It would be a small effort to erect some aesthetic cover across the doorway. On arrival I had to call the host as I couldn't open the key lock box.

They really messed two day trip!! - I contacted the property on Bookings.com the night before to request to drop off my bags before check in and I received no reply. The next day once on the island I called the property twice and as nobody picked up the call I left a message asking for them to call me back as I wanted to check somebody would be there on arrival as said on their bookings.com confirmation. I had received no other instructions via messages through bookings.com from the host. I took a bus there around 4pm and nobody was around , I called again, no answer. I saw another guest at a cabin and they told me they had a key code for their room. I was pouring down and I had no way to gain access. At 5pm I caught a bus and had to take a ferry back to the mainland as now I had no accommodation or way to get in. Once back on land I messaged the host through bookings.com to tell them what had happened this was around 6.30pm and at 8pm I had a generic message they had just sent. And the next morning they put me on bookings.com as a no show!! Amazing
• Emily (9/5): Loved it - Comfy, clean, spacious, tv and air con. It was a coll experience sleeping in a shipping container and I appreciated the welcome message from the staff on the chalk board. The bush next to the shower could do with a trim it was invading my personal space when I showered 😂

• CedyB (9/5): My partner and I had a great time here, it was exactly we wanted for a relaxing beach vacation! - The pictures do not do it justice! It is a charming and very private container home surrounded by tropical nature. The outdoor shower is a perfect addition to the place's atmosphere. There is so much vegetation surrounding it, it feels like you are in a jungle! The bed is super comfortable and the kitchen is exactly as described. The location is great too! Well situated near 2 bus stops and a walkable distance into Nelly Bay. The little private patio was perfect for morning coffees! The AC was very appreciated too. I had issues communicating with the host, but it turned out to be because of technical issues with Booking.com's messaging platform.

• Tanya (7/5): It was fine for a night - They kindly let me leave my bags by the door until check in time, but I didn't actually meet anyone. This is a converted shipping container, very close to another shipping container (or premises) next door. The bed was cozy enough, with a tv and air con. It was fine for one night. I had trouble accessing the code for the lock box for the keys as the text message with the info hadn't come though straight away on my phone. It would have been handy to have had this info before I left home as it's always deflating sitting outside a premises hoping someone will respond to you with a code...
• King (10/5): Private Oasis - This was a little oasis. It was small, but big enough for everything you need and not be cramped. It was unique, very clean and the owners couldn't be more friendly or helpful. It was further than walking distance from the ferry terminal, but there is a bus stop practically right out the front. I stayed with my grandaughter and we both fell in love with this place and I got inspiration for my own little oasis. The outdoor shower was amazing and the bed was very comfortable. I would most definately book this again and recommend it. There wasn't anything I didn't like, but if I had to be very, very picky, the only thing is the bed is a little high. I am 5 foot 2 and it took a little bit to get up on the bed, but again, that is being very picky and it wouldn't stop me from booking Sea-Green again

• gi (1/5): Terrificante - Ad essere sinceri proprio nulla Struttura all'interno di un container arrugginito, rivestito in legno. Il legno interno è consumato e nella parte bassa umido e maleodorante, appena si entra si ha l'impressione di entrare in qualche ripostiglio per gli attrezzi. La doccia esterna, dietro uno steccato in lamiera addossato al container, ha emesso acqua calda per 1 minuto, dopodiché è diventata ovviamente fredda. Si entra dalla strada da un cancello senza serratura, tutto aperto, si arriva alla doccia senza alcun filtro. La struttura si trova di lato a una isola ecologica dove i lavoratori iniziano alle 730 del mattino a fare rumore incredibile. Di notte tra: uccelli, cani che abbaiano e scricchiolii non si dorme poi tanto. Letto terrificante, senza commenti. All' esterno ci sarebbe un fornello per cucinare completamente arrugginito e un'amaca mezza ammuffita. Il container è appoggiato in terra, così la sensazione di umidità è accentuata. È la peggiore struttura mai prenotata con booking.com, che dovrebbe controllare meglio i propri gestori degli annunci. L'annuncio è fuorviante, in quanto non descrive la struttura come è organizzata. I container di solito si usano per lo stoccaggio delle merci e non per alloggio. Userò i canali di booking per richiedere un risarcimento.
• Jason (10/5): Perfect ‘rustic’ island escape! - I don’t even know where to begin! This was a charming little box with a very comfortable bed not too far from the terminal. It’s about a 20 minute walk from the IGA, fairly peaceful and pretty. The accommodation itself had everything you needed, a cute outdoor kitchen and amazing shower (it was winter on Maggie, enjoyed some hot showers in 13 degree nights!) I truly needed a relaxing retreat after working fairly hard and got absolutely everything I wanted and more. Can’t recommend enough - not an ultra luxurious stay with a private butler and masseuse, but a fantastic representation of island life, reconnecting with nature and living simply. Short walk to a beautiful beach, quiet neighbourhood, bus stop 3 minutes away to get you to all the cool spots on the island. Can’t wait to stay here again! Didn’t get to meet Himali and Nate (sorry if I spelled that wrong) but I’m sure they’re awesome, though I do have to say that while hands off self check in process was much needed and appreciated, I always felt like I could contact the hosts if I needed anything at all. 10/10 would recommend to someone who wants a simple, fuss free and low key/affordable option to spend some days on Maggie. It was only available for 2 out of the 3 nights I wanted to stay :( (not the fault of the hosts obviously!)

• Milly (10/5): Exceptional - My favourite place in Australia! I loved this little cabin so much. It was cute and quirky with an outdoor shower and space to cook outside. I loved the outdoorsy vibe it gave while be cosy inside with a big bed and tv to watch Netflix on. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting magnetic island. It was also in a great location which only took like 15 mins to walk to the main area

• Katherine (7/5): Good - The place was easy to get too from the ferry port via bus. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very nice and cosy. It was very clean. We honestly had a very nice stay. Unfortunately for us it was raining so it wasn’t possible to use the shower as it was fully outside. (I don’t think I would’ve wanted to use it anyway) but we were only there for one night so it wasn’t an issue. The toilet didn’t flush very well so it was quite difficult to get anything to flush, the water was just very weak so nothing went down easily. They just had a cyclone so the front of the property was flooded and we had to walk through mud to get inside (our feet were covered). Overall we had a very pleasant stay but I can see how the shower could be an issue if staying for longer depending on the weather.

• Jonathan (7/5): Perfect place to stay if not for the occasional bug. - Very easy to get to from the ferry, just a short bus ride. Outdoor shower is great. Cooking facilities (2x gas burners outside & microwave, kettle and fridge inside). Bed very comfy and loads of storage for such a small property. Great air conditioning. The occasional cockroach, but host did provide us with something to get rid of them immediately.

• Mia (9/5): Perfect for a short stay on Maggie island! - We would definitely return here! Near the bus stop, cosy little stay with highlight being the outdoor shower, toiletries supplied. Privacy screen on terrace would be a good idea, and fairy lights needed new batteries.
• Carol (9/5): Great little place - Located in a quiet street not far from a bus stop and a few minutes walk from the local Foodworks. Was the perfect stay for two people for 2 to 3 nights. There was a kettle with tea and coffee provided and there was a microwave oven. The shower was outside and it was just wonderful! Don’t expect anything flash but you will find it very homely and comfortable!

• Karen (9/5): Comfort at a very reasonable price! - SEA-green is a rustic self-contained unit. It is complete with toilet, kitchen and a very comfortable queen size bed. The shower is outside but very private and tropical. The unit is a retro fit sea container. The carpentry fit out is very interesting and inventive. I did not cook but the kitchen was well equipped with a reasonable size fridge. Everything is compact, so I would not recommend for a romantic stay unless the couple is used to combi style camping. The hosts are very lovely and easy going. This place was quiet and comfortable. The best value for money accommodation I have experienced during my trip to QLD, I have no complaints.

• Rachel (1/5): Terrible rusty trailer style lodging, avoid at all costs - Nothing My partner and I booked this place expecting a nice and relaxing getaway to Magnetic island but were horrified upon arriving when we noticed that absolutely nothing was as advertised. Firstly the shower is outside in a quite public area as anyone can enter through the front gate. The cooking stove is an outdoor one and was extremely rusty. The toilet seat was very loose and slippery. The bed was really high and uncomfortable. We immediately left due to being really uncomfortable and booked another place for 4x the cost as everything was already booked out. We requested a refund from the property and Booking and the property owners refused to refund a single cent. We have used Booking.com to book properties over 100 times over 10 years and never had an experience this awful. DO NOT TRUST THE OTHER REVIEWS - DO NOT STAY HERE!! There are so many other better properties in Magnetic Island, don’t waste your money since you will never get it back.

Handy location right by the bus stop or a short walk down to Nelly bay for care rentals etc, around a 5/10 min walk to the closest supermarket. Hosts gave really detailed instructions to access and kindly dropped us off at the ferry terminal after our stay which was greatly appreciated Everything was perfect

Outdoor shower is private, but access to the shower is very visible from the property entrance and even neighbouring properties, making it very necessary to be clothes to go shower, with nowhere to really put the clothes when showering.

• Ariane (6/5): Good budget option if you want your own space - The host was lovely and communicative. It was easy to get the keys. The shower had nice hot water and the overhanging flowers had a gorgeous smell. The aircon worked really well, as did the fridge. The bed was quite comfy. The location was very quiet. The place is located quite close to a bus stop and not too far from a small supermaket. The Wifi worked well. The gas stove worked well. The clothes horse was very useful after spending the day at the beach. The property is not very private as the vegetation does not hide the terrace from the main street. The pots and pans were quite filfthy and peeling off, making it unsafe to cook with. There were a few live cockroaches in the container home when we arrived and the place was generally not very clean. The tap water had a very unpleasant taste. The shower tap knobs were not securely screwed on and kept falling off, sometimes rolling under the elevated platform which was rather annoying. One of the lights in the shower did not seem to work, resulting in poor lighting in the evening which made it difficult to see the cane toads and not step on them. We had to use a torch to see the ground properly when stepping out of the shower. There was insufficient space for the luggage (we only had two carry-on bags - not even suitcases) and there was nowhere to hang clothes. There was only one small little bin with no extra bin liner, meaning that we had to take our rubbish with us to the bins on the street every couple of days.

• Jess (10/5): Perfect little spot, has everything you need. - We loved our stay in this little place! It has everything you need and is a great spot to explore Maggie Island from. The facilities in the property are excellent, as is the outdoor shower! The hosts are also fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. We’re going to miss it, if we ever find ourselves back on the island we will definitely stay here again.

Bed was super comfy and the whole place was cosy. Only minor inconvenience was the direction the bed was facing meant that if one person needed to get up in the night, they had to step over the other person.
