Guest Reviews
- Natalie (7/5): nice place to stay for the night. nice view - location to brisbane convention centre. The bed was however uncomfortable for me I was tossing and turning all night and the pillow was hard. When taking a shower you can see where the cleaners missed some spots as there was mould in the grout and water stains on the bottom of the shower near the toilet.
- Sara (5/5): - Sliding door didn't lock. No staff or help if something were to go wrong
- david (8/5): - Two minor criticisms only, which if changed would've given you exceptional across the board:
1. Sheets were in the dryer. Were these the sheets I was supposed to use? Were they used sheets? wasn't clear
2. Providing just a couple of coffee pods, milk sachets and teabags - for the first day or when a guest arrives wouldve been brilliant (and is common elsewhere.
Apart from that it was excellent
- Regan (4/5): Very disappointed and ripped off. - Location Lack of communication, mould and smell in bathroom. Linen not clean.
- Jarrah (6/5): - Great location within the casino. Shower pole was broken however we were able to get it to stay but not stable. Couch was old and stained. Our access card couldn’t swipe us to the leisure deck.
- Kelley-Jean (2/5): I would not recommend this property due to its poor cleanliness and lack of attention to detail. - The view was about the only thing I liked and the location. I did not like that I had to collect the key from a grocery store down the road and return them at the end of the stay. The room looked like someone was living in there and renting it out. The sheets and bed linen were poor quality and miss matched. There were no milk or tea and coffee sachets. We were only given 1/2 roll of toilet paper and no one to contact to get more. The towels for showering were just striped pool towels (which had seen better days). There were sheets and tea towels in the dryer (after cleaning from the previous tenants) and empty boxes and rolled up carpet in the wardrobe. There was also a huge cockroach in the room, marks on walls, hair balls on the carpet, and the world's smallest ironing board (if that's what you could call it). The room did not feel at all clean and was disappointing as it was a surprise for my daughter's birthday.
- Tarshya (4/5): - Great location if you are going to the Gold Coast convention The parking was horrible!!!
The website said there was “onsite parking garage”, turns out you were parking in the star car park. We were staying for 2 nights and it would have cost us $60 to $180 for both nights.
We decided to park somewhere else.
There was mold in the shower which was very gross.
And we had to pick up the keys from another location. The staff at that location weren’t friendly at all
- Katie Jane x (5/5): -
- Laini (6/5): Lovely location but the shower never went past lukewarm. The car parking isn’t easy. - Location Cold showers - the elevators
- david (3/5): - Location Place was half clean. Dusty everywhere. Booked ocean view and got the mountains/landscape.
- Thomas (9/5): Needs a contact number for problems - Fire alarm went off went to 3 different front desks no one wanted to know about it because it was a private unit also it was not stressed that parking was not included that wasn’t cheap. A really nice unit
- Don (7/5): -
- leonie (5/5): Over all was ok …. Would stay again for location - Close to the beaches shops pool was great Smoke alarms went off and was hard to get assistance… had to get my son who was staying in another room on another floor to take them out I think they went off because of the dust in the air filters … shower flow was minimal on hot water
- Sue-Anne (3/5): Would not recommend - The view was good from the balcony. The bedding configuration we booked was not made up so one of our adults had to sleep on the couch. We booked 1 x double & 1 x twin single beds instead received 2 x double beds. We found laundry still in the dryer. Only one room key was available for four adults. Linen was a mix match of bedding with stains on one of the pillows.
- Christine (7/5): I was able to cope but it has made me very wary of using booking.com again. - The room was very good. I did not realise when I placed the booking that the rooms that came up would not meet all the requirements I ticked.
I have a mobility issue and thankfully the room was good. However, I ticked free car parking and on the night before discovered I had to pay. They said to go to the parking desk if we had any queries but when we did they said they were unable to assist as I did not book car parking through them. The reception area also said the same thing. We did not know if we left car park if we were up for another car park fee so we ended up not using car and having to get someone pick us up. The fee was supposed be $20 a night but the changeover time was 6am so we had to pay for two nights.
Also no milk on arrival and only two coffee cups.
No mention that this was in the Star Casino and was effectively a BNB.
- charlène Hory (10/5): - The location, the view, apartment and residence facilities (all furnished : gel shower, toilet paper, towel, trash bag .., the bed was very comfortable..I really appreciate the gym room and the swimming pool with the steam room ) I stayed just one day .. so I didn't have any time to see inconveniences. All it was well !
- Tracy (6/5): it was ok but a few improvements would make it wonderful - No breakfast was provided with this booking. So we cannot answer this question The room was not fully cleaned from previous occupants. Dust/ carpet needed cleaning
We even found clothing in the dryer!
- Lucas (1/5): Filthy unit on the gold coast. - Location was great. Great view. 32nd floor. Ocean veiw. Close to star casino. Close to restos. Friendly neighbours. Contactless entry. No staff to deal with. Place could be amazing but probably just a lazy cleaner. 2 rooms 3 beds. 1 double 2 single There was blood stain on the bed spread in the main room. Floors not clean. Feet turned black walking from bathroom to bed. Carpet in main bedroom abslutely filthy and stained.. Punch mark in fridge. Fridge dirty with cracked broken shelves Kitchenwear pot unwashed. Balcony table sticky with drinks from last guests Place could be amazing but its probably just a very lazy cleaner.
- Diana (6/5): It's the casino residence appartments!! - The view was amazing.
Garden bar restaurant in the casino was great and the staff were amazing Didn't know it was the casino residence appartments....no coffee/milk in the appartment to start the day for the price.! .even the cheaper places have that...
Took us a while to go to a corner store to pick up a key , then the parking area , tower 1, reception girls were nice but not helpful...very weird..for the price...
- Charlie (2/5): Falsely advertised, dirty and inconvenient - The view from 51st floor. That’s it Most of it. Please make sure you read recent reviews about this property before you book. All are correct, but too late for me as I’d booked months previously
Some of the key lowlights:
- key collection miles away
- no parking on site (as private)
- only one key for 4 people is inconvenient, you can’t move anywhere without one
- flat dirty and not well serviced
Worst of all the apartment was advertised as 2 single beds and 1 double, when in fact it’s 2 doubles (following up on the false advertising)
I’m not someone who writes negative reviews. This apartment should not be advertised on Booking.com or elsewhere
- Gray (9/5): Loved every second of it - Location the rooms are nice and comfortable and the view is insane Shower needed cleaning but other then that great
- Amy (1/5): Did not even stay - Location was great The unit is a privately owned unit that you need to get the key from another location (that’s fine if they stay is worth it. It is not) We didn’t stay more than 19 minutes. So cranky at the state of the unit. I couldn’t take my shoes off as the floor was so disgusting. The bathrooms were mouldy and the lounge was gross. The mattresses were thing and terrible and I had flannelette sheets (not optimal for Gold Coast in summer). The verandah floor was so dirty I didn’t even go out there. The walls were so dirty ( not that this effects the stay) the fridge and freezer were dirty inside and the toiletries were who know how old. It would be better to not provide any. Overall I felt deceived as it was definitely not the unit in the photos that I booked. It’s a very average and poor quality stay for $400 per night. I should have read the reviews. I hope they do something about this unit before someone else has to have the same experience.
- James (9/5): - Close to the event we attended. NA
- Ana (1/5): -
- George (9/5): -
- Toni (7/5): - Best view Stained carpet. Bed wasn't that comfortable
- Courtney (5/5): -
- Mitchell (7/5): Great location - Location, facilities Definitely could of done with a better clean. the shower head was broken. The shower gel was only just enough for us, should of been filled in the clean.
- Mat Bing (3/5): Never again. - Close to casino was good Our room was different from what we booked with less beds so I had to sleep on the floor. The staff did not tell us when we picked up the key. When I text the contact number I was told nothing could be done. There was a random rolled up rug on the balcony standing upright. The drier was being used when we arrived. I asked for a partial refund or ANY type of compensation and received no more messages from the contact number. No tea or coffee or milk. Very disappointing. One key for multiple people was very annoying for entering and exiting the property.
- Ashrak (7/5): -
- Meleny (5/5): Average - The view was amazing We arrived at 2:30pm, after the allocated 2pm check-in time, but when we went to collect the keys they weren’t there. After contacting the property manager, we were told the room was still being cleaned and didn’t receive the keys until 2:50pm. This was quite frustrating, and unfortunately, the property still wasn’t properly cleaned it was dusty, the carpet in the main bedroom was quite dirty, and towels were difficult to find with no hand towels provided. There was also very little toilet paper available.
The view was definitely a highlight and helped lift the overall experience, but the check-in process and cleanliness wasn’t great. I’d consider staying in this hotel again, but likely not with this provider.
- Angela (2/5): Waste of money. Poor value and falsely advertised - The mattresses and pillows were so old and uncomfortable. The linen and bedding was also old and rough. Was the most horrible bed I’ve ever slept in. There would’ve been more support laying on the floor. The position of the property was good
- Heddle (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (3/5): Poor - This place was a privately owned apartment. You have to pick up the keys from a grocery store 5 mins away from the place. It is in desperate need of a deep clean and some of the towles were wet and dirty when I arrived. Old stained sheets, Dooners and pillows tossed in the cupboards. Old stained carpet, with so much build up of muck all around the edges. Bathrooms both black with large amounts of dark mould in showers. The couch is some old worn out thing with a blanket tossed over it as a cover with a dirty old rug under the coffee table. The kitchen table chairs were all dirty covered in crumbs from last guests. The tv wouldn’t hook up to Netflix. I’d suggest staying elsewhere.
- Shenae (10/5): The place was excellent, very clean, beautiful views. will be back to stay again :) -
- Holly (7/5): Great location, just make sure you understand size of room would only suit 3 people max. - Great central location for what we needed.
Views were great Collecting keys down the road at a convenience store, very little supplies in room (toilet paper/shampoo/conditioner etc). But owner dis get this sorted quickly. Small room and pictures didnt really match room. No consumables (coffee/tea/salt etc)
- Carmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect. It’s only a walk to the beach or to shops but there is also the option of dining at the accommodation. Beautiful views and accommodation it self is perfect for 3-4 people I think the property would benefit from having beach towels and more products in the bathroom.
- Carley (10/5): Exceptional - Views were amazing Location and views beautiful place to stay
- Luis (7/5): Good -
- Naomi (10/5): Exceptional - The second apartment we booked was on level 51 and had the most amazing views. It was also very clean and tidy and has amazing facilities in the building. No free car parking
- Naomi (10/5): Amazing location. Amazing views. - Amazing location. Amazing views. It’s a private apartment in the near new Star Casino building Tower 1. The beds are very comfy!!! Renee was very prompt at replying to me. We will definitely stay again. Our apartment was very clean and tidy. The pool, gym, sauna and bbq facilities are amazing too. A+++++ No free parking onsite. Casino rates apply.
- Helen (5/5): If you are going to rent the property for top dollar out maintain it. - The view was spectacular! Location was great however we did not know it was part of The Star group with the casino. Became confusing when looking for the building. Needs maintenance lounge chairs have had their day no longer comfortable and filthy. Rug on floor stained and wasn’t vacuumed also old and needs replacing. Shower head not stable on wall. Water doesn’t run off in shower tray and basin- needs to be unblocked. No dish cloths or liquid to wash dishes. No coffee or tea or any basics normally provided. Had to remake the bed. Took 5 days to get dishwasher tablets from when we asked. Couldn’t park there because our vehicle was too high we did not know there were height restrictions. Picking keys up from the 7/11 just dodgy.
- David (7/5): Good - Location and the view Pillows are smelled, quilt has sand. It wasn’t properly clean. The washing machine and dryer were full loaded using by the cleaner. The wardrobe was a mess, it looks unprofessional. Also no parking provided.
- Kristin (1/5): Very filthy, need to be cleaned - The locations was good. The apartment was very dirty.
We spoke to reception and they said this apartment was privately owned and they have nothing to do with it. I sent a message to the owner and was ignored. Got a text a few hours later to ask when I would be checking out. Wouldn’t stay again. When I say dirty I mean really filthy.
- Gary (2/5): Very disappointing - Location Very very dirty, cutlery, plates, dust over everything, carpets, walls, blinds, wet washing left in machine, old irons, ironing board, linen, half used and fully used toilet rolls … just awful. Plus you have to drive to another location (a 7 eleven) to collect key. This place failed dismally
- Kerry (10/5): We will come back! Good stay! - Amazing view and good location!
