Guest Reviews
- Crystal (6/5): I Value Privacy More Than Great Views - Clean. Great lake view. Nostalgic theme. Quiet. There are no window dressings anywhere except for the bathroom, bedrooms.and a small side door, yet there are plenty of windows. Neighbors are way too close in proximity for there to be no window dressings, in my opinion (properties separated by a driveway and some light fencing, not so much by acreage). Once darkness sets in, they can see in, but you can't see out. The neighbor guy built a bonfire in his yard. He sat out there for about an hour or more, able to watch us, so we just retreated to our rooms, eventually after sitting in a dimly lit living room for most of the night. I felt like I was sitting inside a fish bowl. We were women traveling alone, so more privacy or at least having the option to close curtains or blinds would have helped our peace of mind and improved our experience. We have stayed in remote or out of the way spots before, with lots of windows for natural light, and in each instance, we either had the option to close blinds or the place was so secluded, neighbors couldn't just sit and observe us whenever they wanted. I didn't feel free to relax but monitored. There is also a Ring system set up, but I didn't locate where the cameras were (inside/outside/both) and my question about that wasn't answered..It didn't enhance my sense of security, despite the possible intent. The pictures I shared are the hosts pics. I just highlighted the windows because you probably wouldn't think to look for window coverings. The place was quiet and clean. The view was very nice. The host was fairly responsive while I was there and was understanding about my concern. The bathroom appears to be remodled. It's nice! Had we had more privacy, we would have enjoyed our stay more.
- Duncan (9/5): Lovely low-key lakeside getaway - The lake at the bottom of the garden. The grill. The size of the accommodation. Beds could have been slightly more comfortable. Some furniture a bit worn.
- Sebastian (10/5): - Great place, very good host, friendly neighbours.
- Emilie (8/5): Bel endroit propre reposant - La propreté et l’endroit chaleureux Plage non existante et non baignable directement à cet endroit
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (8/5): It was a fantastic place to stay for the price! We will probably plan to stay again. - Loved that it's right on the lake and has a dock. Beautiful sunsets. We enjoyed eating lunch and dinner on the musoka chairs at the lake watching the bald eagles and fish.
And although the cottage is small, the layout is perfect to maximize the space!
There is a marina a short drive away to rent boats as well. And the next door neighbour was incredibly kind. Only negatives were the water had a very strong bleach smell for showers and we wish the lawn was mowed so we could have enjoyed that area.
- Tara (8/5): Very good -
