- Paula (2/5): Decepcion i estafa - Very disappointing experience – not recommended
The apartment is large and the bedroom was clean, but unfortunately the bathroom was not very clean.
The guest house is located right next to the main road, so there is constant noise from motorcycles, day and night. The owner took two days to explain how the shower worked, and the Wi-Fi never worked during our stay.
The worst part was booking the Abu Simbel tour through the guest house. I was charged 35 dolars, and I only found out once I was already on the bus that the entrance ticket to the temple was not included. I was told to wake up at 3:00 a.m., but the bus didn’t actually leave until 5:00 a.m.
Breakfast was very poor: three rubbery pieces of bread with jam (no cutlery) and fruit that was already bad. Other tourists received boiled eggs and juice, while I was only given water.
On the way back, the bus driver didn’t know where to drop me off. Eventually, I was left with another man who took me across the river by boat and then tried to charge me an extra 5 dolars. Everything was very disorganized.
Overall, I felt scammed and very uncomfortable with how the owner handled everything. I do not recommend this guest house.

- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - "I stayed at this guesthouse, and it was a really nice experience. The place was clean and cozy, with a relaxing vibe. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is great, close to everything I needed. Definitely worth staying here if you’re visiting the area!"
- Mohammed (9/5): Authentic Nubian flair, nice and comfortable -
- Raimund (8/5): Very good - Staff was extremely engaged to help us and make our stay as pleasant as possible. The tours organized by the hotel were mostly good and worked out as we expected and that for a good price. The room was clean, we enjoyed the small balcony very much. After a Friday the organized tour with the hotel´s driver to Luxor became "difficult". He arrived 2h late and wanted more money for driving us to Luxor. I really hope for that nice place that they can educate their driver that this is not acceptable and he has to be in time and if the price is accepted by both parties, you do not increase it being two hours late if you realize you asked for too less two days before. The other tours (three) worked out fine, but the last one really pissed us.
- Oleg (8/5): Pretty nice apartment. - A large cozy apartment. For such a price - this is a great option! Not a very comfortable bathroom, old furniture.
- Mojca (7/5): Good - The location Small balcony, no coffee, not enough blankets (was cold)
- Glwadys (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (9/5): a lovely stay in a unique location, made more special by the wonderful hosts. - great location in the Nubian village, wonderful warm and helpful hosts. the shower over the toilet was a bit odd and there were a few plumbing issues but the water was hot and there was nothing that couldn’t be easily worked around.
- Viktor (10/5): I enjoyed staying in the Ghalia guest house! I would recommend to use public ferry to cross the river (cost 5 EGP). - 1) Very friendly staff!
2) All questions answered very quickly via WhatsApp
3) In the Nubian village
4) Big apartment for reasonable price
5) Nice windows view
6) Clean! -
- Wenhong (10/5): charming and peaceful guesthouse by the beautiful Nile river. - The Guesthouse was comfortable and charming with a great location. It's on the west bank of the Nile river which means you need to fetch food by taking the public ferry with the locals. I spent my best 3 days in Egypt staying at Ghalia. mosquito can be a problem so make sure windows are closed.
- Vincent (9/5): Superb - Nice guest house, nice facilities
I recommand :)
- Heyd (8/5): Very local Nubian house experience - Located on the quiet side of Nile.
Close to Tombs of Nobels.
Responsive owner.
Good value for money.
Nice view from the top. Could have been a bit cleaner.
Not well equipped kitchen.
No places to eat nearby.
Quite noisy.
Top floor so a lot of stairs.
