The ladies were amazing and even fixed us a breakfast to go before breakfast hours so we could make our outing for that day. And the breakfasts were delicious!

The courtyard and ambiance make you feel relaxed and at home. The staff was kind and attentive, and the location was perfect for exploring Quito. Everything was very good overall.

The breakfast was nice.The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. The staff is one of the highlights: Jessica, Katy, Selia and Luigi are all so nice, kind, patient and 100 percent willing to help. Had a great experience with this hotel.

- Petersen (10/5): My new home in Quito! - The team at Casona Tobar is incredible! From the moment we arrived - travel weary after a full day's worth of multi-modal travel from the Galapagos - they made us feel welcomed and right at home. A member of the staff met us outside the hotel's gate to make sure we made it in okay, and then were eager to see that we had everything we needed to be comfortable for a short night, in advance of an early am departure for the Amazon basin. From restaurant recs for the evening to a bag breakfast/lunch to take along in the am, since we'd miss their usual breakfast service, and arranging a taxi for us in the morning, we felt very warmly received. Every request we had was met with a smile and excellent service! The property itself is very interesting, and we wished we'd had more time to enjoy it and meet other guests - it seems to be a full-service hospitality operation, with a variety of co-working areas, a lovely internal courtyard, a bar, and even gallery spaces and meeting rooms. We didn't have time to inquire about a full tour/orientation, but the creative design and management of the space is abundantly clear! The location was also superb. We could walk thru the historic city centre for a delicious dinner out, enjoying the beautiful colonial-era architecture of government and other civic/cultural buildings thru the evening drizzle. I fantasized about an early am run up the skinny steep streets of the city, but couldn't rouse before dawn from my comfy bed, so will look forward to that upon my return. I can't think of a thing!

- Alessandro1979 (9/5): - Sicuramente la cortesia di Jessica, Luigi e di tutto il personale che lavora qui (non so il nome di tutti), disponibili se si ha bisogno di taxi, uber, deliveroo ecc...e sempre sorridenti e collaborativi. La posizione del hotel è centralissima, a pochi passi da molte piazze principali e dal palazzo del Governo. Le camere ampie e pulite, letto comodissimo, bagno moderno e funzionale con acqua calda e una ottima pressione dell'acqua. Ci sono molti barboni e indigenti in zona, non danno fastidio (almeno non a noi personalmente) quindi nel tragitto per arrivare al hotel a piedi dal centro c'è un aroma disgustoso. Ovviamente non dipende dal hotel ma è uno dei pochi difetti che potrei dire di questo posto. Altra cosa, c'è poca varietà di colazione, noi siamo stati una settimana e abbiamo visto sempre la stressa colazione e poi non hanno la parte ristorante ne il parcheggio (è un casale antico, ben tenuto, ma è sempre nel centro storico quindi il parcheggio è un problema se uno ha la macchina propria). Per il lato ristorante mi hanno detto che sono già in programma di farlo a breve.

Breakfast was good with fresh fruit and yogurt and eggs and coffee. The rooms are a little small and didn’t have great airflow. Wish we had a bigger opening window or a ceiling fan.

It was beautiful, great location, comfortable beds, soft towels, great showers, tasty breakfast, and all the staff were incredible. They let us store our bags while we went to Galapagos for a couple days, were very cautious about safety in the evenings around the hotel, and were amazing with arranging multiple airport shuttles.

- Floriana (10/5): - Struttura coloniale rimasta intatta nelle sue origini, una delle più belle di quito, arredata con gusto e molto accogliente. Pati incantevoli con numerosi spazi per rilassarsi, leggere o anche pregare (è presente una piccola cappella). Molti complimenti alla ragazza dello staff, sempre pronta e disponibile, gentile ed educata, e anche al giovane pizzaiolo (sempre sorridente e amichevole). Ci ha fatto molto piacere aver conosciuto il Proprietario: buona fortuna a questo splendido posto, che raccomandiamo a tutti. Posizione non pericolosa in pieno centro storico di quito, abbiamo girato di notte in due e non abbiamo mai avuto problemi.

- Feng (4/5): I would give a rank between 3.5-4. - The location is great, in the center of several attractions. The staff was very friendly. The hotel door was locked and had to be opened from inside. We had to ring the door bell and wait every time we returned. There was no food ready in the kitchen even though it was ranked high.

- Andrea (10/5): Acogedor - El trato del personal es muy bueno, su ubicación cerca de plaza San Francisco etc. Tomar en cuenta que no es accesible para personas con movilidad reducida, ya que no hay rampa y se deben subir varias gradas; además es un poco difícil la recogida frente al Hotel ya que no se puede estacionar ahí.

- Vilma (9/5): - Location, breakfast and reception were amazing .. friendly...Due to rain could not really enjoy nice indoor yard for the breakfast...was freezing in Quito. In the heart of the old town you can easy hang around. Certainly not to miss if you just for one day in Quito.
- Carolina (10/5): Funcionárias nota 10 - Nunca vi uma equipe de funcionárias mais simpáticas e atenciosas na vida. Todas muito queridas, sempre preocupadas com nosso bem-estar. O hotel fica muitíssimo bem localizado, fizemos o centro histórico todo a pé, e olha que estava com minha avó de 95 anos. O único problema é se a pessoa tiver problema de mobilidade porque pra chegar na entrada do hotel tem de subir uma escadaria. O quarto era ótimo, assim como o café da manhã, com ovos, pães, frutas, geleia, iogurte. Tudo uma delícia! A cama, extremamente confortável. Certamente me hospedaria lá novamente. Adorei Quito e os equatorianos. Nada.

The staff was always readily available and attentive, making me feel at ease throughout my stay. They met me at the door, transferred my luggage, and even helped me with my luggage during checkout. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the location couldn’t have been better for me. I enjoyed taking short walks around the area, and the hotel was conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the city center. Navigating the streets was a breeze, thanks to the hotel’s proximity to a church and bus stop. I highly recommend staying at this facility when traveling to Quito I would definitely stay there again when I return. Right now, there is nothing that could make this stay any better it was just right for me as a solo traveler

The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, providing hospitality so warm and welcoming it felt as though we were staying with family. Our room was clean, spacious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The location was perfect for sightseeing, with the historic town within walking distance. Highly recommend this property for your stay. A change in the breakfast menu from one day to another would help. That said, there were plenty of inexpensive options for breakfast nearby.

- Derrick (10/5): Don’t hesitate. It’s a great place to stay. - The people were friendly, helpful, and dedicated. The hotel is located near Plaza Santo Domingo and within walking distance of most tourist attractions. My room was well laid out with convenient storage and a nice bathroom. The second floor common area was great for reading or hanging out. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The bed wasn’t a queen, as advertised. The entrance is up some stairs off of Avenida Maldonado which may limit access for anyone with mobility challenges.
- Alejandro (10/5): - El alojamiento está genial, muy limpio, espacioso, cómodo y las chicas son super atentas y amables. Por desgracia el último dia tuvimos una mala experiencia con el bar. El chico que nos atendió fué bastante desconsiderado, pedimos 4 pizzas de diferentes sabores, nos puso todas del mismo sabor y muy quemadas, a cada cual peor. Le pedíamos que nos las cortara en 6 porciones y una detrás de otra las cortó en 8 y mal, haciendo como si no nos escuchara. Finalmente, y quedando un rato para la hora de cierre se esforzó mucho en hacernos sentir incómodos y echarnos del lugar, cerrándonos las puertas y hablándonos en tono cortante, de hecho nos fuimos en cuanto acabamos. Teniendo en cuenta que tampoco fue precisamente barato nos quedamos con muy mala sensación. Por otra parte Viviana fue muy atenta y se esforzó mucho en hacernos sentir confortables en ese escenario. Este asunto se conversó con Viviana quien nos ofreció disculpas en nombre del hotel, por ello y por la atención especialmente de Paula, Katty y Catalina en nuestra estancia, nuestra calificación no será menos de 5 estrellas, muchas gracias por ello chicas

El personal extraordinario en su atención a los clientes, supera todo, muy amable, gentil y con mucha disposición y otorga confianza. Fenomenal todo Nada

- JOSE (10/5): El hotel perfecto para descansar y disfrutar de Quito. - Casona Tobar es sencillamente espectacular, la habitación, el servicio, la comodidad, el personal son súper amables y dispuestos a colaborar en las necesidades que los huéspedes tengan. El desayuno es muy rico. La ubicación es perfecta para recorrer el centro colonial de Quito y demás sitios turísticos de la ciudad. Definitivamente el hotel es excelente para hospedarse en pleno centro histórico de la capital ecuatoriana. Todo estuvo excelente.
