Guest Reviews
- Dmitrij (8/5): -
- Loren (8/5): Fantastic value for money in a perfect location, if you don't mind it being a little run-down - Fantastic value for money in a great location 10 minutes' walk from the pyramids, with several good restuarants nearby. The owner can help you organise anything at a reasonable price. The building needs maintenance. But at the incredibly low price you are paying, you can't really complain. All of the essential things work.
- Pia (10/5): The staff is very serviceminded and kind. - Fantastic breakfast, we got very tasty falafel every morning as we asked for! No elevator.
- Artem (10/5): Truly exceptional experience because of Zak and his hospitality. - Location, cleanliness, breakfasts, helpful and humble owner.
- Lili (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tayrone (10/5): Zak is incredible friend. - Zak is an incredible owner. So helpful and educated! Thanks a lot, Zak! Next time we will definitely stay at your place again! Best wishes from Brazil! Tayrone & Leticia. Everything perfect
- Vincent (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jose (10/5): Amazing hosts and nice view of the pyramids from the balcony! - Had a very nice stay thanks to our very friendly hosts!
The place is at walkable distance to many restaurants with nice view of the pyramids.
Everything was super clean and the breakfast was very good! Would be good to have a sign outside the main gate so it’s easier to find.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Attila (8/5): Very good - Amazing view to the pyramids. Walking distance to the pyramids. Large terrace. Friendly and helpful owner. Loved the old style furnitures. One morning we did not get breakfast.
Was a bit noisy.
Coffee is just 3in1 type.
- Christian (9/5): Superb - The view from the apartment is really nice. The host is really friendly and helpful. He is preparing breakfast fresh everyday. The neighbourhood is quite dirty.
- Peter (10/5): Authentic Egyptian experience with wonderful host - We loved that the host Zack and his wonderful family were so nice to us, accommodating, made us delicious breakfasts, and were flexible about everything. Our room was big and cozy with traditional furniture and had beautiful pyramid view. This wasn't the accommodation's fault, but Cairo is very noisy in general day and night
- Marco (10/5): The rooms are clean, beds very comfortable. Breathtaking views! Typical breakfast cooked by the owner and super good!!!! -
- Petruk (10/5): Exceptional - I want to wholeheartedly recommend this place, I think he is the kindest person, and takes care of your stay And want your experience to be the best and most comfortable for you, especially in the Giza area. The view is amazing And the man is not looking to sting you like many people in Egypt do the tourists. A great and very nice man The rooms are really comfortable and big Air conditioner in the rooms. The most convenient price That you will find in every Giza with a promise, and everything you need around attractions he will organize for you. I travel the world a lot and this was the warmest hospitality I have ever received 10/10 will definitely come back to it again The flow of water in the shower But it's not a problem for him, it's a problem in all of Egypt and Jordan There is hot and cold water, everything is fine that the Egyptians like to raise the prices for tourists But I'm not talking about accommodation, in general But don't worry if you go on a trip with him or just a tour of the city and not in an organized way, he won't let them raise the price for you either Everything is great
- Tom (10/5): A great place and host - Pyramids Power Inn is a great place to stay whilst visiting Giza and Cairo and allows you to get a genuine sense and insight into how the locals live.
Zak is an amazing host and extremely helpful. He is able to arrange a wide range of day trips at short notice either with knowledgeable local guides or cheaper driver only options including pyramid and sphinx visits, museum, Citadel, palace and mosques, river Nile boat tours including meals and on-board entertainment, local market / bazaar trips, trips to Alexandria, Crystal mountain and deserts and many others.
He can help to negotiate competitive prices for local products and services and currency exchange. Delicious home-cooked meals are offered and prepared by his wife. Breakfast serving times are flexible and the choice is very generous and healthy including hummus, falafels, breads, yogurt, eggplant and other dishes, tea/coffee, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, jam, honey.
The view from the balcony of the three pyramids of Giza is breathtaking. The apartment has a homely, safe feel and the family are very friendly. It’s clean, fully air conditioned and has wifi. There is a shared kitchen with microwave and kettle available as well as a large fridge with a freezer compartment in each room.
- Anu (7/5): Good - The view of the pyramids from the room was good The lighting in the room.
- Mariia (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing location, very close to the pyramids.Great owner of the guest house. He can book excursions cheaper,as well as transfer or taxi. The owner is always ready to help with any questions. The rooms are very clean and comfortable)))Everything was perfect 🥰
- Slavica (10/5): I love this place… and I coming back soon - I came to Zak for four days with the aim of continuing to Cairo. However, I decided to stay here and extended my stay for another five days. I think this should explain a lot for you. The house in which the apartments and rooms are located is located 300m from the official entrance to the Pyramid of Giza complex. And the view from the terrace or balcony is indescribable. Zak and his family are more than helpful and very hospitable. I am a solo traveler and as a woman, I felt very safe and secure at Zak's place. He accompanied me and organized everything I wanted and thought of... or wanted to see. I really didn't worry about anything. The accommodation is very comfortable, the bed is excellent, the bathroom is good. But the most important thing is that it is really clean. If you wish, you can have the room cleaned every day. Everything is at a maximum distance of 25 km from the building and everything is very nicely connected... you can always hire a driver for a fee to drive you and wait for you from shopping. Internet connection is quite satisfactory. The hotel has free Wi-Fi, but a SIM card solves that problem perfectly for a few euros.
- Crissy (10/5): It was absolutely wonderful. - The owner and his family were absolutely wonderful!!!! They made us feel so very welcome. That was the best part of the trip. We had a safe and peaceful place to come back too at night and that really made a difference. The rooms are part of a larger home. They were clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable. I highly recommend staying for breakfast because the food they served was AMAZING!!!! My daughter devoured the falafels every morning. She told me that she missed the food in Egypt when we got home. I loved the trips that were arranged for us. I am sad that I didn’t stay longer. Because everyday was a grand adventure. The owner will arrange all of the trips for you and provide a car to take you where you want to go. The drivers are excellent and safe. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend booking with Pyramids Power Inn….the view of the pyramids in the morning made my day. We will be going back next year.
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - The appartement is very well placed and the room has space & with the best views of the Pyramids. The landlord was very friendly and welcoming & it is def a place I recommend to stay :)
- Laís (3/5): Bad experience, not recommendable. - The owner "helps" you, but... Everything is about money. First, the owner doesn't give the key of the guesthouse and this means relying on him for everything.
Relying on people in Cairo means paying lots of tips. The owner "helps", but this help means that to do everything you have to pay one of his friends. For example, we booked a tour to Luxor with him and we were forced to go to the station to buy the train tickets, which doesn’t make any sense since we booked the full tour and our presence there was unnecessary. His driver friend requested tips to us (PS: he didn't like what we offered, embarrassing us to pay more). In addition, we wasted more than 2 hours on it and it was extremely stressful (and confusing); As well we asked where we could withdraw money, then he sent a car and we had to pay the driver tips to take us to the ATM, which was very near; Same to buy a SIM card.
The location is terrible, as a woman I felt very unsafe. The street is dangerous and the guesthouse is located in a dirty area, and there is nothing, no bars, no restaurants, no any kind of services. You have to walk around 8 minutes on this street to find something.
Regarding the tour to Luxor, we didn't go given that my boyfriend got sick. We paid 180€ for each person and we got a refund of just 20€ as the owner said it was too late. Since we didn't receive any receipt, we don't know what he really paid to the travel agency. We don’t recommend booking tours with in the guesthouse, everything was confusing. The drivers don’t speak English at all, we went to the white desert (almost 5 hours on the road) with a driver who didn’t speak anything in English.
The breakfast was very basic, dirty environment, no napkins, and yogurt already expired.
As well we booked a room with a view of the pyramids/mountains, but from the window we could see only an abandoned and destroyed place.
We really can't understand how can this place has this high rate. Not recommendable.
- Lars (10/5): Great place. Kind hosts who go out of their way to help. Highly recommended. - Breakfast was always hot and fresh and served with a smile. Zak is an awesome host and set me up with some great tours. The view of the pyramids from the balcony is incredible, especially around sunset time. The wifi was slow. I had better luck with my cell phone hot spot.
- Matteo (10/5): Exceptional - The owner went above and beyond to help us with anything from organising tours to provide us with dinner late in the evening
- Moataz (7/5): Good -
- Albina (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location, just un front of the Giza Pyramids, authentic Cairo surroundings, very helpful and efficient host Zack..We stayed twice there during our trip to Egypt, and that means It has been a great stay to repeat and recommend to Friends and everyone who comes to Cairo. Thanks,Zack! Nothing, everything was great
- Gilman (9/5): Just what we needed - hot shower and comfortable place to sleep with excellent host. - Host was very very helpful. Stored our luggage before our late night flight. Always available. Arranged transport from airport. Hot shower in tub with shower curtain felt great. Shampoo and soap provided. Fantastic location across from pyramids. Camels and horses parked right outside were entertaining. Comfortable bed and pillow. Not much. Toilet was somewhat uncomfortably located near corner of tub.
- Jt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (3/5): location was good, it was cheap, the host was helpful and did his best. - very convenient for the pyramids
the owner was brilliant, very friendly and helpful. false advertising, because although it did have a pyramids view, it was located in a back street, with donkeys opposite and a dump of plastic bags and rubbish on the corner, that was a haven for a pack of wild (but not fierce) dogs.
- Jose (9/5): Superb -
- Mckenna (10/5): Amazing breakfast and priceless view - Literally outside our window we got to see the three pyramids and we got the queen room with the balcony. The room size was huge and we actually had a shower in the bathroom which was our first encounter since we’ve been in Egypt. The breakfast that was prepared was so delicious and you could choose what time you wanted it. Like all places in Giza with a good view you are also subject to hear the cracks of whips and people being loud in the street FYI. But this is the place to stay if you are staying in Giza!! So close to the pyramids so we could easily beat the crowds and we felt super safe. Thank you so much!
- Moneva (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (1/5): Do not book here - The owner tried to scam me! I went to the address given through Booking.com, when I arrived a man denied being Pyramid Power Inn but stated he had rooms available for cash. I told him I wanted to find the room I had already booked, so I left. Standing outside, the outside railing/view of the pyramids looked exactly as pictured in Pyramid Power Inns photos. Friendly locals tried to help with the address and offered to call the Egyptian phone number for me, when they did a man answered and said I was just there and that I had denied the room (he also described me by my hair and backpack). Thinking there was a misunderstanding, I went back to the same place and the man again denied being Pyramid Power Inn but stated that he was Ramosa Inn and showed me a room downstairs that I could pay for in cash. Again, I said I wanted to find the room I already booked and left. I stood in the staircase right outside of his door and called the Pyramid Power Inn number, I heard the phone ringing inside his door but no answer - I called again, again I heard the phone ring, but no answer. I messaged Pyramid Power Inn stating I was unable to locate them and needed assistance (I never heard back from them). All other hotels were booked in the area because it was New Years Eve. Reluctantly, I decided to take the man up on his offer to stay at the Romosa Inn and paid cash. When I entered the room, it was the same layout and very similar to the ones pictured on Booking for Pyramid Power Inn, the wifi network was even "Pyramid Power"! When I asked for the wifi password he said he would give it to me in 3 minutes and left. After 3 minutes I asked a housekeeper for the wifi, she called the man, and gave me the phone - on the other line was his wife who at first said the internet was out and then said her husband was praying and to give him some time and he'd return with the wifi.
- Oleen (2/5): Great to have seen the Pyramid! but i think 1 day stay is enough. - The pyramid is walking distance, you can just pay at the entrance. Save all the hassle of being scammed like we did trusting someone, just because they speak English! It's in a small single dark alley way, use by horse carriages, donkeys and cars about 500 metres from main road. Couldn't find the flat as it has a tall iron gate with no signs. Taxi man gave up looking for the flat. Finally found it, it was 3 storey high in an old building. Not good for older people or families. Couldn't understand the 4 star rating. Had breakfast, egg ,bun and tea on a dusty area. More like a hostel than a hotel.
- Praveen (7/5): Good - Good pyramid views, close to the ticket office and a very spacious and clean room. Breakfast served was a bit stale and there was no lift to the hotel. The location is a bit smelly as there are a lot of horse stables around it.
- Fiddleronthemove (9/5): Superb -
- Josy (8/5): Very good - The view from the bedroom / balcony was amazing. Worth the stay for the sight and view. Too many Camel and horse areound the area. They are fed in the front of the hotel. Slightly inside from the main road.
- Courtney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (5/5): Good location - Location is quite good - very close to the Sphinx entrance of the Giza Pyramids. Zak, the owner, was always available and ready to help and answer any queries. Breakfast was also good. Inn is quite basic, so be prepared for this and bring some of your own stuff like towel and bathing soap. Water in the shower did not run always. Bedsheet was squeezed and did not look very clean.
- Masud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Masud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Javier (6/5): Excellent views - The views. The balcony has wonderful views to the pyramids. The owner was very kind and helpful at all times. The area is very dark. It is very difficult to find the hotel. There isn't any sign or visible house number. Only cash.
- Govind (9/5): Superb - The host was very helpful. He helped us in arranging Pyramid Visit with a reasonable rate.
- Priya (3/5): Poor -
- Marcin (2/5): Better look for other one, not worth the stress and money - Hmm not really. Has a good guide on the tour, but read onder Money, money and money. 5,10,15,50 every time was about it. Don't make a deal with that person.
Smile but behind county money what he can get from you.
Don't believe the photos...
- Fraser (8/5): Very good - We had a brilliant time staying with Zack, he was very attentive and helpful when planning our itinerary. The driver and guide he organised were brilliant and the guide really took the time to teach us about the sights we were seeing.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Cairo is a very busy and hectic place and it was wonderful to return to the inn of a nighttime and relax on the balcony looking at the brilliant view of the pyramids. Big thanks to Zack and his family.
- Daphne (8/5): Incredible host, kind and helpful, with huge room/bed, with great view on the pyramids. - Great location to go see the Giza pyramids from the balcony. It’s a 5-10 minutes walk to one of the entrance of the Giza pyramids site.
The place is clean, room is huge, comfortable bed, hot water in shower, enough water pressure.
Zak is kind, helpful and patient. His family is nice and we felt welcomed in their home.
The wifi was good. While the apartment is well situated for Giza pyramids and the view, it’s on a street where the horse and camel are. You can see the ill treated horses/camels, how they are pushed to exhaustion, with open wounds and being mistreated. It has nothing to do with the hotel, Zak was very sad about this situation. I am just happy to have witnessed this so I could avoid taking a horse/camel ride.
- Muhammad (8/5): Very good -
- Marshall (9/5): Had a great time here. Highly recommend. - Zak the host is awesome. He can get anything done.
- Stefanie (9/5): Superb - the owner is very friendly & helpful. the view is amazing and on the street are camels, horses, kids, cats and dogs. is a little bit like a film set :) the area is very poor & dirty and everybody want to sell you anything to enormous prices. that is kind of stressful and sad.
- Maikel (9/5): Superb - The awesome view from the shared balcony of the pyramids
The friendly, funny, helpful owner
The amazing breakfast with homemade hummus and falafel
Very good service, for example letting us check-in after midnight and letting us choose when to have breakfast Poor/irregular water pressure and temperature of the shower
- Masud (10/5): WOW - The great location and wonderful views of pyramids The hotel owner is very good friendly and help full the hotel area is very clean
- Shelby (10/5): Highly recommend!! Great location and best host! - Zak is amazing !!! The location is walking distance to the pyramids entrance and there are many rooftop restaurants around to enjoy the light show, but also you can see from the balcony here!!! we arrived in the middle of the night and zak came to the street to find us, and then made a delicious breakfast for us only a few hours later when we woke up. So nice!! He even offered us dinner when he saw how tired we were the next day from exploring cairo. Highly recommend staying here if you want peace and familiarity in Cairo.
- Dan (7/5): Pleasant - I had a comfortable stay here for one night. Zack the owner is sweet, and the rooms are basically en-suite bedrooms on the floor of the residential building he and his family live in, I’m guessing they own the whole level. The entrance to the Pyramids is a 5 minute walk away as are lots of tourist shops, cafes and ATMs. The room had a nice big bathroom with a great bathtub, big comfortable double bed, great AC and plenty of storage. I had a great night’s sleep! Zack very sweetly prepared breakfast for me earlier than the usual time (8-10am) as I was up early to see the Pyramids on my last morning in Egypt. They can be seen from the terrace which is great. The breakfast was simple but pleasant - coffee with a couple of bread rolls and jam, hard-boiled egg, yoghurt, cheese and a cereal bar. The WiFi was also very good. I will say I was a little underwhelmed however, I’d expected more of a hotel/hostel vibe but this place is more of a homestay and a very quiet one. I booked in the morning and arrived in the evening, and without the Genius/last minute discount on booking.com it would’ve been very expensive for what it is - even with the discount there were other places in the vicinity that were a bit cheaper and looked the same or nicer. There was no toilet paper in my room - I was given some after I asked of course - or hand soap (there was a bottle but it had been diluted with water and was just the dregs). The terrace was sparse with almost no furniture and there is no place to meet or talk to people from what I could see, aside from a couple of sofas in the corridor. Also the location is very difficult to find - no signage of any kind outside (Zack said one was on order however), so you’re left searching on a street which is basically a large stable area for all the camels and horses used to ferry tourists around the Pyramids site. The entrance is through an unmarked half-hidden gate next to a quad-bike station, and I had to telephone to ask, which if I had a foreign SIM (as many tourists do) would’ve been either impossible or very expensive - luckily I had an Egyptian one. The gate is also very difficult to open, more than once I had to call Zack or bang until a neighbour let me in. The location and gate thing should really be communicated to guests before they arrive to give a smoother experience.
- Elena (10/5): greatest - close to the pyramid can see the light evening show from the balcony
Zack the owner cooked great breakfast
very warm and nice people
- Elena (10/5): great 👍 - were staying with a family
owner is great, accommodating all your requests and help with directions and show us the great perfume shop 3 times cheaper then our guide took us

love the whole experience
- Elena (10/5): Happy with our stay - Zack the owner, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable
Cooked great breakfast 🍳 location is great as you can see the pyramids from the window 👍
