Guest Reviews
- Tomasz (10/5): - Very small and quite village with past
Good location in between mountains and sea Troodos-Limassol
- Konstantinos (3/5): Poor - The village is lovely—calm, isolated, and rich in history. We truly appreciated its peaceful vibe. The property was extremely cold upon my arrival, and the only heating options provided were two electric heaters. No firewood was available for the fireplace, so I had to purchase wood at my own expense and used the fireplace for approximately 15 hours each day during my stay. Despite these efforts, it was impossible to maintain a comfortable temperature without relying on the electric heaters, which inevitably caused me to exceed the daily 10 kWh consumption limit.
This limit is highly unrealistic given the circumstances, especially during the winter season. The property is old, poorly insulated, and has a double-height design that makes it even harder to heat. Offering such a property without an adequate heating solution or a reasonable electricity allowance creates conditions that are not suitable for a comfortable stay.
Additionally, the lack of transparency regarding electricity meter readings is deeply concerning. Upon arrival, no one was present to show me the initial meter reading, and I was not informed that I should verify the reading myself. Similarly, there was no communication about recording the meter reading upon departure. As a result, I have no way to confirm the accuracy of the reported consumption, which raises doubts about the fairness of the charges.
I find this situation unacceptable. I feel misled by the listing, as it failed to make clear that the accommodation cannot provide basic living conditions during the winter without incurring significant extra costs. I believe this violates the expectations of a fair and comfortable stay.
- Gil (3/5): A bit of a disappointment - The property was spotlessly clean. Fireplace is large, usable and proved helpful (& necessary) in the cold evenings.
Management were responsive when I was finally able to reach them (see below). Even on Xmas eve and Xmas day. I appreciated that.
Large flat screen TV is pre-integrated with a Roku device which enables straightforward access to Netflix & other content services (use your own account of course and don't forget to logout when you leave). Main problem with this residence is its poor layout which makes it inconvenient. Let me explain. No windows except in the kitchen - it's like being in a cave. There is a private back patio of sorts, which is nice, but walled in on all sides by walls 10' tall. Main bathroom (with the shower) is one floor up. Also on the 2nd floor is the only closet with drawers and hanging space. On the first floor there is a cheap dresser with a few drawers, but it was falling apart. Bit of a struggle to open and close the drawers. (we let management know as we were leaving and they said they will take care).
Internet service kept crapping out. Restarting the router did not help. When I was able to contact management they had the service provider reset the line. But happened again the following day, and the day after.
I'm sure it will be resolved - but it was an inconvenience for us.
The whatsapp contact number that appeared in some of the communications & primary info sheet the property sent was wrong. So initially I received no response when we needed assistance. After 24 hours I went back to the booking correspondence and saw a different number there. That was the one. After that they responded.
Note: in their response to this feedback the hosts suggest I must have been confused. That's just insulting. There were actually 3 different whatsapp numbers provided in their different communications. Only one worked.
There were no provisions whatsoever. We've come to expect basic stuff like: Sugar, tea, coffee, salt, paper towels, tissue, shampoo in the bathroom & such. Some hosts provide more.
The 2 heaters provided were not enough to heat the place. Despite using the fireplace, we were cold.
And at end of stay they charged us 70 Euro for extra electricity use 'per their policy'. I thought that was plain Hutzpa.
Note: there's no AC at all - in summertime that might be a problem.
Also - There was a leak in the kitchen.
- Christos (9/5): Superb -
- Kris (8/5): Very good - Very atmospheric, quiet, nicely furnished. Great location for exploring. Wonderful taverna on the village.
We had some internet problems, but remote support was very helpful, even on a Saturday night. (They had to contact the ISP) Quite warm (beginning of June). Fans were available which helped. We left windows open during the night but nothing to stop mosquitoes....
Some cockroaches, but probably unavoidable. The agency were going to send someone when I told them when we left.
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional -
