didn’t really affect my experience.

Seems like there is always someone cleaning which is a huge plus considering there are a lot of people staying there. Also a few nice activities like coffee Sunday mornings. A little further from the Esplanade than other hostels but not a bad walk at all.

Il clima generale che si respira nell’aria, ambiente giovanile ma rispettoso! Lo staff sempre gentile, disponibile e presente! É tutto molto ben organizzato e flessibile. L’applicazione per poter accedere alla camera, al luggage room é molto comoda! A 300 mt è presente una palestra convenzionata che costa solo 5aus per due ore! É presente anche un desk per prenotare vari tour. La ragazza è molto disponibile e competente! La Cucina é ben attrezzata, camere, cucina e bagno sempre puliti ! I fornelli andrebbero cambiati perché solo tre o quattro hanno molta potenza

A special shoutout to Megane and Jen, who truly made my stay unforgettable. They went above and beyond to make everyone feel included, organized great activities, and always had the best energy. You can tell they genuinely care about the guests and the vibe of the place. The Sunday coffee moment was honestly one of my favorite parts of the week — such a simple but perfect way to start the day, meet new people, and ease into that relaxed Cairns lifestyle. And the taco event? Absolutely legendary. Great food, great music, and the kind of atmosphere where everyone just clicks instantly. And honestly, the whole team deserves recognition — friendly, helpful, and always ready to make your experience better. If you're looking for a place with great people, good vibes, and an unforgettable backpacker experience, Mad Monkey Village is the place to be. I’d 100% come back!

Need to walk a bit to go to the city .. but that's good cause really quite at night 🌙 😌

• Maximilian (10/5): Cairns best choice - Real good Hostel located in Cairns center. Cool staff is making sure everybody's needs will get satisfied. Its unstrained, since there’s cleaning ever day. There's a lovely pool surrounded by palm trees for a nice tropical setting. Another highlight is definitely the sunday brunch, where there’s cake, biscuits and coffee!!!

Close to bus stations. The cleanness of plates and cutlery provided (i suggest you bring your own). The internet was only good in the common area.

I also completed the check-in registration as requested. I arrived at the hotel at 23:45 and proposed three payment options to your staff: paying by card on-site, paying in cash, or paying the next day, but all were ruthlessly rejected. I was exhausted, it was raining heavily, and I was a woman alone on the streets of a foreign country late at night. I asked your staff to plead with the manager, but he replied that his request had been rejected and there was nothing he could do. Your hotel's actions infuriated me. I have traveled to nearly 40 countries worldwide, and Australia is the sixth country on this trip. I have never encountered such an inhumane and unreasonable hotel. You are colder and more rigid than zombies. I hate you.

• Chiara L (8/5): - Lo staff è stato gentilissimo, purtroppo in quei giorni la piscina era completamente inutilizzabile, per via di alcuni danni causati da una signora in agitazione psicomotoria, che aveva anche spruzzato la schiuma dell'estintore sulla piscina. Spero che abbiate potuto recuperare al danno subito, mi è dispiaciuto solo non poter utilizzare la piscina con quel caldo afoso! Grazie per tutto il resto!

Il personale è disponibile e gentile(ho apprezzato molto il drink di benvenuto), è inoltre disponibile un centro informazioni per tutte le eventuali attivita nelle vicinanze, tra cui la barriera corallina e la foresta pluviale poco distante. È presente una spaziosa cucina e un ampia area comune in cui è molto facile socializzare con ragazzi di tutto il mondo. I bagni penso siano ristrutturati da poco, il getto delle docce è potente e vengono puliti piu volte al giorno; c'è anche un'area adibita al prendere il sole in cui è presente una piscina e dei gazebo. Il rapporto qualità prezzo da quel che ho visto è il migliore nella zona di cairns città.
• Alivia (10/5): Great place to stay for travelers to meet other travelers. - I was traveling with a friend and we stayed in a mixed dorm. The staff was so helpful and the roomies were friendly too. We cooked in the large communal kitchen and swam in the pool! We also met some fellow travelers from all over the world and shared stories. That was the best part! The only thing is the heat. But the rooms are kept super cool!

However the room was very clean, the air-condition was working perfectly and it was clean and exceeded my expectations I only stayed for one night so I guess it wasnt long enough to judge that part
