Guest Reviews
- Nadia (10/5): -

- Remi (6/5): - excellent diner;
personnel très aimable; petit déjeuner très décevant, à la limite honteux pour un établissement étoilé; totalement incompréhensible;
arrivé 30 minutes avant l'heure de fin, il n'y avait quasiment plus rien;
totalement sur réaliste.
- Joanna (10/5): Our second visit to this delightful chateau, this time with 4 friends . They loved it as much as we did. - The views were stunning. Very friendly helpful service. Dinner was delicious. The most comfy of beds. N/A
- Menzina (10/5): Wonderful property. Amazing views. Large and comfortable bedrooms. Fabulous food. Staff were helpful and cordial. All ro -
- Sophie (10/5): Spectacular stay! - We booked this hotel as a bit of a luxury after a long road trip and we were not disappointed! The staff are extremely welcoming and happy to help with anything. We got upgraded and the room was incredible - they provided robes and slippers which is always a bonus. We went on a Sunday so didn’t get to try the full gastronomic menu, but the Sunday night menu was still amazing. We also did a wine tasting of the wines made on site - their Malbec is delicious and we bought a couple of bottles to take with us. We were only staying one night but wished we had stayed longer! It's hard to think of something that we didn't like. If anything, the bathroom had been renovated to add a shower head, and so it leaked a little. Nothing dramatic though!

- Peter (8/5): -
- Geraldine (7/5): -
- Melissa (9/5): - Dinner was a highlight. Loved the rooftop terrace.
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - The venue, staff, location and food were amazing
- David (5/5): As above, trading on its location and the building. We will not be back. - Fairy-tale building in a wonderful location. This property is trading on its location and the exterior appearance of the building, and perhaps on its Michelin restaurant. We might have tried the restaurant if it had an a la carte menu.
Our room was okay, it had a faded glamour but poor facilities. The carpet had seen better days and the shower arrangement was unusable without flooding the bathroom. Not good enough for the price.
Our room was not properly cleaned after the first night, the bed had just been turned over, cups and glasses were still dirty, and they were not particularly gracious about remedying the situation.
On checkout I was asked three times whether we had had breakfast, almost as if they couldn’t believe we wouldn’t and thought we were trying to get away with something.
- John (9/5): High quality hotel in a historic setting. - As expected this is a high quality establishment in a historic building and a beautiful setting. Pluses were the staff, the onsite bistro and the (free) tour of the wine cellar and a tasting. Our room was very comfortable apart from access to the shower. Access to the over bath shower was awkward and would be better served by the addition of suitable hand rails. In addition the placement of the shower head could be improved to reduce spraying outside the enclosure.
The absence of in-room coffee facilities.
- Sigismundus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raffaella (9/5): Superb - La location, la cortesia dello staff La cena
- Welcome (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Wonderful chateau, grounds and views and vineyard tour. The food in the bistronomic restaurant was extremely good. Great pool. Staff couldn't be more helpful. The aged wine. Bathrooms could be better designed for showers.
€28 for a small portion of mashed potato with truffle (delicious although it was) wasn't great value.
- Margarita (10/5): We were lucky to see a great sculpture exhibition that is so appropriate for the place!!!! - A dream of a place and an amazing atmosphere. Breakfast at the highest level. We would love to come back again We have had dinners with a Michelin star in the past several times. 200 euros is true that it is a lot. But we haven't had the meal that lasts 4 hours!!!!...... We asked the waiters if we could speed up the process a little, but it was not accepted. The break between a very small dose and the next small dose is at least 45 minutes. it's too much. A waste of time and money.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were absolutely top notch especially the reception staff. Beautiful chateau, nice rooms in keeping with building. Good nights sleep. Good breakfast.
- Rudolph (10/5): An enjoyable chateau experience for food and wine lovers. - Splendid location with impressive chateau and stunning views. The restaurant was perfect for an atmospheric dining experience with friends. The trip to the winery and complimentary wine tasting was an enjoyable extra. Cooked breakfast not always warm for late risers. Internet connection slow at times.
- Victoria (10/5): Overall, very memorable and would highly recommend. - The location is superb, very dramatic. Loved the food and overall ambience.
Staff was great, very personable. The view of the terrace from our room was enchanting. While the room itself was large, bathroom was quite small but understand; built as a chateau not a hotel!
Thought the dark colors of the walls in the dining areas worked well but felt the earthtone browns of our room could be lightened up a bit. The room itself has great “bones”.
- Deborah (10/5): One of the best choices I made in my tour of the area!! - Stunningly beautiful location. The private tour of the wine cellar and subsequent wine tasting was informative and the wines were delicious. The dinner was brilliant and service was impeccable. The accommodations were comfortable and provided amazing views of the surrounding vineyards and the river. It is well worth the drive to this beautiful chateau. You will not regret your choice to stay at this magnificent place. Not a thing !
- Didier (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cara (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (5/5): Superb location . Only one dinner menu choice at eye watering price. - Didn’t take breakfast . Very poor service on the outside terrace.
Waited an unacceptable length of time after being told someone would be out to take our drinks order and following that a further wait for the drinks to arrive. The excuse was that dinner service had started !
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (8/5): Very good -
- Jacqui (10/5): Beautiful place, wonderful experience - What a wonderful place! We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful chateau. Everything was superb - the staff, the food, the accommodation. The gastronomy was outstanding the views so breathtaking, and we loved the winery tour. Nothing - it was all great!
- Paul (9/5): Perfect tranquil location - Location and style
Happy to stay again The front rose gardens and courtyard were unkempt not Relais Hotel standard.
The food was very good but not usual Michelin Star standard.
The reception car park was not in use and there was no directions to reception from the alternative carpark.
If you have mobility issues make sure you tell them when booking as the lift only services a small section of the chateau.
- Michael (7/5): Interesting experience staying in a very special chateau - Very special place to stay, great situation, beautifully furnished, excellent staff No fitness room, swimming pool not heated. no a la carte in the restaurant, only a choice of degustation menus for either 150/200 euros and portions were small, no TV in bedroom
- Julie (8/5): Great experience overall - will definitely go back! - The rooms and restaurant were beautiful! Staff was extremely friendly, and the restaurant (La Table de Mercues) was wonderful. The pool and it's surrounding tiles were a little tired...and the garden fountain not working. Also, there were no medium priced on site restaurant options...only the Michelin star restaurant....when we wanted something more casual on the night.
- Olivier (10/5): Loved it! - Everything was more than fine. Food is A+, the crew was wonderful, and the location is breathtaking. In a word : perfect.
- David (8/5): Very good - Food was excellent, Location stunning, service exceptional Drinks eyewateringly expensive. Staff always looking to make an upscale which could be a little irritating
- Pamela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lawrence (9/5): Breathtaking property - Breathtaking property as you enter with gorgeous backdrop. Front desk staff was attentive. Room, bed bathroom was comfortable and spacious with cute old peep hole windows looking out. We took advantage of the tennis courts and lounged at the pretty pool. We totally recommend this property. The walkway to my room needs to be brightly lit and more cheerful I felt I was my room was originally a dungeon by the dim lighting. The Michelin star restaurant was disappointing same with breakfast. No small snacks on the property if you miss lunch time
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (10/5): Will definitely return - Absolutely beautiful. Wonderful restaurant. Enjoyed the wine tour Enjoyed everything
- Dmitry (10/5): you must visit this place! - Actually all were perfect: location, rooms with wonderful river valley views, Michelin star restaurant. Brilliant staff ( frankly, rare experience in Europe, even in 5-stars hotels) all were perfect
- John (9/5): lovely will visit again . - A beautiful building very clean and comfortable . Staff really friendly and accommodating. Room was exceptional the softest pillows the most comfortable mattress , and all facilities you need . Food options need to change , the restaurant serves a dining experience which is incredible. Unfortunately not something we needed on an overnight stay travelling through France . I would have liked a full restaurant dining experience with a simple menu .
- Sarah (10/5): fabulous. - stunning. stylish. extremely special. the staff were sooo lovely - some R&C staff are a bit snooty. Not here.
- Nigel (9/5): Superb -
- Ilya (10/5): A luxury château - Great location and view. Exceptional wine and food. Excellent service.
- Philip (8/5): Very good - Location stunning, Staff excellent, evening meal outstanding. The Chateau is tired and in particular the swimming pool where a significant amount of tiles were missing and just covered up with a very bad and I mean very bad cement fill instead of actual tiles, which has obviously been done over a period of time. Other people were complaining around the pool about it, so nobody got in it including ourselves. The cost of breakfast was excessive so much so we decided not to have it.
- Simon (10/5): amazing, we will be back! - A wonderful château in great location.
Fabulous food, with smart, friendly professional I would have like a gym
- Dally (10/5): The place itself is heavenly, the views are stunning. we had a very beautiful room with fantastic view. Thanks to Melani - Staff were really accommodating and friendly. None.
- Stephenson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aileen (8/5): Fabulois Chateaux and wine tasting experience . - Fabulous historic chateaux .
Excellent customer service.
Superb food and wines .
Clean comfortable room . There was nothing we didn’t like but noted the following :
Tasting menu was superb , faultless but we missed the option of an an la carte menu as an alternative for a more than one night stay .
Morning coffee was bland and could have been hotter .
WiFi was exceedingly slow .
- Dafydd (9/5): Superb -
