• Femke (7/5): Leuk voor 2 nachten! - Mooie camping met zwembad en wat speel dingen voor de kinderen. Aardige medewerkers! Zwembadje was lekker koel en leuk dat er overal bijzonder vogels waren en een hele apen familie. Er werd goed.met je meegedacht qua oplossingen! Veel te doen in de omgeving! Het ontbijt viel tegen en was erg minimaal. Avondeten was lekker, maar wel iedere avond hetzelfde. We hadden een kakkerlakken familie in het huisje.. wat begon met 1 kakkerlak (wat kan in de natuur) eindigden we met een hele familie in t huisje.
• Verena (9/5): Naturidylle - Wir haben 2 tolle Tage hier verbracht. Adrian, der Eigentümer, ist sehr freundlich und hat uns herzlich empfangen. Der Bungalow war sauber mit bequemen Betten. Die Lage ist absolut ruhig und idyllisch. Unserem Kind haben vorallem die Tiere (Schafe, Ziegen, Hühner, Kühe) und der Pool gefallen. Das Essen war gut und ausreichend.

Only wanted a sot to crash, ended up wishing we had more time - We needed a stopover spot in the area since we were on a birding trip and needed to be in the area for early morning. We were very pleasantly surprised at the location and accommodation. Very comfortable and beautiful surroundings. We only were passing through but we soon realized it provided interesting birding right on the premises. We will definitely keep this little gem in mind on future trips. The staff was very helpful, thank you! Didn't see anything that required improvement. Unfortunately our stay was brief.

• Antonio (10/5): Perfekter Halt - Perfekter Halt auf dem Weg zur Karibik. Die lodge liegt versteckt in einem Bambuswald und man wird am Anfang schon herzlichst Empfangen. Der Besitzer und sein Sohn führen die Unterkunft zusammen. Die Zimmer sind groß und sehr schön eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich sehr willkommen und man sieht wirklich sehr viele Tiere. Wie auf einem Bauernhof. Das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker und man ist nie hungrig. Wenn man gerne Kicker spielt dann kann man auch gegen den Besitzer spielen was wirklich zu einer sehr familiären Atmosphäre führt. Sollte man eine kleine Tour machen wollen um Frösche auf dem Anwesen zu sehen wird wirklich alles versucht um welche zu finden. Es war wirklich mehr als erwartet und wir sind sehr froh gewesen diese Familie kennen zu lernen. -

• Yessenia (9/5): - It was a very beautiful room, extremely comfortable. Huge space.The shower was amazing, with the glass wall. The wildlife is absolutely amazing that surrounds the property. Howler monkeys, birds, frogs, etc. The owner is exceptional and very friendly. He will even help you with resources for slots tours and Tortugero National Park. The breakfast was delicious. All the fresh fruit, the coffee, was a little bit low grade for Costa Rica standards, but overall good, and the staff were excellent! It was a little bit tricky to locate the property, but when you pull up to the property, you will see a wooden gate.Just know that you have arrived at the right spot. I definitely recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle for this region of the county. Lots of potholes.

• Pamela (10/5): Heaven on Earth - Bamboo River Lodge is like heaven on earth. Very peaceful. We loved the grounds, full of beautiful gardens. All the staff was friendly and helpful. They suggested a couple tours and both were wonderful tours. We loved the food and the selection of beer and wine they had for a remote area. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath cool as it was a wall of windows looking out into the jungle.

• Adelina (7/5): Sehr angenehm. - Der Ausblick war toll. Die Umgebung und das Personal auch. Wir hatten eine sehr späte Ankunft, trotzdem hat man auf uns gewartet und uns nett begrüßt. Frühstück war lecker, aber leider ein bisschen zu wenig. Ansonsten war es für eine Nacht sehr gut. Man hat nachts die unterschiedlichen Tiere gehört, ein aussergewöhnliches Erlebnis. Hemos dormido escuchando el sonido de la fauna, y cuando nos despertamos esta mañana había una familia completa de monos aulladores en el jardín. Son muy amables y hospitalarios. Ha sido una experiencia perfecta.
• Selina (9/5): A small hidden tropical paradise - You wake up and all around is alive - you are literally in a tropical paradise. There were monkeys just in front of our room. It is a family that runs this business like a kind of project - they want to give in this place habitat to the animals. All the staff is very friendly and we also really enjoyed the breakfast. We loved everything. There are stains on the wall (we guess from smashed insects) that may could be cleaned or painted over.

Das Zimmer war geräumig mit Blick in den Wald (eine Affenfamilie turnte gerade auf den Bäumen vor unserem Fenster) und super sauber. Ebenso das Bad mit dem großen Fenster. Frühstück wird im Restaurant eingenommen und besteht aus Kaffee oder Tee, Obstteller, Rührei und Toast mit Marmelade. Nach Vorreservierung bekommt man auch ein Abendessen. Der Chef ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und kümmert sich persönlich um jedes Anliegen. kein Internet im Zimmer (nur im Restaurant verfügbar)

Wir mochten die Geräusche der Natur und des Viehzeugs im Gelände. Das Frühstück hat noch Luft nach oben. Zu unserer Freude wurde das Weißbrot nach 2 Tagen durch ein typisches CR Frühstück ersetzt!!!

Great for kids - the little pool and trampoline made a massive difference for my 4 year old! The dinners are really nice and good value. The staff are helpful. Adrian the owner has done his best to preserve the area for wildlife and rescues sloths in trouble, who you may see about. A huge family of howler monkeys visited daily to eat from the trees :) I came without a car and it was hard to get about. Taxis are really expensive and you have to negotiate. Uber doesn't reach there, though there are some buses around. Bring cash and better still book direct ! it was very remote but my bad for not driving !

• Christine (10/5): Perfekt zum Entspannen und Natur genießen - Total idyllisch mit vielen Tieren, wie man sich Ferien auf dem Bauernhof wünscht. Super für Familien. Wir hatten ein sehr großes Familienzimmer mit wunderschönem, modernem Bad und Terrasse zum Bach, beschattet von riesigem Bambus. Der Gastgeber und sein Sohn sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit und haben einen wunderbaren Ort geschaffen. Zum Frühstück gab es unter anderem einen riesigen Obstteller und abends haben wir auch noch ein Essen bekommen. Wir wären gern länger geblieben.

Wir haben jeden Abend in der Lodge selbstgekochtes Essen bekommen. Wir konnten viele Vögel und andere Tier beobachten. Das Wasser in der Dusche war so gut wie kalt. Es gab keine Kaffee- und Teezubereitung, obwohl es so angegeben ist, auch ein kleiner Kühlschrank wäre schön gewesen. Leider können wir die durchweg positiven Bewertungen nicht so ganz bestätigen, sorry!

We added more than a dozen birds to our lifetime list and got to see howler monkeys close up from our patio! It would have been great to have a coffee maker in the room.

Es gab viele Tiere. Eine ganze Affenfamilie. Die kamen aber nicht um was haben zu wollen. Man konnte sie nur nett beobachten. Auch morgens aus dem Bett. Viele Vögel. Agutis und auch Ziegen Hühner und so. Wir bekamen Abendessen zubereitet obwohl wir die einzigen Gäste waren. Es gab gemütliche Hängematten. Einen kleinen Pool. Man konnte sich was zu trinken holen. Es war schwer zu finden.

L’environnement est magnifique, entouré de nature et d’animaux (chèvres, poules, vaches, paresseux), ce qui rend le séjour très dépaysant. La piscine est agréable, le petit déjeuner copieux. La chambre est spacieuse et la douche avec vue sur la nature est un vrai plus. L’emplacement, qui convient surtout pour une nuit. Le Wi-Fi est uniquement disponible dans les espaces communs.

• June (7/5): This is a place that has only been open for a year and has a lot of potential. - Our room was quite large and we slept very well on the king bed. The little porch behind the room was a great place to watch birds. The property owner Adrian fixed dinner both evenings we were there and they were very good, especially the osso buco was outstanding. The animals were fun to see everywhere. There was no sign at the entrance gate. Fortunately our GPS got us to the right place, but the gate was locked and there was no one there at first to let us in. Apparently it was not supposed to be open for guests but they were still coming. We had read the wonderful reviews and were expecting lots of interaction and advice on where to go and what to see and do. Unfortunately the owner speaks very little English and we not enough Spanish. Maybe some maps or pamphlets would help? Our room was very good, but a small table and lamp on both sides of the bed would be helpful. Also we were disappointed that the monkey family didn’t show up for us. But then that’s just nature! We did see a sloth.

Nous avons été prévenu à 15h le journée de notre arrivée que le restaurant n'était pas assuré et que le petit déjeuner n'était qu'à 8h, soit bien trop tardif pour nous. J'avais pourtant choisi ce logement pour son petit déjeuner. On nous a proposé d'être rembourser et de trouver un autre logement, mais bien trop difficile d'être mis devant le fait accompli. Aucun équipement dans la chambre, ni café, ni bouilloire alors que cela aurait dû être prévu. Il n'y a pas non plus de frigo pour conserver notre nourriture alors qu'on a du se débrouiller et il n'y a pas non plus de brosse pour les toilettes qui est portant le strict minimum. Si vous venez avec vos valises, bon courage, impossible de les faire rouler, il faudra les porter jusqu'à votre logement. Même si nous n'étions pas la pour ça, aucune connection wifi Dans Le lodge alors qu'elle est stipulée gratuite sur l'annonce. Chambre très sale, avec des tâches dans les draps, de la poussière en quantité sous les lits et des toiles d'araignées aux murs. Pour l'amabilité lors de notre départ, on repassera. Très cher pour la prestation alors que nous avons trouvé d'autres logements bien mieux équipés et moins cher que celui la. Je me suis vue reprochée la livraison de mon bagage très tôt le matin chez ce monsieur alors que suite à une perte par la société aérienne, c'est eux qui ont décidé de le livrer très tôt sans me consulter. Enfin bref, business is business mais la rien ne justifie un tel prix.

La habitación excelente, y el desconecte y tranquilidad no tienen precio. La ubicación, pero tampoco es tan mala, solo que si está muy aislado, y es importante saberlo. • Martin (10/5): Gastgeber und Preis-Leistung absolut topp. - Wir waren hier für eine Nacht und haben es für die Rückreise gleich noch einmal gebucht. Schönes, weitläufiges Gelände, auf welchem wir viele Tiere gesehen haben, unter anderem Faultier, Leguan, Basilisk und eine grosse Eule. Sehr freundlicher, aufmerksamer Gastgeber, der uns bei beiden Aufenthalten jeweils die Tiere gezeigt hat und ein sehr gutes Abendessen zubereitet hat.

• Daniel (10/5): Adrians little paradise - Adrian is an excellent host who takes great care of his guests. We spent four nights with him, taking advantage of the offer to enjoy not only breakfast but also delicious dinners on site. From here, we went on various excursions around Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui. Adrian took over a former bamboo plantation and created instead a diverse plant life. So he has many animals (besides birds, there are sloths, squirrels, possums and farm animals) in his little paradise, so we didn't need to go on any other animal tours. Adrian likes to share his knowledge on wild live. The bungalows are quite new and contrary to some reviews we had warm water. The accomodation and the meals are definitely affordable. A stop at Adrian's is always worthwhile, not only at a stopover while passing through.

• Michael (9/5): - Sehr schöne, gepflegte Anlage. Wir hatten einen fast nagelneuen Bungalow, der sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet war. Die Zufahrt aufs Gelände erfolgt über einen wunderschönen, glasklaren Bach, gesäumt von sehr großen Bambus. Am Bach gibts nen kleinen Pfad durchs ganze Grundstück. Bei Vater und Sohn steht der Naturschutz im Vordergrund, was auch täglich gelebt wird. Beide erklärten uns die Fauna und Flora und zeigten uns div Tiere, die wir nicht selbst fanden. Als wir ankamen, sahen wir schon ein Faultier im nahegelegenen Baum hängen. Am nächsten Morgen hing ein weiteres im Baum. Je ein 2- u 3 Zehenfaultier laut dem Besitzer. Morgens werden die Vögel gefüttert, die sich sehr gut beobachten lassen. Im Bambus saß ein Leguan. Am letzten Abend zeigte uns Djego ein Faultier, das keinen Meter über uns im Baum hing. Es war schon beeindruckend. Vielen Dank.

• Alexandra (9/5): - La atención de Adrián fue lo mejor de la estancia así como estar en medio de la naturaleza rodeados de animales. Nos preparó un desayuno increíble y se preocupó de que las pocas horas que pasamos pudiésemos apreciar el ecosistema en el que se encuentra el alojamiento. Lo único que no nos gustó fue la limpieza de la cabaña, que es normal que dentro se encuentren algún insecto ya que estás en plena naturaleza pero la limpieza general podría ser mejor. El resto todo perfecto.
• Lina (10/5): Tolles Anwesen mitten in der Natur - Vater und Sohn haben eine wundervolle Oase geschaffen und waren sehr zuvorkommende und aufmerksame Gastgeber. Das Abendessen war sehr lecker und sehr zu empfehlen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Leider waren wir auf Durchreise und konnten nur eine Nacht bleiben. Im Dunklen etwas schwieriger zu finden.

We saw macaws, howler monkeys, toucans and clothes other types of birds, just like that, roaming the property. We also loved the unlimited number of fresh coconut (pipas) We ate at the property three times and we enjoyed the food very much at well. The pool was a highlight with the kids and the adults:) All in all an excellent stay for our family Nothing

• Micha Din (9/5): - Die Bamboo River Lodge wird von Vater und Sohn sehr liebevoll geführt. Die Häuser sind überdurchschnittlich gut ausgestattet. Obwohl wir zu der Zeit die einzigen Gäste waren, wurde uns ein tolles Frühstück und Abendessen zubereitet.

• Hubert (10/5): Liegt wunderschön in der Natur - Vater und Sohn führen die Anlage und haben uns liebevoll Frühstück und Abendessen serviert. Beide waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es fehlen Schilder die zur Anlage führen und ein Hinweis, dass hier nicht nur der Campingplatz ist sondern auch das Hotel.

• anabel (8/5): Bon rapport qualité prix - Le lieu, la piscine et la literie. L'accueil était très bien également. Reculé dans un coin de nature avec des animaux. Nous avions une réservation pour 3 et uniquement 2 serviettes de bain et de piscine. Le petit dej basique, pas le meilleur que nous ayons eu sur des mêmes prestations dans ce pays. Pourquoi ne pas faire un vrai jus de fruit que servir ce jus chimique ?
• Caroline (10/5): Un bungalow confortable au milieu de la nature ! - Très belle escale dans ce havre de paix incroyable. La chambre est extrêmement spacieuse et confortable pour une famille de 4 personnes. Les propriétaires ont été adorables et très flexible sur nos heures d'arrivée et de départ. Merci pour ce bel accueil. Le jardin est incroyable: végétation, animaux.
• Oscar (10/5): If you want to get disconnected from your cellphone, if you want to reconnect with yourself and the nature and local peo - A very quite place, if you like photography, it’s a great location for you to get stunning images, the owner feed the birds with fruits every morning in different places around the property so there are a lot of options for you to connect with the birds and the nature, they have a small river in the property and they treat you as family, in the morning they offer us for free coconut water and the owner gave us some papaya an coconuts for free to take after the visit to the property, as I mentioned, he treated us as family. N/A
• Phoebe (10/5): - The grounds are lovely, you can bird watch directly from the pool. You can tell the hosts love their surroundings. It was a shame the restaurant wasn't open the day we were there.
• Fabienne (10/5): - Es war ein sehr familiärer Umgang. Alle waren sehr hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
• Jennifer (10/5): - This place blew us away! The owner was so incredibly kind and helpful, which only amplified the experience. I can't stress enough the richness of this experience, probably the best taste of Costa Rica on a beautiful small farm, home cooking and private cabins (not the best word as they were VERY nice). The location was so close to a national park too. AND the roads around this place were not holey :)

L environnement est très calme, nous entendons uniquement les bruits de la nature. Le logement à été rénové récemment et est moderne. Petit dejeuner et diner un peu juste. Lieu un peu excentré mais c est ce qui fait son charme.
• Marius (9/5): Very familiar accommodation with the best host - The host is absolutely outstanding. So friendly, tries to support every needs so it feels quite familiar. The comfortable/clean/spatious apartments are on the huge property of the host, where we also saw monkeys directly at our arrival. The location is perfect when traveling from west to east Costa Rica and for day visits to the Braulio Carrillo. The dinner at the accommodation is also delicious! The location feels at first sight a bit in the nowhere. But actually it’s great for day trips and stops when driving from east to west

• Elke (10/5): Wunderschöne Anlage in Hauptstadtnähe - Einen schöneren Abschluss für unsere Costa Rica Reise hätten wir nicht finden können. Die Anlage ist wunderschön - mit vielen Nutztieren und Wildtieren. Vom kleinen Pool aus kann man Vögel und Affen beobachten. Der Gastgeber ist großartig. Er hat sich gekümmert, uns seine Tiere gezeigt und ein köstliches Abendessen zubereitet. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
• Michael (8/5): Un buen alojamiento cerca de Guapiles - Adrián nos hizo sentir muy cómodos, nos ayudo en todo lo que necesitamos durante la estancia. Además nos mostró su espectacular finca! Vimos muchos animales, y mejor que en los parques naturales. Se coló algún que otro insecto en la habitación, pero esto es algo que es inevitable.
• Tanja (10/5): Absolute Empfehlung! - Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abgelegen, der Eigentümer hat hier aber etwas ganz besonderes geschaffen. Ein wunderschönes Gelände mit vielen Möglichkeiten Tiere zu beobachten und modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtete Bungalows. Man merkt dass hier viel Liebe zum Detail drin steckt. Leider waren wir nur auf Durchreise und das Wetter war sehr schlecht. Sonst wären wir gerne ein paar Tage geblieben und hätten den Pool und die Natur genossen. Der Eigentümer war sehr herzlich und hat uns auch noch die Familie von Brüllaffen gezeigt, die auf dem Gelände lebt. Zur Umgebung können wir nicht viel sagen, aber alleine zwei oder drei Tage auf dem Gelände zu entspannen wäre auch schon toll!

• Winne (10/5): - Een hele leuke plek om te verblijven! Wij hebben brulapen (bowler monkeys) van heel dichtbij gezien. Ze leven rondom de boerderij. Verder ook veel vogels gezien. En de dieren op de boerderij zelf natuurlijk! Varken, kippen, papegaai, kalkoen, geit, schaap etc. Erg leuk! We kregen papaya en een kokosnoot van eigen boom. We hebben 1 keer avond gegeten en dat was erg lekker! Een aanrader! We konden niet alle keren avondeten bij de accomodatie, dat is goed om van tevoren even af te stemmen. Douche is koud.
• Annegret (9/5): Ruhige Lodge mit supernetten Inhaber! - Sehr nette Besitzer auf einer großen Lodge (wir waren die einzigsten Gäste und der Besitzer hat extra noch Leute zum Kochen organisiert, damit wir nicht im Dunkeln in die nächste Ortschaft holpern müssen). Es gab sogar eine spontane kostenfreie Nachtführung durchs Gelände. Etwas einsam und ab vom Schuss, aber dafür ruhig gelegen.
• B. (8/5): Buena atención en un entorno natural muy agradable - El entorno y la piscina son muy agradables. La atención del dueño y su hijo. El aire acondicionado no funcionó bien durante la noche y el calor fue extremo. Los colchones demasiado duros y las almohadas incómodas.
• Gaby (10/5): Inmersión en la naturaleza desde la comodidad de un hotel - Uno de los mejores Lodge de toda Costa Rica. El lodge fue construido recientemente, gestionado por una familia encantadora, dentro de la finca de Los Sementales. La ubicación es inmejorable a medio camino de Tortuguero y Limón, siendo la parada perfecta. Las habitaciones muy espaciosas y limpias. Colchones cómodos y baño moderno. Lo que más nos gustó fue la terraza desde donde se pueden escuchar toda clase de ranas, en los bambús que rodean la cabaña. El jardín está muy bien cuidado con toda clase de plantas y frutales, además les ponen diferentes frutas a las aves. Por el día puedes disfrutar de baños en la piscina del jardín, rodeada de completa naturaleza. Por la noche puedes dar una vuelta con linternas por la finca en busca de ranas y con suerte del armadillo. Además vimos ardillas, y nos contaron que los monos aulladores también se ven y están construyendo un corredor verde para que lleguen más fácil. En el precio estaba incluido el desayuno: Gallo pinto con fruta de temporada y un café, todo delicioso y muy sabroso. Estuvimos un par de días y después de haber estado en más alojamientos, puedo decir que fue de mis favoritos. No hubo nada que me disgustara
• Roy (10/5): Oase of rest in the middle of the nature - Beautiful location situated between Tortuguera and la Fortuna. The owners were so friendly and they made a great breakfast and in the evening dinner for us. Great place to relax a couple of days. For the kids they have board games, table tennis, trampoline and animals walking around like goats , sheeps, chickens. Everything was good!
