Guest Reviews
- Melissa (1/5): Dirty - Black mould in bathrooms, house was not clean it was so dirty you could stick things to the walls and cupboards.
The ovens front glass had broken and the glass was still sitting on the bench.
Lawns were long
Rubbish in backyard and bins still had rubbish in them.
Made complaint and asked for refund which took 4 days for this to happen
Urine stain or similar on blanket
- Blake (2/5): -
- Muhammad (7/5): - It was big and spacious Access was not easy and they were asking for license at the last moment though they should get the details from booking.com
There was bit of smell in the kitchen. Also I am struggling getting the invoice and engaged booking.com instead getting directly from the property person.
- Kobie Francis-Welman (6/5): -
- Phuong (10/5): - the house is spacious, enough for a big family. My kid found a place for them. there are some book and tour for kids. there is enough room for my wife's Yoga
- Linda (2/5): Very disappointed in cleanliness of accommodation. I felt embarrassed my clients had to pay for this - Big size space, comfortable beds, wifi access, location close to shops. Dust on all skirting boards, light in front room flickering so had to keep light off as we had a group of participants with disabilities. This was a real hazzard.
Accommodation advertised can accommodate up to 14 people, we were 8 and didn’t have enough cutlery for meals. We had 4 spoons, 4 forks and heaps of knives & chopsticks. Had to go and buy cutlery.
Pantry door off its hinges, dirty pans for cooking, fly screens holes in them. Mood in and around showers. No plug for bath. Dirty tea towels hanging over cupboards on arrival.
- Adukkadan (3/5): -
- Diandra (10/5): -
- Ngoc (8/5): Rosie’s place was a pleasure to stay in. Had plenty of room for our group and plenty of parking. - Close to shops and public transport. Plenty of on street parking. Check in was a breeze and host was very communicative. Having portable heaters in each room was a nice touch since it was so cold during our stay. Could have done with soaps and shampoo in the bathrooms. We were only provided with hand soap.
- Paulina (3/5): None of us were happy. - Good location The photos are not updated on the page, the house is not in good condition with dust and dirt in some places, the refrigerator has a bad smell, the energy on the second floor is not enough since when connecting the cell phones the power switch immediately turns off, there is no toilet paper in the bathrooms and what to say about the dirty and weathered showers, beds with holes in the mattresses, none of us were happy.
- Daniel (10/5): - Space, comfort and convenience 100%
- Sione (8/5): Clean - Nice house Everything
- Coburn (7/5): comfortable - the beds were comfotable , great location not very clean at all , alot of things need to be fixed in the house
- Linda (4/5): The location was excellent and the host was very nice but the property was below expection when we arrived, needs a good - The location was good and convenient to get to places The cleanliness wasn’t up to standard
- Leticia (5/5): Not what we expected and could have been a lot better. - As much as we loved the house, the beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were very uncomfortable and too thin. The house wasn’t real clean either, a lot of marks on walls and back yard wasn’t very clean either with having a long patch of grass and a beer bottle which I cleaned up from out of the pond. The remotes to both the aircons & tv remote weren’t working and had to get battery’s for the aircon remotes but tv remote didn’t work at all. One of the showers have mold growing in the creases aswell.
- Ilse (1/5): You get what you pay for, drop the price by 80% - Location Lots of maintenance needed. This place needs a professional clean. Beds were hard and not comfortable. Tv kept cutting out, we had to buy an antenna just to watch it. Unfortunately everything was booked out, bad timing.
- William (6/5): Like staying in an antique house - The house was big with many large beds. The kitchen was large as well. Antique style was appealing. The advertised bunk bed wasn't there, and there was no tumble dryer. The toilet in one of the rooms was noisy from internal leak and falling apart. There was moldy bread in the pantry. Clearly minimal attention given between stays.
- Charunie (3/5): Experience was far below acceptable standards - Location was the only highlight - good neighbourhood. Avoid this property! The cleanliness was unacceptable—our socks turned black from the floors, and the backyard lounge was broken. The ensuite shower leaked into the kitchen, rendering it unusable, and the ensuite toilet didn’t refill. Another toilet had a missing handle. The so-called "5-bedroom" house included a converted garage with poor ventilation, no AC, and sagging sofa beds, forcing people to sleep in the living room. The front security door didn’t lock, and 9 people had to share 2 bathrooms. The owner was notified but did nothing and provided a poor response. This place is not fit for guests—stay elsewhere!
- Joseph (5/5): Passable -
- Ben (5/5): Passable - Location to where we needed to be. Toilet in ensuite didn't work.
Cobwebs in lounge area.
Remoes not working etc.
- Zida (6/5): Pleasant -
- Leigh (5/5): Served our purposes but will read the reviews before booking next time. - The Rosie is house is spacious with the many bedrooms required of our large group. It was close to grocery store (Aldi!) and trams. Host was responsive and helpful when contacted. The condition of the house was perplexing. We were concerned at the lack of cleanliness of the house (dust, hair, etc) and the unkempt nature of both inside and out. Outside area was in a poor state - empty fish pond & old mattress in back yard, weeds, letterbox overflowing with mail.
It was particularly strange that the photos taken by a guest who stayed at this property 12 months previous were identical to what we saw when we stayed - which gave us the impression that there really wasn't much "care" about the state of the house. Some of the maintenance issues included:
– A large hole in a wall where there was a vent that was broken
– Door knob missing on upstairs toilet door (don't worry newspaper on the inside for privacy).
– Black tape over some light switches
– Mouldy shower cubicles
– One of the fold out couches was broken
– Also the down stairs toilet door was broken (a child got stuck in there)
- Angie (8/5): Very good -
- Kylie (1/5): dirty and not impressed. false advertising on booking .com - nothing. the place was a mess there was no where enough cooking utensils, pots pans. we had to get take away every night. the house was extremely dirty, moldy and there was no bath plug. I told the host that one adult had to sit over the plug to bath the kids, and the host replied "that's a good idea!" bloody appalling. the dish sponges where old and smelly, no where near enough towels. I would not recommend anyone with kids to stay, the backyard was dangerous and even had a mattress out the back on the ground! Lookes like a squatters house. half the lights didn't even work!
- Pui (7/5): Average - Spacious The garage bedroom is too cold.
- Santosh (7/5): Good -
- Ramiah (7/5): Good -
- Pavan (9/5): Good - Space But more comfortable mattress downstairs would be helpful.
- Phung (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hernie__ (8/5): Very good -
- Li (3/5): Furniture - Old and broken furniture including leaking faucets, broken chairs and cupboards, sunken in couch beds and more. Generally unclean conditions as well.
- Alexander (8/5): Very good -
- Suman (9/5): Superb -
- Wenxin (7/5): Good - Can try to book this if you want to have a deeper local trip. Enough space and rooms for my family. Not really clean the entire house, can see dusty one the bedsheet and floor. Bathroom’s water tape a bit loose and old, difficult to close, old style. But overall it is quick convenient because ALDI is nearby.
- Payne (1/5): Absolute rip off! Broken, ran down and dangerous. - Nothing. The place is horrendous. We walked in the door and once we took a tour and realised how horrible and dangerous the house was we walked straight back out. Where do I start? After driving 4 hours with two of my clients with disabilities we arrived at Rosies residence. Once there we opened the door and had a look around. It was really evident that her property was not up to scratch with alot of damages including broken handles, vents, heating not working, broken tiles etc. My client almost cut his foot open on a bathroom tile that had lifted up. This was it for me. I called Rosie and asked for a refund whilst we found and paid for other accommodation. Rosie agreed to a refund but shortly after decided that there would be not refund. I was absolutely livid! The state of the house was disgusting, trash in cupboards, heater pumps attached to the curtain window to hold up, trash outside that needed to be taken to the tip, overgrown lawns. This house was absolutely horrendous especially for the price paid. Still awaiting for a refund!!!! My suggestion is to NOT stay here. I had to fork out another $1,200 and we ended up staying in a clean, beautiful penthouse in on spencer street instead. I'm now out of pocket over $2,300 in accommodation for 2 days!! I cant add all of the photos but i guess ill email booking.com and give them all of them for a refund!
- Bryce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adisak (8/5): Very good -
- Anne (3/5): Poor -
- Bruce (8/5): Very good - Water hammer in main ensuite hand basin made it tricky.
More glasses for drinks needed.
- Armstrong (8/5): Very good - The location is good close to the city centre. The house was too cold, the heaters took for long to heat up, and you need to fix the heater on the walls and fix the cupboards. Apart from that nice location, I can't wait to come back in the future.
- Bhusal (8/5): Overall, Stay was good with a great and clean place. - Location was very much easy and convenient for public transport and shops. Overall, the property was good but owner was very hard to get in touch with on the booking day.
- Ashish (1/5): Disgusting - Location only House was freezing, beds were extremely uncomfortable, no proper bedding, roofs were leaking
- Bryce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vu (8/5): Very good - Location Bathroom and toilet condition
- Shannon (8/5): Great Value! - Great area, owners were very helpful No ducted heating
- Ella (9/5): we enjoyed our stay - very spacious and comfortable and Rosie is very accommodating and helpful the house is old so some of the lights and door knobs aren’t working well as well as the heating downstairs.
- Edomias (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (8/5): AMAZING communication and spacious house in convenient location. - The amount of space and seating. Had a group of couples stay and there was plenty of space and affordable for all Would have loved some coffee/tea, or long life milk. I should have thought to check and could have brought our own for the morning. Bit hot in the bedroom at night and couldnt open windows as no screen on windows.
- Tutu (10/5): Exceptional - Home was so comfortable and welcoming
Highly recommended Loved everything
- Jenny (10/5): Very enjoyable, thanks Rosie - Was exactly what we needed.
- Adam (4/5): terribly disappointing - the location was fit for our stay the idea of a luxury home was great but upon arrival was NOT very luxury at all !
very disappointing to say the least .
luxury= is 4-5stars I would rate this property 2 at best .
the showers/toilets are terribly filthy. and need very good clean.
the triple bunk seemed to of been not made from previous guest . the upper bathroom door lock is not function and has my wife locked in there for 25 mins having a panic attack
this house was far from expectations and should not be on booking.com
it need to be on another platform
I could go on for a while with items that need attention
- Maggie (9/5): The house was big enough for my family and close to all the main shops. - The location was close to everything we needed
