Guest Reviews
- Julieta (5/5): Loved the location - Location is great and close to everything. The bed frame is broken. Linens does not smell fresh and with some strands of hairs on it. Tried calling the # that says 24/7 and left a message with no response. Finally responded to my email after 3 weeks of being back to TO.
- James (8/5): -
- Sara (1/5): -
- Leonid (8/5): - Great location. Great accommodations. Fair price. Very invasive check in process. We had to provide pictures of each occupant with ID.
- Rosemarie (5/5): Questionable legal rental. - Location Agent we met on arrival was extremely rude.
$500 deposit that takes 2 weeks to be refunded.
- Eveie (1/5): - We waited an hour from the time we sent for check-in for the host to come, homeless sleeping in a slum on the adjacent to the hotel side walk, it was quite scary specially being ‘locked’ out until host arrived. The company didn’t answer our phone calls on purpose. We borrowed the security’s phone and they answered meaning they must of purposefully ignored our number!
Don’t even bother, we went just to go to the Stamps game and have a fun night with friends but this ruined our whole night!
I hesitate we don’t get our security of $500 deposit back as our full experience was just unusual/sketchy from the company.
Also, the photos make it look bigger, it’s quite a small space.
- Frances (10/5): First visit to Calgary was amazing and our Air B&B was perfect - Location, facilities and cleanliness all excellent The only thing that was less than what we expected was the communication between the booking agent and ourselves - we were not advised about how we secured the property on our departure and it took several texts and phone calls to get in to the property in our arrival
- Gill (6/5): Mixed bag: overall ok but watch out for building issues, some communications and surrounding area. - Excellent communication for key pick up and an incredibly prompt, helpful and kind team member who checked us in. Apartment has a lovely balcony, nice seating area indoors, good showers and blackout blinds. The washer dryer was very helpful. The air con worked very well and despite the central location there was very little outside noise. Lovely views too. Close to amenities including a wonderful bakery opposite and a Shopper Drug Mart for essentials. Also very close to 17th SW for bars and restaurants Communication re: inspections, fire alarms and building work. We were subjected to loud building work from our arrival as the lifts were being refurbished, We were informed one morning at 6am there would be a mandatory building inspection that day. I did not agree that this was enough notice and also there was a further lack of communication about whether we needed to be in the apartment which caused some distress. The inspection team actually came a day after as we were due to leave and we were very glad we were checking out that day as it involved fire testing, building structural testing and other things. Whilst I appreciate that all this is beyond the control of the letting agent a simple reassurance that we did not need to be in the apartment for the inspection and an apology for inconvenience would have gone a long way. I received neither.
The sofa has seen better days and it was not comfortable to sit on, I pity anyone who tried to sleep on it. Kitchen is very sparse and there were some very dirty mugs that despite cleaning still couldn't be cleaned. The Beds were quite lumpy and the bedding was very worn. Allegedly our party caused some damage to a duvet which then cost 115 CAD to replace we did receive pictures of this damage but did not recognise the damage . Despite asking several times for a breakdown of the charges levied, these were not forthcoming. The deposit refund arrived minus the charges levied two weeks later.
I've stayed in this area before, but since 2019 it has got less safe and I was not comfortable at night.
- Dan (2/5): Decent apartment, disgraceful management company, would NOT stay again - Apartment was clean with good facilities, nice view. Not too far from downtown. GLOBAL STAY ARE THE WORST! Thy were absolutely terrible and ruined the whole booking and check in process. I was required to send ID 4 times due to their mistakes. I was sent a check in code which they cancelled before I arrived. I then had to wait over an hour in the blazing sun for someone to arrive with a key. They charged a hefty deposit which was approximately double the entire cost of my stay. This was a charge (not a hold) and they advised it would be refunded within 10 days. 2 weeks later and I’m chasing them for my deposit. No apology was given at any point.
- Lynette (9/5): - Roomy, good location, if you are thinking about Calgary stampede, this is the place to stay Check in and identification procedure
- Ramon Nicolas (8/5): - Tolle Aussicht. Gut Ausgestattet.
- Amy-Lee (10/5): -
- Ashley (7/5): Comfortable landing pad. - Very clean, great view and wonderful location. I booked this location so I’d have a comfortable place for work - I’m on the road often and require wifi to be able to do admin work at the beginning and end of my day. Unfortunately the wifi didn’t seem to work - I was connected but it constantly took me to a Telus homepage where all it would do is suggest I sign up for Telus services and wouldn’t take me to any other page.
I ended up having to go to coffee shops (which I’d hoped to avoid) or hot spotting myself.
- Craig (6/5): The website photos and description greatly overstate this room. Very expensive. - Handy to Calgary Stampede The room did not match the website description. The bed was the smallest double we’ve seen. Check in was very disorganized and we had to wait in the heat for someone to turn up.
- Sally (8/5): A good location for our visit to the Stampede - Great location to visit the Stampede The interior was a bit dark and dated. The neighbourhood was a little seedy when walking around at night
- Todd (10/5): It was exactly what I was looking for and more. The views are incredible! - She was on time and very pleasant. Everything was self-explanatory for the most part so the process was swift and seamless. Nothing it was great
- Pipseh (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (7/5): Perfect location for being in the centre and walking distance to the venue I needed to go to. - Location was very downtown and building was pleasant. I was met by a lovely lady who explained everything to me. Apartment was a bit dusty, smelled as if someone had smoked previous in there though policy was no smoking. Shower head didn´t work, only the lower tap. The demand for sending photo´s previously is not okay in my opinion which I contested. Finally they agreed to meet up in person.
- Mark (9/5): Fabulous - Amazing location, great views
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Great base
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marc (9/5): Superb - Beautiful newer place Nothing really...
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, secure parking and very smooth check-in 👌 Happy with everything
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (10/5): Beautiful view of Calgary - Quiet, clean, staff professional, secure. Many levels of qualifying for stay
- C (9/5): Superb - The whole team was helpful and very nice. The condo was comfortable and clean and the views were amazing!
- Chelsea (8/5): Good stay, could be great with some small improvements - great size apartment, good views & good location - 15 minute walk into the City or right opposite C-Train station - checking in process is tedious & having to meet someone at the property for the keys, when there is security on the building and “no loitering” makes things awkward.
- food wrappers/bottles under TV unit not cleaned from previous tenants
- furniture (bar stools) in need of repair
- sink in main bathroom doesn’t drain properly
- TV guide provided but owners no longer subscribe to the app they give instructions for so pointless & no live TV
- Pengzhou (7/5): Good - Good location, good amenities, nice apartment building setup with underground parking Checkin process was quite complicated with a payment form damage deposit. The damage deposit itself is pretty hefty too.
The unit it self shows it’s age so some appliances and walls has dent on them. Sheets still left in the dryer when I arrived.
- Girija (10/5): Exceptional -
- Damarys (8/5): nice apartment, horrific management ! they evaded my privacy by having a real estate showing! - parking , and the apartment was nice, but the management was HORRIFIC and they evaded my privacy! Post asking them to specifically NOT come in! they gave zero notice, called, and I said /asked for them to WAIT a couple of hours! and yet, they came INTO the apartment! while I had my things all inside my privacy was violated. the owner had a REAL State Showing! when I SPECIFICALLY said NO ! because I had left the place/apartment following a series of TWO fire alarms, and my clothes were all over the bed, becuase I was packing for the next day! and so, I asked for them to WAIT for a couple of hours and NO Problem. YET they proceeded to do the showing! with all of my personal items inside the apartment!
- Denise (6/5): Pleasant - The check in was very difficult to have a person meet to gain access to the building. Waited over an hour.
The enormous security deposit is held for 3 weeks which is not satisfactory.
Would not book using this organisation anywhere in the world.
- Amy-lee (9/5): Superb -
- Rahul (9/5): Superb -
- Hami (9/5): Superb -
- Damarys (9/5): Nice place, but owner VIOLATED MY PRIVACY. - easy location to find, and I liked having heated parking. the location was good, place was clean and roomy. Nice views from the building, and it was reasonably quite at this time of year. I had to provide SO Much information, I just wanted to go there, and drop my luggage, I was then asked for additional information, including a personal photo, and my id. I was also asked to give my credit card AGAIN After having done the booking with the same card. Then I had to wait for the person to arrive and let me in, I just needed to change quick and drop bags.
I also asked to use the gym which was empty most of the time, and was told that this was NOT available, only for people who live in the building....
There was another BIG, BIG issue! they were actually SELLING the place, and wanted to show it while I was there, the jperosn that called me was EXTREMELY RUDE, I HAVE a witness who heard the whole conversation. I asked him specifically to WAIT for me to get home, since I had left in a hurry, because that morning there were NOT one, but TWO FIRE ALARMS !! which meant I had to go DOWN the stairs TWICE! 27 FLOORS!
Anyhow , I said I didnt mind if they showed the place, but when I left, I didnt leave the closet tidy, because I was packing my things ! .... all of this, to find the THEY DID COME IN!! when I SPECIFICALLY asked them to wait. This was a DIRECT INVASION OF PRIVACY! THIS IS LITERALLY ILLEGAL! I ASKE for them to wait two hours, as I was on the other side of town.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shannon (9/5): Comfy - Location because we watched the ice hockey. The apartment was great with an electric fire pit and the big windows It was different having to deal with check in details online and you had to book a time to meet someone and they handed the keys over
- Laurel (9/5): Superb -
- Braeden (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Location Accessibility
- Tracey (9/5): It was lovely. - The apartment was very nice There were hairs on the bathroom floor. The kitchen could really do with a few more things. Dishing up spoons. Whisk etc
- Michele (8/5): Very good -
- Amit (9/5): Superb - Location was great The garage sensor for overhead door does not work as I was entering the garage the door slammed onto my truck damaging it.
Might want to look into that
- Micelle (7/5): Spectacular view, cozy apartment. - Very central, a supermarket, bakery and restaurants in close vicinity. Spectacular view of the city and mountains. Great parking facilities. Security staff friendly and helpful.
Global stay staff helpful via emails. Bed was to soft, pillows were cheap, no firmness. Felt disappointed that the dryer still had sheets and a towel from previous guest, and used tissues in the bathroom bin.
- Alexis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Carla (10/5): Fabulous - The apartment was as shown in photos, the view was unreal! Very comfortable and clean, great location. Lots of information needed prior to check in, took a while back and forth with various forms to complete. I left it late, so probably on me, would say start the check process early to check in.
- Armond (2/5): Just find a different place to stay - The location. There is disappointment with this listing at every turn. This building is full service but oddly the service doesn’t extend to you when you book this listing. You don’t have access the onsite gym which is goofy. The carpets are dingy and need to be steam cleaned. The linens are low quality and over used. Lots of things are in need of repair not limited to trim, towel hangers, fixtures. Their policies around identification are over reaching and are invasions of your personal privacy. They have requirements that insist you pay them via multiple payment platforms I.e. once with booking.com, then third parties for deposits. If you have issues with them it’s best to get booking.com to advocate for you because the listing managers are not empowered to find win/win situations. I highly recommend finding a different place for accommodations beyond anything Globalstays is managing, they provided a terrible experience.
- Rhona (8/5): Having the condo downtown, Calgary made our trip as it was so close to everything that we wanted to see and do - The property was great, and the view was spectacular. We all felt very safe and comfortable. There were a lot of stains on the carpets and the owners would be better off to put hardwood floor in the apartment. The appliances were a little beaten up so I made sure to take pictures of everything that could’ve cost me my $500 deposit, on top of the rental cost.
- Maceachern (9/5): Superb - Very clean and lovely place to stay. Checking in and parking was a bit confusing but we figured it out eventually with the provided instructions.
- Mark (10/5): Enjoyable ....good - Good. Security was excellent. Spectacular view! Couxh was uncomfortable....
- Beattie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Loressa (10/5): Exceptional - Location, comfort, view, cleanliness, facilities, communication & friendly staff NA
- Victor (7/5): I chose this location only because it was really close to the Saddledome - it was a bit complicated to get into the building since both access doors required an fob, which we didn't have at the time of arrival. We had to wait until someone was leaving the building, and it feels a little uncomfortable to enter the building that way. After that, it was easy to get the apartment key and fob.
- Ishwarjot (9/5): Superb -
- Jen (1/5): Unfair Damage Charge and Poor Communication - I feel compelled to share my experience regarding a significant issue. Upon arrival, my mother and I discovered that the shower diverter was broken. We reported this issue to GLOBALSTAY immediately, even providing a photo to document the problem. I requested a different unit since the shower was unusable, but I was told that no other units were available and that they could only send assistance after our check-out the following day. Despite our proactive communication and proof that the damage was present upon arrival, GLOBALSTAY withheld nearly our entire security deposit. We also attempted to follow up by phone, but our calls were ignored after our initial report. This experience felt unfair and disappointing, as we did not cause this damage and were left with limited support.
I hope this review helps future guests understand our experience with this property’s management and encourages GLOBALSTAY to review their approach to customer service and damage assessments.
- Juan (1/5): The company that books this condos “GlobalStay” is absolutely awful. 1. They asked us for information outside of the bo -
- Barker (4/5): Disappointing - Check in and getting the check in info is way too complicated. Apartment wasn't cleaned properly
- Julianne (8/5): See above - The space and the view It was a little dirty.
The walls and bed frames were a bit dirty
The exhaust fans were all really dirty
The furnace filter was super dirty too. Glanced at when looking for the Launry facility
The dryer was full, the dishwasher was full with clean dishes so we needed to out them away
The condo was a bit chilly so we turned on the fireplace and it blew a fuse in the extension cord that it was plugged into
The door was not open when we arrived so we needed to send a photo of the door
The door had a realtor lockbox on the door which made it a bit uncomfortable as we didn't know if there may be a showing while we were staying there and we wouldn't be given notice and someone may walk in unannounced.
- Dhillon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sherrie (7/5): The condo is nice, starting to show signs of age in the carpet and paint on the walls. But clean inside and lovely views - Beautiful views and easy access to walk around and get to the heart of the city Difficult to get into in the beginning, no one on the property to assist or answer questions, complicated set of procedures and excessive documentation
- Alisson (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (8/5): Lovely location with great views. A clean apartment. Contacting the hosts could be easier. - The location was excellent. The property had great views over the Stampede ground. Very modern and clean property. Conveniently situated for transport links to visit surroundings. Underground parking was handy. The hosts were constantly emailing requesting different documentation. It would have been easier to know in advance what information was going to be needed as we were travelling and had to keep stopping to arrange for the relevant documents to be sent. It would be more user friendly if there was someone to meet at reception when picking up and dropping off keys rather than relying on email updates when you are travelling.
- Lulla (7/5): I would not recommend - The lengthy and complicated check in process. The representative that spoke little to no English and bad attitude. Total of 10 emails back and forth before I was able to access the suite.
- Cailie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucky (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - Nice location. Close to grocery store and other amenities. Had underground packing.
- Abi (7/5): Good -
- Adam (10/5): Globalstays Alura apartments - Great location for downtown calgary and the stampede/bmo area, perfect walking distance to food and shopping places.
Cracking views east from the 19th floor.
- Janice (6/5): Pleasant - The accommodation was comfortable and clean The process to book was challenging, the need to print out and fill in and sign registration form. Still having to answer further questions all ready provided on the form before check in procedure was provide. Checking in was difficult. Having to pay an additional $500 deposit in case of damages. $80 cleaning fee on top of one nights accommodation fee.
- Moisés (4/5): Disappointed - Location Cleaning was poor. Couldn´t use the washing machine, was broken leaking water. The fridge leaked water. The sofa and bed were broken. All these issues were communicated to the property management and didn´t fix it neither provided an alternative.
- Saurabh (6/5): Pleasant -
- Siwei (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): We loved the location and the customer service was prompt - We loved it!
- Minerva (10/5): Everything is perfect - The location is perfect and very convenient.

- Avery (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erini (8/5): Very good -
- John (3/5): Poor -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - A little complicated with the check-in procedure and quite a few rules and regulations but won't be a problem for the majority
- Harshadrai (6/5): VERY POOR COMMUNICATIONS FROM GLOBALSTAY AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND OR USE AGAIN - The actual apartment was good location and spacious It didn’t appear it had been properly cleaned
The communications with GLOBALSTAY is shocking and the worst that we have ever experienced. For this reason alone I would avoid at all costs and will not recommend
All very last minute, a stack of things to do etc etc
If it wasn’t for the very helpful security guy (Waseem) - we would still be trying to get in. thank you Waseem for the help you gave - It’s a shame the representatives of GLOBALSTAY IS such a big let down
- Carlos (8/5): Everything was fine except the booking process which has many requirements. I would have booked a hotel if I had known - The property was fine. Well located, comfortable and clean. I did not like all the booking process. It was the most cumbersome I have encountered for a one night stay. I probably would understand it if it was for a longer term rental.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Therese (1/5): Bad - The location was good If you like stains, no hot water and terrible customer service in a good location then go ahead.
The property was not particularly clean. It has been decorated well and looks good in pictures but there were so many stains everywhere from the carpet to the bed.
There was no hot water. We contacted the support and they claimed it was due to Calgary's water restrictions. Unless Calgary is unique in pumping hot water through their water mains this makes zero sense.
We read the Calgary website, asked around and checked news blogs & socials. There was no mention of their being no hot water as part of this. Also there was hot water in other places we went!
Maybe there was something specific in place for this building but who knows because support was useless. They just kept sending us the water restrictions pages (which mentioned NOTHING about temperature). We tried to call, no answer. We asked them to call us, they ignored it.
As others mentioned getting inside was a bad process and the deposit they take via PayPal and not Booking was also strange.
Would not recommend.
- Susan (10/5): calgary apartment - beautiful apartment amazing view well equipped everything was great 👍 👌
- Donova (5/5): Booked for the pourpose of a relaxing stay/spa with friends. It was more work than planed and embarrassing. - Proximity to destination of intrest. Not clean/ smell of freshly cooked grease. No dishes/utensils/lights burnt out/furnace filtered plugged solid/ no soap and no despensers. Carpets need a good clean aswell.
- Kimberly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (1/5): To avoid - To avoid absolutely. Sadly I didn’t read the comments before to book ..
The process to access the apartment is a nightmare. You must pay a deposit only by PayPal, send pictures, answer questions, sign forms, etc. Each step must be complete one after the other (you are not allowed to answer the questions and sign the form at the same time for.. absolutely no reason). If you don’t have days and internet : you will have pay but you will not access the apartment. What is asked is totally irrelevant.
Moreover you will have to pay an excessively high amount as deposit and you will have the surprise to pay a fee in order to ensure that deposit (fee never refunded of course). That was never announced and in any way unacceptable.
If you complain because the way they act is not correct nor contractually/legally acceptable you’ll end up with no more answer. A scam, as many other said.
- Bonny-lynn (8/5): It was great. I was very pleased. - Very convenient
- Ruben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kiera (2/5): Bad service - The location was handy for a concert One of the showers was about to fall off, there is a $500 deposit for a 2 night stay in which they forgot to give back so we waited nearly a month for this back. The check in took 30minutes as no one was answering phone.
- Aleksei (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Amy (6/5): Very good value for amenity and location. Opportunities for improvement with providing second set of keys, easier check - Great view, location, security, clean, comfortable, bathroom for each bedroom, free secure parking Patio door tough to close (post directions), only one set of keys available unless you pay extra $50, limited mugs/plates /knives, no bottles opener, no recycling (across street - but no info about that option provided). Getting in first time a bit of a hassle if exterior doors locked.
