Guest Reviews
- Jade (10/5): Lovely stay - Exceptionally clean, and location was beautiful. Each morning i woke up to the kangaroos outside. Occasionally the internet would drop out, only thing i can think of. Everything else was great.
- Daniel (9/5): Flame Tree - The property was fully self contained and very private. It catered to all of our needs. The only downside was that there were no amenities to dry our clothes once we used the washing machine. A clothes horse would fix this perfectly
- Shereen (8/5): We did enjoy our stay, very private and lovely outlook. - Lovely private and quiet location We thought there was a little outdoor bbq, that would be great. A few more utensils and vaccum cleaner would also be useful. And totally understand maybe not practical but a small outdoor fire pit would be fabulous :)

- Justine (10/5): Great location, excellent quality loved it! - Modern. Open and clean. Excellent facilities and well located for Margaret river. In s lovely location more rural and on top of a hill with good views of kangaroos roaming the nearby countryside All excellent but with it being in top of a hill it’s quite exposed when it’s windy.
- Emma (10/5): New, stylish and comfortable - Clean with very comfortable beds! Could use a full length mirror somewhere
- Lucy (10/5): Home away from home! - The home is a wonderful stay in Margaret River. Only a short drive away from the main part of town but means that it is a peaceful and quiet accomodation. The house is quite spacious and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Bed was really comfortable and Miriam and Beth were super responsive. Wifi was a bit slow for me but worked fine for my partner so may be an issue with my phone.

- Sophie (9/5): Great stay in Margaret River - Great fit out, location and had everything we needed for our stay. 5 mins to Margaret River town and well located to visit wineries and restaurants along caves road and the surrounding area. Felt very secure. Small issue with wifi when we arrived however quickly fixed after messaging the host. A bbq would be a great addition
- Corinne (10/5): A lovely retreat in a peaceful setting close to Margaret River town. - Stylish, modern, clean, comfortable, quiet, beautiful view. Highly recommend.
- Michelle (9/5): A wonderful, peaceful, amazing stay that is still close to MR town! - Wonderful to be amongst nature and the kangaroos! Have a small range of pillow options to choose from.

- Boyd (9/5): Very relaxing, peaceful and cosy stay - Lovely new small two-bedroom cottage with all the modern amenities. Surrounded by small rural properties, bushland and a waterfall close by. Quick 5-minute drive into main town and a 35-minute walk along the bike path modern, comfortable, well appointed, lovely views and great location.

- AJP (10/5): - Well appointed facilities, modern and very comfortable. Quiet, convenient location. Really enjoyable stay.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Great location..... - Location was great and fabulous viewings of kangaroos all around. Double glazing was a great feature for all weather. A suggestion...Very difficult to get towels dry in Winter even in the living area in the sun. Perhaps a heated towel rail?
- Bernice (10/5): We felt lucky to find thsi place! - We were truly grateful for the comfortable place that had everything we needed to keep ourselves warm and comfortable. The house was cosy, clean and has a great kitchen! We enjoyed the presence of curious roos around the house, and many birds on the coral tree in front of the house. We had plenty of peace, space and privacy. No issue with noise from neighbours. The only issue we had was that the shower area was not fully screened so the area near the shower area would get wet no matter how careful we were to minimize the splashing. On the first day we had a damp floor mat (didn’t help that it was rainy and the dampness was uncomfortable) but we were supplied a new dry mat on the second day. The owner was easy to contact and was responsive.
- Nikki (8/5): Beautiful spot - Perfect place for a girls get away. Close to the town centre and trips around Margaret River. Peaceful spot with plenty of wildlife to check out.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carmie (10/5): Excellent get away. - We like everything about this accommodation. A little out of town (not to much) and close enough if needed. The facilities were exceptional. Nothing to fault. Nothing. It was perfect.
- Kimberley (9/5): Lovely stay - will recommend! - Check in and out was a breeze with clear information from the owners. The location was great - easy to drive to Margaret River town and also to the beaches and vineyards! The kitchen was fully kitted out and made it easy to prepare some meals at home (oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, stove, dishwasher available). Also had a washing machine which was helpful as we were staying for a week! Would have been nice to have had a bbq but not the end of the world! There was a nice outdoor space with a dining table and chairs so we could eat outdoors if we wanted
- Hsin-ru (10/5): Exceptional -
- Audrey (10/5): Our new home away from home! - As an Aussie that grew up in WA I wanted to give my American husband (on our one week trip to WA) the most “authentic” bush experience I could given our short time here.
Flame Tree Retreat is PERFECT!! A short drive to downtown Margaret River and a short drive to Surfers Point (it’s right in the middle of both!) made the location absolutely perfect!
The home itself is beautifully decorated, keeping everything simple but elegant, fitting in with the natural environment. Everything was sparkling clean and the beds very comfortable.
The highlight for my husband and I (especially him!) was sitting on the verandah and watching the numerous kangaroos grazing at sunset.. and at dawn! The verandah is the perfect spot to watch the Roos and kookaburras in the most peaceful and serene setting. The other highlight was the stars! There is no light pollution and if you go out when it’s dark, there are millions of stars that just cover the sky!
Flame Tree Retreat is worth every cent! The owners are easily contactable if needed and everything was a breeze!
I think I won wife of the year award by stumbling on this home and booking it! It is a home away from home (the energy there is incredible) and I know we will definitely be back again next time!
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Legrand (10/5): Would go back anytime - Very modern and equipped house. High quality furniture and clean. Not many plates/bowls/glasses (only 3 units per set).
- Marinkovich (10/5): Perfect getaway and amazing views to wake up to, we loved every moment - Beautiful accomodation in an amazing location. It has everything you could ask for and was perfect for a getaway from a big city. Nothing, everything was perfect.
- Mohd (10/5): Very cozy & comfortable - We stayed for 3 nights and it was very convenient for my family.
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hester (10/5): We had the best stay here during our visit to Margaret River. Spacious, comfortable and clean. Loved sitting on the pati - Modern, comfortable and just perfect Nothing 😊
- Emanuele (9/5): Superb - Spotless clean, kangaroos around the property beautiful surroundings. Nice and calm environment perfect for a weekend of relax and close to everything, from beaches to caves and wineries
- Donald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saunders-barker (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we would recommend the property 😊 - The property was well positioned for ease of travel to many destinations, enjoyed the fact that we were not far from the town centre by car. The bed was lovely and comfortable. Very modern and well designed. TV was a bit small for the size of the living room. The settee was very uncomfortable to sit on. Inside was very clean. The outside of the building could have done with a clean down. The outside table and chairs could have done with a wipe down and cobwebs on the chairs removed. The two big chairs outside were just too uncomfortable to sit on, could have done with two big cushions.
- Katharine (10/5): Exceptional - It was more comfortable and homely than expected. Easy to get to surrounding caves, wineries etc while still being in the countryside.
- Andrew (8/5): Beautiful and comfortable accommodation in a lovely rural setting near the township of Margaret River - The property was comfortable except the pillows which were very thick and hard so gave the neck a major workout during the night. The building was a lovely space with all the kitchen appliances needed for a few days stay Internet was extremely slow and as the area is in a mobile dead spot this created a lot of frustration
- Kathryn (10/5): Perfect stay - Clean unit that contains everything that you need. Also, it’s a quiet location with some awesome kangaroos visitors Nothing
- Lee-lis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leah (9/5): Had a lovely stay in a lovely place. Would definitely go back again. Host was lovely - Good little property. Good location 10min drive from town. The property itself was nice, modern and light. Lovely waking up to kangaroos and scenery. Great mattress on bed. Had everything we needed To be picky as we stay in a lot of accommodation- The pillows could have been better. The TV is very small, although good quality. Better cooking utensils would have been appreciated. The dusting in property needed a bit of closer attention.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed looking at all the wildlife. Excellent location. Nothing, it was perfect!
- Jose (10/5): Beautiful. - The accommodation and its surroundings were both beautiful and peaceful, not too far from Margaret River. It was clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything necessary. The beds were incredibly comfortable, making them a perfect place to rest after exploring the Margaret River area. My son was thrilled to see kangaroos every morning. Overall, it was an absolutely beautiful experience.
- Elaine (9/5): Really good. - Everything was good apart from insects Quite a bit of flying insects
- Chantel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation was perfect, very clean and comfortable. Having to leave
- Day-jones (10/5): Perfect - Miriam and Beth are amazing hosts and go above and beyond for the guests. We were in a rush to leave the property in the morning and forgot phone charges. The hosts sent the chargers express post to us without any fuss. They made it to us before we left the country, which meant so much to us.
- David (9/5): Great stay if you don’t mind being oustidf of town. Looking to see kangaroos then this is the place! - Excellent surroundings. Not too far from town (5 min drive). Waking up with the kangaroos. Outside fire pit and indoor floor rug would have been more cosy. A little further away from town than expected.
- Joanne (10/5): Short and sweet , couldn’t ask for more. - The beds were exceptional, the bathroom roomy and lovely and kitchen had everything you need.
- Amy (10/5): You MUST stay here at the Flame Tree Rootreat! It was a 25 out of 10! You won’t regret it! Best money we spent in all o - Should be called Flame Tree Roosort. The house was perfect. I’m the pickiest person I know and I couldn’t find a flaw. Location out of 10 was a 25! We had been straining our necks searching for kangaroos on the road, then pulled onto our road and found at least 50 in the neighbors yard. We took a sunset stroll and counted about 90. Our first morning we took a sunrise walk and stopped counting at 163 kangaroo within 5 houses and one block. The next morning we woke up to 8 Kangaroos in our yard. I enjoyed my coffee at sunrise surrounded by Roos. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the whole house felt like a modern home of a quaint neighborhood! You MUST stay here! You won’t regret it!
Best money we spent in all of Australia! Nothing. It was perfect!
- Gabby (10/5): Beautiful accommodation and location. Highly recommend! - Beautiful accommodation and location.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (8/5): Very good - The location and condition of the property. Throw rug - 2 would have been nice and a better quality. The rug provided was not comfortable.
4 of each item is not sufficient for this standard of accommodation, can't have a meal and a snack without washing up. The dishwasher can never be filled so it feels wasteful to use it.
- P (10/5): Nice compact stay with all ammenities - Lovely and clean. Nice soft towels. I arrived quite late, the lights were left on which meant I wasn’t fumbling my way around in the dark I didn’t expect neighbours to be so close (although this was not an issue whatsoever)
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chantal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashley (9/5): Loved the accommodation, not far from town but completely in nature. - Great place to stay, not far from town. Good facilities.
- Sarah (8/5): Lovely private stay with views in Margaret River - Great location close to Margaret river town and the beautiful beaches in the area. Comfy beds, powerful shower and we enjoyed having dinner under the stars outside. Clean and quiet for a great nights sleep. Knives were extremely blunt, which made it difficult to cut anything. More cutlery would be helpful (e.g.there were only 4 forks / knives) and a 4th outdoor chair (there are only 3). Otherwise felt well equipped.
- Giuseppa (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): A great little cabin in a great part of the world. - Perfect for a short stay. Nice quiet location with plenty of kangaroos.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb - we absolutely loved the inside of the property could do with more kitchen equipment outside very old uncomfortable furniture nowhere to relax and take in the gorgeous view. plants not maintained all dead
- Susan (10/5): Beautiful little getaway - Flame Tree Retreat has beautiful modern facilities, furnished with a gorgeous country feel.
It was just what we needed, a spacious family room for games with the kids at night, and the air-conditioner worked a treat as we were there during the heat wave.
The kids' favourite was waking up and seeing kangaroos right out the front of our cabin! Kangaroos are aplenty in the area, and they loved it.
It's a great spot located just 6 minutes drive from the Margaret River Bakery! Nothing I didnt like!
But if I had to really pick at something, an option for 2 single beds in one of the rooms would have been handy, as the kids would have preferred not to sleep together, but having said that, they were both so excited about the cabin, it didnt really matter in the end. Maybe a tissue box on the coffee table would have sweetened it even more.
