Guest Reviews
- Helen (9/5): Good value for money and in a really good spot - I've stayed here a few times usually my mid point from Melbourne to Mudgee and return. I like the meals and I always get a free drink with that so that's also nice. The staff are always friendly If I didn't like it I wouldn't stay there
- Jill (8/5): - Clean and tidy
Quiet and comfortable
Good value for money
- Mandys Merimbula Unit (8/5): - Great location, lovely staff and nice rooms.
- Jennifer (7/5): I would recommend as a good place to stay - Easy access, comfy bed, tea making facilities, good shower, lovely old hotel feel, good value! The receptionist at check in told us the restaurant would be open for breakfast from 6am but when we turned up at 8am all chairs were on tables and a surprised staff member said they don’t do breakfast!
- Briony (10/5): Great 2 night stay - easy check in. great room. Comfy big bed. good shower
- Robyn (8/5): - Having the restaurant underneath was very good. Very basic room without benches.
- Rachael (10/5): Fabulous - would definitely stay again and recommend! - Everything! Perfect location was right in the middle of the hustle and bustle with local conveniences like woolys and chemists and coffee shops across the road. Heaps of shopping places and other pubs & eatery’s on the same stretch of road - so good variety for sight seeing shopping meals and drinks! The pub itself is gorgeous, it’s an old character pub with lots of charm - fabulous food menu everything was really yummy - awesome cocktail menu - nice bar & bistro atmosphere & really friendly staff - and a pretty cool beer garden. Room was also really big, well appointed, good view, heated, and had a very comfy bed & good hot water/water pressure. 10/10. The pokies room was average. Not many machines to choose from. If you wanted to have a fun “casino” type night of drinks and pokies you’d be better off heading to the RSL for example…
- Brame (8/5): -
- Cocks (10/5): Overall I was very impressed with my room and staff. - I prefer to have firmer pillows to sleep on.
- Sabrina (9/5): Great stay in the city of Wagga! - I didn’t realise the rooms were on top of a pub, but it didn’t matter! Great location, easy walk around the city of Wagga. Very comfy, quiet room. Nothing
- Shannon (10/5): Beautifully renovated at a great price! - Rooms beautifully renovated. Beds super comfortable. Large bathroom! Bistro downstairs super convenient. As I arrived later in a Saturday evening parking was a little hard to find.
- Hansen (10/5): -
- Martin (5/5): This place was very disappointing. I would not stay there again. - Central location This is touted as 4 stars. It is 2 stars at most. The rooms are very primitive. The building is old and shows it. I had a water pump in the ceiling of my room which was noisy all day and night.
- Lily (7/5): Good price and location but a bit noisy - The room and bathroom were very well looked after and a very nice size. It was easy to check in and out and was close to the shops and Main Street with parking available as well. I didn’t realise that it was on top of a pub so it was quite noisy until around 12-1am. However that was my mistake, everything else was very nice
- Jeanette (8/5): Comfortable, above a hotel but remarkably quiet - Central location, comfortable bed, large room.
I didn't realise it was above a hotel and would've never booked on a Saturday night. However, it was remarkably quiet for having a band downstairs. Above all hotel. Not secure parking
- Maree (8/5): -
- Kym (7/5): -
- Suzanne (6/5): Ok. But not great - Parking, close to shops and food outlets. Too loud- the door between rooms was so flimsy we could hear the man next door doing anything and everything. Noisy street too. Doona smelt unclean, although the sheets were clean. The bar fridge was noisy all night cycling on and off.
- Andre (8/5): All Good - Good spacious bathroom, excellent shower ( well refurbished)
- Jane (10/5): fabulous !!!! Would highly recommend - Great comfortable room . Communal tea coffee microwave If needed . Own fridge and kettle in room. Lots of bar areas to cater for everyone. Great location ! Central to everything and the staff were fabulous!! and very helpful 5 stars guys !!!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great room , although the ensuite didn’t have a door on it so not very private if you needed a number 2 :) , but there was shared toilets to use so that solved that little problem.
- Elizabeth (8/5): A pleasant stay if you don't want to spend too much. - Good location. Nice refurbished bathroom. Nice to be offered fee drink voucher and $5 off meal. Room pretty small but adequate. Bed a bit soft for my liking.
- Tim (9/5): Would stay again - The staff where amazing especially in the bar
Good value for money Rooms where a bit dated
- Bert (5/5): - Rooms poorly furnished no table, chairs or hanging culboard for clothes Dr
- Wendy (4/5): Two days was two to many - Not much Was budget
- Liz (9/5): -
- Ronald (10/5): Best stay in Wagga Wagga! - I loved my room and all its amenities. I love the food. Of the dozen different places i have stayed at in Wagga Wagga, this is by far the best. I heartedly endotse and recommend. Nix
- Rosemarie (8/5): -
- Philip (8/5): -
- Kim (9/5): Enjoyed my stay except for the above - The property was in an excellent location . Rooms were clean and presented well . Unfortunately my room had a connecting room with an occupant who had the tv on very loud from 3am until breakfast time . Not the establishments fault but this made sleeping impossible
- Joo (5/5): -
- Jane (8/5): Overall loved the place and will stay again. - Love the place and staff were excellent and very helpful. Will stay again next time in town. Room was a bit small however suited for just 2 nights.
- Sam (7/5): -
- Yolanda (8/5): - While a little noisy on one night, the rooms are lovely. Close to all the good cafès and eateries. Comfy and love the renovated bathrooms. Music from the beer garden and one night someone was having a loud argument. But no complaints. It was worth the stay.
- Kim (10/5): Excellent! - It was fantastic to stay in a hotel that had an old historical charm yet had modern facilities. The added bonus of a restaurant was fantastic as well. The staff were exceptional as well and made the stay pleasant. The added bonus of an onsite restaurant was great with a good menu. If you are travelling through Wagga Wagga there is probably no better place to stay.
- George (8/5): Great place despite a noisy night - Great place to stay comfortable clean Noise from adjacent room just the one night was awful. Four people having a great time next door kept us awake from the early hours to the early hours they did quite down at around 5:30am 😂
- Janelle (10/5): - Everything was clean. Dinner was amazing. Staff friendly. 15 minute walk to Sturt Mall. Cafe across the street to grab breakfast
- Bruce (8/5): -
- Don (3/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Valerie (7/5): Good value and location - Large comfortable bed, renovated bathroom, big shower No hair dryer, drinking glasses
- David (3/5): Don’t stay here if you’re expecting cleanliness or quietness - Location was good, staff were good. Convenient that you can get a feed here for dinner and a few drinks. The room wasn’t well cleaned, was kind of cramped, lacking some maintenance also, and the split system struggled to keep the room warm.
The bit topper was being woken an hour before my alarm by mop heads clanging around in a washing machine, as the laundry was directly across from my room. Startling to say the least, when you’re trying to have your only sleep in for the last month
- Nicole (6/5): -
- Glenn (10/5): -
- Lee (9/5): Place was good central convenient as you could just go downstairs to eat food was good and really reasonable. Good nigh - Great for the price and for 1 night Nothing it was good
- Jayne (7/5): - Just needed a place to sleep. Bed was soft and room had a mouldy smell
- Charlee (9/5): -
- Adrienne (9/5): - The old hotel was beautiful and we had a lovely meal...
- Trevor (8/5): Attending a funeral 6 hrs from home needed a bed for the night it served the. Purpose thank you - Clean The aircon made noises all night
- paul (6/5): - Squeaky floor boards. Paint peeling off wall. Aircon set up 12 feet up at ceiling level.
- Benjamin (7/5): -
- Pánti (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Great location. Off street parking. Free drink and discount on dinner. Really good price and value.
- Jessie (8/5): Cosy room with spacious bathroom - The bathroom was very spacious and modern!
Room and building itself was older but still clean.
Got some complimentary vouchers to use at hotel downstairs which was nice. Room itself was a bit small with only space for a small table - no chairs.
On top of a pub which different affect us too much but maybe for those on weekend or Friday night.
- Jennifer (8/5): - good location
- Geoff (8/5): Good overnight stop. - Comfortable with good location. Nothing.
- Graham (5/5): Nice for one night, and very affordable. - Location is great It was a bit noisy till gone 10pm
- Andrew (8/5): It met our budget needs - Na I don’t like carpet from a hygiene point of view so this applies to many accomodations
- Man (8/5): We stayed for one night, ate in the restaurant downstairs, food was great and i like the atmostphere - The location was pretty much right in the main area of town. The place was well kept. Our room was in the corner facing the street, which afforded a good view. It wasn't noisy during our stay, even though there was a birthday party going on. The bed was good, and the room was tidy. The place has a historic vibe, which makes it even more special. A few more towels and a bigger or more bath mat would be nice.
- Liam (10/5): -
- Meggie (5/5): - Comfy bed, convenient location and nice renovated bathrooms. Staff are lovely. Damp / mouldy smell and no ability to open windows to air that out.
- Susanne (7/5): Our stay was enjoyable and we were given every assistance when required. - The staff of the Hampden Suites were excellent and went out of their way to assist us whenever we had a request. The room although small was clean with a comfortable bed and a new easily accessible shower and toilet. There was a kitchenette at the side of the corridor to heat food or cook toast. Lifts available for upstairs and a very good hotel bistro downstairs. The room had no seats for us to sit in the room. We had to sit on the bed to drink tea or coffee, watch TV or read.
- Susan (7/5): Unmentioned Hotel. - Great food at pub, lovely staff and the elevator was a boon. Lovely big bathroom. Not advertised in booking.com as part of a hotel. Noisy but went quiet about 10. Room too small and cramped.

- 30b92b1b2a8573089c7ab537e56f0b7a (8/5): Great spot - Nice tall ceilings, room was dark, bed comfy, really hot shower plus good food & drinks Stayed above where band was playing so I found it noisy, however, my husband didn’t hear anything!

- 9c9de35bce1b7346b756d1b88d2be415 (7/5): Will stay agai but likely avoid A Saturday or Friday night. - Clean, comfortable and safe. Noisy Saturday night.
- 18c45eb1a0e772eb05b88707e8c677d0 (8/5): Good for one night stay - A bit noisy
- Julia (8/5): -
- Megan (9/5): Convenient and comfy spot in town - The room was comfy, spacious and we weren't impacted at all by noises from the pub below. The location allowed us to get around Wagga quickly over the weekend, and we even had time for a quick dip at the Wagga Beach which is a 5 minute walk away. It was awesome, but would have been better with a lamp if possible. There was only the big room lighting.
- Liz (9/5): Great value for money and very comfortable - Very comfortable, staff are amazing!!!! The bin in my bathroom hadn’t been emptied after the last persons stay
- Orazia (5/5): -
- Pia (10/5): - Had e everything thing we needed an in town
- Louise (8/5): -
- SONG (7/5): - Under is hotel bar, sometimes little bit noise
- Adam (8/5): - Clean quiet and close to town Nothing
- Helen (10/5): -
- Paul (6/5): Price was good but that’s really it. - It was well priced which is what I was after. Ensuite was spacious. Bed was super comfortable. Handy having a pub downstairs. Room was awkward. Fridge on the floor. Power points weren’t overly accessible. Don’t use the aircon at night. Temp display is like a nightlight & unit was very noisy. Shower took an eternity to get hot water. So wasteful. Food in the pub was cheap enough but both meals were sent back because of missing sides. Wasn’t a great experience unfortunately.
- Paige (10/5): Loved the place, very friendly staff - We were only staying overnight on our way back from Melbourne to north coast so we were looking for a cheap place to stay as we would only be there for a very short time. It was a comfortable bed, the room was fine, the bathroom looked like it was new. Very impressed for the price nothing
- Justin (1/5): Bad -
- Lindy (10/5): All I can say is awesome thank you - The hole establishment was awesome
They had the best parmigiana and an awesome pub Nothing
- Tracey (8/5): Great value and rest - Central location, huge room. Noisy fridge
- Robert (Paddy) (5/5): - Good location. Old.
- Mona (7/5): -
- Nanise (9/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- David (7/5): -
- Jane (7/5): - Clean, everything we needed Was above the beer garden and very noisy
- Danielle (9/5): - It was great service. The pub and resturant down stairs made it easy for food and entertainment. Bonus gamacde. We stay on saturday night coulld still hear the music but was not loud.
- Ayon (4/5): Poor service - Location was great Noisy aircon that was not fixed even after being requested to. No staff member took ownership. One staff member pretended he is the manager and then directly avoided any further conversation.
Extremely disappointing customer service.
- Sandra (7/5): -
- pkalkman (1/5): Request a refund - Nothing Very poor.
The Hampden Suites does not compute using Google Maps and i found out after ringing their telephone to get directions that its actually the Romando' Hotel. A very basic room, no plates or cutlery or chairs to watch tv in the room and its a pub. Doesn't match their description online - duped.
If i had known that i would not have booked here, thinking that a suites accommodation was a bit up market.
A suite room is a high-end hotel accommodation featuringtypically offering a separate bedroom and living area, rather than a single standard room. They provide more space, privacy, and luxury amenities—such as kitchenettes, dining areas.
No door security - a dinky lock with a lot of play in the lock and no security chain (see attached photo).
No secure parking, its either in the street or a vacant block next to the premises.
Thumping band in the lobby below our room with a singer using the same dull tone, and not even understanding what he was singing and the bass vibrating through the room. Can't sleep and its nearing 11 at night and it goes on and on. They finally stopped a few minutes before midnight.
Then at around 2 am, the air-conditioning packed it in with a very loud bang and scratching sound.
Not happy after 5 weeks on the road staying at some great establishments. What a waste of money.
Don't recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Wagga Wagga.
Not a return visit to this establishment will not be considered and we'll see when i complete the
