Guest Reviews
- A (8/5): - Very well equipped
Well appointed A covered outdoor space would’ve been great as I love sitting outside even if it’s raining
- Gijs (10/5): Geweldig - De host was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam, het huisje was schoon en voorzien van alles.
- Degroot (10/5): Porongurup holiday - I really liked the bluff knoll and granite skywalk . Also liked the old police museum. We both had a lovely time there will recommend this to my friends and family. There was nothing I didn't like I had a really good time.
- Karen (10/5): Making Christmas memories with our adult children. Our first family short stay in years. - Cody feel. Hosts concerned about our wareabouts. Always happy to assist if necessary. Parking right beside the chalet. The only toilet in the chalet in same room as shower @ laundry with no separate door allowing private use if someone else in the bathroom/shower. We were are adult family of 5 needing a little privacy.
The stairs a little daunting, open slatted steps, not very wide a little awkward especially coming down them. Suggest adding a sign ‘Mind Your Head’ from landing strap down as tallish sons & hubby sconed or nearly their heads a few times.
Suggest adding a sliding door on bedroom 2, as is on the Double bedroom for privacy and noise reduction in place of the curtain door, as also the sensor light on stairs upper shines directly into the 2nd bedroom partly onto the bed on the right in the room.
- Tamara (7/5): Charming but needs some upgrades - It was unique & had charm. The location was great and it was easy to find as well as access using hosts information. The interior was very old and dated, particularly the bathroom, which needs major upgrades. There were slugs coming out of the shower.
- Katie (9/5): -
- Anna (10/5): Magical, cosy stay in the forest :) - Magical location. Quiet and well catered for. Cosy vibes and great communication with the host. Just needed some heaters upstairs
- Whitey (10/5): Superb location close to attractions and places to drink & dine - The location, privacy and overall the accommodation was awesome Parking area could've been a bit bigger
- Jenna (9/5): A great location for a quiet get away exploring the local area. Would visit again. - The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area. It was beautifully quiet but the facilities allowed me teens to still access WiFi when required.
The beds were very comfortable. The cabin smelled good on arrival, was decorated nicely and had great kitchen equipment.
The cabin looked well equipped for cold weather with electric blankets, heaters etc.
The grounds were decorated nicely with lights and well kept. A wonderful ambience. Unfortunately we arrived on a 30+ degree day so it was quite hot inside. We used fans but there is no aircon that we could see.
The first day there were ants over the fridge but insect spray was provided in the kitchen cupboards and we had no further problems with bugs.
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sueann (10/5): Perfect stay for Porongurup / Stirling Range visit - What a gem this place is!! Definitely my best stay on booking.com ever
Trish was a super helpful and responsive host from day before check-in till check-out. The house was very clean and was pleasantly surprised to find that the kitchen was well-stocked with basic cooking needs, so all you need to do is bring groceries! The bed was nice and cosy. :) Loved the surroundings, be sure to go around and spot the little gnomes in the garden. Located about 10 mins drive to Granite Skywalk and 30-40min drive to Buff Knoll - easy drives!
- Lynne (9/5): Superb -
- Gemma (8/5): Very good - Location, clean and i like the A-frame design cabin. Can hear noises outside at night and the internal door doesn’t have double lock to feel safer.
- Kiran (9/5): Clean & tidy place, very welcoming host (Trish). Well worth staying. - Location is perfect because it is within short distance (approx 3 km) to the car park to Nancy Peak hike and to the Castle Rock walk car park (approx 5 km). The property is perfect for small family as it has 1 room with double bed and 3 single beds in the adjacent room. Host Trish regularly messaged us through booking.com from the day we made the booking to the very day we checked out with updates and information! Check in was a breeze (she texted us the code for the doors including codes for wifi and Netflix). The place is cozy and very clean and tidy! For anyone visitng Porongurup for the first time, there are plenty of information (leaflets) at the property. The day before our checkout, Trish texted us again to inform us to take our time to check out even though the check out time is 10 am, she told us it is fine as long as we checked out by noon! :) Our friends next door had issues with the gas while we were out hiking but it was promptly sorted by Trish! We have been to Porongurup few times before but it was our first time at the chalet and we liked it very much. For our friends, it was first time to Porongurup and they thoroughly enjoyed the area as much as they enjoyed the lovely chalet! We will definitely be back again. Thank you once again for your warm hospitality Trish. The only thing that some might find inconvenient is the location of the toilet as it is located downstairs while the bedroom is upstairs therefore, if you have to get up in the middle of the night to use toilet it can be inconvenient but that is how the design of the place is.
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Beautiful and clean chalet in a fantastic location. I could stay here forever. Birds , trees , and the skywalk was absolutely incredible There's nothing to not like about this place
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (10/5): Cozy chalet in a great location. Perfect for a Porongurup break - Fantastic location, cozy chalet, welcoming host and everything we could need to use in the chalet was covered.
- Adele (10/5): Peaceful, comfortable and very cosy - The chalet was amazing. The location and surroundings were amazing and the facilities were very well catered for and thought of.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and easy to talk to.
Will definitely recommend these chalets and we can’t wait for our next trip there ! Nothing to fault at all
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stacey (8/5): Great stay, ready to explore! - Cute little A frame house. Great location as a base to bluff knoll, castle rock, Albany Would love a little front balcony on the house to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings
- Lew (9/5): Cosy and quiet accommodation - Little details such as sharp knife, warm metal bars outside shower to warm up clothes, multiple hooks to hang stuff stand out. Close proximity to Stirling Range of about 40 min drive and quite a few attractions in the surrounding area. Convenient as about 20 min drive to Mount Barker to get grocery from IGA. Quiet and cool environment. Just a suggestion. The bathroom is very spacious and has separate area for bath and toilet, but only one door. So the user has to lock the door whenever he or she is showering or using the toilet. There is drawable shower screen for the bathing area, but nothing for the toilet area. Perhaps it can also at least have some sort of cover, eg: similar drawable screen, so it can allow separate use concurrently.
- Eric (9/5): Very comfortable, peaceful getaway - Very well appointed throughout Curtains in master bedroom let a lot of light through from 5.00am so it was difficult to sleep in
- Leslie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danica (9/5): Very relaxing and comfortable stay. Highly recommended for all nature lovers. - We like the location, clear instruction for arrival, friendly host Trish, comfort and surroundings. We appreciated nice and clear instructions about food and drinks, little booklet with local places to eat. TV didn't work at all, we just could not connect to the watch anything.
The internet and wifi signal was very weak, even with Telstra. We have been advised in the welcoming email about it.
- Josceline (10/5): Exceptional - Everything from the beds, amenities and the surrounding wildlife was amazing!
- Kirsty (10/5): Exceptional - 2nd time I've stayed. An amazing little home to stay in always so welcome and nice. The bed I wish I could bring home with me best night's sleep I've had in a very long time .
- Saengchan (9/5): Superb -
- Stephina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (9/5): Superb -
