Guest Reviews
- DEAN (10/5): Pretty town, perfect accommodation, peaceful stay. - The cottage was large, neat, clean and very comfortable. We all felt “at home” the moment we stepped through the door. Such a lovely place to stay. There was nothing amiss with our accommodation.
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Brown (10/5): Just beautiful - Everything Direction and signage were a little hard bit we got there and loved it
- David (3/5): Family history visit spoiled by poor facilities - The location was very good. We had planned to investigate family history in the area. We are all retired (in our 70's) and although in good health we feel the cold. The property description for First Farm Cottage (not the other attached property) included "electric blankets" and "air conditioning". This was not the case. I checked other booking sites to find the same total misrepresentation. We would not have chosen the middle of winter had we known. The kitchen and second bathroom had no heating. The dining room heating was so inadequate we had to eat all of our meals in the lounge room.
The kitchen was tiny and the hot water and sink was poor. The dining room has a trip hazard that we all experienced.
This was not a pleasant stay and to think we paid over $500/night!
- Xiaosu (9/5): -
- Middleton (6/5): Average stay - Location was nice, overlooking the lake A few things to me to mention here, I wasn't happy with my interactions with the owner leading up to my stay. His communication about a possible double booking issue could have been a lot more professional.
Secondly, I thought I booked the whole 2rm cottage but we had half the cottage, which was fine except there was a group were staying in the main house, and the interconnecting door provided no sound attenuation and the blind over the window meant we could see unto their living area from our kitchen and vice versa.
Thirdly was wifi. Owner didn't advise the wifi password, but texted it on the night after we arrived, but as there is no cell phone coverage we didn't receive the wifi password until we went to town the next day. If there was an emergency we would have had difficulty contacting support services.
Overall nice location and comfortable place to stay but these things shouldn't have happened
- Tracy (8/5): Very good - The driveway !!!
- Selwyn (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay having a good look around the area and enjoying the peace, the birds -
- Bernard (10/5): Definitely recommend this getaway holiday house. - No breakfast but a very welcome voucher for good local cafe. Owner Drew was extremely communicative and gave great sightseeing suggestions and also attended quickly to a small issue. Kitchen was well appointed and convict house was very beautiful and artfully decorated in good taste. Sink plumbing leaked badly into kitchen and laundry floor. I am positive owner will fix promptly
- Ashleyn (4/5): Disappointing - The location was lovely, the house is beautiful. Our interactions with the housekeeper were fantastic and we appreciated all she did for us on arrival to help us settle in. We arrived at night, difficult to see the property properly to negotiate the steep driveways. Unfortunately they had forgotten/miscommunicated our stay so the house was not accessible. This meant highly stressful attempts to communicate with the hosts after traveling back into town to get access to the property as no cell phone reception in the area. Had been advised on prior email about breakfast/food supplies at the house which was not the case on arrival and no food options at time of arrival available in the local area. The hosts did provide food the next day with thanks at local cafe.
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomasina (10/5): Relaxing and comfortable stay - Quiet and cosy feel. The history was fabulous and the sandstone was beautiful Nothing
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Dominique (8/5): Relaxing - Historic value Driveway
- Keiran (7/5): Good - As basic as it gets, bacon eggs Access road, Kitchen,
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect for a secluded getaway, you do not feel like there is anyone else around. It's a stunning location and the house is sweet and homely.
- Chris (10/5): A very enjoyable and peaceful retreat in beautiful rural surroundings - outstanding location
excellent range of books to read
well furnished a dishwasher would be good
main access ramp to the veranda can be dangerous when wet
an axe to cut firewood missing
- Kylie (9/5): Superb - Beautiful setting, peaceful Signage at the front gate to make it easier to find
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leodm (10/5): Excellent getaway from the rat race, if only for a weekend. - Ambience, scenery, solitude all packaged into one stay. House was comfortable and all amenities catered for. Couldn't fault the house or amenities.
