- Michele (9/5): Nice, spacious property for a comfortable stay for large groups. - Located a short drive from lots of different sightseeing opportunities. In a residential area surrounded by other similar properties.
The kitchen was stocked with plenty of cutlery and crockery and enough dishwashing detergent and dishwasher tablets to last for our 4 night stay. The pantry had a lot of sauces/spices/tea that appear to be leftover from previous guests.
The house is very spacious. There are 2 x main bedrooms with ensuites. One is downstairs off the dining room. The other is a separate loft room upstairs with its own staircase and ensuite. Great for us and we were travelling with teenagers but if you had younger children, it might be too separate from the upstairs ‘kids’ rooms.
The hot tub was great. There was also a fire pit but no firewood was provided. We couldn’t find any nearby, so ended up having to drive to Bunnings at Cessnock to buy some. We left half a bag for the next guests.
The upstairs has 2 larger bedrooms and a smaller loft room with a single bed and desk. We booked for 4 x adults plus 3 x teenagers. The photos show these rooms with single beds, but these 2 rooms were made up with the beds pushed together and none of the teenage boys wanted to share a bed so ended up with one boy sleeping on the lounge. Make sure you clarify the configuration of the beds you require and don’t assume they will be made up according to the guests on your booking.
The house was clean and tidy and was great for our group. Lots of pool towels provided. Lots of board games were also provided which was great. The only downside to our stay was the garage. There was a lot of furniture, mattress and what looked like junk stored along the whole end of the garage which took up a lot of length of the garage. When we drove in for the first time and put the door up it looked really untidy. Then we found that we couldn’t fit our minivan in the garage so had to park outside. During our stay the temperatures were 38/39 degrees so incredibly hot to be parking outside. Getting in the car was a nightmare waiting for it to cool down enough to be comfortable.
