Guest Reviews
- Jessica (10/5): -
- Vincent (8/5): Great experience overall, makes me want to buy a mini home for myself honestly. - Comfy, self contained, has almost everything you need. Hot water sometimes abruptly stops, non-functioning washing machine and dryer, steep unpaved hills it is situated upon, and awkwardly angled driveway. Composting toilet was actually alright, stayed for 5 nights and still didn’t smell by the end of it.
- Amy (10/5): Comfortable - Super dog friendly
- Sharon (1/5): Bad - At first glance it looked lovely and cosy, in a lovely area Where do I start, the pictures I have added are when we arrived, it's how we found the place, I didn't like finding the coffee machine full of pods from previous guests, I didn't like not having any spare blankets for the sofa bed in a cold area, I didn't like not having any cleaning supplies like a dish cloth or a dust pan and brush, I didn't like arriving to find somebody else's rubbish still in the bin or the fact that under the sink looked like it had not been cleaned for about six months with ring marks from the bottom of the containers that were under there kind of all fallen over and mixed up with the garbage bags, I didn't like the dirty baking dish that was still in the oven that also had not been cleaned prior to our arrival, I think the thing I didn't like most of all was the lack of concern or response and willingness to deal with my complaint from the people who offer this accommodation, I paid over $500 for two nights which I think I got ripped off in the first place, for a place that was clearly not cleaned before we arrived, I sent a detailed email with pictures and a week later still have not had a conclusion regarding my complaint so here is my review.
I would not waste your time or your effort making your way to the accommodation, honestly for the price of it you will get much better accommodation that is much cleaner with a company that is easier to deal with and talk to that's not kookaburras perch, honestly they should be ashamed of the way the accommodation was when we arrived and then not caring that they're cleaners didn't even turn up and it was rented out without any offer of reconciling these matters with me, I'm appalled I'm disgusted that they think the way that we arrive to this accommodation was acceptable in any way whatsoever, shame on you kookaburra's perch shame on you.
- Samantha (10/5): Beautiful tiny home in a superb location close to the quiet parts of the river - EVERYTHING. BEAUTIFULLY APPOUNTED, COMFIRTABLE, CLEVERLY DESIGNED, GITGEOUS ENCLOSED GARDEN SFE FOR THE DIG WITH WONDERFUL VIEWS. HOST WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL A little milk in the fridge would have been handy
- Krysten (10/5): Koookaburra's Perch exceeds expectations! - Kookaburra's Perch is a lovely tiny house in a wonderful location! The house had everything we needed, and the shower was particularly surprising, as it was so large! It's a short walk to town with a decent selection of food and snacks. We will definitely remember our weekend at Kookaburra's Perch with fondness.
- Jeremy (7/5): A nice stay, but manage expectations - Overall we had a good stay here. It was a nice location, surrounded by lots of bush and birds. A cute tiny house with all the kitchen gear we could want. It smelt strongly like wet dog! We couldn't use the blanket/throw and some cushions on the couch because it stank so much. The description and photos are not entirely accurate. It is a Tiny House and the bed is up some steep, skinny stairs in a sort-of loft. It is in a semi-suburban area, so there are close neighbours. The neighbours played loud music - incl. hardcore heavy metal - basically all Saturday. The house is still seemingly in sort of a construction zone. The outdoor area is not really ready for use and there's construction parts all around.
- Savi (10/5): Exceptional - A perfect blend of luxury and comfort.
The tiny house itself was a marvel of design, cleverly maximizing every inch without compromising on style or amenities. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm, inviting interior adorned with tasteful decor and modern furnishings. The plush bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, while the well-appointed kitchenette allowed for effortless meal preparations.
One of the highlights was undoubtedly the fire pit with two comfy chairs overlooking a breathtaking mountain view. Evenings were spent basking in the warmth of the fire, under a blanket of stars, creating memories that will linger for years to come.
Before our visit , I enquired about firewood, and Dean was too generous to offer Kindle, firelighter, Light, fire wood...basically everything we needed.
Host has taken care of small things which we really appreciate, example there was a Bluetooth speaker which we played music on during Bon fire. I found mobile chargers for both apple and Android on the bedside table. One of the drawers had a good quality torch with batteries, a big screen smart TV, modern aircon for heating, and yes good quality toiletries too. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and some chocolates.
Our furry companion enjoyed exploring the nearby trails and scenic walks...our favourite is Warburton river circuit and La la falls, just a short 5-minute drive away. Pies at Millgrove bakery are fab! And don't miss home made ice cream in Warburton opposite famous Warburton bakery.
In essence, our stay at this tiny house was a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat with your pet, this hidden gem promises an experience that exceeds expectations. We can't wait to return and unwind once more in this slice of paradise.
- Kristy (9/5): We had a warm and comfortable stay at Kookaburra’s Perch. It had everything we needed. Location for us was convenient an - Great location and convenient for us. We loved having our dog with us. Dog bed and bowls available for our dog. Comfortable and warm. Friendly. Great set out tiny home. Everything we needed for a great stay. Nice view and trees. I understand it’s a tiny home so it’s understandable but I just wanted to mention we felt the bathroom was abit tight especially around the sink area when brushing teeth/washing face. Shower was spacious.
Otherwise no complaints.
- Trent (7/5): Fabulous communication with owners, neat and tidy. - The beautiful complimentary gifts of chocolate and wine a surprised bonus. Thank you. There was an abundance supply of various coffee which were highly appreciated. The location of the stay was a tad disappointing as we thought we were more in bushland rather than close to neighbours with no walking tracks in walking distance. We were a little surprised there wasn't a microwave but understand the space of a tiny house may have been a factor for this.
