Guest Reviews
- Deborah (10/5): - We had a great experience during our recent stay at Port Carling House!! Unique and very friendly atmosphere! Super clean!! Cool gathering area around the indoor bar and nice decks. Would definitely stay there again. But would stay longer, we only needed it for one night. Highly recommend....you won't be disappointed!
- Wenlan (6/5): - My booking showed it was a bright room with a window and patio door, but when I checked in, I found it was a basement room. The boss likes his guests to sit around the bar and communicate with each other, which is a good idea. We ate the apple pie made by the boss, and it was really delicious.
- Diana (2/5): - Unfinished basement unit. Shared bathroom. No railing on the stairs (16 steps). Numerous noisy occupants, including children and a baby in a common area.
- Joe (4/5): - Our host was very kind and very welcoming and even made us apple pie to taste. The property is new and what is advertised on Expedia and the pictures you see are totally different from the room we actually got to live in, so they need to change that. However there was an obnoxious person at the property who was drunk and even had our alcohol that we had stored at the shared kitchen in the fridge without asking us. We were told no one would touch our stuff but in the end we only had 1 can remaining. How kind of them!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Thin walled, rooms directly off bar area - I had to wait to write the review to ponder over what to say, considering what could be generally useful to know. Welcome was friendly, seems recently renovated/built, sparsely but functionally furnished. Bed is very comfortable. But it soon became apparent where the shortcomings were. The rooms are off the main area that comprises the bar. The walls and doors are paper thin and sounds travels extremely between and from outside of rooms. Each step someone takes on laminate floor in main area is heard in room. Conversations and well basically loud fun people have in bar area are heard loudly inside room, so there was no sleeping possible. If that doesn’t bother you, fine. But I could not sleep at all. On that day the loud talking/laughing did not stop until 2:35AM. The posting description and photos did not indicate shared bathrooms, and although that’s not much of an issue for me, it was a surprise. Clean room/bath. Hair dryer is an essential so suggest if it got stolen, to replace (posting indicates there is one).
- Peter (10/5): - Will go again
- Jean-Marc (8/5): - Basement rooms : Still in construction state.
Drywall dust needs to be cleaned from under bed. Curtains in bedroom are see through.
Limited parking
Beautiful nice new building.
Will be great once construction is completed.
- Sung Hee (2/5): -
The room was not the one I booked (different from the picture)
There was a 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for two people??
Bad hospitality.
Didn’t feel welcome at all.
The owner was not friendly and not professional.
Wouldn’t recommend!!
- Josh (10/5): - Nice property with comfortable sleeping arrangements.
- Paul (10/5): - My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Vic and Michelle were great hosts. We had a basic room. So it was as expected. We appreciated the fire safe doors to our room as well as safety locks. You could tell how much thought was put into the place for it to have a nice and comfortable feel. We wish them well for their future endeavours,
- Kieran (10/5): - Great spot for a night away. Highly recommend
- L. (6/5): - We should have read the fine print on this property as we didn’t realize we would have to share a bathroom with other guests that was located down the hall from our room. A strange set-up, especially for what appears to be a new building.
Our room, as well as most other rooms, surround a large communal kitchen that was a late-night gathering place for other guests. Although these guests were respectful and reasonably quiet the lack of privacy was a real issue for us and we will not be returning in the future.
- Tom (10/5): - Super clean, beautiful room, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The attention to detail in the decor made the space feel warm and inviting. Everything was spotless, and I loved the modern amenities. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!
- Anthony (10/5): - The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was so comfortable!
Management was so hospitable! We had a late arrival and Vic was so attentive and accommodating.
We would definitely love to stay here again!
- Wade (10/5): - Great place to stay. Exceptionally clean. Very welcoming. The hosts are great people. Particularly liked Vic, he’s a guy very much in touch with his feelings and emotions. All the nice touches - soaps, body wash, conditioner, etc - are his touch. He even provides make-up remover girls!!!
