- Rike (6/5): -
- Martel Tejido (10/5): - El trato de Edil, la casera, un encanto, nos ayudó muchísimo y nos dio un trato más que excelente, superó mis expectativas
- Ladislav (3/5): -
- CHIAKI (9/5): -
- Luca Felix (10/5): - Very functional hostel. We just had a room with a ventilator. But we don't need more. Clean, very sweet hosts and they treated us like family. The Tourguide Arturo is associated with the hostel and a great guide. I can recommend booking with him over booking with other tours.
We went on a private turtle and boat tour with him.
- Lamarre (3/5): Poor - Booked family room advertised as having two twin beds and a double bed- host asked us to move to one room with only twin beds, creating very cramped stay. Host stated that more people need to be booked in order to access all the beds, but this does not match up with her offered booking options, as we selected the price for “2 guests” to access this
- Frances (10/5): All you need for a stay in Tortuguero! :) - Lovely Eddil made me feel at home straight away. She helped me organise affordable transport to her hostel and my onward travel. She is incredibly friendly, picked me up from the harbour, and also arranged 3 tours including a turtle nesting tour. The hostel has all you need for a basic stay. It was clean, had comfortable beds, and I felt safe at all times. Eddil was always on hand to help with any questions I had. The breakfast is also delicious!
- Lilly (10/5): Would book again. Good value for money. Lovely host. - Very nice hostess, always answers quick and such a wholesome person<3. Comfortable bed, good WiFi, own Bathroom, private space, hammocks, room is good protected against bugs and a spacious fridge. Less then 1 minute from the beach. Really fair for the price. 3 minute walk from to a supermarket. And 5-10minute to the port and other shops. The kitchen is not the best, but it works fine. Make sure that you book with a guide who is legit, we recommend online.
- Patrick (8/5): Very good - Wonderful host and guide! Really nice shared kitchen area with hammocks to relax. The shower had no warm water.
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Lovely host, quiet, close to the Beach
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant - This is a basic hostel. We had our room which contained a bed a small table and a fan. There were two hooks on the wall. We shared a bathroom with the room next door. There were kitchen facilities but we did not use them. Tortuguero is very hot and sticky and we found it hard work. But we couldn't really afford the next step up to finding somewhere with Aircon. Bring enough clothes as nothing dries if you try to wash it. It's very very basic but you pay for what you get.
- Summer (10/5): This is a fantastic little hostel, which has really friendly staff and is great value for money - This was a really fantastic little hostel which was great value for money with really friendly staff.
- Mariano (9/5): Superb -
- Nadia (8/5): Very good - The staff is very friendly! Our guide Arturo was great! He showed us a lot during the canoe tour and the night walk. The location is nice, close to the beach at the end of town.
- Elisa (8/5): Very good - Edil was very nice and welcoming. She gave us a lot of information and was an excelent guide for the turtle's sprawning
The room was small but nice and clean
- Hanae (9/5): Superb - A simple but nice place in Tortuguero. The center is just 5min away and the beach really close.
The owner was really kind and welcomed us warmly. She did with us the Turtletour which was amazing!
- Martina (6/5): Good for a low bugdet travelers for a night. - Close to the coast The room was very small and dark.
- Simone (9/5): Superb - I had a wonderful time at Green Macaw!
The room was comfortable and everything was very clean. Eddil is such a friendly host and helps whereever she can. I really enjoyed cooking tortillas together with her! Her brother Arturo is also a great tour-guide for example a night walk! I can totally recommend this place and because of them I enjoyed my stay at the tortuguero a lot ☺️
- Kjelt (8/5): Very good - De owner was really nice. She wants to help arrange everything you need. At the time of writing, construction was underway. So when you got back after a tour, there was a lot of noice. When it is finished it should look even better
- Mareli (9/5): Superb - Good budget option if you plan to be out and about for most of your stay. Clean and tidy. Friendly, local host family. No A/C; only fans. No mosquito nets but wasn’t an issue.
- Margo (8/5): Comfortable stay in Tortuguero - Staff was very helpful and caring. They also helped to organise tours and transfer. The room was small but everything was clean and the bed comfortable. Very hot and stuffy in the room because door and window are mostly closed
- Andre (10/5): Exceptional - It was a really pleasant stay at Green Macaw. The stuff is so friendly and tried everything to make it comfortable for us!
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - A great location, good price and Eddi was very helpful. Also, she led a great tour to see the turtles.
- Lyden (7/5): Good -
- Nitsan (5/5): Very nice staff and tour, but unpleasant room - The staff is really nice. We took the Turtle Nesting tour with them and it was amazing! The room was disappointing.
the bedrooms were really small, no window (only net) and no air circulation.
we had a fan for each room but it was still really hot at night.
No hot water in the shower and overall unpleasant room. The walls were very dirty.
- Nico (7/5): Good - The Guide of the Hostel was really nice and really knew his stuff. Every tour we made with him was great. They didn't change our bed sheets during our stay.
- Daniel (10/5): Great place to stay and do turtle tours - We had a great time in the Green Macaw. It’s has clean rooms and a nice open area with hammocks. I can highly recommend taking the guided tours with Edil and Arturo who are very knowledgeable about the sea turtles and the jungle. Nothing
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional - great host, helped us in every situation.
