- Rosalea (1/5): Don’t stay here - We booked a Deluxe Cabin but did not get a Deluxe Cabin. We received a very basic cabin. When I enquired about the cabin the person at reception, just shrugged her shoulders and said that all the Deluxe Cabins are booked and none were available for me even though I booked and paid for a Deluxe cabin on Booking.com.
I was told that the amount I paid for a Deluxe Cabin on Booking.com was cheaper than what they charge on-site and that all the Deluxe Cabins are booked to other people over 12 months ago due to the rowing championships being held. My question was “So if that’s true why did Booking.com allow me to book a Deluxe Cabin 8 weeks ago?
I think something dodgy happened with my booking.
The basic cabin we stayed in was the worst I have experienced in my travels.
There was no sliding door flyscreen to the entrance sliding door, the bottom rail on the mini fridge provided was missing, so less space to store drinks. The standing floor fan was broken, the wall fan above the bed was not working properly, the chair in the living area was very uncomfortable, the towel rail in the bathroom fell off because the screws were loose.
The so called free WiFi did not exist in the cabin due to poor reception. Even the girl in the office said her WiFi was intermittent and told me that I might get WiFi if I stand outside the laundry which was not close to our cabin.
The only thing good in the cabin was the shower. Good pressure.
To sum up my experience, no care factor at reception. Will never go there again.
Dodgy mob this lot is🤔

It was easy to find and it was in a good location to the beach and playgrounds. There were laundry facilities and shared cooking. There was not much around the area. You need a car to get into Devonport. The roads leading into the venue are not good. I did not expect anything different though and was happy.

- Lyndall Davis (8/5): - I didn't have a car so its proximity to the very inexpensive public transport (bus) was helpful. It took me 50 minutes to walk into town on the other side of the river. The cabin was well equipped and had everything I needed. The cabin I was in was overrun with ants. They were everywhere, even in the bed. They had a sign up warning you to put food away, but I forgot that I had a small bit of chocolate in my bag that they discovered and consequently, I paid the price. Everything had to go in the refrigerator. I also put any food waste in the bins outside to be safe from the ants.
- Ida (8/5): Definitely worth the visit. - Great location and clean comfortable amenities.
- Chris (5/5): - great location for the Spirit of Tasmania No TV in the bedroom. Bathroom was really really small. No airconditioning
- Danae (9/5): - Cute cabin with everything you need. Shelf over the handbasin placed incorrectly so brushing teeth and washing face very difficult.
- Trevor (9/5): All we needed for overnight stay close to ferry terminal - Comfy cabin after sailing on the Spirit No issues
