- Monaliny (3/5): Proprietário super inconveniente - Local Água quente
- Evanthia (10/5): - Υπέροχος προσεγμένος χωρος με άψογη διαρρύθμιση,άνετο,πραγματικά υπέροχο ,η τοποθεσία εξαιρετική και πάρα πολύ καθαρό !
- Primorac (10/5): The host provided everything needed for the stay. The house is super cute and comfortable. -
- Angela (6/5): Host was a micromanager; killed my stay in Athens - This place was cute; it had character with the little loft for sleeping. The WIFI was fast and the A/C worked really well. IT had most things necessary to cook a meal etc. It was clean.
I am not sure where to start. I booked and paid the room in April (for June) The host started reaching out to me about arrival times in April. I have no idea in April what will take place in June; I should have seen this as a red flag. In the days before my arrival, he reached out via WhatAPP as to my arrival and made videos and such regarding parking, the key and basic apartment function. I thought, this is great, I didn't realize that it had nothing to do with me, but more about how he wanted me to use HIS LUXURY facilities. I arrived at midnight, and the windows were open (I did not realize this as I was tired and did not care). The next morning, he starts texting me about the windows and how I need to shut them and sent screen shots of the temperature in the facility (the A/C is hooked to WIfi). He is also sending photos of the lights and telling me I need to shut the outside light off and shut the window curtain if I am not there.
This was all disconcerting as how does he even know if I am there or not (I had walked to the grocery store). I didn't feel particularly good from the travel the day before and I felt like a teenager being harassed by a parent. I told him I would do my best and tried to accommodate all his needs (understand I had already paid and why am I trying to meet his needs?)
KEEP READING... The next day I was at the Acropolis and am receiving a phone call, it was him, he was upset because I left the outside light on and did not change the code to the key box. What on earth? I told him that he was behaving creepily, that I am on vacation and I paid for this apartment and did not understand why he was "watching" me. I tell him this is not ordinary, and he tells me that this is a "Luxury" apartment, and he won't have me ruin it. Um, I left the light on, and it was an accident as ALL the switches is together. He was adamant about the key box code being changed; I asked why when I had the key with me, he said "because I told you to". went on and on about how I left the windows open (he had them open).
Then he tells me he's calling booking, and I need to get out. WOW. Long story short, I call booking to make a complaint, I have paid and don't need to be stalked.
I text him; we find common ground and move on. I understand this guy's concerns, however, if you are so worried about your property being ruined that you need to micromanage your guests then you are in the wrong business.
He really put a damper on my stay in Athens. There was no luxury either, I am not sure what is in his head. The place was small and cramped; mattress on the floor, wobbly bedside table; the steps to the loft, don't take children or the elderly. only 3 large plates and 3 large bowls, no dishes; not table besides a coffee table.
On booking, I have reviewed 68 properties in 25 countries, I have never had a host act like this. He even claimed that there was no apartment in Europe as good as his. That's laughable, this trip alone I stay in 11 apartments/hotels in 5 countries, I just gave the lowest rating to his.
- Robertina (10/5): Amazing stay in a great location - We loved the studio and all the little thoughtful touches, like the extra light in the bathroom, the plants, the mosquito nets. The blend of minimalistic modern and personality, like the table and the lamp shades. You can tell the owner really put some effort in this.
It’s well equipped and enough for a couple, we stayed a week. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was great.
We met the owner, Alex, and he was really kind and helpful, I feel like we made a friend. :)
We parked the car in our spot and used the public system and taxis, very easily.
