- Melvyn (9/5): Comfortable well appointed facilities situated in spectacular gardens with abundant wildlife. - Friendly, helpful professional staff. Large comfortable rooms well appointed. Spectacular grounds with wildlife. N/A

- Stuart (9/5): Very pleasant stay in San Jose - wonderful gardens - Good room for one night (or more if you're staying in the area); great gardens for the birds; very decent breakfast; good car parking; very pleasant staff nothing really
- Georgina (10/5): -
- Paul (8/5): -
- Bradley (10/5): Great stop over in San José, comfortable with great gardens - Large rooms, clean, comfy beds, excellent shower. Staff friendly, restaurant was great. Gardens exquisite, plenty of nice birds and flowers. A great one night stop after landing in San José Nothing
- Jan (6/5): Zbyt duża cena do jakości - Ogród przy hotelu Bardzo słaby internet , brak lodówki. Brak warzyw na śniadaniu.
- Montoya (7/5): -

- FRANCISCO (7/5): - El personal Mucho ruido externo
- Anne (10/5): Bliss - Amazing garden with beautiful plants and birdlife. Cozy hotel with seating areas, bar and a restaurant with gorgeous window views of the garden. Do not listen if the staff say twice that you don’t need to book a table for dinner. Three large groups meant that we had to eat in the bar. We found out when we walked in for our meal. They assured me it was a rare event, and the bar was cozy, but I was very disappointed as we were returning (having first met at the hotel in 2019) excited to have an evening meal there.
- Chris (9/5): Hotel ground excellent grate for birds butterfly and flowers - Breakfast good location ok
- Simon (10/5): - Beautiful gardens excellent food Bed was a little small
- Jane (10/5): Always wonderful - Beautiful garden setting, excellent food, spacious rooms, friendly helpful staff
- Zsofia (10/5): - Garten + Frühstücksbuffet Nichts
- Caroline (10/5): overnight stay after arriving from UK in this beautiful peaceful location - beautiful garden and position overlooking San Jose nothing

- John (10/5): We had a great stay in a comfortable, clean place. - It was a spacious grand hotel with a great, large beautiful garden. It is an older property that could stand a bit of updating but it is well maintained.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Great birding hotel with the garden. Restaurant was good. Room was nice.
- Nancy (10/5): -
- Adrianus (9/5): Wonderful one night stay - Breakfast was wonderful, but the best part is the huge garden around the property with lots of cool birds. Very friendly staff.
- Paul (7/5): Beautiful gardens good for 1/2 nights. - 30 mins drive from the airport overlooking San Jose. Beautiful botanical gardens. Good size rooms with 2 beds.
Rooms overlooking the garden are best.
Good place to stay on arrival before moving on.

- Thea Beckman (9/5): The perfect way to kick off our stay in Costa Rica! - The hotel itself is beautifully appointed: lovely decor and furniture. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with huge balconies overlooking the sprawling, colorful gardens. The garden itself is by far the hotel's biggest highlight with its enormous diversity of plant species and birdlife. We were in Costa Rica on a birding trip and I managed to rack up 50 species of birds here in three days. The buffet breakfasts were fantastic - great variety. I found the coffee somewhat weak and insipid. But this is literally my only gripe, so you know I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. The hotel is otherwise fabulous.
- Chris (10/5): Excellent - Close proximity to airport. Lovely gardens with beautiful birds, butterflies and flowers
- Melania (10/5): -
Niks
- Renuka (8/5): Good hotel, great garden, convenient location - As birders the garden was the main attraction for us The a/c in the room was difficult to work out
- Jose (9/5): Wonderful Wedding Night - Breakfast was nice! Not a huge buffet but the food was fresh and tasty. Nice coffee as any Costarican place really. Friendly staff even at late night. Nothing really. I had a wonderful time.
- Marcel (9/5): Gutes Preis / Leistungsverhältnis - Wunderbarer Garten

- Maynord (9/5): Great place to take some fresh air in the middle of the metropolitan area! - The gardens at Hotel Bougainvillea were breathtaking. The place is wheelchair accessible. Breakfast was delicious, especially the typical Costa Rican options. The staff members were incredibly kind and helpful. We had a special request for an elderly family member, and the hotel provided a bath chair for us. I want to give a special thanks to Andres, Susan, Ana, Leonard, and Sebastian and all the staff for making us feel so welcome. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santo Domingo de Heredia or nearby areas in San Jose. Reception can organize paid transport to the airport. Allow 45-60 minutes for the trip to SJO due to traffic. I have no complaints; our stay was great!
- Ana Patricia (2/5): - It served the purpose They didn’t have and didn’t give us what was reserved and paid in booking. They weren’t helpful and blaming booking for everything that was wrong
- Timothy (9/5): -
- Donald (10/5): Comfortable and modern hotel in a lovely garden . - The hotel is set in a beautiful garden. The restaurant and lobby display interestin paintings and there is a collection of geodes too. The dining room was lively with linen tablecloths and a well trained staff. All was great.
- Tomislav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kwanli (9/5): The botanical garden was an amazing space to walk around, very relaxing place to be in awe of. -
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Pankaj (8/5): Very good -
- Gibson (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely, well appointed hotel that's close enough to the airport for a stay before or after landing and the grounds are absolutely superb! Truly beautiful park like gardens with a plethora of birdlife.

- Antonella (9/5): Superb -
- Colleen (10/5): Very friendly and helpful - I was on a photography workshop and we met at the hotel I liked everything
- Kenneth (9/5): Good location away from central San Jose. Modern hotel with ammenities. - Excellent breakfast buffet. Lovely garden/grounds in back. Comfortable rooms and beds. Helpful staff. We forgot to tip our maid!
- Lynne (8/5): Relaxing stay away from city - Gardens, family run Bedrooms a little tired
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolyn (10/5): Excellent. - Everything. The staff, hotel, the gardens and the food. The main road was noisy at night.
- Mark (9/5): Comfortable hotel set in magnificent gardens with great local birdlife - The hotel is in a northern suburb of San Jose set in large, beautifully landscaped gardens rich in local bird life. Service was polite and professional. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The restaurant food at dinner and breakfast did not seem up to the standard of the hotel itself. Breakfast choice was quite limited considering the large number of guests. Dinner was bland and the glass of wine ordered was stale though the waiter replaced it with a glass from a fresh bottle. A sandwich specifically ordered for a vegan lunch companion contained mayonnaise and had to be sent back.
- Kwan (10/5): Our stay was enjoyable , the garden is amazing! - The garden, the staffs, the room has the balcony.T The breakfast not very interest.
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Sue (10/5): Incredible start to seeing Costa Rica. It’s rich with the garden and birds - Stunning Nothing.
- Aarón (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Rolands (9/5): The garden is fantastic, i have not seen anything like that in other place - The garden City traffic to hotel
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (10/5): Fantastic hotel with beautiful gardens! - Fantastic hotel with beautiful gardens!
- Magdalena (9/5): Great stay. - Amazing view from the room. Beautifully maintained garden full of birds.
- Theo (10/5): Excellent experience, would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in San Jose. - Enjoyed the restaurant space, the large windows allow light to enter. the variety of the food was good. Liked the breakfast juice and fruit selections. Steak at dinner was excellent. Staff were all friendly, courteous and helpful. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The decor in the hotel is bright and colourful. Loved the gardens. Road-facing rooms can be a bit noisy due to traffic but not overly disturbing. Perhaps some double-glazing on the windows that side would help.
- Arlene (10/5): Super! - The breakfast was exceptional, the garden is amazing. This is a must stay if traveling to San Jose. Very friendly staff and a beautiful place.
- Jin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nuno (9/5): Superb -
- Barbara (10/5): kind helpful staff beautiful gardens enhance recovery from lpng flights and buggy expeditions. -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - I appreciated the gardens and birding. I also liked the gated parking lot. N/A
- Hilary (10/5): Gardens are unbelievable - Exceptional gardens, wonderful staff and great food.
- Edward (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (10/5): Excellent hospitality! -
- Alex (9/5): Very nice location towards the edge of the city with amazing garden and beautiful facilites - Very nice location towards the edge of the city with amazing garden and beautiful facilites, very nice interior with art and rock displays we could only stay one night
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was adequate but more than made up for by the astonishingly lovely gardens I wish we could have reserved a king size bed.
- Richard (8/5): Great hotel in a quiet part of the city. - We love this hotel and have stayed here several times. Breakfast is excellent and is included. Love walking thru the extensive and beautiful park-like lawns The "mountain view" room we were assigned on our second stay in two weeks was very poor with regard to view. It looked out across the roofs of the lobby and dining area. Terrible view, probably the worst from that side of the building. One week earlier, we were given a garden view room. We paid the same for both rooms!
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect Stay for family travel around Costa Rica!
- Richard (9/5): We have stayed in San Jose 4 times and always stay at the Bougainvillea - very nice hotel! - Breakfast was excellent and included. We love the large, beautiful gardens. Except for school next door, the location is in a quiet neighborhood.
- Tommy (10/5): Recommend & would like to be back again - Put me in a garden view room, allow me to enjoy facilities after checkout, beautiful garden, nice staff The fruit in breakfast is the worst fruit I have in Costa Rica. Not sweet at all… hard to believe.
- Douglas (10/5): Best place we stayed during our 2-week vacation. - Delicious breakfast. The large natural area is amazing with many bird species.
Dining staff were helpful. Grounds staff showed us an Owl and told us about a tree.
- Heaven (9/5): Fabulous hotel with the most beautiful gardens - Absolutely beautiful gardens where I could work whilst listening to the birds. Delicious breakfast. Fantastic staff who just couldn’t help enough. Nothing!
- David (10/5): Garden of Eden in the City - The gardens were exceptional, the room was very big and spacious. Breakfast was excellent.
- Ivascu (8/5): A very good location for the first 2 days in Costa Rica, close to the Airport and the city. - The room and the hotel are very nice, the gardens are gorgeous and an attraction in itself. The location is very convenient, close to shops, restaurants and San Jose (by car). The breakfast is very poor quality and the coffee is the worst. I don't understand why in Costa Rica (the house of coffee) you can serve such a bad coffee.
- Michael (10/5): Very pleasant experience after a long and tiring flight. Grounds were beautiful - Lived up to the reviews Nothing to dislike
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Broken-winged (8/5): Great way to end the holiday. - The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. We spent the morning birdwatching. There is a nice pool and well maintained tennis courts. After spending 2 weeks staying in simple accommodation across Costa Rica, this was a nice luxurious way end our holiday. Staff were nice considering they were working on Christmas Day. Breakfast and dinner were ok, nothing remarkable considering the 4 star status of the hotel. You have to ask for fried eggs / omelets from a waitron. They will not ask you or offer this. We saw someone else ask for it which is when we realised this was a possibility. When they we received our eggs they were executed very well.
- Liya (7/5): Go for the gardens. The room was ok, noisy. You can hear the plumbing and the people in the rooms around and above us. I - The gardens. The cleanliness. The traffic noise. The absence of a fridge. The limited breakfast. The food at the restaurant.
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (10/5): We came to see the birds in the gardens and were not disappointed! - The gardens were amazing! The staff was very kind, welcoming and helpful. N/A
- Rich (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable hotel with excellent service. The gardens are truly spectacular.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Karl (10/5): A lovely and calming respite after a red-eye flight to Costa Rica. - This hotel was recommended to us by friends who spent a lot of time in Costa Rica as a great respite after a red-eye flight before heading out to the mountains. We loved it! While it is not luxurious, it is pretty and clean, the air smells great,
and it has a good vibe. The botanic gardens are exquisite. What a surprising delight! And our room was completely quiet. The beds were super comfortable and we never heard a sound. The staff were lovely and the food was great. Highly recommend! Can't think of a thing.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - The gardens were stunning with a lovely pool.
Had an excellent massage from Tiffany to relax us after an exhausting journey and Leti on reception was amazing both friendly and helpful, even spending time to show us the fascinating local currency! Nothing to dislike.
- Luis (9/5): Excellent stay in the Heredia area. - Magnificent gardens. Great restaurant. Very friendly staff.
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
