Guest Reviews
- Ursula Brown (10/5): Beautiful view - Everything
The views
The cabin
The clean air
Had a yarn with the owner he was very nice and friendly sorry didnt get his name.
Was very beautiful and wifi was fast Bed was hard but comfortable maybe a mattress topper
- Emily (9/5): Peaceful getaway - Beautiful and peaceful property. Great location near the town with a cute market on Saturdays, near hikes and close to the coast. Would recommend and stay again!
- Jordan (7/5): Very nice, very comfortable, private area super welcoming. Watch out for ants. - Location was good, easy to get to and from other places. Everything was super comfortable, aircon and internet were easy to use and access, beds were great shower was nice after being rained on. Everything was super clean, however there were small ants in and around the kitchen and eating area. Not a massive deal, but we had to throw out some food that they'd got into. Likely just a biproduct of being in a cabin, so we weren't too fussed.
- Dee (7/5): A terrific place to escape for a few days with everything you need. - It’s very peaceful & has a beautiful view, with abundant birdlife A bit dusty, needs a good spring clean.
- Amber (8/5): - Very cosy little cabin in a great spot. Had all the basic needs, would definitely stay again. The owner was helpful on the phone when talking about late check in. Ants were an issue but thats just Queensland!
- Valerie (6/5): Position was nice but not much to do in Yandina. Cottage was acceptable - NA A screen door would have been good.....a hand rail on the front steps should be a necessity as older folk we had difficulty getting up and down especially as it was raining.
- Sean (9/5): -
- Skye (10/5): Incredibly relaxing stay at a beautiful place that had everything we needed - The location and view from the cabin was incredible. Such a great spot Nil
- Tina (8/5): This spot is a great place for clamping as it is set on a lovely water front - Nice and peaceful spot, very private great little cabin for a couple of days away It would be nice to have a fan out on the porch to make sitting out there on a hot day more comfortable, and would be good to let guests know hot water tank is very small
- Shirley (10/5): The cabin had everything that you would need for a stay it was peaceful and easy to find - Peaceful and a lovely outlook Nothing
- Lyn (10/5): Definitely the place to go for a destress - Everything such an amazing place Nothing
- Edward (5/5): - Nice location. Peace & quiet. The deck with bbq & seating was appreciated when the inside was so cramped. This is advertised as a 1 bedroom cottage which we thought was not an accurate description. It’s a “studio” arrangement in a 20 ft container which is very cramped for a 4 night stay. There is a lot of movement when one person is walking around/having a shower. We were surprised no previous guests thought to mention a true description.
- Rachel (7/5): - Good spot out of the way
- Michael (10/5): -
- John (6/5): Beautiful setting on the river, with a comfortable bed. - A lovely, peaceful location. It is outside the town of Yandina but not far out and easy to access. The cabin itself was very small. It wasn't a real issue during the day because we were able to use the outside sitting area at that time. In the evening it was too cool for that and there is little room inside.
The tv reception was very poor but I suspect that was the signal in that particular location rather than the tv itself.
- Jennifer (8/5): Comfortable cabin - Great location for working in Yandina. It felt friendly and secure, and I was able to save on eating out by having cooking facilities. There are a few things that could be improved to meet the value charged for the room: 1. The WiFi signal drops out constantly, sometimes for hours, so the router is obviously not strong enough to reach the cabin. 2. The shower head is too generous for the hot water tank (only 25 litres). A more efficient shower head would allow for a longer shower than 2 minutes. 3. The indoor element is very slow for cooking, and the outdoor gas BBQ is too. I had to remove the grills (which weren't clean) and cook on the lower flames to get any pan action. 4. I only tried the TV once, but the image was really grainy and in strange colours.
- Ian (5/5): Lo very setting. Otherwise so-so. Showers hot but didn't last full shower. Lighting poor. - NA Having power on the Thursday
- Mandee (10/5): -
- Greg (8/5): - Lovely stay, beautiful grounds, very private, fairly basic but comfortable accommodation, will definitely keep it in mind for a return stay All good
- Isabella (7/5): Good -
- Holley (9/5): I love the peace here! I am not very good at relaxing but here I lose track of time. - I love the whole property and being so close to the river. Nothing to say, we love everything.
- Frank (7/5): As above - Clean, nicely presented with more than the usual domestic facilities made available. Nice quiet location with nice views. N/A
- Jane (8/5): beautiful location, quiet, simple ,clean and comfortable accommodation - N/A N/A
- Holly (8/5): Very good - I loved the accommodations that the owner provided us due to weather, it was so greatly appreciated. I felt super safe staying there The door didn't lock properly (I had to use my full weight to lock it)
- Madonna (8/5): Thank you for a great two nights -
- Anna (8/5): Just what we needed Tku - Small easily fixable things such as:
Needed somewhere to put toiletries in bathroom. and A drying rack for towels to hang outside.
Screen on front door would be good as windows were screened.
Bed Linen was very musty and not fresh to sleep on
Fridge was dirty and freezer unusable. Still had previous tenants food iced up inside
But, Ambience fantastic peace and quiet fantastic. Will definately be back😀
- Tyler (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracy (10/5): Perfect Anniversary Getaway - A quiet location, private and secluded, just perfect 👌
The hosts were so helpful, before we even arrived. They considered our safety and comfort at all times.
We were there for Yandina Five'O', which unfortunately was postponed due to weather, but we still took the opportunity to enjoy some much needed downtime to celebrate our 3rd anniversary.
The room was quiet, and the bed comfortable with everything we needed. We even enjoyed drinks by candlelight on the verandah.
We will definitely stay again.
Huge thank you for all you did, Ginny & Mike There's really nothing we didn't like.
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (8/5): Beautiful and relaxing. - The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful.
- Holley (8/5): We loved it and never wanted to leave - Location and gardens were spectacular It would be great to have a bit of a privacy/rain cover on the front deck
- Daniel (9/5): Cozy cabin, nice surroundings. - Cozy and perfect for 2 people.
- Dallas (9/5): Superb -
- April (10/5): Exceptional - Incredible cabin and views. A very wonderful place to stay, especially for some peace and quiet 🙏🏻
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Very scenic and peaceful. Beautiful rainforest-like vegetation Nothing that I didn’t like
- Madonna (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (9/5): A beautiful setting, with peace and quiet in abundance, yet so close to Yandina. - A very peaceful setting, but so close to Eumundi for family.
A quiet, tucked away surprise. Set beside the river was very special. Nothing.
- Casandra (9/5): Superb -
- Tiana (9/5): Perfect stay. - Everything about our stay was what we needed. A beautiful area just on the river, although there was campers and caravans on site, the location of the cabin on the property was in the perfect place to feel secluded. Facilities were great and so entertaining. Having a fire each night was perfect. BBQ for cooking. Staff were amazing. Any little thing I needed they were more than accommodating.
Great stay. Will most likely stay again. Nothing comes to mind
- Dianne (10/5): three rivers - privacy and river view couldn't stay longer
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location yet accessible to town Nothing
- Kamal (8/5): Very relaxing environment enjoyed our stay - Not applicable No space to store clothes, bathroom area very narrow
- Erica (9/5): Superb - The cabin was clean, the bed very comfy, it had everything we needed for our short 3 night stay. The setting was very tranquil, and well cared for. Extremely happy. Will visit again. Next time for longer.
- William (8/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would do it again. - It was comfortable and only 4 minutes drive from town. It would have been helpful to have even a hook to hang clothes on.
- Laura (9/5): Beautiful retreat - Loved everything - location, fishing possibilities just outside cabin door. Unfortunately, the weather decided to do an extraordinary thing....rain for 36 out of 48 hours we were there.
But we'll be back.
- Jennings (9/5): A very relaxing environment, would be perfect in the summer months. - The owners and caretaker were very helpful and caring, helping where ever they could to make our stay pleasant. Not a lot of sunshine in the winter.
- Emily (10/5): Peaceful - Privacy Power outage in morning we checked out, husband missed out on shower.
- Francis (6/5): Handy location with rainforest feel;close to river. Was a little mould , noise at night from trees - Handy Location, rainforest appeal some mould around in room.
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful location Nothing
- Karolina (9/5): We have been there 5 nights and we are very happy. Magical place with such a great morning view of the river! - Beautiful surroundings, so quiet, you can really relax there if you are looking to escape for a bit. Very comfortable bed. Close to everything, great cafes and restaurants within 5-10 min drive. There was an option for a fireplace too. Also great owners, really helpful people. Basic equipment which was actually ok but would be helpful to have a small washing machine and a dryer as well as a hairdryer too :-) and maybe more shelves to unpack suitcases- just a bit of advice but it’s not necessary as you can find lots of laundromats within a short drive. So in total it is a really nice place!
- Cilento (9/5): Superb -
- Bridget (10/5): Beautiful little cabin with a lovely view - Absolutely everything, it was perfect
- Dylan (10/5): Exceptional - Great location especially if your a nature lover! perfect for a weekend away and still a close drive to the coast.
- Deborah (6/5): Comfortable, private and lovely surroundings and a great deck to sit out on. - The location of the property is lovely and the grounds around the cabin are well kept. It was nice to sit on the large verandah in the morning with our coffee and the "bar" in the afternoon for end of day drinks and just watch the pond and the river just beyond. Fish jumping all the time. The cabin is secure and dry - we had one night of just continual rain. Water pressure was good in the kitchen and bathroom. All cutlery was supplied and a microwave and small fridge. Lovely clean tea towels and washing up equipment plus a board across the sink for extra bench space which is a great idea and a small dining table with 2 chairs. Bath towels were lovely and clean and very adequate - towels, hand towel, bathmat and face washer. Bed was adequate - take your own pillows but I find anywhere we stay there's always a problem with the pillows. There's airconditioning and a ceiling fan with light. The hosts were friendly and supplied some information about the cabin and surrounding area which was helpful. I refer to this a comfortable but it depends what comfort means to you. The driveway in was really steep and there's no driveway as such to the cabin so it was boggy to start with after all the rain we've had and more so with one night of solid rain. We have a 4WD but I doubt an ordinary car would have got in and out. There are two camping spots as well, one had a tent on it the other a caravan but that driveway is so steep I don't know how they got that van onto their site. The only cooking facilities were a microwave in the kitchen and a small bbq on a small bench on the deck which would have been great except the BBQ was filthy, obviously not cleaned by the previous occupants. There's no hanging space and two bedside tables with two small drawers and only one lamp. My clothes fit in the small bedside drawers but my husband had to live out of his suitcase and there's really no space to do that. The shower base felt really spongy underfoot and was cracked in a couple of places. The one light in the ceiling fan isn't enough and another bedside lamp would be great. I wish there was hanging space for clothes.
- Alison (8/5): Fishing in Yandina - beautiful setting, quiet, good coms with hosts, close to attractions. a little note over the hot water plug would be would be helpful, advising not to remove, otherwise a cold shower ensues. easily fixed, however, once spoken to host
- Mike (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed the setting and ambience. - Location was excellent; 100 metres from Maroochy River and set amongst remnant lowland rainforest. Most sounds were of Nature - no traffic, neighbours, unwanted noises. Very content with facilities although did eat out. The results of the poorly researched introduction of cane toads in 1935! Otherwise no complaints other than a lot more gravel/road base required on two sections of the drive in - mainly to improve drainage.
- Jennifer (9/5): Don’t miss the sunrise over the river. - Perfect for a getaway. I was surprised that they also offer caravan parking. Would be great for a family gathering or small camping Wedding etc.
- Katharine (9/5): A secluded, quiet, wifi-free cabin, perfect for a couple. - A small, but comfortable cabin in a lovely setting with a grassy area surrounded by rivers. The owners, Ginny and Mike, are very communicative and we received nice messages throughout the booking process. We inadvertently left some property at the cabin, and Ginny very kindly offered to post it back to us. There were a lot of cane toads in the grounds at night, but I understand that's not something the owners could do anything about.
- Kenneth (8/5): Relaxing - Well kept grounds with great scenery, nice and clean. Everything was great nothing bad
- Timothy (7/5): Good - Good quiet and peaceful setting, it provided everything i required. Internet wasn't great, but I wasn't there for that
- Jeff (9/5): Yandina Accommodation - Wonderful, beautiful, quiet location very close to town. Very clean, well kept accommodation.
- Corey (8/5): Very good - Perfect for what we were looking for, quite and relaxing Location
- Cooper (5/5): Good location, cute cabin. Not kept clean by owners at all. - It had ac and a tv which was useful during the storm we had. The property looked like it had never been cleaned properly, the was dust on the headboard of the bed, cobwebs in the bathroom, a dead cockroach under the bed, a dead gecko in the window sill. The room also smelt like cigarettes when we opened the door but got worse when the ac was on.
- Janine (7/5): It was very rustic.. ok for just me but as an older adult it could have a few more luxurious featur? - There was no breakfast. The Cabin was in an idyllic place but the air conditioning was so loud that I couldn’t sleep with it on.
The chickens woke me early but that was ok as I get up early. Some lights didn’t work. I would come back but be more prepared with a few essentials…
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Hui (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely weekend Small
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good -
- Hans (8/5): Great location, short distance to facilities, peaceful and quiet - Location was perfect. Outlook beautiful Wifi could have been a little better. Hardly any signal.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (8/5): Great place to stay with a beautiful view! - The host were very nice and accommodating when we arrived earlier than originally stated we were coming! Cute little cabin that was very comfortable!
- Laurel (9/5): A peaceful spot to relax, but close to tourist attractions. - Very pretty, rural setting, yet close to beaches and interesting tourist attractions. Peaceful location on a river. Feels like camping away from it all, but with all necessary facilities. Cabin room, though small had everything from air fryer to microwave oven. The large veranda was ideal to sit and soak up the view and serenity. Barbecue and fire pit included. The cabin is not flash or modern, more rustic, but that suited us fine.
