He helped us a lot during our tour downtown Heliopolis. It is a great start when you arrive to Cairo. We felt at home, thank you!
• Florian (1/5): Des plus court… On dirait que c'est à éviter ! - Ce que nous avons aimé… heu… ça va nous revenir… heu… en faite rien !!! Nous avions réservé ce logement non loin de l'aéroport et les photos donnaient envies. L'hôte nous avait demandé notre heure d'arrivée (communiquée) et un message a été envoyé 15 minutes avant, seulement lui n'avait pas vu nos messages. Sur place, nous avons demander aux habitants du quartier où se situait le bâtiment, etc.. Nous montons jusqu'en haut de l'immeuble, arrivons devant une porte menant sur le toit… Nous frappons, rencontrons notre hôte et le soit disant Rooftop ! Celui-ci est une vraie poubelle ! Le salon extérieur est très sale, soit disant la pluie.. il n'a surtout jamais été lavé et les chats (au moins 5) pour certains très sales, ont certainement urinés dessus. On peut trouver du WD-40 sur la table, le jacuzzi des photos est éteint et n'a pas servi depuis un moment… Nous patientons à l'extérieur car le logement n'est pas prêt et les rideaux sont fermés… 15 minutes… on finit par rentrer… cela ressemble vaguement aux photos… le bar n'est plus là et la télé non plus. La partie " cuisine ", un évier sale dont l'hôte venait tout juste de passer un coup de chiffon encore trempé et nous passons l'état du frigo. Pour les cuissons, ça se passe en extérieur sur le Rooftop… sans commentaire…! La suite, une salle de bain, pas très propre et un pommeau de douche cassé qui envoi de l'eau partout… On décide de dire que cela n'est pas possible pour nous, mais avec un hôte dont l'anglais n'a aucun sens. Attention, il nous propose d'annuler gratuitement la réservation et de le payer en espèce le prix total (location + frais booking)… !! L'hôte s'en va, après lui avoir dit non… Nous décidons de profiter du wifi pour réfléchir à la suite. Nous faisons la demande d'annulation gratuite et appelons un taxi afin de nous rendre à notre logement. Entre temps les chats étaient rentrés dans l'appartement (sur le lit, la table,...). Dehors !

• Dowie (10/5): - Rooftop Club is an absolute gem! Only 15 minutes from the airport and set in a peaceful residential area, it feels more like staying in a friend’s apartment than a hotel. It’s not a typical hotel or holiday apartment — more of an Airbnb-style homestay, which is exactly what makes it special. My loft-style room was spacious and comfortable, with a small kitchen area, en-suite bathroom, and a lovely outdoor terrace complete with a hot tub. A perfect space to relax after a busy day in Cairo. Mo, the host, is fantastic. Warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. He prepares breakfast just the way you like it and really makes you feel at home. If you’re looking for a cosy, welcoming, home-from-home experience rather than a commercial hotel, this place is perfect. I absolutely loved my stay — 10/10!
• Hasna (1/5): بيت من القمامه ولا يوجد استقبال او رد والصور والتقيمات المعروضة على بوكينغ مزيفه - ولا شئ أعجبني تجربتي مع هذا المنزل كانت سيئة جدًا وخطرة. تواصلت مع صاحب البيت قبل يومين من الوصول، وأيضًا قبل يوم الوصول بـ 4 ساعات عبر الرسائل في بوكينغ، ولم يتم الرد. حتى قبل وصولي بنصف ساعة، لم أتلق أي رد. عند وصولي، لم يكن هناك أحد لاستقبالي، واتصلت بصاحب البيت أكثر من 20 مرة على الرقم الموجود، وكان خارج التغطية. سألت الجيران والمحلات حول العنوان، وأكدوا أن البيت موجود فعليًا وأن صاحب البيت يسكن فيه ويؤجره، لكن لم يكن موجودًا. عندما صعدت إلى البيت، وجدت الباب الرئيسي على السطح مفتوحًا، وكان المكان عبارة عن مهملات وأوساخ. حاولت التأكد من مواصفات البيت، لكنه لم يكن كما هو معلن، وأصبحت أشعر بالخطر الشديد، فتواصلت مع الشرطة فورًا. اتضح أن الشخص مخادع ونصاب. أنا لا أفهم كيف منصة مثل بوكينغ قبلت هذا العرض، خاصة مع التقييمات المكتوبة سابقًا التي أصبحت مشكوك فيها جدًا بعد تجربتي. أنصح المسافرين بالحذر الشديد وعدم الحجز في هذا المنزل. لو كان هناك إشاره خرا بدل نجوم لأخترت هذه الإشارة للاسف لا توجد. My experience with this house was extremely bad and dangerous. I contacted the host two days before my arrival, and again four hours before arrival through Booking messages, but received no reply. Even half an hour before arriving, there was still no response. When I arrived, there was no one to receive me. I called the host more than 20 times using the number provided, but the phone was out of service. I asked the neighbors and nearby shops about the address, and they confirmed that the house exists and that the owner lives there and rents it out — but he wasn’t around. When I went up to the house, I found the main door on the roof left open, and the place was full of trash and dirt. I tried to check the property details, but it was completely different from what was advertised. I started to feel very unsafe, so I immediately contacted the police. It turned out that the person is a scammer and a fraud. I honestly don’t understand how a platform like Booking could approve this listing, especially with the existing reviews, which now seem highly suspicious after my experience.

Its a place with a lot of potential when more renovated, nice outside area and inside space. We really enjoyed and recommend No cover over the blanket to sleep.

En ningún momento antes de llegar me dijo que no iba a estar disponible, me lo comentó ya estando allá, que tenía un problema y que me iba a dar otra habitación. La habitación en la que dormí era la suya propia donde él vive (se veían sus utensilios de aseo personal, su ropa, sus zapatillas, su colonia…) además la habitación la limpió estando allí yo (tuve que esperar 40-50 minutos para que estuviese lista y lo único que hizo fue rociar perfume por toda la habitación y supongo que recogerla un poco. Dormir sobre sábanas mojadas. No busque otro alojamiento porque era la 1 de la madrugada y a las 5:30 tenía que volver al aeropuerto

Because we had a midnight flight, he went to the airport to meet us and helped us exchange Egyptian currency, so that we could have a good rest without worrying about what time to check out. He also let us have a very local breakfast. Especially his bed was really comfortable! It was really a great stay! He enthusiastically introduced Egypt and communicated with you. I hope everyone must go and stay!

The staff is more than welcoming, we had a great time with them. Cherry on the cake ? A huge balcony, very beautiful as well where we spent the evening with some great food and music. Although the building has no elevator, the host will gladly bring your bags up the stairs. He is a kind person who is available for questions or suggestions. The room is a lived in but comfortable accommodation, with access to a large terrace, kitchen and private bath. There are several friendly cats out on the terrace, but they stay outdoors. For the price, the room was pleasant. The place is not easy to find, so communication before arrival is essential. The scheduled check in time is 3 PM, but accommodation can be made.

• Natalia (1/5): WARNING! DO NOT STAY HERE – FRAUD AND TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE - Our experience at this place was a nightmare. Upon arrival, we realized it was a rooftop with no security. The host tried to make us cancel the reservation and pay him in cash, promising a refund. We explained that we didn’t have cash because we were leaving the country the next day, but he kept insisting. That night, we slept in fear, blocking doors and windows because the place was extremely unsafe. The next morning, we found the exit door locked and a message from the host saying he had canceled the reservation and that we had to pay him in cash. We refused, but he kept us trapped inside until we demanded to be let out. When he finally opened the door, we ran away with our backpacks. He chased us for several blocks, demanding money, until a group of people helped us. In the end, we gave him the only 20 euros we had in cash so he would leave us alone, and we managed to get a ride to the airport. The host is now trying to erase any proof of our stay and has deleted the messages where he demanded cash. Additionally, we later checked the reviews and saw many other similar experiences. Do not make the same mistake—this place is a scam and a serious danger! Booking should remove it from the platform.

We got in quite late after a long day of travel and he cooked us some food before we went to bed. The apartment is nicely decorated with a pretty rooftop/terrace area to chill. Everything was good, it gets a little damp/chilly at night but to be honest that was the same in every place we stayed in Egypt. There is a/c which you can use to warm up, really can’t fault the stay.

If you want a quintessential local Egyptian experience, an evening living as a real Egyptian would live and intelligent conversation with a doting host, (who would do anything to ensure your happiness) then look no further. I am a shy western woman, who was travelling alone, I felt safe at all times with the host. He gave me my personal space when I needed it and was wonderful company during dinner and breakfast. Read the negative reviews on here for a reason... I'm pretty sure the positive ones are bots. Ok so first off, this posting is FALSE ADVERTISING. Everything from the balcony photos to the room, and of course the idea that this is a PRIVATE space....absolutely not. This property is actually the owner's BED in his apartment. He promotes the bed as an entire apartment where you think you'd have a room, kitchen and bathroom to yourself (at the very least). INSTEAD, he offers his bed for you to sleep in, while he sleeps on the couch in the living room. The entire space is filthy and falling apart.....plus, he has 8 cats (wish I was kidding) running around the entire property. Again, keep in mind when I say property, I'm referring to his small studio where he expects you to sleep IN HIS BED, while he hangs out on the couch and uses the only "private bathroom" in the apartment. Still, it gets worse.... When we first arrived to his apartment, wthin minutes of meeting him, he asked us to cancel the booking and pay him the amount listed here in cash instead (a clear SCAM you should never agree to do). When we declined, he became upset but seemed to have understood that we weren't interested in that offer. So we dropped off our bags and proceeded to explore the city. As the day went on, he harassed us with messages asking what we were doing and when we would be back to his place. We would sporadically update him on what sites we'd seen and/or where we had eaten. By the time night came around, we mentioned we were on our way back (because we would need him to open the door since we were never given keys... again, he is just offering his bed, not the apartment). When we mentioned that we were coming back, he seemed annoyed we hadn't told him earlier. We climbed up the 4 floors (no lift) to his place and quickly realized why he was upset.
• Дарья (4/5): unpleasant experience :( - Friendly host. Сonvenient location. Nice view from the balcony. In fact, this is not a separate room, but a room within the premises where the host lives with their family. It wasn't very neat, and the bathroom was shared. We had agreed that we would be met at the airport for a fee, but we had to wait for 25 minutes. The problem was that it was already night, and it was difficult to wait. When we arrived, we had to wait some more until the room was cleaned. We also agreed that breakfast would be at 8 am since we had to leave early, but breakfast wasn't prepared. As a result, we just wanted to spend one night, have breakfast, and leave, but in the end, we didn’t get enough sleep because of the long wait and went hungry.

He made sure I arrived safe from the airport, arranged a car for me the next day, went with me to a market and cooked us an amazing meal. As others have pointed out this is a shared flat, but I had a very comfortable private room and the bed, lighting, everything was great.

The rooftop terrace and view are amazing. Mo offered us a typical egyptian dinner which was delicious. We had a wonderful evening and regret we couldn't stay longer. But even before we arrived, we were very grateful: the taxi we had booked through booking had already left when we got out of the airport and Mo himself came to collect us and bring us to his place. • Chiara_nyc (5/5): Ok stay - the place is close to airport room is comfy and clean as well as bathroom the owner is nice and helpful Please note that this is not a guest house or just an apartment but a room in the owner's flat, shared with the owner (bathroom included). He sleeps in the living room which is not separated from the rest of the house and there's no key on the bedroom door, leading to little privacy. Plus you can smell cigarette smoke and food being made in the kitchen at night. Mo is a perfectly fine person, nice and helpful but unfortunately the whole set up didn't make it feel safe or comfortable for me (please note I didn't say it isn't safe - which I'm sure it is. However as a female solo traveler, landing in the middle of the night in a foreign coutry, this may not feel like the safest/ideal scenario). I wasn't going to leave a review, but the experience with the taxi on my way from the place to the airport was particularly unpleasent. The owner booked a taxi whose driver started shouting at me at some point asking to be paid in cash, stopping on the side of the road. More care has to be taken when providing this kind of services, especially for solo travelers, because this results in a quite unpleasant experience.

• Phillipa (10/5): Master of the human side of the accommodation business-Mo - The host was super cool and super generous. He gives company and guidance as necessary and beyond. My room was outstanding. The place was very clean. Mohammed received with great joy and warmth. In the moment he opened his mouth to welcome home, I felt like a sister who had come home from a long absence. He asked about my needs, my interests, my comfort and apologised if the place was not up to my expectations. When I walked into my room, I was beautifully welcomed by a beautiful floral scent the pervaded the room. I was immediately transported to a place of utter joy. My room before me was a beauty. Artistically and tastefully designed to exude a sense of belonging and ownership, making you feel you are part of this whole place, the apartment inspires a community feeling. The bathroom was generously stocked with all the essentials for a guest's good stay. Nothing was lacking. It was sparkling. Before long, on the balcony, Mo was giving me an informational talk about the location. He made a welcome tea and introduced me to his cats. Later on, watching the sun set from the balcony, I felt completely relaxed, at home - the true feeling of home away from home. Later on, Mo made dinner, to which I could not come on time because I slept, not for twenty minutes, but for two hours. Still Mohammed kept the dinner and waited patiently. When I finally woke up (at midnight), Mo set the table and we had a delicious meal together, amid stories and tips about Cairo, life, experiences, travel, business, friends and relatives, pets and cats, cars and houses. It was just so inspiring to exchange a good conversation. I finally went to sleep (at 04.30!) and time flight had not been noticeable. Waking up at 08.00, Mohammed was ready to make breakfast. The foregoing is simply to give a description of how it was bein at this property-a perfect get away for a perfect price with a perfect host. Mo's is not a business with people, but people with people. Let Mo host you too! If I had stayed longer, I was going to clean his balcony for him. Not because I needed to. But to show him my appreciation of an outstanding hosting.

I was led to believe it was a guesthouse where I could meet other travelers. It says there is a hot tub and a bar! I am very confused how people have not been more honest in the reviews. This is a shared accomodation where the owner rents out his room and he and his wife sleep on the couch. They arrived back in the middle of the night and we could hear them moving around and doing things in the kitchen. There was also a lot of noise from dogs barking nearby.

Mo is a very nice, sweet, kind, respectful and open-minded person. He traveled quite a lot and he really enjoys making his hosts feel like home. He's very talkative and this will help you to have a first glance to the local culture, plus many suggestions about how to explore this incredibly lively city. I especially recommend this place for travelers, probably you will easily make a new friend. The room is very cozy and clean, with air conditioning and a nice smell of incense, and the rooftop is a chill area to enjoy the sky and some fresh air. Don't miss it!

Mo arranged driver to pick us up, who waited at Starbucks outside arrival hall, and had our pictures to make sure that he pick up the right group. This is a shared one bed room apt with host sleeping in the living room. because we were a group of four, Mo arranged the whole place for us to enjoy with a little bit extra. for that, we are very grateful. If you transit through CAI, Mo's place is perfect for a short stay.

We were there for half a day and it was great to be able to find a place with Mo (excellent host) that was clean, comfortable and homely. Mo helped us with the transportation to and from the airport, so we had nothing to worry about. The rooftop was cozy and well protected from the sun, a welcome addition to the establishment. Communication with Mo was easy right from the beginning, and he was always present, helpful and eager to improve the stay of his guests in any ways. I toatally recommend!

Our stay was good; we didn't expect that the host would be sleeping in the shared living room, but since we only spent one night there, it didn't bother us to much. However, after we left the apartment, he called us multiple times and wrote to us almost every day, reminding us to write a good review. Once it was our first night of the trip, we didn't want to spend our time there righting reviews, which made him even more pushy, and made us feel really uncomfortable. We finally wrote the review (we gave him an 8 being extra polite) a few days ago, and he responded VERY angrily, threatening to make my life impossible if I didn't change it to a better one. I'm including hos message below, as well as the initial review I wrote. We contacted the booking service and filed a complaint, but we wanted everyone to be aware of this before making the reservation.

At first, I was a little anxious because I couldn't check in on time, but it was not until I met him that I realized how great this place is. The room is very clean and tidy. It can be seen that he always cares about the guests. We chatted for a pleasant afternoon. It is really a wonderful fate. He is very warm and hospitable. He personally cooked pasta for me in the evening and took me to a nearby breakfast shop to taste local Egyptian breakfast for breakfast. I am very grateful to him. We became good friends. • Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - I had a fantastic and unforgettable stay at Airport Rooftop Club. My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortably furnished. The best was my host, Mo. He took me from the airport at night because my flight was delayed. He even proposed to cook dinner for me at 3am. I declined because I was so tired. The next morning Mo organized / prepared a full Egyptian breakfast for us. I always had the feeling like being home and talking to a person I already know and can completely trust. Even after checking out my host cared about me. Because I went to Fayoum by car rental he was worried about me and asked if I arrived well. I'm coming back of course. But next time I'll be staying for 1 or 2 nights longer. Thank you Mo for this unforgettable experience! There wasn't a single thing I didn't like!
