• Martijn (1/5): Horrible communication. Not worth it. - Location was good, what I liked most was leaving. Atrocious communication. Received an email and sms asking for driver’s license and booking details at 6.17am. Responded within a minute. Arrived at the property at 4pm, contacted them on mobile phone, no answer. Could not get into the property. Took 30 minutes, including the support of the real estate agent (yes property is for sale). Beds are shit, I think you have a better mattress in an ecuadorian prison. Place is almost impossible to lock as the lock was broken and was fixed by some handyman with no skill. This place is NOT worth the money, not worth the stress. Go stay elsewhere.

• caroline (7/5): Difficult check in process - Decoration, terrace, location Staff was not responsive at all. Didn’t share the checkin instruction and code before 5pm when check in was at 2pm and I have sent all required info. Keep in mind that they will ask your driving licence (don’t ask me why….) to provide the code. And you won’t receive the code quickly. I have sent my licences 3 times called them 5 times to always arrive on a voice mail and receive afterwards automatic messages. Super disappointing as the house was good

Sitting on the back deck at night was very relaxing. The beds were a bit too hard for our liking and a doona would have been nicer than all the blankets.

• Emma (8/5): Nice location, loved the artwork in the house. - The house was beautifully presented. We liked the paintings and the ornaments, and the privacy. I liked that there was lots of kitchen bench space, and plenty of crockery and kitchenware. The heating. The only heating was two very heavy portable heaters that weren't plugged into powerpoints and were a mile away from them. When you've got a bad back, you can't lift such a heavy heater and carry it over to the powerpoint. Fortunately I had managed to squeeze a very small lightweight heater into my luggage. I'd done that just in case the heating failed, but never dreamed it would be all we had- or that it would be on us to supply our own! So our stay was pretty cold. Also the hand towel rail came off in my hand as soon as I touched it. It needs fixing.

• Linley (1/5): Unhygienic bedding and a dismissive attitude from the property made the stay unacceptable. - The unit appeared charming and neatly presented at first glance. Serious cleanliness issues with the bedding, compounded by an unhelpful response from the property. Although the beds were neatly made, we found hairs from previous guests under the sheets, on the quilts, and visible stains. This was not limited to one bed — all beds were affected. After using a pillow, my daughter developed an allergic reaction on her chin. When we raised our concerns, they were dismissed, and no remedial action or alternative solution was offered. As we were uncomfortable using the bedding, I slept on the sofa, while my daughter laid a towel over the sheets and used a throw as a blanket. Clean bedding and a respectful response to concerns are basic expectations, and unfortunately neither was met.

Couldn't find WiFi though. But other than that i would recommend for sure WiFi as the signal inside the house was poor

Slept 5 adults comfortably, very clean, all amenities supplied, great price. Would stay there again and recommend. A little bit of dust on bathroom windowsill but this was minimal. Overall, very, very good!

• Kathryn (9/5): Owl house was a peaceful stay that felt like home , the host was a delightful. - We had a wonderful experience at the Owl House, where everything was impeccably clean and well-equipped for our stay. The bed, pillows, and sheets were just right, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. Additionally, the kitchen was fully stocked with essentials for cooking, making our time there even more enjoyable. The shower is positioned over the bathtub, making it quite slippery, so you need to add non-slip mats or strips for safety, especially since we are in our seventies and must be extra cautious. Additionally, the lawn and the edges around the fences and stairs require mowing to elevate Owl House to a perfect 10 out of 10.
• melanie (9/5): Great location and pet friendly - Loved the location, very close to the beach, well maintained and clean property with a fully fenced backyard which is perfect for pets and young children. The back balcony is covered, there is a nice table and bbq which I assume could be used by guests. The beds were very uncomfortable, but that was my only complaint, I would absolutely go back. It didn't affect me, but they probably should get rid of the small tank/barrel from behind the shed and close off the area next to the hot water service to make the outdoor area safer for young children and small dogs.

• Jane (8/5): Great little house , needs some extras - Quaint little property. Clean with plenty of outside space. The mattresses have had their time and need to be replaced. No full length , no food storage containers, no bug spray (ants do appear when cook top turned on) and no ironing board.

We had a good time there and slept well with a nice comfy beds. Massive front and backyard, plenty of space for parking. It ‘s only 10mins drive to Coles,center of Cowes and the beaches. We were extremely happy there, felt like home. It was an awesome recharge for us. We definitely come back to stay again for our next trip. Highly recommended !!!!! Nothing

The house is equipped with everything you could need - plenty of kitchenware and we loved the big plushy towels. Having the front and back patios and big yard made it easy to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and weather. The house is spacious and was extremely clean! We will recommend this property to others visiting Cowes and stay again if we return. Thank you! The shower didn't drain overly well.

The accomodation is very clean with everything y - The property was clean and accommodated our family needs during our stay. The property felt warm and cosy. We loved eating on the deck outside while overlooking a clean spacious garden that the kids loved to play in. The supply of extra blankets was super thoughtful. All dishes were properly cleaned too and there was a very cute set up of the mugs and glasses which was inviting to make a cuppa! If I had to provide any feedback it would be to supply specific glass cleaner for the glass table (I am super clean person and would have liked to have wiped this properly and effectively after our children ate) the multipurpose spray wasn’t great for the glass and also it would have been handy to have a little vacuum (even a small handheld one) just to maintain cleanliness during our stay

The basics were offered, but it would be lovely if there were some staples in the cupboard like tomato sauce etc as there is barbecue supplied. There were 3 different diffusers in the house with 3 different scents too, which I must confess was not very pleasant. Could watch tv and no pay tv as internet was very hit and miss but I think it was the reception.
