Guest Reviews
- Victoria (10/5): - El frío Me gustó todo
- Guest (10/5): -
- Mateus (9/5): Superb - The staff is very polite.
Breakfast consists of coffee or tea, one bread, some sliced fruits (banana, apple, pineapple) in a bowl and one egg.
- Patchworker (8/5): Very good -
- Philip (6/5): A pleasant stay - The building was a lovely old building. The shower room was spacious. Nice family run place. The breakfast was standard for what I have had before. The room had an unusual skylight and was quite dark. There was no facilities for cooking.
- Lanrtp (9/5): Superb - The owner is very kind and helpful. She gave me many useful suggestions and I enjoyed my stay there. no kichen for cooking
- Aika (10/5): La vida es muy buena a lhostal la chorrera! - Everything was perfect. The lady with her mom were incredibles to us! We had problems and they tried everything to help us! Breakfast is always good and typical!
- Janet (9/5): I would definitely stay there again - The people that run the hostal are so nice, it felt like staying with a family. Tried so many different fruits for the breakfast, and they told the spanish name. It was a national holiday during my stay and the host explained everything to me. As a female solo traveller, I felt they cared and I felt safe staying with them. Location was a short walk to everything in the historic centre. Nice Christmas decorations. Nothing really, it was a great value for the price. Was a bit cold at night but there was an extra blanket that was a great help.
- Maria (10/5): Great - The owner is so gentile and nice, breakfast is great for the price and overall clean Nil
- Josiah (10/5): Exceptional - It was a beautiful house. A big breakfast to start the day. Great location and easy to find. Nothing
- Claudia (9/5): Great - The owner was really kind and let me use her kitchen to cook quinoa and mushrooms as the guests kitchen only had a microwave. Not many guests so had a shared room just for myself
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - The owners of the hostal live onsite and are so helpful and sweet!! I had a simple private room which was very comfy, quiet, and well equipped. Breakfast always had good coffee and yummy fruits. Nothing. It was great for me!
- Barbara (9/5): Superb - I enjoyed my stay. The family is very nice and it's very quite. Also good hot water and a nice breakfast. It's rather cold in the room, but that would be the same anywhere I guess.
Needs a bath mat for the floor after a shower.
It's kind of a long walk to the city center.
- Hagay (10/5): Perfect - The staff is nice, good breakfast, good price, beds are comfortable. It's a little cold at night, but it's really not a big of a deal.
- Juan (9/5): Good value, great location. - The breakfast was the best ever! Everything was OK
- Tomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eva (10/5): Definitely nice enough for the price! - The value was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building felt secure. I loved having my own private bath for the price. The shared areas are very nice. I really didn't have any problems there. I just wish there was a bigger local grocery store with more options. There was a big grocery store with enough: Tia. However, I like really big ones with LOTS of options because I'm a pain-in-the-butt finicky eater, haha!
- Kostiantyn (9/5): Nice simple family run hostal - historical building, great location, family atmosphere, private bathroom for this price, freshly prepared breakfast, enough warm blankets.
- Rowena (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (10/5): Anna Melnik, from Russia, Saint Petersburg - I spend 4 nights in this amazing place. I took separately room. I was imagined of clear in my room, and rooms for 4-6 persons too. It is accomodation include good lining and blankets, very nice breakfast, with a lot of quality coffee and fresh juces.
I feel myself likr at home, the owner and stuff were so hospitable, builds friendly and warm relations with guests, will always help with gentle advice I have not critical remarks! I recommend this hostal
- Kyle (10/5): Great hostel at a great price. Unbeatable value, great host :) - Exceptional value, a very kind host, and a great breakfast. The old building is charming and while it wasn’t all that social the travellers I met here were very interesting. Anita speaks good English and can help you plan trips around the city. There are good restaurants close by. The hot water runs out quickly, and the top floor is open air, so it can get quite cold at night.
- Cassandra (10/5): Exceptional - Had a great stay at this hostal. The bed was super comfortable, loved the matress. The hosts are so kind and helpful and gave me lots of informations. The location is also pretty good and they have the absolute cutest dog. would definitely come back. Muchas gracias por toda su ajuda!
- Simone (9/5): Superb - The building was very nice with big rooms. The location is aproximately 15 minutes away from the centro historico and there is a supermarket nearby. The owners are super friendly and try to explain everything to you. I really liked the coffee.
Muchas gracias, Hasta luego
- Julie (10/5): What a nice quiet place! - Everything! Nice family, good basic breakfast, quiet, clean, good wifi, hot water and well located Maybe just a little hard to find on Google maps and mapsme but search "hotel David"
- Linda (10/5): Taken care of like a member of the family - This family run business went out of their way to be helpful with directions, bus transport and even walked us to a near bus stop. I loved the variety of the breakfast with special attention to having fruits/juices not grown in the US. I would stay here again.
- Julie (10/5): Colonial and cozy - Sooo cozy! Great "family time", Anita is super sweet and the place is well located! Nothing!
- Karleah (8/5): amazing homestay , hosts were super welcoming and treated us like family would stay again and recomend - great location, cozy
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely family home who really go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. Really enjoyed this visit and we look forward to returning.
- Hossein (9/5): Superb -
- Leonard (10/5): Friendly and helpful - Very friendly and welcoming staff. Helped in every way they could! The room was clean and nice.
- Caito (9/5): Quaint hostel with a homestay vibe - The owners are THE BEST! It is clear how very much they care about the atmosphere and their guests. Communication was easy, quick, and thorough throughout the planning process and put us at great ease travelling in to a new country for the first time. We appreciated the genuine care and concern they gave us, even with our little Spanish- speaking ability, to get to know the city and their culture. We really enjoyed our time together with the sweet women over breakfast together. The fresh breakfast included is a great value and wide variety of local fruits was a wonderful way to begin each day. This hostal has a very pleasant homestay-like feel. Upstairs and downstairs common areas are very cute. The added Christmas decorations made it very festive. Highly recommend this place for something extra special during your time in Quito! Don't hesitate to book your stay now! There was a lot of construction going on to the upstairs area. Unfortunately, this was during the time I was sick all day in bed from long travelling. This is not a complaint. We understand the immense amount of historic ongoing upkeep necessary. The improvements will only make it better for the comfort of future guests.
- Wanderingtom (9/5): Nice Place - The hosts were amazing, very friendly and accommodating. Good breakfast every morning. Lovely dog. Warm shower. Good location in the daytime. WiFi a bit slow. Room was a bit dirty when I arrived. Area felt a bit unsure at night.
- Marika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - I really enjoyed my stay here. It's a quiet hostel in a great location and it's run by an amazing family, they are very kind and helpful.
The beds are comfortable, the showers are great and they make a really nice and fresh breakfast every morning.
I really recommend staying here.
- Jack (10/5): You won’t find a more comfortable or better value stay anywhere in Quito - Hostal la Chorrera is outstanding value for money! It’s in a good location with a supermarket and restaurants a matter of steps from the hotel. It is also walking distance from the Basílica del Voto Nacional and historic centre. Having said that the best bit of the hotel is without doubt the staff who will do absolutely anything to make sure you’re that your enjoying your stay. Whenever I pass through Quito in the future, I’ll definitely be returning!
- Polly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, amazing staff and delicious breakfast made from fresh and local ingredients! Very good value for money.
- Kamila (10/5): Lovely place with awesome staff - The Staff was amazing. Very helpful and caring. I have never met nicer people, seriously. We felt like we were part of the family, not just guests.
Tasty, local homemade breakfast prepared by Ladies running this place. Everyday fresh fruits and natural juice.
Location is great - just a few steps grom Basilica and old town. Many bus stops nearby.
- Giselle (10/5): All-around great homey stay - Really cute bed & breakfast type place. Cozy, super friendly staff, and quiet. The location right in front of a park is great (and you can easily walk downtown). Breakfast was great too. All around recommended!
- Max (8/5): Good value in a great location but not very comfortable - Good location, there is everything needed and the staff is super welcoming. Hot showers and overall good value for the money. The bed was super hard and the rooms are partially opened at the top so it hets noisy and a bit cold
- Miguel (9/5): the Family was very nice and cozy - the owner a little cold and the TV DIDN’t work
