- Philipp (10/5): - Hostal inside the Tayrona NP with amazing views into nature, good dinner and traditional built houses.

- Topher (10/5): Beautifully crafted jungle oasis with kind helpful family! - This place is magical! Gorgeous little cabin as with lots of thoughtful accents and style. It felt like staying in a jungle-hobbit hut. Super quiet and private, tucked into the trees with loads of birds and cotton-top tamarin monkeys. The family who runs the place is super kind, extremely helpful, and very proactively communicative. We felt like part of the family! Beatrix, Andrea, and Isabella made delicious meals and were able to creatively accommodate our diet (vegetarian and dairy-free). Rambo was also super helpful and showed us the best spots to snorkel and watch sunsets in the park- he even lent us snorkel goggles. We loved everything about this place but if you’re not looking for a rustic, hike-in, nature-rich experience, this might not be the spot for you

- Jasper (10/5): Lovely family stay immersed in nature - I definitely recommend staying here! The owners are a lovely family who will make your stay perfect. The daughter kindly showed myself and other guests around the property to their mirador and then to Tayrona National Park. She used to work as a park ranger so has so much knowledge. We saw howler monkeys and many other wild life.
The family were also patient as I have very limited Spanish. We communicated using Google Translate and WhatsApp. It felt easy to do this - unlike other people who get frustrated.
The food is fantastic! Dinner was 50,000 COP and was a huge serving of delicious food. The fresh fruit juices and breakfast was also great.
The room is beautifully constructed by the brothers and makes the stay very unique. In the room you have multiple windows out into the forest from which you can hear howler monkeys in the night. I had no issues at all with mosquitos or bugs anywhere on the property.
The location as other reviews mention is a walk from the main road. If needed there is a motorbike the family can call to pick you up and bring you closer.
I recommend this stay to anyone who wants to stay with a lovely family and feel immersed in nature. I have no issues at all 😁 Everything was great!
- Rodrigo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (10/5): Wholesome and relaxing - Some really great people hosted and were super welcoming. It was one of the most wholesome experiences I’ve had, but at this moment there was only 1 other cabin and I was looking for other people to connect with.
- Benedikt (10/5): Really nice basic huts inside Tayrona! - Really beautiful small Kogui huts inside Tayrona park. Great Spot if you want to explore Tayrona for more than a day-trip. Approx. 50 mins from the main entrance if you Walk all the way and carry larger backpacks (25 min main road + 25 min dirt road and stairs!!)
The houses themselves are pretty small but have everything you need for a few nights. The team is really nice, can tell you something about the park and offer dinner with vegetarian options.
The huts only have cold water for showers and the main House was one of the few points with cell reception for me, which is really helpful!
Approx 50 mins from the hotel to the nearest beach (la piscinita) with the busses and to short walks! Nothing mayor:
It’s just really an exhausting hike with larger backpacks from the main entrance due to the stairs. So the 5kCOP for a bus until the dirt road are well invested.
Also the team was a little unorganized concerning the breakfast/dinner. Nothing bad, just plan in some Waiting time for dinner/breakfast! :)
- Bavo (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful paradise. Wonderful people, wonderful stay in the most beautiful location. Rambo put his heart and soul in this magnificent creation.
Very easy to get there, you can't miss, just follow the signs along the way. Best to be done with backpack, not with ordinary suitcases.
You will love this place within the national park of Tayrona.
Make sure to ask to climb to the lookout.
Thank you for having me 🙏
- Bex (9/5): Beautifully crafted huts in a peaceful jungle hideout. - A beautiful place, built using traditional techniques by the brothers who own it. We were offered breakfast (25k COP each) and dinner (40k COP each) which were both very tasty and included fresh juice.
A good place to be if you want to escape the crowds of Cabo San Juan and have a peaceful spot in the jungle to come back to. There are so many butterflies and the sunrises are unreal! As a heads up, the accommodation is a little walk up a trail from the main road inside the park, so each morning / evening if you wish to visit the beaches you will have to walk a little extra and take a shuttle (5k COP each) down the road (the last shuttle back to the accommodation leaves the beaches at 6pm). We personally thougt this was well worth it to escape the crowds and because most of the tent / hammock accommodation at the beaches looked very hot and a bit grim.
We also had quite a few insects joining us in our hut at night but in the jungle I guess this is hard to avoid!
- Anna (10/5): That is really great peaceful place to connect with nature you feel as at home. Extremely nice host. - Sometimes you come to a place and you feel connection right away. Right from the long stair walk and a wooden bridge you realize that this people love their place and the nature around it. They really put their hearts in what they are doing. The place is lost in the mountain. For me was very impacting that the houses to sleep are built by 3 brothers with their own hands using nature friendly technology meaning no trees cutted only fallen woods and vines, they conserved true Cogui architecture that makes your stay really magical. Houses are comfortable with private bathroom each. Surprisingly No mosquitos in the room. Wild animals are your neighbors sometimes they show up, we managed to see fox, sloth, monkeys and we hear the roar from the jungle from time to time=). My family felt very welcomed here (my mother and 2 children). We ended up staying for 4 days and children had lots of fun exploring the nature and learning about Tayronas culture and see real artifacts the owners keep. The food is freshly cooked very tasty ... papaya right from the tree absolutely organic, water from the mountain stream that is portable. You feel very peaceful in this place. This is the perfect place to connect with the nature and enjoy the Tayrona park long walks. Location is close to the park ticket office. Down the mountain you have a small bus 5000COP that brings you to the walking tracks entrance ("Parqueadero" for vans and horses=) and a wild beach that is relatively in a short walking distance, very beautiful. We are happy we met this nice hosts who managed to pass us a spirit of their land and Tayrona culture. For us it was a great experience! You want to come back to this place very soon=))
- Dennis (10/5): Adventure in the selva - if you want to stay in a secluded area surrounded by nature, entertained by wildlife and led on exhilarating walks/hikes this is the place. With macaws flying over head, howler monkeys calling in the morning, capuchin monkeys flying through the trees and a sleeping sloth over the path await you but you have to earn it! A not to be missed highlight is the early morning hike to the Mirador- it's stunning! The trail to get here can be demanding but Sebastian or Jose will help you and it will be worth your effort. The owners Sebastian and Jose work hard everyday to maintain this hostal. They offer numerous activities including guided hikes to the Mirador, beaches and remote locales. Sometimes the sales pitch can be a bit tiring similar to the touts on the beaches. It's understandable as the offerings are "value added" and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. But know there will be additional activities to manage during your stay.
- Zsófia (9/5): Superb - It’s a super unique and authentic place inside Tayrona park with 3 very kind men who are doing everything to make the experience unforgettable.
They have arranged everything by hand according to the indigenous Kogui traditions and you are truly in nature, with an amazing view over the sea, surrounded by birds, beautiful butterflies, moneys and other small animals. The guys are preparing food every night and they tell a lot about nature, Tayrona and the indigenous culture. They make most of the food with their own ingredients grown in their little garden. They are super nice and helpful. Totally recommended! We really enjoyed this type of experience but you need to be aware that the place offers basic comfort due to its style- you sleep in a hut without doors, and there is only one hut with own bathroom. It didn’t bother us at all, as we came for the experience. Another thing to be aware of: it is quite a hike from the place “Amanecer” where the bus leaves you, and the end of it is a super steep staircase, so it’s really unpleasant with a big bag. But beautiful scenery.
- Robbe (10/5): Absolutely amazing - Sometimes you visit places you will never believe that they exist. This is by far one of the most beautiful places you will ever visit, with the friendliest people in the world. Three brothers lived with the indigenous people, the Kongui, for six months and then spent two years building detailed copies of the indigenous huts in a beautiful spot in the Colombian jungle. The view is amazing and,, Rambo, one of the two brothers, will happily take you to the top of a mountain at six in the morning, where you can see the sun rise and the jungle awake. The birds fly and the monkeys swing around your ears, while the howler monkeys are also happy to let you know that they are present. After the beautiful, but tough morning walk, Sebastian has prepared a delicious and hearty breakfast for you. The accommodation has just opened, two months before our visit, and is actually not completely finished yet. Hut three and four are still under construction. That is why there are very few reviews yet. Normally, you can not eat there yet, but we asked about the possibility and Sebastian went shopping especially for us so that we could also provide a meal in the evening, for about ten dollars per person, including home-made tamarind juice and an abundance of natural tea. We could use Sebatians binoculars during our walks in Tayrona National Park, and his snorkeling equipment die free and learned a lot about the Kongui culture. Horseback riding and even a visit to an indigenous people are also possible. Unfortunately we didn't have time for this anymore. However, we will definitely come back, because these people are amazing and the place is wonderful. Nothing, nothing, nothing..
Everything is amazing about this place..
