Guest Reviews
- Livia (9/5): -
- lise (10/5): Beautiful setting to switch off, enjoy the stillness and snorkel on up and down the house reef. - The breakfast and dinner is buffet - style with a German touch - the owners are German. There is also a bedouin tent where one can have a tea. The snorkeling on the house reef is insane. They also offer scuba diving excursions - just check which ones are on offer while you there, so you can plan them ahead of time.
- Joel (10/5): - Great beach and calm
No animation and no kids-cry - just peace No wifi in the room

- Claire (9/5): An oasis of peace and beauty - The Oasis is exactly as its name: an oasis, of peace, tranquility and serenity. As a solo traveller this was a perfect place to start my Egypt travels from, while it's easy to meet other people in the restaurant (which has a beautiful view over the sea), the bedouin tent on the beach, or at the diving centre, it is equally easy to spend some alone time which everyone respects. The staff (all male which is a bit of a getting used to for female travellers) are all very kind and helpful. Compared to the many big resorts around the region, the Oasis stands out for its low volume, authenticity and sustainable approach. A simple but great example are the water filters which you can use to fill your water bottle (instead of having to buy plastic bottles) or the absence of little plastic amenity bottles in the bathrooms. As a vegetarian there was also plenty of choice from the buffet in the restaurant. The pool, the yoga room, the beach, the bedouin tent, and the jetty on top of a fantastic reef right in front of the property elevate the Oasis to exceptional in my view. Also a special mention for the chef and the managers who put up a wonderful Newyears dinner, decoration and dancing! I was totally OK with no wifi in the rooms (perfect for some digital detoxing) however if you need it, good wifi was available in the reception area.
- Sabine (9/5): Oasus- the name is the program - Well run, familiar atmosphere, ideal for singles.A healthy antidote ti the hotel factories in the surroundings. Beautiful fake village. Good food. Location, location, location directly at the riff. The rooms need a make over.

- Ulrike (10/5): - Ideal für Menschen, die Ruhe genießen

- Birgit (10/5): Gerne wieder! - Professionalität und Freundlichkeit suchen Ihresgleichen! Next Level!
- Kristi (10/5): Relaxing and quite stay by the Red Sea. Very comfortable and beautiful views. - This was exactly what I was looking for for my first nights in Egypt. The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. I loved being able to swim in the sea. The staff was very kind. No issues.
- Clive (8/5): Good dive hotel. - Dinner and breakfast were ok, buffet style. Rooms were good, spacious, with nice patio. Hotel is diving focused with good facilities, staff and services. Excellent view of sunrise over sea. Wi-Fi limited to near reception. Rooms are spread out, not really a problem, but a walk and quite a few steps.
- Marcel Welti (10/5): - Top Tauchhotel mit super Tauchbasis. Alle sehr freundlich, sehr viele nette Menschen kennengelernt. Werde gerne wiederkommen! Alles gut so wies ist:)
- Friederike (9/5): -

- Samantha (8/5): - Hotel setting and facilities are nice, good food, great massage. Very relaxing place Rooms are basic
- Tobias (9/5): -
- Anonym56x2 (10/5): -
- Sven (10/5): Great place for diving -
- Alwin (9/5): Superb -
- Aggarwal (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly staff, nice sea view. Dusty room, overcharged (€70) for a checkout dive when we were first told it would be free and that dive lasted only 25 minutes (150 bar remaining in tank when dive master ended the dive).
- holidayaddictSurrey (10/5): A Solo Traveler’s Dream – 10/10! - I traveled to The Oasis Dive Resort alone, but from the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. The staff are exceptional—warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Whether you’re traveling solo or in a group, you’ll feel like part of a family here.
The resort itself is stunning, with a peaceful atmosphere that makes it the perfect place to unwind. The diving center is fantastic, run by true professionals who ensure everything is smooth, safe, and enjoyable.
And let’s not forget the amazing food—every meal was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor, making it even harder to leave!
As a solo traveler, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you’re looking for relaxation, great hospitality, and a truly welcoming atmosphere, The Oasis Dive Resort is the place to be!
Highly recommended – 5 stars all the way!
- Bjoern (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (9/5): Superb -
- Nadine (9/5): A short stay but intense and great ! - The architecture along with the Nature accommodation is great:) plus the view of the garden and the sea is fantastic!
Food and staff are great too. As well as the warm welcome , follow-up from the staff and the manager . Also as a Yoga teacher I appreciated a lot the yoga room: it is exceptionnal :) overlooking the sea! And last but not least the massage is just incredible, wonderful Hamed!
The place in front of the sea with the easy access to the snorkelling in the sea.
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional - Stunningly beautiful 🤩 The staff, wonderful food and listening/ watching the waves drinking tea in the Bedouin Tent, at night!!!
- Stefan (10/5): - Perfect spot for Scuba Diving and if you bring a partner who doesn‘t.
Suited for Singles as you will get easy connection with others.
- Sven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (10/5): - Sehr schön
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful friendly & relaxed resort, great diving - The Oasis is, as its name says, a dive resort, so diving is the front and center theme here.
Guests are almost exclusively adults and german speaking (D/A/CH), and basically everyone shares the passion for diving, which results in a very friendly, almost intimate atmosphere.
This is also helped by the layout and size of the resort: it resembles a small village where basically every room is its own little tastefully decorated house (maybe 40 or 50 or so in total); it all feels very atmospheric and pretty authentic to the region. If there's one small criticism, it's that it's starting to show its age and may need renovation here or there; and, in 2024, not having Wifi in the rooms is seriously outdated.
There's no organized "animation" or parties whatsoever, on purpose, but of course you're free to chat and have drinks at the restaurant, pool, or bedouin tent bar, which are all very nice.
Breakfast is ok, dinner is more varied and a good, tasty mix of egyptian and some western food; drink/snack prices are reasonable.
Diving/snorkeling is very well organized (very professional yet friendly staff!), but with a somewhat confusing price structure, and may end up more expensive than you would expect (but yeah, it's not a cheap hobby anyway...)
Overall, the Oasis is -- fortunately -- very different (light years away!) from the mass tourism of these huge hotel bunkers you also find in the region, and highly recommended.
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Its amazing place to stay, staff friendly - very helpfull, thanks so much to all these amazing Egyptian people for all their carying and hospitality.
Its such a quiet place to stay - in the nature just stunning. I definitily have to say that I am disappoint about the diving center - not that warm handeling like I am used from Egyptian. May for common Europe traveller ok, but for individual travel which appreciate the warm connection to the Egyptian mentality it will be really be like a shock. Even comparing to the other diving centers around more expensive. Just really disappointed. I could just give the money from one dive I have been doing to someone in Egypt who really needs this money🤷🏻♀️
- K1568EPnehas (10/5): Highly recommended! - We loved our stay at the Oasis resort. The resort is beautiful and self sufficient. The staff is extremely friendly and the facilities are all well equipped and you wouldn't need to go anywhere for anything. The food was great as well. The diving center is also great and they provide the best care for new divers and learners as well. Would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing diving resort in Marsa Alam!
- ClaireD265 (10/5): A Diving Home from Home - A great resort for divers who want a more chilled out, eco experience. It is a resort that focuses on diving and nature. We loved the low-key nature of the resort which has a small friendly customer focused feel but still very comfortable. Comprehensive dive centre with a high standard and experienced hard working staff. All of the staff teams were friendly, helpful and the guests all seemed to have the same attitude too. My husband couldn't dive for few days but finding a temporary buddy was no problem and we met some lovely people from all over Europe. Highly recommended, thank you Eva and the whole team, we hope to see you again soon
- Vivian (10/5): - Very nice and welcoming staff. Property very nice
- APMayo (10/5): Great secluded hotel perfect for diving - Family of 5 adults principally there for diving. Easy booking and good communication direct with the hotel through owners web site. Flew into Hurgada when hotel arranged pick up met us for a 3 hour drive to hotel. Nice traditional feeling bungalow style rooms, spacious, clean and comfortable in secluded location, surrounded by desert and some part built developments. Half board buffet food has many flavourful authentic Egyptian dishes and plenty of it, we tried it all and none of us had tummy trouble. Good size pool to freshen up in after diving and secluded sun loungers. Friendly and attentive staff. Shisha available in bedouin tent. Local wine and beer reasonably priced and decent. The dive set up was well organised with choice of different trips every day. Their own reef has quite a steep drop off but good for deep dives and night dives. Other dives involve a drive from 15 mins to 1 hour depending on location and can be either shore based or boat dives. Good equipment, efficient set up, safety conscious and great instructors (we all did a refresh course and some of our group did advanced and nitrox). We didn't see shark on our trips but plenty of reef fish big and small, coral in good condition and an amazing dive through caverns on one of the trips. Good value although extras such as national park and diving permission fees soon add up!
- Sarah (8/5): It was a holistic healing time for me, the diving experience was absolutely amazing, the staff are exceptionally friendl - Peace. Serenity. Lovely staff. The place has amazing energy and a true get away from the business and chaos of the world.. 1) the towels shed so they leave traces of the fabric on the skin after use ( I’m just very particular, might not bother others hehe )
2) the food definitely needs improvement, plenty of variety but needs an upgrade
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Judy Lynn (2/5): - The property is nice looking.I was traveling with my son who I only see every seven months or so and I had asked for a rooms together or near each other, and they wouldn’t accommodate us, Even though I booked the reservation 2 months in advance. We were literally 10 min walking apart.
Also, there a dive center frowns on snorkelers. I had a cold and couldn’t dive, and they told me that the snorkeling spots were good and they were terrible, definitely not a place you would want to snorkel. They also have a huge miscommunication with staff when organizing boat trips. They didn’t even have the right head count for the snorkeling people. Also, one guy said we could go one way and the guy that dropped us off made us get in the boat as soon as we finally got to any kind of reef to see anything. They also told us we could go a second time after lunch and just left us sitting. We never got a second chance. The snorkelers were treated like second class citizens.
If there are any problems at this hotel they just blame the booking company, ie expedia or hotels.com.
They take no responsibility for their mistakes and are rude.
I took a diving refresher course my first day and the guy was in a hurry just yelling at me when I couldn’t equalize my ears.
They have huge groups of divers doing offshore dives it’s just chaos in the hot sun on the beach trying to get your gear ready and lifted on from the sand.
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional -
- H9649ZPlaurao (10/5): Courteus and helpful staff - Very friendly staff, always trying their best to entertain and help the guests. Many offers and a huge area to walk around. Clean areas and a variety of food to choose from. Drinks could be a bit better, tho.
- Amanda (7/5): Great service and staff. All very helpful. - Great views but a bit exposed if you are not a diver as quite windy for swimming and snorkelling. Liked the Nubian character of the hotel. see above - food reasonable for Egypt but nothing special. I upgraded to deluxe room but don’t feel it was worth the money. unsure what a standard room is like in comparison.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - The food was amazing. We didn’t go diving and still had a great time snorkeling. The staff was very nice too. I liked everything, but one should know: There is no wifi in the rooms - but if you have mobile data or no reason to go online, that‘s not a problem of course.
- MaryJensen123 (8/5): PERFECT FOR DIVING AND DIGITAL DETOX - Beautiful place - perfect for diving and digital detox! The staff is super friendly and the location amazing. Definitely worth it to wake up early to watch the sunrise at the house reef. If you’re luck you might even see dolphins! ✨
Would definitely recommend this place.
Ps.
We did our “Open Water” and “Advanced” diving course with Katja and Stefan from Wernerlau at the Oasis Dive Center! We will come back! ❤️
- Steef (9/5): Lovely small scale dive resort - Lovely small scale resort (especially compared to the holiday factories in the area). Very welcoming and helpful reception. The dive school is organised and maintains decent standards. Nice restaurant located on first floor to enjoy the views. The cleanliness of the room (especially the bathroom) could have been better. Construction work behind the room started really early (between 05:00-06:00) one day.
- Hans (8/5): - Wir sind insgesamt sehr zufrieden
- Polivios (10/5): Exceptional -
- Małgorzata (10/5): extremely friendly staff, nice atmosphere. very quiet and picefull place. good snorkelling in front of the hotel. stunn -
- Hetty (10/5): Exceptional - Oasis", i had an idea and picture in my mind of the meaning of this word before our trip.
After our trip, i can truly say i found a little gem of a diversparadise in Marsa Alam.
From arriving in the airport to saying goodbye at the end of our trip, we were greeted with so much warmth, kindness and professionalism that will blow your mind totally in the positive way 😁
The hotel, a collection of little houses with seaview, and opendeck restaurant give you the feeling of being in a tiny community, actually divefamily.
Food is buffetstyle in the morning and evening and even possible for lunch. We chose a la carte for lunch. Always tasty, never blend or boring and even spicy is an option 😉
We stayed 7 nights and were never offered the same dish twice.
Divecenter
I have dived all over the globe and can honestly say that this divecenter exceeds all expectations.
Very personal and professional service: top notch briefings, enthousiastic and kind guides, helpfulness of all the divepersonel (in house and after dives), decent equipement and so on...
A big thank you to all of you @ Oasis, i had an amazing holiday and hope to be back some day!
- Samir (10/5): Exceptional -
- E. (7/5): Good -
- Brigitte (9/5): Superb -
- Matthias David (10/5): - Tolle, sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Angestellte, Super Hotel!!
- Li (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet and suitable for diving people, the dive center is very professional. The staff are very friendly.
- Bernhard (10/5): Would go there again! - I travelled there alone looking for diving adventures! It was absolutly amazing. The whole place feels like a gigant family! The dive guides and personal are awsome!
I would 100% recommend it when you are looking for a diving adventures and perfer a more quite acommodation to a big hotel. It feels like the people there really put there heart in the hotel and diving center. Also since you will dive with the other people in the hotel together it is only a matter of a few dives and you will get to know them. It didn't take long and everyone knew everyone. Dinner is also a time were people talked a lot to each other.
Side note, personaly one of the best features was that there is no Wifi in the rooms only in the main building. This allowed me to really go offline, leave my everyday stress behind, have an amzing sleep and enjoy the stay.
- Petre (9/5): Superb -
- Maurizio (8/5): Very good -
- Roru777 (8/5): Excellent, will go back. - The buffet is very good and the food is of good quality. For Egypt I had no stomach problems and this is great. The staff was very friendly and professional. The diving center is very well organized, professional and very strict on security. The wifi is limited to the reception area and is very slow.
In the room the air-conditioning is only in the bedroom and not in the sofa area.
- Sherif (6/5): Pleasant - Very relaxing pool
Supportive and cooperative manager Very poor quality food
- Marine (9/5): Superb -
- Ashraf (8/5): - Perfectly quiet - Clean air. No pollution. Excellent diving activities. Perfect for people seeking tranquility and relaxation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Schön gelegen. Familiäre Atmosphäre. Alles schlicht aber geschmackvoll. Sehr ruhig und entspannt. Nicht zwischen anderen Hotels eingekeilt. Schön auch wenn man nicht tauchen will.
