elena (6/5): Mooi, maar niet comfortabel - Mooi uitzicht, gezellige woonkamer, uitgebreide keuken. Carmen was behulpzaam en lief. De deuren van de kamer sluiten niet goed en hebben aan alle kanten kieren. Daardoor komen er veel insecten binnen. Op zich begrijpelijk in deze omgeving, maar na een regenbui zat onze hele kamer, van de badkamer tot aan het bed, vol met insecten. Carmen was vriendelijk en kwam helpen, maar het probleem werd helaas niet opgelost. We hebben de hele nacht wakker gelegen door de grote hoeveelheid muggen en zijn volledig lek geprikt. Dit maakte ons verblijf erg oncomfortabel. De host bood excuses aan, maar ondernam verder geen actie om het probleem op te lossen.
Megan (10/5): A cozy haven with incredible views - Such a beautiful view and beautiful property! It is a villa with private rooms and a shared common space. We booked the larger bedroom on the level housing the common space. The room was spacious with high ceilings, a large tv, shower with hot water, ac, and outdoor bath tub. The bed and space were incredibly comfortable. Opening the curtains of the bedroom to such a wonderful view every morning was truly special! Birds are very active at this property and easy to spot since binoculars are available on site for guests. Games, books, utensils, fridge, stove, spices, ground coffee, and free filtered water available to guests. Laundry service is even available if needed for a fee. Sunsets here were the most gorgeous I have ever seen. A 15-20 minute walk down to town, the property is on a steep road so we didn’t attempt walking up. After booking, the host provides you with a digital guide book on local activities, transport services, and food delivery in the area which is very helpful! Carmen, who greeted us on arrival is so warm and kind. She made a great impression to start the stay. 10/10 stay and experience! Nothing to dislike. Absolutely amazing!

Michelle (9/5): Geweldig!! - Wat een super mooi en fijn verblijf! De kamers zijn ruim en een super fijn bed! Je kijkt uit over de bergen en in de verte zie je Santa Marta en als je vroeg op staat vliegen er allerlei verschillende soorten vogels om je heen! Als het licht is loop je met 20 min naar het centrum van Minca, en dat is echt makkelijk te doen! In de avond raad ik je aan een motor taxi te nemen en ben je er met 5 min. X

Michaela (7/5): Enttäuschend, die Erwartungen, die die Bilder & Beschreibung suggerieren, werden nicht erfüllt. - Der Ausblick von der Gemeinschaftsfläche (!) war schön und man sieht bei gutem Wetter bis nach Santa Marta. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut, man sieht ihr aber an, dass sie nicht mehr neu ist. Es wird kostenloses Wasser zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir hatten EINE Villa gebucht. Man hat allerdings nur ein Zimmer und teilt sich die Gemeinschaftsfläche (Netz, Küche, Tisch). Das geht aus der Beschreibung nicht hervor. Im Nachhinein haben wir gelesen, dass das bereits bei früheren Bewertungen angemerkt wurde. Damals wurde geantwortet, dass die Beschreibung daraufhin spezifiziert wird- wurde sie nicht. Wir hatten das Pech und hatten das Zimmer mit gar keiner Aussicht, bzw. mit Aussicht in den Baum davor. Das war sehr enttäuschend. Wir waren das erste von drei anreisenden Paaren und konnten das Zimmer auf Anfrage trotzdem nicht wechseln. Auf dem Zimmerboden lagen noch Haare von den vorherigen Bewohnenden. Der Check-In war (eventuell aufgrund der Sprachbarriere - gar kein Englisch) nicht ganz reibungslos.

Leigh (10/5): - The location is stunning, the common area is really beautiful and overlooks the jungle and down to the ocean. The sunsets were exceptional and we could watch birds flying about in the morning from our bed! It wasn't clear to us in the booking process that when you book a "one room villa" you only get a bedroom and bathroom to yourself. You do not have exclusive use of the villa, it's shared with 2 other rooms (the villa has a total of 3 bedrooms). The kitchen, hammocks, bathtub, lounge and dining table are all shared. Luckily for us the people we met were lovely and we enjoyed chatting and cooking together but it should be clearer before booking what is included for exclusive use. Also worth mentioning that the curtains in our bedroom didn't completely cover the whole window, and due to being so close to nature (which is a great thing!) there were jungle noises at night, so to sleep soundly I needed both my eye mask and ear plugs. Despite these I would highly recommend this accommodation!

ALVARO (9/5): Espectacular casa en mitad de la selva con vistas excepcionales. - Amplitud, confort, luminosidad y vistas desde la casa hacen que sea una experiencia única e inolvidable. Tanto la casa como el entorno valen mucho la pena. Volvería sin dudarlo. Muy recomendable. Estado de la carretera de acceso a la casa donde es obligatorio los servicios de la única agencia de transportes 4x4 de Minca donde tienen el monopolio cobrando precios desorbitados por un trayecto de escasos 10 minutos (60.000 cop).

Rachel (9/5): Stunning Views Outside of Minca - The location is why you book this room- not because it's convenient to town (it's not) but the views towards the ocean are incredible. The common space areas (kitchen, living room, deck) are comfortable and there is everything you can think of. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed. It is a 25-30 walk from town (uphill) and most rental vehicles are not going to make it up the road. I recommend heading up to the house once you are sure you aren't going back to town for the remainder of the day. N/A. Loved everything.

Maira-christine (10/5): Breathtaking stay in Minca - This place was an absolute delight. It’s secluded enough from the village but not too far. Easily accessible. Once you book with them, they send a you a little booklet with everything you need to know about the area, suggestions of what to see, how to get there, phone numbers for food delivery or moto taxi, and much more. They’re very easily reachable. The facilities are breathtaking and they have the softest towels. Would absolutely stay there again.

Paul (10/5): A DIFFERENT NEW YEARS´S EVE - I rented the entire villa for my wife and 3 children to spend New Year's Eve in a place far from the city of concrete, in a quiet location but without sacrificing the comforts we are used to. This place is magical; its views, its facilities, and the experience itself allow you to enjoy nature with all the comforts of the city. Access must be done in a 4x4, which you can arrange to hire in Minca. You can bring everything you need for food and drinks, and that's it. One thing that is essential, considering we're in the jungle, is a good insect repellent and insecticide in case you need it. The bird-watching tour and the excursions to the different waterfalls in the area are a must. I recommend the Hidden Waterfall due to its proximity and solitude. We needed more time

The welcome package was very informative. Villa Canopy is a very special place The only issue is the access to the property and the condition of the road which is typical for all roads outside of Minca. You can walk down to town, but walking up it’s a real hike. We were aware of this before coming and managed transportation via the driver recommended by the owner.

Alison (9/5): Superb - Truly beautiful location and view. Everything exactly as pictured and spotlessly clean. We stayed in the upstairs room, and bathroom with a view was a plus! We loved sitting out on the deck and enjoying the view and birds chirping. The common areas (couches, kitchen, dining area) are shared with the other guests. Host was also very responsive and helpful with contacts and suggestions for the area. As other reviews have mentioned, the house is a 15-20 minute walk up a quiet steep rocky road. Most of the places to stay in the area are similarly outside the town itself so this certainly isn't unusual, but worth it to know that you'll need to hike or pay a mototaxi or 4x4 to get in and out (including for food if you want to eat out)

The views are stunning from all bedrooms and especially the veranda. The digital welcome package is extremely helpful, as it included restaurants we ordered dinner and breakfast from. We only stayed for one night and regretted it. The most amazing place!!! spider in one of the bedrooms - to be expected when you are staying in the middle of nature :-)

Daniel (10/5): Amazing place in an amazing setting - There is no bad words I can say about this place. We only stayed for one night due to availability but wish we could have stayed for more. Bedrooms are great and the shared space is so nice to chill and wind down. The views overlooking the jungle are beautiful. The communication process was great and staff were only a whatsapp message away to answer any queries. The property is located 30 mins hike up hill from the main town so if you have backpacks you will need to get a 4x4 or motorbike which is similar to most accommodation surrounding Minca. That we couldn't stay longer

Danielle (8/5): Magical, with some things left to be desired! - The views from this villa are unbelievably stunning and the greatest feature of this stay! It was such a unique property and a rare find in Minca. A very luxury experience in some ways, with a kind host + friendly staff (Rosa)! There was a lovely communal kitchen, with all the basic necessities for coffee making and meal cooking, again with an unbeatable view. It’s true that the views from the showers (in each room) are magical and the nature surrounding the villa is so peaceful. The villa was very clean and well cared for by Rosa and she went out of her way to be sure you had everything you needed! This is a very romantic getaway for a couple, or you can rent out the entire villa for a group! The owner provides a very helpful PDF/guide during your stay, which is a great way to navigate all your needs and desires. He is also available, and very communicative, via WhatsApp which was much appreciated! This property is fantastic, please hear that, but for the price (especially in Minca where it is very affordable to stay), it still has some refinement left to do. The beds were not very comfortable, basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, etc) were not provided, no blow dryer, and only one bath towel. No hand towels. Please we warned: to access the villa, you must take a car or motor bike (like most places in Minca), unless you want extreme hiking with your baggage. The car ride to/from the villa is ROUGH and will cost you $50,000 cop each way with Wilmer the private driver. There’s no negotiation on that. We suggest doing all your grocery shopping in Minca before you head to the villa because you won’t want to do that drive more than necessary - trust us, we had to do it 5 times. You can order delivery but make sure you have cash to pay, the restaurants can’t accept card payments over the phone. Be sure to keep your rooms shut tightly and lights off in the evenings because there are TONS of bugs that get into the rooms, even if you’re careful. It is the jungle after all! We look forward to coming back to Villa canopy to see how the owners continue to improve the property!

Michael (10/5): The Best Place to Stay in Minca!! Do Not SKIP This REVIEW! - This place was perfect! By far the best place we have stayed at in our travels abroad. The view was absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the rainforest and Santa Marta in the far distance. The shared living space was immaculate, and every detail in the building's design has been throughly mapped out. The hammocks and resting net were super comfortable and added to the ambience of being in our own little paradise. To add, the building is brand new and all amenities are state of the art and beautiful. The view from the room and bathroom was stunning and added tranquillity to the experience. We bought some food in Minca to cook back at Villa Canopy, and we found this was super efficient. We were also getting moto rides back and forth from Minca at $15,000 COP per person, which we loved as well! Rosa and her family were extremely helpful with any attention we needed, and communication with management was easily accessible at all times. Without a doubt, this is the place you MUST stay in Minca, and we highly recommend this little slice of paradise. Nothing we didn't like as everything was amazing, however we recommend keeping the lights off at night as the bugs can be rampant at times and will flock to the lights and create a bit of mess but that is to be expected with nature.
Bianca (10/5): Beautiful and relaxing stay! - The Villa is incredible! Maria met us to give us a quick tour and provide us with the instructions for an easy check in. The pictures do not do this place justice. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay :) We had a rental car, and the road leading up to the villa was extremely steep and rocky. We had an SUV, but smaller cars would have an issue getting up the hill.

Loved our room and the kitchen was well equipped to make a lovely meal. I would have stayed longer if we could have. Not many negatives here. The woman that cleans the house is there quite a lot and it does feel like she’s waiting for you to leave sometimes. She is lovely and very helpful but that would be my only complaint. We will definitely return!

The house itself is unreal, every area has a view of the open jungle. The host Arnaud was incredible. He cooked meals for us and provided great recommendations on how to spend our day in Minca. I wish we could’ve stayed longer, we will definitely stay here again next time we are in Minca.

We think it is especially suitable for couples, but feel free to book it if you are alone and you want to have a great stay in minca. 😉 The owner Arnaud also lives in the house most of the time. He is super friendly, an excellent chief and like a friend to us after this great stay. He gave us many useful tips for Minca and the surrounding area. He also knows a lot about local restaurants, prices, taxis and what you can do. In addition, he probably has the sweetest dog on earth, named tipi. She is a bit afraid of lightning and therefore needs a lot of attention when there is lightning. Our first plan was to stay only 4 days, but after two days we decided to stay a bit longer in this area and this great accommodation. You have a breathtaking view over the jungle/forest to Santa Marta and the ocean. Arnaud offers dinner and breakfast for a good price or you can cook for yourself. You can find everything what you need in the kitchen. You can drink water, coffee and tea free of charge all the time. After a total stay of 8 days, we have definitely found our second home in Minca.
