• Schwab (8/5): - Restful location. A rare opportunity to be in a rural location without blaring music from the neighbour's or without being woken by a chorus of dogs, or roosters. Andres arranged the taxi services for us and the rates were reasonable. A good place to relax after long term travel.

• Charles (10/5): Peaceful and relaxed - Great stay, comfortable and peaceful, owner is very friendly and helps with booking taxi to the accommodation $4, it is also a walk of 35-45 mins to the town along a road near the jungle. Great place to relax and listen the wildlife around you

The location is perfect if you want to disconnect and enjoy the beauty of the forest. On top of that, the breakfast was absolutely delicious – a wonderful start to each day

• Nina (8/5): - Es un lugar hermoso para alejarse del ruido de la ciudad y poder tener un espacio de tranquilidad muy hogareño. Hay una cocina que puedes usar para preparar comida y si te gusta en verdad caminar, puede ser una opción porque está situado a unos 40 min-1 hora de Mindo, todo depende de tu caminar. El piso de la sala común a veces no estaba limpio.

• Manon (10/5): Parfait - Ce logement est incroyable. Un peu excentré du centre ville mais ça en vaut vraiment la peine. On peut observer tout plein d'oiseaux et de papillons depuis la terrasse, c'est calme et paisible. Andres est super accueillant, très arrangeant et donne pas mal de conseils.
• Nicole (10/5): A beautiful and serene place to stay. - A beautiful accommodation, the loveliest we’ve stayed in in Ecuador, and for a great price. Well equipped kitchen, quite social and very peaceful. The owner, Andres, was very helpful and accommodating and he had a very friendly dog too. The shower was also lovely and hot. Wish we could’ve stayed here longer! It is a little out of the centre of Mindo, but you can either walk the 35-45 minute path through the jungle, or Andres will quickly and cheaply get you a trusted driver to take you the whole way for $4

• Dale (10/5): A perfect paradise in nature - La Chonta is an incredibly special place. It is such a beautiful space immersed in nature. We saw Toucans, parrots and so many other birds from the balcony. It was nice staying a bit out of town in nature. There is so much to do around Mindo, I wish we had more time. When we arrived, Andres was our host, but leaving as a friend. He joined us on morning walks, showed us great places to eat, and we shared many stories along the way. Thank you for everything and we cannot wait to come back. I recommend La Chonta as one of the best places we have stayed anywhere. Don't think, just book. Everything was perfect

Cool outdoor kitchen, few hammocks and little birds coming to say hi. It is a 40min walk to the city, or a 7 min taxi ride. Since we love walking, especially in the nature, this was plus for us.

• Tom (10/5): Immersed in Nature, spacious and comfortable rooms, hot showers, birdwatching from hammock! - Beautiful secluded nature, but close to town (peaceful 40 minute walk). The host is very friendly and provides coffee in the morning. From the common area you can see many birds-- save yourself some money on bird tours and just relax in a hammock. Comfy beds, hot shower, can't hear a single sound of civilization. Will stay again!

• Irene (10/5): Outstanding night if you’re looking for nature - The space was amazing loved the views and the outdoor kitchen. Perfect place for free bird watching. Great place to experience the nature. The host was extremely helpful even when we didn’t have cash on us he vouched for us for the groceries and we could use his laptop for downloading maps on my watch. But we got upgraded to the nice room 😊 It’s a bit of a walk from the city center but that’s what you get when you book a night in the forest 😊 and it’s save to walk
• Wayne (10/5): A perfect place to relax and recoup whilst enjoying the many birds the area is famous for - It’s in a beautiful secluded location, a proper little garden of Eden. We loved the outdoor kitchen living area where we could experience the cloud forest with all its sounds and sights day and night. Our host Andres is relaxed, friendly and a great source of local knowledge and information, very helpful. The most annoying thing about this place and my partner whole heartedly agrees was having to leave.

If it's a group of friends or who are expecting no noise from the modern city , it's a perfect place . The location is a little inside but you won't regret it if you are looking for a place with only nature.

There were plenty of comfy places to hang out, the bed and linen was great, and Andres was such a fun host!! We felt right at home immediately and were really sad to leave.
