Guest Reviews
- Neil (8/5): Stay in the heart of albaicin distric in a historic house - Fantastic view of Alhambra from the mirador room in a historic building 5 minute walk on cobbles with cases to get to the property
- Agnes (7/5): Good -
- Eduardo (10/5): Was an unforgettable stay in one of the most beautiful places in the world, Albazin, Granada - Jesus went above and beyond for me to have an unforgettable stay at his XVI century place. The toilet seat, clean but needs to be replaced ;)
- Wan (9/5): You won’t regret staying in such a charming place! - It was such a privilege to stay in a 14th-century historic building beautifully arranged by an artist!
We loved the plants and fresh flowers in the space, as well as the host’s artwork and collection of books. The room was very spacious, and the view of the Alhambra through the large windows was absolutely stunning! It might be because it’s an old building, but the water pressure in the bathroom was a bit low.
- Arnold (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing views in a historical building Wifi struggles, but that was due to the power outage in Spain and our of anyone's control
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming
Beautiful view of Alhambra
Very cool communal places, great art
Perfect accommodation
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joe (10/5): Great place ina great spot. A walk back in time yet 5 mins from Plaza Nuevo - Authentic 16 century house. Not fussy and beautiful. Great location. Felt more like a home than a hotel. Cozy and obviously much loved by Jesus , its owner I liked everything. The check in procedure could have been clearer
- Charles (10/5): Lovely, authentic Albaicín experience! - Beautiful old (parts of the house dating to the 1100’s) palacio in the heart of the Albaicín. Our room had a view of the Alhambra, which is spectacular, especially lit up at night. Easy walk to town, cafes and bodegas just down the road (although quiet at the home), and not far to walk to the Alhambra and other sites. Jesus was a great host and his place has a wonderful Boho vibe.
- Viv (10/5): So much character - Having looked at all the reviews i knew in advance that this property was difficult to find but Jesus emailed us beforehand with directions and advice regarding where the taxi could park and he met us to help with the luggage ( I do not travel light so thank you ) The location in Albacin, exceeded our expectations we wanted to stay somewhere with history and that is exactly what we got none of the picture do the accommodation justice The property is unique and decorated with so much character its clear that the restoration of the building by Jesus is a labour of love . The view from the balcony of the Alhambra and Granada was breathtaking . Jesus helped with loads of recommendations for places to eat and this 100% helped us get a real feel for Granada Nothing
- Robyn (10/5): Exceptional - It is a beautiful place in a great location and the host was very hospitable.
- Gardiner (10/5): Don’t look, just book! - This property although difficult to find in the winding hills of Albacin, exceeded our expectations! Jesus made sure everything was to our liking and he really takes pride in this place. It felt like we were one of the locals with a little tavern right around the corner from us. It was close to the main square. We couldn’t have been more happy!
- Debra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Céline (9/5): Superb -
- H.j. (9/5): Fortunately, we had arranged for 3 full days into a fine Mirador - The motivation for visiting Granada was the attempt to visit the Alhambra and to review its location and purpose within a landscape of spectacular surroundings and most remarkable historical events. The approach and visit of this unique place unfortunately - but understandably - is struggling with enormous touristic interest making important sights hard/impossible to view.
Fortunately, the official attempts to confine ticket and access to a minimum - and there are many more sights to visit in the surrounding old city area.
- Victor (10/5): FABULOUS! We did not want to leave, want to go back to Granada & would definitely stay here again. - We wanted to stay somewhere with history that felt like we were staying in Spain (vs a chain or modern hotel). This property was beautiful and unique, our top floor room was bright and airy, and it included a large private balcony and beautiful views of the Alhambra and Granada. You will be surrounded by history, views, nature, beauty, art and books during your stay here. And the property manager Jesus (who is also an accomplished artist) really made our trip with his hospitality, knowledge of the city, and suggestions & recommendations, which allowed us to experience Granada feeling more like insiders vs tourists. We loved it so much we decided against traveling to another city, so we could enjoy and get to know Granada more. Thank you so much again, Jesus! There were minor hiccups that we feel are to be expected with staying in an historic property, and nothing that impacted our stay in any significant way.
- Alexander (9/5): Superb - Amazing location - in the former moorish quarter but not too ‘deep’ - close to main streets etc. Old building so need to appreciate it’s not a modern hotel, but it’s comfortable.
Super nice and helpful owner/manager Jesus - helped with the bags etc. even super early morning.
- Michelle (10/5): We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property! - Loved the beautiful property. Every room so pretty and the art was amazing. Jesus was an excellent host. He was very helpful and friendly. Only recommendation is to have a larger and more comfortable bed. The mattress was very rigid.
- Freya (9/5): We will be back! - What an incredible place to stay! The art and furniture was so special and we absolutely loved it. The views were also incredible. Our host was also so welcoming and helpful. The location is amazing and we were given plenty of recommendations of where to visit and eat. The only thing is that we did not have facilities such as coffee/tea maker, but as we were so close to everything we could pop out.
It can also be a little loud at night but we were fine.
- Em (9/5): Superb - This is a heritage style hotel and Jesus has put a lot of effort into renovating a historic & beautiful building. It is very central to everything you would want to see while in Granada.
The room was beautiful, spacious and clean. The bed for me was uncomfortable.
- Kamal (5/5): Passable - Mr. Jesus is very friendly and helpful. Location is great No help desk. Hard to reach if you have bags. However, Owner assisted us in the luggagaes
- Yahya (9/5): My stay was comfortable - The location is convenient. The building is vintage and very neat. Jesus is a friendly and welcoming host. N/A
- Pablo (10/5): A view that will make you gasp. - This place is not for people who want a Dubai-style 'luxury' hotel with a fake marble walk-in shower or rows of freebie shower gels. It is perfect for romantics. The view is enough to make you gasp - a row of arched windows looking out over Granada straight to the Alhambra and, to the right, views to the Cathedral. Absolutely magnificent. A huge, spectacular room, the balcony entirely private and not overlooked by anyone or anything. You can sit in the evening and watch the dusk and the moon rise over one of the most beautiful places on earth. A perfect central location. Comfortable seating areas in the huge room, as well as charming seating areas in the rest of the historic building, which is centred by a beautiful Renaissance open-air courtyard. Really personable decor and a very nice guy in charge. We didn't go looking for 'luxury' comforts so we weren't disappointed by how homely and rustic it was. It added to the charm. If you want a mini-gym then there are plenty of small expensive rooms in ugly hotels near the motorway that will give you that.
- Daryl (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic house with views of the Alhambra. Jesus, the owner, was very friendly and helpful.
- Nicolas (9/5): Superb - Location was excellent, in the center of Albaicin , walking distance to Plaza Nueva. Excellent views of Alhambra and a fantastic Mudejar Style room.
Very helpful team Perhaps another heater in the room could help.
- Denis (9/5): Lovely characterful & authentic - A stunning, beautiful old historic house. Steeped in history.
Jesus could not have been more helpful and gave us lots of tips where to visit.
Also let us check out late. The property cannot be reached by taxi - a cab will get you close but you need to walk through old narrow streets to arrive.
Be aware also - Granada is built on lots of hills. This property is half way up a hill.
- Dagmar (9/5): Authentic Albaicín atmospere, eclectic design, cosy and unique place - Excellent locatiom, authentic environment and design, cosy, original
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Cosmin (10/5): Exceptional - This place is magical. Steeped in history, beautifully decorated, ideally located for exploring Albaicín and Granada. My room had amazing views of the Alhambra
- Jeroen (10/5): Exceptional - It is a beautiful 16th century house, in which the historic atmosphere is still fully present. The house has a beautiful patio. The house is located in the historic district of Albacin close to the Alhambra, which is visible from the house. We had a very spacious room. The host is very friendly and gave many tips.
Due to its location in the old district, the house is somewhat difficult to reach, only on foot, via narrow streets with stairs, but that is part of the experience of staying in a historic district. Nothing.
- Anna (10/5): Lovely accommodation in the heart of Albaycin! - This is a lovely mudéjar style house with beautiful rooms (with artistic details) and a truly wonderful host, Jésus. Everything was great, thank you.
- Brent (10/5): Exceptional - This is a beautiful building and a great place to stay, with a wonderful host!
- Miki (10/5): Exceptional - Marvellous place situated in the heart of old town of Granada, in a 16th century mudéjar style architecture, with a sophisticated decor and functioning equipments. A thouroughly charming couryard welcomes you. I fully enjoyed the view of Alhambra in the sunset from my room window. The hotel owner, who is an artist, greeted me with excellent hospitality. Highly recommended for art and history loving travellers. Tips (esp. for East Asians:) as the room floor is made of old stone, bring room slippers if you want to take off shoes in your room. Also as the streets are in pebbles, do not bring heavy or large suitcase but leave them at the station.
- Hugo (8/5): Very good -
