Guest Reviews
- Ahmed Alarabi (10/5): -
- Fatema binta (1/5): Scam. Do not book. - Nothing at all. The room was very dirty. The host knew our arrival time but, they should have clean the room before we arrive. We asked the host to clean it, he did with minimum effort and room was still very dirty. The toilet was dirty as well and There were no toiletries or toilet paper. We had to ask for it. The fan doesn’t work and AC was not working properly as well. The furniture of the room is made of bamboo which has sharp edges, if you are not careful you might hurt yourself. The bed was not clean and was very itchy. Towels were dirty as well. I found cockroaches in the room. This property is very pricey and facility is very poor. We informed the host about all these but minimum to no effort was made.
- Thanatchaporn (1/5): Family trip - The staff is willing to help us, but the hotel cannot provide us. The room was very dirty and smoke smell, like no one live here for months.
The water was run down, so I have to take a shower in another room.
I asked for breakfast at 7.30, but there was no one to prepare 'cause they were sleeping.
Stay in other hotels if you could. The price is expensive, not proper.
- A.balah (9/5): Cozy hotel with amazing Nile view and friendly staff. Strongly recommended for families - The Nile view from the hotel terrace is fabulous.
The food was amazing and tasty, with Egyptian-Nubian exquisite cuisine.
The staff is so nice and friendly. They saved no effort to make our stay so comfortable and delightful
The two brothers Hassan and Husien helped us in organizing two fantastic day-boat trips The furniture in the rooms need some upgrading
- Nahla (6/5): Pleasant -
- Khanh (9/5): Superb - (Maybe 4 stars?)
It's a cute guesthouse that boasts a large, open backyard onto the Nile. The co-owners and employees are very friendly and welcoming with a keen sense of doing business. The facility is functional, but don’t expect the cleanliness level of a 5-star hotel's. Rooms are a bit small, though we didn't travel that far to stay in our rooms all day, so it wasn't an issue for us. Overall, it's good dollar value. The only thing to consider is that the guesthouse is not accessible by car or bus. You will have to take a tuk-tuk (can be arranged by the host) to and from the highway drop-off point. So be prepared for a bit of extra fees, also it may not be ideal if you have mobility restrictions. Other than that, try to wake up early to watch the beautiful sunrise from the backyard, with plenty of local birds fishing right on the water.
- Veronika (6/5): Pleasant - Accommodation was by the river. Nubian party was good. Waitng time for lunch about 1,5hour. Second Day we ordered breakfast but nobody was there. If we leave leave apartman nobody was there. No WiFi and no hot water
.
- Alya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (9/5): Superb - The views from the hotel is amazing and the staff is lovely. They try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
- Line (10/5): Houssam, our host, was incredibly kind and helpful, offering great recommendations and even escorting us to the village. - The atmosphere is fantastic, and the people are incredibly friendly, offering an authentic Nubian experience. The food was outstanding, the views were breathtaking, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. Everything was very good

- A (8/5): Very good - Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere. Most friendly and helpful staff ever..
- Inmaculada (10/5): Very good hotel in the Nubian Village - Our stay in the hotel was very good. It is located in the Nubian village, the breakfast is delicious and the staff is very friendly. They came to us to show the village and explain a bit about their culture.
- Luiza (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alexandre (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dae (5/5): Passable - Location is good. Near Nile river No wifi and kettle, refrigerator
- Cyrique (2/5): Place now needs work - Near the centre of the cute Nubian village (10min walk)
Quiet area
Staff very kind and helpful though only able to talk via Google translate but ok
decent value for money This place would have been better in the past but needs work. Looks like it is gradually falling apart inside (bathroom doors) and outside (garden equipment)
only WiFi is the manager's phone... so not really WiFi though he was kind to share whenever we asked.
Manager had forgotten the free breakfast but then organised it for us
Place was closed when we arrived though we had called ahead of arriving
- Irene (6/5): The kind staff were the best part of our stay - The staff were extremely nice. The guesthouse arranged for someone to pick us up at the airport for an extra fee. When we arrived at the house, we were greeted with a welcome drink. The host packed us a breakfast for both mornings, since we left early to go to Abu Simbel and left early the following day when we drove to Luxor. We were also able to get our clothes washed for an extra fee, as well. The WiFi was not very good and was not available at night or early morning. The toilette seat was broken, the floors were not clean (appeared to have dried liquid that was not cleaned up), and we found roaches in each of the bathrooms (we rented 3 rooms for our group).
- Katie (8/5): Cultural experience off the beaten path, on the Nile - The atmosphere was lovely and being right on the Nile was great. We ordered dinner both evenings we were there and while we weren't sure what we were getting (just ordered "chicken" or "stew"), the meals were delicious. We didn't understand this was in a Nubian Village (our ignorance), but it gave us an additional rich, Egyptian experience. Our tour guide said it might not be possible to drive all the way, due to the roads, but it ended up being fine. It's not in Aswan proper and there isn't much nearby to walk to.
- Hudie (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful view!!! Magnificent both day and night!!! cats, birds, dog can pop up at any time! Sheep can pass the front door of the guest house followed by friendly shepherd.
Really friendly staff! Great breakfast and the mango juice is GOAT! fresh and sweet!
Situated in a Nubian village, the air is fresh, and the decor reflects charming traditional styles.
Really cozy!
- Amir (8/5): Very good -
- Yomara (10/5): Our stay has been truly wonderful, the man who works there is very friendly, respectful and attentive, I definitely reco -

- Amir (10/5): Loved the whole experience at Torya Nubian House! - The breakfast was so delicious, the stuff was so helpful and friendly!
The place is so nice and overlooking the nile!
- Ahmed (9/5): Superb -
- Sergio (10/5): Authentic homestay experience. - I had a great stay here and totally felt at home. The homemade breakfast every morning with the Nile view was delicious. The house is very close to the Nubian Village you can just walk. They were very helpful finding my tours to Abu Simbel and taxis to the city with fair prices. Totally recommended. Mosquitos can be annoying but nothing to worry about.
- Ibrahim (10/5): Such a cute place with very warm people - The paints on the wall and hassams hospitality
- Jasmin (9/5): Superb - The Torya Nubian House exceeded our expectations. The staff's warm hospitality improved our experience. The food felt like a comforting taste of home. Also the host went above and beyond by taking us to the Nubian village markets, to get our henna done and to a vibrant night festival, it was truly a night to remember.
- Laura (9/5): Our hosts were friendly and so helpful. They set up 2 days of excursions for us and often sat and chatted with us. They - Location to the market, restaurants and swimming was walking distance.
Relaxing courtyard with plenty of seating and shade.
Bathroom was clean. Bed was a little saggy, but I slept well despite that.
- Tml (7/5): Good - The rooms are clean and comfortable. The view from the hotel is amazing. You can eat or drink enjoying The Nile view. Also, it is near the Nubian bazar, so you can buy handmade souvenirs.
- Alexandra (7/5): Nice Nile view - Very nice Nile view and extremely quiet It's a bit far from everything and I was the only guests (but that's low season), so cannot say much about the usual vibe. but you're in the middle of a nubian village.
- Daniel (10/5): The best and most unique Nubian experience. - This is the best property in town! The service you get in unbeatable, you are treated like a king! I was for en drinks , showed me the market and downtown, saw some crocodiles and enjoyed an amazing time in the terrace with the Nile view. The room is simply beautiful! Has air conditioning and a shower with hot water. The property has a beautiful Nubian style that is quite charming. People in the village are friendly and super chill. I fully recommend staying here. The whole team will treat you like you are family. Everything was beyond perfect. No comments here.

- Eihab (9/5): Lovely informative and helpful staff. They provided an excellent customer service. - Staff was very helpful and caring. Requests were made got immediate attention and response. Authentic Nubian environment that gives you the opportunity to blend in the local culture.
- Alaa (10/5): Exceptional - The room was very clean and cozy also the toilets were spotless, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, Hussam was very helpful he guided us through our entire trip and answered all of our questions with great joy, also the food was amazing, we enjoyed every meal and the view was the best part ever 😍
- Khaled (10/5): Exceptional -
- Khaled (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): booked a room for my family to stay for three days , lost contact with and got worried but the hotel staff were amazing - the authenticity none
- Juliette (5/5): Passable - People of the hotel were very nice, the view from the terrasse is great, the hotel is very calm and quiet, and the food is absolutely delicious ! Unfortunately bathroom was not very clean (hair and toilet paper and dirt in the shower drain), toilet was leaking water, and the water from the shower doesn't evacuate, so the floor is always soaked.
No top sheet on the beds, you sleep with only a synthetic velvet cover, not ideal in a hot weather.
In the evening we were asked at what time we wanted our breakfast, and the next morning at that same hour, there was no one in the hotel, (and no breakfast), we had to wake up the person and to wait for him to prepare the breakfast
- Chaima (7/5): Recommend booking if you are looking to stay in the Nubian village in Aswan :) - Great location and great service from the team at Torya’s house. We have had a great Nubian experience :) It was an overall comfortable stay, however, attention to detail in cleanliness would make it perfect.
We had a great time, and would recommend!
